Best kosher shwarma I’ve had since israel! I got the shwarma/chicken liver platter with a side of fries and morocan carrots. Everything was bursting with flavor and incredibly delicious. My wife absolutely loved the Shakshuka. The service was incredible such a warm, hospitable place. I strongly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area ☺️

Google
Judah Mediterranean Grill exceeded my expectations! The vibrant atmosphere, attentive staff, and, above all, the exquisite flavors of their Mediterranean dishes made my dining experience truly delightful. The fresh ingredients and skillful preparation showcased a commitment to quality. I can't wait to return and savor more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommended!

Google
The food was really really good here. Very fresh and well made. The falafel was pleasantly crispy with a nice flavor and the hummus was really good as well. The star of the meal for me though was the veal liver with fried onion! The best I think I've ever had! Highly recommend.

Google
One portion of shawarma is huge! Owner is really nice and friendly too. This shawarma truly offers a generous serving size. The owner's welcoming demeanor enhances the dining experience. Customers will undoubtedly feel valued and appreciated. Such hospitality makes a memorable impression. It's a pleasure to enjoy such delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere.

Google
After working with local charity, my local crew would come by and they were very accommodating and would set up a large long table for us. I assume we called in advance. Perfect sized portions. You will leave full and happy. Lots of healthy options and soul-food options. Staff was always nice even with our big table. Totally recommend. It's where the locals go. Worth a trip.

The waitress was horrible very rude and nasty ! Food was over priced ! Can drinks $3 a can ! She overlooked me I guess because I’m black but was very nice and hospitable to everybody else !

Google
Judah’s is a fantastic spot for delicious and consistent Mediterranean food. Their salatim and fresh laffa are a huge plus, and the shawarma never disappoints. It’s a small, family-style restaurant—not fancy, but warm and welcoming with great flavors. Highly recommend for a satisfying, no-frills meal!

Yelp
This wonderful delightful kosher spot is a community gem. Went there on a Monday night for our anniversary and the joint was jumping. Service is wonderful and friendly and the menu is amazing for Israeli and Middle Eastern treats. Families and couples were there and the vibe is wonderful. We had take out from there five years ago and it did not arrive well, but going there is a completely different experience and we highly recommend it. Try the soups...they can't be beat and the fresh warm pita is to die for. We had the salmon, Jerusalem mix and Salads...all delicious...Enjoy, already!

Yelp
We love the Lamb Kufta Kebabs and Israeli Salad. Since my girl comes from a Kosher and family background, we love Lamb and Kosher meats. Not my first time having Lamb Kebabs, we knew we were going to love them with the Israeli Salad. Nice service and place to eat. Food is moderately priced. We were greeted and seated amongst a small crowd, Real professional and kind staff. I will be coming back to Judah Mediterranean Grill.

Yelp
My first trying this place out i was working in the area and decided to have lunch here..I am about a hummus platter which i was referred to try the Hummus explosion or something like this it was $14 the amount of hummus i was given was straight disrespectful and a slap in the face it was enough for a child the falafel that came with it were the size of chick fila nuggets not filling not satisfying...I won't be going here again overpriced and extremely small portions

Yelp
Food was good but way overpriced, I also wish they let us know that they add their own gratuity to the price. I don't know if they do that to everyone or she just saw my family and assumed we weren't going to tip. Overall, I wish the customer service was better and they would not make me feel so out of place.

Yelp
Clean, kind, courteous, food is delicious! A definite yes! So many choices. Wait staff was very helpful and accommodating.

Yelp
Everything about this place is great! Awesome authentic Israeli food in the heart of NE Philly with warm, welcoming and attentive staff. All negative reviews are from a bunch of pissed off Jihadists that can't stomach the fact that Jews exist.

Nathan K.

Yelp
Roach crawled right in front of us while we were ordering and the food was mediocre. The people working were nice but they really have to do a deep clean and work on their cleanliness.

Yelp
Enjoyable meal. Lives up to its reputation. Nice to have this option in the community. Can't wait to return sometime soon!

Robyn C.

Yelp
Great food at this restaurant! Nice selection of food and nice staff at Judah Mediterranean!

Grace C.

Yelp
Their food is delicious and there are so many options, especially for vegetarians. My sons like their schnitzel and lamb. My mom and I always split a salad platter (their babaganoush is impeccable, as is their purple cabbage salad) and some falafel. The ambiance is homey, and unassuming, and the service is consistently friendly. Great place for kids and adults alike. I only wish it were closer!

Yelp
Great food- we had a family dinner to celebrate and the food was absolutely delicious, I highly recommend!

Yelp
amazing food , great service and terrific atmosphere. I highly recommend it! Staff is extremely nice and caring. if you want good Mediterranean food, that's your perfect spot!

Holly W.

Yelp
My mom's birthday gathering impressed 33 of our close family and friends, including some fussy cousins, decided to bring back 12 friends and still the food was tasty, cooked properly, seasoned well, and authentic Israeli dishes. I will return again.

Yelp
Grabbed takeout today. Falafel is super yummy, Israeli salad is fresh, and it was quick at Wednesday, 3:30pm.

Yelp
Consistently excellent food, prompt service, friendly staff. Great shawarma, burgers, salads, sides, soups.

Yelp
We did a very large catering order for our synagogue and not only was the food FANTASTIC, but Yalli at Judah Grill was so lovely to work with. We will definitely be ordering again!

Yelp
When I walked into Judah Mediterranean Grill the manager announced "best shawarma in the Northeast!" To say I was skeptical was an understatement because I was visiting from New York City where there is excellent Shawarma to be found. But alas, the woman was right! The shawarma was incredible -- a perfect balance of chicken, lamb, salad, tehina all nestled in the freshest, most delicious pita. I could not recommend this place more highly for a quick, delicious lunch.

Yelp
This is the third time I've eaten here over the past two years. If I lived closer, I'd come more often. The first time was a family reunion. I remember the reunion more than the food. The family is Israeli, and they enjoyed dinner. The second time I went with a kosher friend. It was at closing time. We were the only customers as they were cleaning up. The grill/oven was off. They offered us anything cold or whatever did not need to be cooked. They graciously served us. They told us to stay and eat till they had finished. I've been to many restaurants that would not have served us or allowed us, or if they did, for take-out only. I went with a group on Sunday. The meal was pre-ordered. We had beet, eggplant, and cabbage salads plus humus and baba ganoush. The entre was lamb kofta and turkey schwarma. Service was friendly, and they cleared serving plates as we finished. Both times everything was delicious.

Yelp
I was a member of a suburban Philly synagogue group of 11 (foodies) that had brunch, yesterday, at Judah Mediterranean Grill. We've all been to Israel, & regularly dine at our favorite local Israeli & other Middle Eastern restaurants. While some in our group had previously dined at JMG, most of us were first timers. WOW, were we happy to have discovered this family-owned oasis tucked into a shopping center in NE Philly! It looked & felt like, & had the authentic aromas & palate-pleasers, reminiscent of cafes we've enjoyed in Jerusalem & Tel Aviv. The staff was friendly & attentive; portions were large & attractive; & prices were easy on the wallet. We shared a variety of luscious appetizers & entrees, family style, providing an amazing array of delectable tastes & aromas. My favorite, tender & savory falafels, tucked into warm, substantial pitas, with delicious babaganoush, purple cabbage, hummus & tahini, were the best I've had in years. Moroccan carrots, Moroccan eggplant & Mediterranean beets rounded out the fresh & scrumptious sides. Lamb kufta kabobs & Chicken scampi were the meat courses selected, & were tasty, tender & delectable. My wife & I are already planning our next date at JMG, & bringing family & friends!

Yelp
Best shawarma and falafel in Philly , great food , great service, clean and delicious food.

Yelp
The place is a typical sit down place with some classic decor. Nothing too fancy. We went in expecting some decent food, but was sorely disappointed. The staff was very nice though. My friend and I ordered the Moroccan cigars which is filled with ground beef. They were ok, not too much flavor and it was less ground beef texture but more paste like texture. The meat has very little flavor and what flavor profile it has reminds me of the cheap taquitos that you can easily buy at the grocery store. The lamb Pita was decent. A good amount of lamb stuff into the pita. The flavor was missing though. The meat could have done with more seasoning. The "hot sauce" wasn't too spicy, tasted like a slightly spicy marinara sauce. My friend got the shawarma pita. I'd recommend avoiding it. It was overpriced for slightly curry tasting chicken that was dry. Whatever flavor was overwhelmed by the filling and was still under seasoned. The one good thing I can say is their pita is pretty solid compare to other places I have tried. All in all, it was def not worth the money that was spent there. Everything was overly priced for the quality of food especially the Moroccan cigars. Better off buying some taquitos. Should be more like 4-5 dollars instead of 12 dollars. Lamb pita was filling but under seasoned, I would have been ok with 10 dollars, def not worth the 15 dollars. It was hard to decide between 1 or 2 stars, but the steep price and with the quality of food made it a 1.

Yelp
Delicious chopped liver, chicken, Shashuska, hummus. Some interesting desserts, and salads.

Yelp
Always delicious. Either for pickup or dine in. Bring a nice bottle of Kosher wine. It has to be Kosher, or just leave or in the car!) I have tried a lot of things on the menu over the years. Never disappointed. For desert try the chocolate balls. They are amazing!

Yelp
We had lunch here for my extended family after my mother's unveiling. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all excellent! The folks at Judah handled our crowd of about 25 hungry relatives with skill and courtesy! Did I mention the food was great? Thank you to the entire staff!!

Yelp
We went out to eat the other night with some folks who only eat Kosher. Judah was the closest (and only) Kosher restaurant nearby, and the reviews looked good, so we figured what the hell, let's give it a shot. We were intrigued by the menu, which is full of Israeli favorites like schnitzel, shawarma, kabobs, hummus, etc. The shawarma in particular looked awesome in the Yelp photos and I was excited to check it out. I have been on a somewhat melancholy journey in the US over the last few years in search of authentic shawarma, which I loved when I lived in the Middle East. Most places that offer shawarma actually serve a rendition of gyro meat, which is not shawarma at all. Anyway Judah came through big time! The spice profile was spot on and the succulent and slightly crispy lamb was great! My family went with kufta kabobs and reported that they were great too. Overall, everyone seemed to really enjoy their food. Even the little ones ate well! I do have to mention that this place is somewhat expensive for what it is, even considering the good food. It's basically a casual, unpretentious shawarma/falafel joint, but the entrees were close to $20 each which I felt was high. Not insanely high, but still high. In the end though, I was pleasantly surprised to find this great restaurant and despite the steep bill I really enjoyed the experience. Four stars and a solid recommendation from me.

Yelp
Delicious food! Great variety in the menu . Gracious service. Lamb, babaghanoush, hummus, etc., authenticity superb.

Bernard B.

Yelp
I have been to Judah several times, and the food is always awesome, particularly the specials. The server is pleasant and polite. The soups are homemade and delicious. They don't discriminate against people who don't keep kosher. When I saw the glatt kosher sign, I didn't know if I would be welcome, but all are welcome. The prices are reasonable. I hope to continue eating at Judah for a long time to come.

Yelp
I thought few days if to leave this review and I finally decided to do so. The food is delicious.... BUT....! I came to eat shawarma lafa (sandwich), and the lady on the counter treats me like a dog because I didn't leave a tip. I must to say, the restaurant was completely empty and I just wanted to eat my lafa quickly. She didn't let me sit! She asked me to leave and eat outside. Lady, I don't have to leave a tip for lafa sandwich! I didn't open a table platters and you didn't serve my table. I just wanted to eat my sandwich quickly and go away. The attitude of the employees about the tips here is more likely GREEDY. Shame on you!

Yelp
I finally got takeout from this restaurant after wanting to dine here for years. I always think about eating here on Friday or Saturday nights, and that's when they are closed! When I finally ate their food, it was delicious. I ordered multiple dishes and liked them all. The dining space is small and humble, but the food is great. The shakshuka was my favorite part. I look forward to eating here in the future. I went back today with my mom. I got shakshuka again, but she got a sampler platter that I sampled! It had falafel (crispy and delicious), hummus (as good as Solomonov's), lamb/chicken shawarma (so flavorful and moist), and Israeli salad (fresh and so good on a hot day.) I'll order that next time I go! What a great restaurant.

Ling C.

Yelp
HUGE disappointment! I rave about Mediterranean food because it's delicious and created with care. I had high hopes for Judah after a Jewish friend recommended it! Last night I ordered a shawarma platter with rice and salad $22.95 + shawarma in pita $12. Every bite had hard chicken or burnt chicken pieces. The portions were completely awful and the flavor was not worth the price by a landslide! As soon as I looked at the food, I knew appearance wise it was as not worth more than $6. I won't be returning here.

Yelp
We have been getting food from this restaurant for years even before the pandemic. Our dinner on Sunday was not up to their usual standards. We got a personal salad assortment and for salads were put in a small sandwich container and squashed together. Why? The chicken livers were hard as a rock. The rice tasted like minute rice and the Israeli salad was acidic and bitter. The Mediterranean platter, not cheap and the portions were very small. As I said we have gotten food and eat in there since it opened. I think I'm going to try Pita pocket
google avatar

Lea D.

Yelp
Stopped here for a work lunch and what a wonderful lunch we had! We wanted hummus- and this was undoubtedly the best hummus I've ever had- how do they get it so creamy!!!? AND THAT PITA!! Pea soup was less viscous than my Italian self is used to (not pork based) but it was seasoned to perfection! And a great temperature. I had shawarma (like their version of a chicken cheese steak without the cheese) with babagaboush (sour creamy eggplant) and an Israeli salad (cucumber and tomato with vinegar). The flavors went great together! My partner got Kabob Kufta (like a deliciously seasoned beef burger on a skewer) with yellow rice. Staff was so friendly (helped explain menu) and we loved the decor! Thanks Judah's!

Yelp
Tasty food. Friendly staff. Friends liked it too. A great resource for kosher food. I am not kosher, bit I loved the food there, cabbage, beets, chicken, burger. All tasty.

Yelp
Great kosher food in the area. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite.

Yelp
Came to Philly for a baseball game. Was hoping to find something close to the stadium, but couldn't. So we came here, and boy, am I glad we did! The food was excellent. We had kubbeh, a lamb burger with fries and coleslaw, and kufteh kebab with fries and hummus. Each bite was well seasoned and prepared beautifully. Fries were perfect. Service was great too. I cannot think of one thing that could have been better! This is the kind of place I am happy to give my business.

Yelp
A bit expensive but great food. Update 6/26/22 I am over than 5 years customer of Judah Mediternean Grille! After giving this place 5-stars review, I decided to edit it to 1-star after being treated like a dog. I came once again to eat here after driving 1 hour and a half to eat lunch. I ordered Shawarma in Lafa, the restaurant was completely empty beside 1 occupied table of 3 people. Not a busy day or time, at all. There were 2 nasty girls over the counter which forbid me to sit eating my Lafa. "WE DON'T SERVE LAFA ON THE TABLE", the short fatty girl said. "But the restaurant is empty and it's too hot outside, can I sit quickly to eat my sandwich", I replied almost begin them for permission to sit. The girl said again very nasty and rude, almost yelling at me: "WE DON'T SERVE LAFA ON THE TABLE, PLEASE LEAVE AND HAVE A NICE DAY". She was badly sarcastic, mean like a witch, and gave me a nasty look with evil eyes. I took my sandwich and left to eat outside in the hottest day of the week. If this is the way you treat returned long time customer, I might not comeback again. There are so many other Israeli/Mediternean restaurants all over Philly, so I better try them giving a business to someone who appreciate my money and especially me, as a customer. Ma'am, if you have a bad day, you better stay at home!

Yelp
This is by far my favorite place to go to when I'm craving a taste of home (Israel!) Whether I'm craving pita and salads or shawarma and hummus, I know I'm always going to be satisfied at Judah's. Not only is the food amazing, but the staff is the best and super friendly! The place has such good vibes with the decor and home-feels. Would recommend to anybody looking for an amazing meal in the northeast!

Madi N.

Yelp
Loved this place! Was really craving Mediterranean food and this place did not disappoint. It's super authentic and traditional. I got a gyro which was really yummy. Great hummus, tzatziki, and falafel. The babaganoush was the creamiest i've ever had. I wish they had homemade pita but I don't think they make it themselves. Still was yummy tho and came out warm. Beet salad was also great and we got baklava to go which did not disappoint. Prices were reasonable and food came out fast. Definitely have been itching to go here again soon!

Yelp
Poor customer service. I come here a lot, they constantly get my order wrong. Then complain about it loud enough so that I can hear it. Please note, come people can understand Hebrew, so careful what you say about your patrons. Thank!
google avatar

Retna S.

Yelp
Great and fast service. Very accommodating to my food allergy concern. Food came out fast. Chicken schwarma has lamb in it. Babaganoush an hummus is good. Israeli salad is very refreshing. Rum balls are good too.

Yelp
I ate food and had SEVERE FOOD POISON. Ended up being in hospital for 4 days!!! I agree with other reviews - the food is NOT fresh and under cooked. I saw shwarma that looked more like jerky beef. STAY AWAY if you want be healthy!!!! I was never sick in my life as I was after eating food in Judah Mediterranean Grill. I don't know how they stay in business. When I called to report I was poisoned, the owner first was very nasty and then changed her attitude and proposed she would "take care of me" next time I go there. I will NEVER go there again. I usually never write reviews, but want to help others not to get sick over their food.

Yelp
Shawarma, kabobs and grape leaves, oh my! Judah offers all of the Mediterranean classics you desire. It's absolutely delish and a prefect, healthier option for the area! I have no idea why I don't come here more often when I'm visiting my parents around the corner, but that's going to change. ASAP! I love this type of cuisine so much as it caters so very well to carnivores and us vedge heads alike. The meals all look so tasty, well portioned and priced reasonably. Take out or eat in and don't for get that bottle as it's BYOB. I loved the side salad sampler which allowed me a taste of 4 of their dozen amazing salads. I chose the baba Ganoush, Israeli, spiced carrots, and eggplant salad. They were all incredible! I expected the eggplant to be chunks of eggplant like I get at the Uzbek places which it wasn't. It was more of a dip consistency, but it was still so tasty! I personally prefer my pita toasted, but it was fine. Not my favorite, but decent. It was more for stuffing than dipping which is what I was intending on doing. You can easily just eat these salads with a fork and save some calories! I would recommend all of these salads, would get them again and look forward to trying 4 news ones next time as it was indeed hard to narrow down my choices. I am so happy to have this as my new go to option when in the area! Give it a go! It seems to be well liked by all! There are certified Kosher and do catering!

Yelp
Good location and very easy parking. I was looking for a Mediterranean restaurant and because of the reviews I thought I would try it. I ordered the falafel in a Lafa. A Lafa is a very large pita , around 10 inches long. It included hummus, salad and tahini. I have to say this was probably one of the best I've had. Be prepared to share one of these with someone or order the smaller one on a pita. I ate half and was very full. I took the other half home to enjoy for dinner. The only thing I felt was excessive was the $40.00 minimum charge for using a credit card. They obviously want you to pay in cash. A bonus to this restaurant is that it is kosher. I will go back although next time i'll bring cash.

Yael S.

Yelp
Judah Mediterranean Grill serves consistently delicious meals. Every meal ordered dine-in or take-out is always first rate. This is years before Covid and last week. We love the Bronzino fish. The chummus is always great! The beet salad is always better than the last time we had it. The shawarma is moist and and very flavorful. We cannot recommend this consistently delicious restaurant for an authentically seasoned tasty meal. If you haven't been, you should go.
google avatar

Barbara V.

Yelp
My husband and I rarely eat out, but when we do we choose Judah's grill. The food is consistently great. Today we tried a special appetizer; the Korean cauliflower. It was amazing. The waitress described it as sweet and spicy, she was right on! Their burgers are also one of my favorites!

Yelp
The best hummus in Philly !!! Definitely comment back to this please everything that I ordered it was perfect !!!

Yelp
Had a very nice lunch today at Judah Mediterranean Grill! We were looking for a good spot in Northwest Philly that was convenient for a business meeting. Looked at Yelp, Mediterranean is a favorite, so we gave it a go! Very casual spot in a small strip mall. Friendly service, loved the food. Hardest thing was deciding what to order!
google avatar

Lady E.

Yelp
This place is in a strip mall and will surprise you. It has a "deli" type of feel to it with tables in the front for you to sit and eat. I also enjoyed the eclectic decorations. You don't go to this place for ambiance, you go for good food. Wow do they have delicious food! We ordered the lunch special and it came with a lot of food including vegetable soup, warm bread, meat and two sides. We had the baby chicken and shawarma for the meats. The shawarma is a mix of lamb and chicken. This such a delicious and tender shawarma. My partner has tried a lot of shawarma from a variety of places and he stated that "this was one of the best shawarma he has ever had." The tahini sauce was spot on. The white rice was cooked perfectly and was yummy. Trust me, I am very critical of rice being an experience Latina rice cooker. I was surprised at the high prices on the menu but, after we ate the food, we decided that it was well worth the price for the care that went into the food. This was authentic Mediterranean food. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did! The waitress (possibly the owner's daughter?) was so sweet and provided excellent service. See you guys again.

Yelp
Delicious food, pleasant & friendly service! The price is worth the amazing taste. Worth the visit even if you're not kosher. This is the only restaurant in Philadelphia & New Jersey area that recalls the taste of the the great food from Israel.
