Find Dark Corners and Duck Pate at Cozy Culver City Wine Bar Evil Twin | Eater LA

"Filing under “things we need to try right now,” I saw that the Juarez Tacos Food Truck in Oxnard sells individual serving-sized trompos—vertical rotating spits typically used for al pastor—portioned here for one extremely hungry person or two (watch the TikTok video for a look)." - Mona Holmes

Google
My first time trying authentic Mexican food & drinks ! they did not disappoint ! Everything was delicious, i didn't wait long for my food ! Nice workers ! The Ramen was my favorite! Will definitely be back for more

I used to be a fan of this location. Today, food was burnt and definitely was the worst food I have ate in 6 months. I would recommend their host to look over the food before it gets sent out or supervisor to inspect it. I had to toss it all out. The only thing that was decent was the tripas this evening . The alpastor is usually my favorite but it was burnt today and just overall disappointment. Who ever cooked the food today should not be working there. I paid $19:50 for burnt Flautas served over lots of lettuce. Pictures are available on my post.

Google
Expect a line, long line at that. This is the reason I do not come here anymore it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get your order. The food is well worth it though. $1 pastor tacos with homemade fresh tortillas. The birria tacos are amazing and flavorful, meat is juicy and not dry. Parking lot is busy and they are making so much money that they have hired traffic security staff to help. Staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Price Point ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
Absolutely delicious! Worth the hype. So much food and options to choose from. Recommend the Flautas Toxicas. The salsa Verde was very well made. The green drink is definitely a must with your meal.

Rocio Z.

Google
Awful! Ordered a Carne Asada burrito and no where did is say it's warpped in cheese. Some people are lactose intolerant and you can't just sneak in cheese to a burrito. The meat wasn't even Asada, it was Stewed beef. $20 to have to pick out cheese and and nasty textured beef. I you say your service Asada it has to be grilled ranchera. This burrito is BS. Salsa nothing special.

Google
This place has the best tacos! I've been to several of their locations. Each is as delicious as the other! The employees are nice and get the food out pretty fast. Only draw back to the saviers rd location is the parking! It's in a small parking lot, and this location gets packed. You are left to find parking down the street in a neighborhood. Their location on hueneme rd is a bit better. It's in a much bigger parking lot!

Janelle O.

Google
Google Maps has the right address for this truck, Yelp doesn’t. There’s a line outside the truck to the left and a parking lot to wait for your order. The menu is posted on another car, but no prices. They have this combo ($15) which we shared - 2 tacos de birria, birria ramen and it comes with the agua de pepino y limon natural which was super refreshingly delicious! This was my first time and finally trying birria tacos and what better than to have it from Juarez! Crispy tacos with tasty insides dipped in the birria ramen!

Google
Juarez tacos what happened to your quality? It’s been disappointing the last few times but today sadly we determined that you have chosen to lower the standards of your quality and service. A picture says a thousand words, and based on the look of our tacos for the 3rd time in a row, we will not recommend you anymore to friends and family because I’d be embarrassed to claim that tacos are stacked and that prices are reasonable. Today we were charged for $6 for tiniest bit of rice…come on now that’s at least two tacos worth for 3oz of rice.
google avatar

Miguel A.

Yelp
The birria ramen was not loaded with birria only had like 2 pieces but the broth was rich, savory, and perfectly spiced. The tacos were stacked with birria and weee delicious ! I also tried a torta and it was delicious. The bread was soft and the fillings were super flavorful and satisfying. To top it all off, the pepino agua fresca was incredibly refreshing! The perfect drink to cool down with.

Yelp
I have been going to the place for a while and today I went the lady taking to the order was so very rude and disrespectful for no reason and to top it off she did not even want to give me my receipt, working in customer service I know can be hard at times but to be rude just to be rude or cause your having a bad day (I would guess) is a no no, when you are at work you are representing your company. The attitude the lady had was just plain ugly and uncalled for and I pray she has a better day and is thankful to just have a job

Lizeth R.

Yelp
As someone who loves birria , do not waste your time coming here i'm sure there's other places with better flavor. Quesabirria tacos were plain no type of flavor. I was surprised since when i got there it was pretty packed. They also charge a $6 fee if you use card. them serving a potato and tortilla chips was my last straw. They call it the red tacos bc of the food coloring the tortilla has. do not recommend will not go back
google avatar

Marian M.

Yelp
WORST SERVICE EVER . Super unprofessional RUDE and to OVERPRICED . Not to mention there was a HAIR inside my quesadilla. They didn't want to give me a refund. Don't recommend this place at all. Super unhygienic as well grabbing tortillas with no gloves .

A R.

Yelp
Worst customer service, Lady taking the order very rude when asked about the missing items. Food quality has definitely decreased and prices increased! Never again
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
Very bad customer service...The place was good before but since it became famous service sucks and also food.
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
Went to try this food truck after seeing an advertisement while I was in Oxnard. Love the red tacos. It's cute they put a little potato with each order. Torta was huge, and the queso birria tacos with consommé was really good. We will come back the next time we are in Oxnard.

Yelp
First time trying Juarez Tacos at their location off Saviers and really enjoyed it. Usually food trucks tend to be around areas with terrible parking but they are in good location with plenty of parking space in a big lot. There are a couple of small stools you can sit on or open your trunk and eat by your car. Service was good and not long of a wait to get our food. Ordered tacos de asada and agua fresca de pepino. They have different salsas set out to take with you once you order. The tacos were good and they portion was great. Wish they added a bit more onion but they were still tasty. Portions were good. Agua fresca was topped on the rim with Tajin and was really good and perfect to enjoy on a sunny day. Will be back to try more items on their menu!

Yelp
Looking for the best quesabirria tacos? Look no further. You WILL find them at Juarez Tacos. I'm hooked on the quesabirria tacos and the flautas toxicas. You can not miss this fun and festive looking food truck with lights flashing, preparing you for the party that's about to happen in your tummy. The employees work hard and efficiently to bring you delicious food as fresh and fast as possible.
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
Such a let down! Used to be our go to spot...and being a local we have tons of choices for tacos!! Right off the bat the "man" taking your order lacks all basic customer service skills and is rude. This last visit my son got food poisoning from the birria tacos so this will be our last visit at Juarez! With so many other options on Saviers Rd alone save yourself a disappointment and grab some from La Bonita on Laurel!

Yuriana R.

Yelp
Tacos are dry and don't have any flavor and the food is really expensive and not even good would not recommend at all
google avatar

Mayra O.

Yelp
Awful! How is there so many people? The meat was sooo dry and old. Guy taking my order was rude. I usually don't write review for tacos but it's FRIDAY night and it should be cooked fresh knowing there will be a rush. I also had the birria queso taco which was also very bland and forgettable. Saving grace was they had yummy pickled onions but that's about it. Sorry Juarez tacos but yall did not come through. Update: ended up giving this place one star as it ended up getting myself and my brother sick the next day.

Yelp
Ima keep it short, simple, and sweet... Food... i wouldn't know how good it taste, because they never showed up to a charity event they swore they'd provide the food for... Service: horrible service... for a food truck to FLAKE after it was to be the only source of food at a CHARITY event where multiple car clubs were showing up to from all over socal (Victorville, Mission Viejo, Bakersfield, Anaheim, Long Beach, etc etc). Just my crew alone of 14 cars and over 28 ppl arrived to the event starving as we all travelled 1-2.5 hours driving... Ambiance, yea it left a sour taste in the air... the food truck confirmed 2 days before and again the day before they were going to arrive on time which was set for around 430pm... and after being contacted by 1 leader about their whereabouts, they ignored him and spoke with another leader saying they never had someone reach out and confirm with them... so after each of the leaders spoke and exchanged the screenshots to show the food truck, he GHOSTED THEIR MESSAGES AFTER... Moral of this review, don't let the bomb photos fool you, these dudes are lying crooks who couldn't give a damn about keeping their word... even with charity on the line and a potential night of big money, they will lie to you and ghost you, do yourself a favor and find 1 of the many other food trucks that offer bomb Hispanic cuisine -TeslaFlix ‍

Yelp
zero stars The truck on 6th street has the worst customer service especially they guy I pick up orders for door dash there and he says go to the other window to pick up and no one comes to the window to help bring the order he just stands at the order window staring into space and there's no customer's I already reported it to door dash

Crystal B.

Yelp
Horrible service! Will not be returning, hardly any customers and still took over 30 min for order and when I asked if I could get extra lemon the lady was rude and said no because they already put lemon. I got 1/4th of a lemon for 5 tacos and meat had lots of fat and very dry.
google avatar

Marco B.

Yelp
Idk the tacos de asada didn't do it for me tasted more grease than food gave up after the second one. I can speak on the service because my girl went to get them. She came back quick so i guess its fast service i will review my review when i give them another chance
google avatar

Yelp
We use to come over from the Santa Clarita valley to pick up a tacos from Juarez. We hadn't been in a while and took a trip this weekend. To say the least we were beyond disappointed at how much you have raised your prices and lowered the quality of your food. We use to refer everyone to you. We will no longer be visiting your location. There are plenty of trucks out there with just as good of food for half the cost of yours.

Alondra G.

Yelp
The guy victor on the register was EXTREMELY RUDE after we got our food we asked if there was avocado sauce and we were told to wait. 15 minutes passed by we had to ask 4 times just to say they didn't have any! It would've been okay if they said that from the beginning. Even the other staff said he has a nasty attitude but I guess that's why he works there, all amargado.

Aguamaria O.

Yelp
Victor (cashier) is infamously known for his rude, poor customer service and attitude. Rolled his eyes multiple times, definitely ruined my experience here.

Yelp
Came back for the same exact thing - ramen birria tacos with that green drink! This time we are in the car because it was windy cold! Yummy food shared between two ladies!
google avatar

Bigvai S.

Yelp
These tacos were super good when they first started. Then they cared more about quantity than quality. Their food is disgusting now. Nothing is fresh, I got tacos de tripa and cabeza and the meat was super old and my stomach hurt instantly. I recommend you stay away from this place.
google avatar

Yelp
First timers! We have seen the hype on our family and friends social media. We knew we needed to pay a visit! We finally made it and it was so good! We ordered 2 orders of quesatacos and 1 quesabirria with an horchata. Total was $50! Kinda pricey but with prices going up everywhere and on everything it is much expected. The quesatacos were delicious! They are huge! Had I known I would have shared with my teen daughter. I could not eat it all. Holy large portions! They come with a pretty large portion of consomé and a side of pickled onions and cucumbers. Quesabirria was ridiculously large. I'm not kidding when I say it's large enough to feed a family of four. Horchata isn't all that great (not authentic). Everything else was great! It's in the sketchy part of town but that only means it's even that better! Whenever you are in Ventura county make sure to stop by!

Yelp
My review is only the the Al pastor because that's all I get. On Fridays they're one buck. They're pretty big with handmade tortillas. Sometimes they have guacamole and sometimes they don't which is ok with me. One dollar tacos that's a yassss from me. I love that I posted requesting they have pineapple on their Al pastor and the owner listened. It was for one day but I sooo appreciated it. We usually go Fridays for the one dollar Al pastor as times are tough . Sometimes you wait a bit but it's worth it for me .
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
Went to the location on Hueneme rd. We order 3 pastor tacos, Asada burrito, and pastor quesadilla. It was 25$. Super good prices. It was fun to eat right on the tuck since it was not busy at all. Everything was very delicious. The Asada was fresh, tender and flavorful. The salsa verde was super flavorful and the red salsa was nice and spicy. I like how we got sides with each plate and I loved the pickled onions and lettuce. I have to add, normally I could eat 2 tacos and a burrito from most spots. But the burrito was too large for me to finish. We will definitely be back to this truck. 100% recommend.

Yelp
This is mybplace to go in town for birria tacos, hands down they are good as i will drive from ventura down to south oxnard for some great tacos.

April S.

Yelp
Their food is good! There Birria tacos are good as well, the problem with them is that they're extremely cheap with the Consommé I mean cheap they expect you to share it with other people!! I ordered a Birria pizza and all they gave me was a small maybe 1/2 pint size of the Consommé for that 10 piece Birria pizza! Not just the pizza it's everything that is Birria it's like pulling teeth out of them!! That's ridiculous! The food is good but don't ask for extra Consommé they will give you all BS reason not to. They want you to pay for extra even if you order a large order from them! Not even as a courtesy! Juarez taco truck your food is good you need to stop being so cheap with the Consommé. People don't like to have others dip their tacos in the same cup of Consommé because you only gave one!! Really!!

Sarah B.

Yelp
The birria here is delicious. I've tried it at some other places and not as good. The only downside is it is difficult to find one of their trucks around Ventura County.
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
We ordered from here on 7/31/22. (2) wet burritos-Birria, (2) nachos-Birria, and (2) cucumber lemonade drinks. This came to $67.00. WTF! This is goat and not filet mignon. The best part was the drinks. That's it! You can go to a restaurant and spend less then this for Mexican food. Very disappointed- NEVER AGAIN. John D. Port Hueneme.

Yelp
With all the taco trucks in Oxnard serving Birria, I think I finally found the one I like most in Juarez tacos. I finally do not have to keep searching. The birria tacos are not too big, but are also not too small neither. The tacos are the perfect size. I love how this truck really drenches the tortilla in the fat making the tacos extra juicy because I have definitely had some dry birria tacos before. Also, the extra fat grease on the tortillas make the tortillas taste like Doritos which is bomb!! They also put a lot of queso in the tacos which is a plus because nobody likes skimpy cheese on their tacos lol. Now on to the ramen... it was FIRE!!! I love anything Tapatio so the ramen definately hit the spot. It was nothing like ive ever had before. When I ordered the ramen, it came as a combo with the tacos and a cucumber/lemonade drink with chamoy all on the rim. It was too good and huge making it so worth it. I had no choice but to take it home and spike it with tequila!! Very satisfied with Juarez birria tacos they definately know what they are doing behind that counter. And the food came out in a timely manner. I cannot wait to come back home to Ox and eat here again. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
These are so big!! We ordered 14 and UMMM we have so many tacos!!! Drippy, dippy tacos. You dip these masterpieces into a broth and you know..there just aren't words for how much happiness these bring me. I swear that if I had one last few meals, this would be one I would request. Parking is super entertaining. It's a parking lot and people who either can't drive or don't use their brain try to force themselves into spots or run people over to get into spots. Some people just DGAF and are on a mission for their taco and walk in front of you to park. The wait is about 20-30 minutes but fear not!!! ELOTE man is there to provide an appetizer with his cart. You also can get fruita!!! Don't be thrown off by the hardcore security guard lady who seems like she will knock you out if you look shady. Directing "traffic" in that lot would make anyone hardcore gangsta. YOU WONT BE SORRY Go!!!!

Juan H.

Yelp
The food is good but the customer service is the worst. The cashier is rude, disrespectful and lacks the professionalism to be in customer service. Any questions you may have will be answered with him rolling his eyes at you talking to you as if you are wasting his time. I had to walk away and not order anything from this place. I have also advised my family to do the same. I do not recommend this taco truck! The customer service alone will ruin your experience
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
Muy buenos tacos ! Deff recommend ! Me gusto mucho el alpastor ! Recomiendo este lugar I recommend this food truck .. it's a must !
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Wow, this place has sure got popular.. and to be honest it's not a bad taco place. I wanted to sing it's praises too and say that it's a great place to visit but my biggest issue with it is its claim to fame, the birria. I'll start with the good, because I really feel they do lot of things right. For example, the consistency of the food, taste and overall presentation is always the same. This might seem like a trivial thing to some but there is nothing worse than going to a restaurant, trying a dish and then coming back another time for the same dish only to realize that it doesn't taste same. Tacos Juarez truly excels at that. Their lines are always long, which is ok because they are organized and go through your order fairly quickly. Now that they use two trucks the wait times have improved. As far as the taste of the food, the tortillas are good, fresh made you can't really beat that. The Pastor is just another run of the mill "Oxnard" pastor, nothing special here. The Cabeza is pretty good, it reminds me of a place in TJ that serves great Cabeza tacos. The other meats like Asada are again, just ok nothing to scream about. Now onto my biggest issue.. the birria. Not sure that people of praise this place have ever had great birria and therefore can't really compare so I take that into consideration. But, because the majority of their menu relies ok this ingredient it kinda puts the whole place into perspective. i mean the birria does not taste bad, it just lacks the real flavor that makes the dish so popular in Mexico. I feel the birria at Juarez Tacos just tastes like plain old beef soup. I mean I can't taste the notes of cinnamon or the pungent aromatics of the bay leaf.. it's just missing something which makes the overall flavor pretty lackluster. And yes, I know tons of people will disagree with me, but keep in mind that most of the people going to this place are just lemmings that follow trends online (Trendi Eats) and like to say something is good because others say so. I mean have you ever tried the Tapatio ramen by itself?? it is gross!! Anyways, in the three times that I've visited this place, I have always been happy with their consistency and they do serve some good Cabeza tacos. So for that reason I will still visit them once in a while but, it will unfortunately not be for the birria.
google avatar

Pablo M.

Yelp
Food is decent but greasy. It's also pricey. The wait is absolutely terrible. It took me 35 minutes to get my order after I waited about 10 minutes to order. They are not helpful about what they offer. Even after I told them it was my first time. The worst thing was their salsa being out in the open where anyone can handle it. You damn well know people aren't clean. It grossed me out because it was nearly out and I couldn't help to think how many different dirty hands it touched before dripping back in. Not impressed by the big line. Overrated, in my opinion
google avatar

Liana C.

Yelp
First time here, ive passed by so many times and the line is always insane but things were calmer on a Thursday and the wait wasnt too bad. They had a special- two birria tacos and a birria ramen with a cantarito. Everything is phenomenal and tasty!!! Make sure you have extra napkins in your car. The meat was flavorful and the drinks were refreshing. Salsa was super spicy and perfect.
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
I guess i was hyped out by a instagram influencer and it was a total upset !! I order 2 birria tacos , they give.me quesa tacos ! Then the 2 asada tacos for the kids was bad too , the meat tasted bad and it look like it was re-heated from a day before , i really was hoping that they will live to the recommendations giving by the influencer but sadly nope !!
google avatar

Brandon B.

Yelp
Top 3 best birria tacos ive ever had. Top 3 salsa verdes I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend.
google avatar

Richard H.

Yelp
This place is famous for its Birria Ramen and tacos, especially after one Youtuber drove two hours to review this place. I asked the cashier to give me "what the Youtuber had" and she exactly knew what I meant. This food truck makes people buy a set of ramen, tacos, and drink just to order the ramen (~$13 combo). I was happy with it though because the food was really amazing and it was alot! My coworkers also tell me that this place cooks other Mexican dishes using authentic methods of cooking. Line is always long too so set aside some time for that. This was my first time trying Birria and I loved it. The definition of Birria, I copied and pasted below. Here is the definition of "Birria" Birria (Spanish: [birja] ( listen)) is a Mexican dish from the state of Jalisco. The dish is a meat stew traditionally made from goat meat, but occasionally made from beef or mutton. The dish is often served at celebratory occasions, such as weddings and baptisms, and holidays, such as Christmas and Easter.
google avatar

Patrick S.

Yelp
So far I have only had a few things, but everything I have had on the menu was amazing. The Quesabirria was really good. I have had them at a couple different places and here it's my favorite so far. The staff was really nice with what interaction I had with them. They were busy when I was there and even then my food came out pretty quickly. There is still a lot I want to try on their menu. So I will definitely be going back, I fallow their Instagram and seeing all the pictures they post the food just looks mouthwatering.
google avatar

Nestor G.

Yelp
Bomb pastor tacos and agua de pepino Best I had in my entire life lol Will definitely come back again
google avatar

Dailan W.

Yelp
I've been texting for weeks trying to get service ahead of time for their special plate offer and they never respond so when it came to the day I needed it, today, I go and the guy refused to give me a reason as to why he doesn't want to and kept trying to say no he cannot make it when there was quite literally no one around that needed to be served. Never coming back.
google avatar

HueroVero M.

Yelp
If tacos are ok not the best but something I come here when I don't want to drive far lol service is so so
google avatar

Michol W.

Yelp
Sad days.. they used water in the ramen... where is the actual flavor. Where is the consome.. such a bummer. I hope you all were having a bad night because this was a bummer. We ordered 8 ramen combos and came home to this disappointment.
google avatar

Lizette M.

Yelp
Do u love queso birra tacos ? Or burritos? Or quesadilla's? This is the spot to go. It's a food truck and there are a few in Oxnard all of them are great. I love the aguas frescas! Prices are good.
google avatar

Val P.

Yelp
I love these birria tacos. I drive from Lancaster just to some every couple of months.

Blanca A.

Yelp
Food is really good but the guys who is a cashier has a bad attitude. Service is horrible
google avatar

Erik P.

Yelp
Can't depend on this truck to show up to your event. Promised to be at our car show on 11/20/22 and they flaked!!! That's not how you run a successful business!

Junior B.

Yelp
Food is actually really good but their service sucks! Waited for 30 minutes before I checked on my order, they said they were almost done then my number kept getting skipped so finally after 45 minutes I decided to get my money back and leave empty handed! Wasted my time but it won't happen again because I'm never going back!
