"The nation’s finest pork brands cascade across the menu, so you can choose the type and grade of pork that suits you best. The best is the ‘jukusei-buta’ aged pork that gives the shop its name. Sourced from a butcher in Fushimi, the pork this restaurant handles is rested to enhance its flavour. The plaque on the wall says, ‘Timing is everything’; the pork is deep-fried twice in low-temperature oil, the cooking time expertly judged. Pork katsu curry, seasoned with ginger and spices, is also tempting." - Michelin Inspector

Maybe this was the best donkatsu of my life?! Fairly close to get number 1 spot... The question is, is it worth 3500 - 4700 yen for an OK sized meal (no drinks included)? I need to try their non specials that are ranging at 2500 to make a fair comparison. Other than that all sauces were amazing and everything was super fresh. Expect a line even at 2pm...

Omg this is the best pork Katsu I’ve ever had. Easily the best. They were sold out of their extra-premium but I had their premium and it was bloody good. Even their regular is super duper good. Eat here. Also, it’s kind of away from the city center so the queues aren’t very long. No need to reserve. Just show up and wait. I started waiting at 4:40pm and I was first in. Croquettes are alright - good texture but not really comparable to the cutlets.

The tonkatsu was huge, tender and tasty! The miso soup was packed with ingredients. If you order a set, you get refills of rice, shredded cabbage, and soup. The crab croquette is really good! The menu is only in Japanese, so using a translation app helps. The staff were super sweet and did their best to explain things. The place can get quite busy, so you might have to wait a bit.

Great Tonkatsu. Cooked perfectly so the meat was tender and moist. The soup was really good with lots of veggies and pork meat. Nice service. Need reservations otherwise had to wait a long time

Excellent katsu. Chose max grade pork, and the price is a bit higher side but worth! max grade katsu gives you real masterd, which makes the plate extraordinal.

No one can speak English here and all menu is Japanese but pleae do not let it stop you from the very good Tonkatsu. Because all of it is in Japanese so the luck may be needed a little bit but even cannot speak English but staffs are very kind and try to communicate with us in English. The tongkatsu is very good. Highly recommend!!!!
