13 Places to Find Skewers in NYC | Eater NY

"Old and new collide on the corner of 39th Avenue and Prince Street in a gentrifying downtown Flushing. At a diagonal from the shiny and spacious 1392, the Juewei BBQ cart (originally Fat Ni BBQ) has been tempting scores of pedestrians to line up for their grilled skewers since 2012. Most of the skewers here are $2 and include lamb, chicken gizzard, enoki mushroom, and stinky tofu. The two partners run a no-nonsense assembly line moving the skewers to the right as they’re cooked." - Caroline Shin

Wow!!! These skewers were really, really good! I tried the lamb and beef, with each costing two dollars. The lamb was somewhat gamey in a good way, and the beef was softer, which some pieces in particular melting in my mouth for a pleasant surprise. The spice flavoring worked well for both and left a great aftertaste. Good amount of crispiness. Quick service. Would definitely come back! I was so hungry I didn't take a picture, but here's an image of the subway floor for your benefit.

Best bbq skewers around!!! Always love stopping by this cart when I stay in Flushing!! Update…Hands down the best food cart anywhere!! I just returned to Flushing at the end of January to the beginning of February to celebrate the New Year and these people were out in the freezing cold weather and snow to serve their loyal customers!!! You guys are AWESOME!! I can’t wait to return!

This may actually be the best food cart in NYC... 2$ gets you a wide assortment of freshly grilled skewers... my favorites are the lamb and chicken hearts, (just spicy enough), but I need to try them all! Nice guys, too.

We ordered lamb, beef, and enoki mushroom skewers. The spice mixture is great! There’s also a really nice smoky flavor that has permeated the meat. The lamb is very good, but I liked the enoki mushroom just as much because it soaks up the spice mixture even more.

These were mindblowingly good!! Highly recommend the lamb. The beef is still amazing, though!

Love grabbing skewers here for a late night snack and how you can grab an assortment of different types.

This was my first flushing BBQ cart and I can definitely say I am now hooked and will be trying others. I had just left Izakaya Nana and Jue Wei cart's skewers are imo on par with those of expensive restaurants. The menu was STILL so extensive at near closing time (12:30 AM). $2 per skewer was so reasonably priced. The level of spice and smoky flavor was pretty much spot on to what you would get in China. If it's late at night, park on Prince St as there were nosy traffic cops snooping around 39th Ave.
