Google
I loved the vegetarian French onion soup. It’s uncommon to find a vegetarian version and it was so warm and rich. Service was great. The only minor negative feedback is the cocktails were fine so I’d stick with wine and the tv at the bar was a bit off for a bistro. It changed the vibe.

Google
Cozy spot with great food! Jules Bistro on Queen West in Toronto is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is friendly. The food is consistently delicious, with generous portions. Highly recommend for a night out or casual dinner. Only deducted a star for minor ambiance tweaks, but overall a great experience. Will definitely return!

Google
Came out for the Tuesday steak special and it certainly did not disappoint. It was delicious with tender, flavourful cuts that are excellent quality for the price. Cocktails were also really good. The service was spot-on, and the staff were all friendly, very attentive, and eager to help. It’s a popular spot, so making a reservation in advance is definitely recommended if you want to avoid a long wait.

Google
Went for the Tuesday special ($59) • 24 oz steak • fries • salad (upgraded to Cesar salad for $5.50) • peppercorn sauce (feature item for additional $3.50) Great value meal for two people to share on occasion. Would definitely come back again on a Tuesday. Peppercorn sauce is not needed but adds a little variety. Also ordered PEI oysters for $3 each (min. 6) which was on feature. It was good but really small.

Google
We had a lovely anniversary dinner at Jules Bistro and were so impressed with their Tuesday côtes de bœuf special — such a great deal for the quality and portion! The beef was flavourful, and their fries are absolutely addictive — we’re definitely swapping the salad for extra fries next time! The service was warm and welcoming. The patio looked really charming, and we’re hoping to snag a table there on our next visit — already planning to come back with friends! Highly recommend for a cozy and satisfying French bistro experience in the city. 🍷🍟🥩

Google
Came here and had the chance to sit on their outside patio space which is conveniently covered incase the weather changes! They do deals on Tuesdays and we will be coming back for this. We came on Friday, relatively easy to get seated but I would recommend booking to be safe. We had their steak frites, burger of the day, and octopus. All were delicious. Must say the fries impress me the most. Would say hands down some of the best fries I’ve had in the city!! Would return!

Google
Food was meh. Cocktails were delicious though. Patio was pretty. However the guests next to us got quite rowdy after a few drinks and we had to leave to continue our conversation. Would’ve stayed for a few more drinks.

Google
The half price steak frites was great. Good portion and easy to enjoy. Escargots are also great with the mushrooms, unique and tasty preparation.

Yelp
Onion soup was vegetarian but still pretty good. It was lighter than usual & the toast was soaked through. There was quite a bit of cheese & onion. Côté de boeuf was simply cooked but good with good meat quality & cooked to specifications. Fries were pretty good - almost like McDonald's fries. Salad was decent. It being 50% off on Tuesdays was great value

Yelp
Took my partner here on a surprise date because we heard about the Tuesday special (half-price Côte de Bœuf platter). The interior was very pretty. I particularly loved their wall menu. While the service in the beginning was very accommodating and prompt, towards the middle to the end, it was quite hard to call them over. Even just to ask for water and a takeout sauce, it took quite sometime. In terms of the food, we ordered the half-price Côte de Bœuf platter with a Caesar salad , tuna tartare and escargot. For the steak we requested rare, but found it to be a little too rare as many parts were tough and chewy. But, I will say they seasoned well. The waitress encouraged us to get the chimichuri, insisting that it was delicious, but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. We were anticipating fresh, but it tasted solely like oil. As for the tuna and escargot, both were ok, but we did find the bread that it came with, to be more than hard. It actually hurt to bite through. Overall, this experience felt like it fell short, especially since there was so much hype.

Yelp
Went to Jules bistro for a special surprise date dinner. At first service was very good. We had people check up on us. After placing the order, it was hard to get somebody's attention to help refill our water. Or we have to ask for some sauce. The escargot honestly wasn't not very good. The mushrooms overpowered the taste and it just felt like we were eating some sort of stir fried mushroom sauce. 5/10 The next side was the tuna tartare which was very good, but the baguette was a very, very, very hard. We both had a really big laugh on how hard it was. If it was served with some softer bread or not as toasted it would've been a 10 out of 10 side but with the baguettes served as at once I would say it's a 7/10. Maybe bring your own bread And for our main dish, we had a big steak with a Caesar salad and chimichurri sauce. I am pretty picky with my steaks. We asked for our steaks to be medium, rare more on the rare side. We prefer it not to be overcooked. The edges of our steak were really good. They were spot on on the medium rare. In the center, though it was rare borderline raw. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get anybody's attention and we were starving. So I had the less cooked pieces while my significant other had the more cooked ones. The chimichurri did not taste super fresh unfortunately heavy on the garlic and the oil very light herb taste. The fries were very nice. Do you wish we had got a little bit more to be proportionate with the steak. For special night out, I do recommend this place not for the sides, but just for the steak. It is a little hard to get some waiters or waitresses attention. But I think the food is worth it.

Yelp
I had a Marseilles Mule. I didn't think it was anything special and told the server. I followed that up with a Moscow Mule which was marginally better but ideally should be served in a copper mug. We enjoyed the last six oysters for an appetizer. Also had the salmon tartare ( main size) as an appetizer too. It was good. It's Tuesday night and that means it's 1/2 off Côte de Beouf. It's a AAA 24 oz. rib-eye. I thought it was cooked to perfection as I had stated I wanted it medium rare. In fact I thought it was the best prepared rib-eye I've ever had. I only seasoned the steak with the peppercorn sauce that accompanied it.. I try to be mindful most times of consuming low/no salt if possible. I noticed other diners overwhelmingly were enjoying this same dish. It was served with French fries and salad. Was the steak worth paying full price of $118 on any other night outside of Tuesday? Probably not but it was a good piece of meat. They did pre-slice it for you which I'm not a fan of but was presented well. This came with a bone. Despite certain criticisms I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment for Tuesday night! The ambiance was cozy. The service was welcoming.

Yelp
FIRST OFF 7/10 for FOOD. Rounded up to 4 stars due to service being nice and the deal is good. 50% off Original price is $120 so $60 is special price. Cote De Boeuf on tuesdays is definitely a steal! The platter is good enough to share between 2 people, comes with french fries and spring salad. Upgrade to caesar for $5. Felt like the appetizers and mains were lacking, for apps we got the bone marrow on special and beef tartare. Both didn't taste flavourful and not super refreshing. Kind of was easy to get a reservation as long as you get a week before or you can walk in, saw a few seats at the bar could possibly walk in? The interior is a bit dark with a french interior. Open concept kitchen and bar. Restroom was clean and downstairs! Not sure if I would go back, only would go back for if my friends would really wanna go, as I had better steak elsewhere. But the deal is super good for what it is. Steak was lacking salt and flavour.
google avatar

Cindy A.

Yelp
My friends and I came here on Tuesday for their 50% off special on the cote de beouf (normally $120). It's perfect to share between two people as the portions are massive! The steak was well cooked but lacked a bit of seasoning but we asked for some salt and that helped with the flavouring! You also have the option to upgrade your salad to a Caesar for $5 which we did not one of the orders. We also got their bone marrow (special) app and beef tartare. Both were delicious but nothing extraordinary. Our server was extremely nice and friendly attentive to us which helped me have a higher rating for the restaurant. The restaurant had a decent amount of seating both regular and bar seats! Overall I would definitely come back again for the special as it's an amazing deal!

Yelp
Jules Bistro is simply outstanding. The steak is always cooked to perfection and full of flavor, easily the best in Toronto. Llyes and his team deliver impeccable service, warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Every visit feels like a special occasion. The owner hangs-out there too, which is pretty cool!

Yelp
Absolutely loved my experience at Jules Bistro! This place is a cute little spot for a intimate dinner or drinks - located right on queen st w near trinity bellwoods, it's easy to get to and not super crazy packed on the street like king west (barf) We booked the bar and honestly.. there is nothing quite like steak frites at a bar! Our bartender, Ellie was sweet, kind and attentive. Not to mention she nailed every single drink we ordered. The dirty martinis were absolutely divine, and you know it's made with high quality liquour because my head isn't pounding this morning. The spicy marg was also great! Their bar area is so cute with all the fixings. The escargot came with a really creamy mushroom sauce - unusual but I vibed with it and it was really delicious! I had the steak frites as well which came in a huge portion! They perfected the rareness of the steak and everything was 10/10. I think this place is amazing - and I'll def be back!

Yelp
Came here for the Tuesday special where the steak frites for two is about $50 (Half Price). We will start with the tables. Service was good but we were seated at a table where there were small drips of water leaking directly above the table. We noticed it when we got our soup and requested to move. That was fine but another couple got seated at the same table with the problem. Instead of avoiding it they allowed them and eventually they noticed and had water dripping over their food. For the food. The French onion soup was good we enjoyed it. Great flavour and cheesy with the toasted bread. The steak was overly salty and all we tasted was salt. That unfortunately ruined the steak for us. Getting a seat here took us to book a month in advance as well. They didn't do any walk in for last minute cancellations.

Yelp
We came here for the Tuesday special but we left kind of disappointed. The server was really good and our server was mostly ok. He did mess up on a cocktail that I ordered and gave me wine instead. The food itself was meh. The steak was overly salty, where we had to chuck it down with water. It also had a lot of fatty pieces. Their French onion soup was really good. Would recommend that. One of the most disappointing things was the vent was dripping water down while we were dinning in. They switched our table upon request. We thought they weren't going to seat anyone to that table anymore after notifying them, but nope, they continue to seat people there, and that couple also requested to be moved. That's tells a lot for a restaurant. If they know something wasn't going well but will continue to seat propel there, is crazy. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cute. It felt cozy, but it does get pretty loud.

Yelp
First time trying Jules bistro and it was pretty good. The place gets packed on Tuesdays because of the specials so make a reso or come early. We got here at opening and were lucky we got a table right away. We had the cote de boeuf, the medium rare steak was packed with flavour but a little overdone. Overall we enjoyed, it's a very cute date spot.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday evening for their famous steak frites, and it did not disappoint. Went to the Trinity Bellwoods location with a reservation. Was greeted with friendly service,a very cozy and relaxing atmosphere, and ordered the following: Steak Frites - Sliced 6 oz. Sirloin Steak served with fries and salad. The meat was tender and juicy, and was cooked and flavoured well. It also had ketchup/garlic aioli dip on the side. Its a must order Saute de Poulet - Sliced Chicken Breast in a bacon, mushroom cream sauce. It was delicious and their homemade cream sauce perfectly goes well with the chicken breast. Highly recommend too if you are looking for something outside of steak. French Onion Soup - also tried their freshly made French onion soup. Rich with broiled onions covered with croutons and cheese on top. Highly recommend this place and already made reservations for their Tuesday special to try their côte de boeuf platter at 50% off (normal price is $98). Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Always love Jules Bistro, the cote de beouf is amazing! I always upgrade to Caesar salad (it's around $3) and it's half price on Tuesdays (around $60). Can easily feed 2 no problem, especially with the mountain of fries. Service is great and quick, but reservations for Tuesdays need to be made around 2-3 weeks in advance. Totally worth it though as they're always great!!
google avatar

Hetal M.

Yelp
We came here without a reservation and we're lucky enough to be seated at the bar in the far right corner right. We were handed menus and waters right away and then left for a good 15 minutes before we asked for service. Did me know the owner was sitting right across from us at the bar and wasn't very attentive or conversational. I give this place a two star rating because the steak was delicious. Everything else could've been improved. We were there was a miniature rendering that someone had created of the restaurant and next to it was an album that we asked if we were able to flip through. Both of our surprises recognize an individual who grew up with as one of the photos and when we asked the owner, he shrugged his shoulders and said yes, I know about individual and walked away. We found his attitude to be so dismissive because we thought it would've been a great opportunity to strike a conversation with patron at the bar. Even With the half-price option, I would not return..

Yelp
Jules Bistro is a French restaurant with two locations in the city. We went to their Trinity Bellwoods location for their Tuesday night special which is 50% off Côte de Boeuf. We got lucky that we were able to snag a last-minute reservation for 4 the day of, especially after this deal went viral on social media. The ambiance is very cozy though the tables were quite close together so it was a bit cramped walking through the tables. What we got: - Côte de Boeuf Platter (24 oz. AAA Grade Ribeye, Salad, Fries) - Peppercorn Sauce Final Thoughts: Our party of 4 split two orders of the Côte de Boeuf platter and it was great! Came with a side of fries, a small salad, mayo/ketchup for dipping, and the steak was cooked to medium-rare. I think it was good, but I probably wouldn't pay full price for this dish. Depending on your appetite this may not be enough food either. Each platter was split between two girls who also ordered drinks, but we left with room for dessert after. The peppercorn sauce was an extra $5 and it was good to try but for the price I could do without. Great date night spot for something special, but doesn't make my list of go-to places.
google avatar

Patricia B.

Yelp
I've only ever exclusively come here on a Tuesday for their 50% off côte de beouf and honestly it's so worth it. The platter comes with a AAA grade ribeye steak, these crispy fries (with a ketchup/garlic aioli dip) and salad! The platter is quite filling in my option and is definitely meant for two. That being said, the combination of flavours makes this meal so delicious that sometimes I'm tempted to have it all for myself. I've tried a few of the desserts here (the tiramisu and tarts du jour) and I always seem to be disappointed with them. Maybe because the platter is a hard act to follow? The desserts aren't bad by any means, just a bit bland for my taste. I think next time I'll just stick to the côte de boeuf. While you maybe think this would make an ideal date spot, I will say that the place is super cozy, almost too cozy for my liking. It can get cramped on Tuesdays but I mean, with that kind of deal, it kind of makes sense. If you decide to go, make sure to plan it in advance. They are almost always fully booked on Tuesdays and often times you have to reserve weeks in advance to get a spot.

Yelp
Its "The 6" time, and I'd like to share w/ you the places we ate at, and visited while we were in Toronto. Jules is a French bistro located West of the Entertainment District where we stayed. After a late arriving flight, taking a train fr YYZ to DT Toronto, a taxi to the hotel, and an Uber to Jules, we wanted a real meal. We arrived @ 9:40ish thinking they closed at midnight. Luckily for us they said we could order. I ordered the salmon frites, while she had the steak frites (no picture). This dish hit the spot for me. The salmon was fresh, nicely seasoned and moist. Likewise, the frites were GBD and plentiful. The salad on the side was a nice surprise to add some roughage. I had a bite of the steak and it too was nicely seasoned, and a good cut of meat. I thought the pricing was very reasonable. Regarding the ambiance, its very quaint & loud in here. As you enter, there is a short bar to your right. The tables are towards the rear, and they have space for larger groups. Quentin was our primary guy, and he was so friendly and helpful. The fellow at the bar was also super nice, as was the remainder of the staff. I told my travel companion that I wanted to have our first meal at Jules, bc I looked at the menu and read the reviews. They exceeded expectations, and made us feel so comfortable.
google avatar

Rui M.

Yelp
Came here with a couple friends to try out the Tuesday deal of half price cote do boeuf and it was absolutely worth it. Upon walking into the restaurant you notice that it's very lively and everyone's having a good time. It's nicely lit, and there's a lot of seating inside, but there's also some patio seating as well for people that are looking to sit outside. We got a couple appetizers; octopus and mussels, and then the cote du boeuf as our main. The appetizers were pretty good, but the main focus of the meal was definitely the steak. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned very nicely. Overall everything tasted really delicious and I highly recommend checking out the Tuesday deal.
google avatar

Harshini R.

Yelp
I've been here twice, and both times for their half off cote de beouf Tuesdays. I wanted to give it one more chance after the first time, but I won't ever go back. The staff are very sweet but the steak isn't worth even the half off price. The cut of meat isn't great and had a ton of tendons running through them and it's not the most tender. The tarte tartin is also pretty terrible, but the crème brûlée was the one really nice thing I've had there.
google avatar

Claudine L.

Yelp
Finally got to come here again after two years. My partner and I really enjoyed the food the first time we went so we've been wanting to go. We went to a different location before and this one had a cute French bistro feeling to it. It wasn't too busy on a Monday night and there were only a few tables (I believe they also have a back patio). We grabbed the cote de beouf and some drinks as well. The steak came with salad and fries. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned well (although I did find some parts to be slightly salty). Was surprised how the fries stayed crispy despite being under the steak. They gave us such a huge piece that we didn't have room for dessert. Would definitely come back here again.

C K.

Yelp
Steak was very tough and dry but our server was very kind and gave us great recommendations :)

Yelp
I love steak frites! The best thing about Jules is that they have a special on Tuesday where the côte de bouef is 50% off. The normal price is $98 so imagine all the value you get on a Tuesday! If you're planning to come on a Tuesday, you need to book in advance... and by advance I mean like a month LOL. It's VERY popular. If you look on the online booking portal, it's usually booked weeks in advance. The restaurant is also very cramped. Though it's kind of expected considering how popular it is. You'll probably find yourself hearing other conversations so definitely not the place to gossip. The servers are very attentive though! Now to the food. The steak is amazing. The portions are big enough to feed 2 people, and even 3. I think the steak is very well cooked and nicely seasoned as well. Though, my partner did mention she feels as if the steak does need more salt. The frites are very thin and crispy, just how I like it. We did have some crème brûlée for desert, though it was a bit bland to me. Nothing to rave about. Overall, it's amazing value if you come on a Tuesday.

Yelp
Issa vibe, is what the kids say. The ambiance at this place is perfect. Cozy. Cosmopolitan. Alive. Sexy. I don't know if it was the nostalgia of being on Queen West after so long or the perfect lighting, or the sophisticated cacophony, or the in-crowd vibe, but Jules Bistro was a hive of coolness tonight. It wasn't even because I was there...that usually deducts points on the cool scale, it was just the moment, intersected with a well appointed space and human energy. And the food, pray tell? Scallop appetizer: Beautiful. Steak frites: The frites were next level. Think McDonald's but if it didn't make you regret it after ten minutes. Maybe they do them in duck fat or something but they were crisp without being greasy, savoury without being too salty, and addictive without being obscene. The 6oz sirloin was cooked nicely but had gristle that was too hard to handle. Maybe not rendered fully or something...it detracted from what was an otherwise decent steak. At $30, it was priced fairly...any more and I would have been annoyed with the proportion that was inedible because of the gristle. My dining companions had the pickerel special, which they enjoyed and looked delicious. It was pricey at $44 but they didn't complain. Overall, the food and the service were good but took a back seat to the ambiance. I'll be back to soak it all in. A la prochaine, cher Jules

Yelp
If I could give more than 5 stars I would... Because we were coming here for the Tuesday half price cote de boeuf, we had to make the reservation a few weeks in advance. The location is bit out of the way from downtown core but the trek is totally worth it! We got the cote de boeuf cooked medium rare with mushroom truffle sauce, it was well seasoned and tender and the fries were super fresh and crispy. The waitress also recommended the mussels special which was really delicious as well. We will definitely be coming back again!

Yelp
This is probably my favourite restaurant in Toronto that I've been to in a while. I came here for dinner with my bf and we got oysters and escargot for appetizers. It was both our first time trying escargot. I was a bit hesitant as I wasn't sure I would like the texture but it was prepared very well. The sauce it came in was really good and we liked how it came with mushrooms. For our main we decided to get the rack of lamb to share. The lamb was perfectly cooked and fries reminded us of McDonald's fries but better lol. We both enjoyed our meal and left very satisfied. We look forward to coming back to try their Côte de Boeuf and other appetizers.

Yelp
I have this bistro sitting on my to-try list for the longest time now and finally found the time to try! We got an early dinner reservation after watching a musical and when we arrived, the host took us to our table which was at the back patio. I asked whether it would be possible to be seated inside since it was pretty hot and she was kind enough to find space. We decided on the escagot as appetizer and Cote de boeuf for the main to share. I had never had escargot served in cream sauce before and was a little hesitant. However, I was happy with what was served. The cream sauce wasn't too overpowering and was well seasoned. Cote de boeuf was nicely done as well. Portion wise, it was plenty for 2 girls to share. The ribeye came in medium rare as ordered, and the house salad and fries were awesome pairing. Another plus point for me was the tomato that came with the Cote de Boeuf, it was nicely seasoned but the tomato itself was sweet!
google avatar

Reh L.

Yelp
Jules Bistro feels like one of the few authentically french restaurants in Toronto - even all of the servers spoke french which was pretty cool. They have a nice bar to sit at for dinner, so I stopped by with a friend to try the steak frites. It was very solid all around, though would've been perfect with a bit more butter on the steak. But the highlight for me was the creme brûlée which was delicious!
google avatar

Tammy C.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. I ordered the steak frites. Perfectly cooked. Fries are beautifully seasoned. This was my second time here. Tip: book your reservations online

D G.

Yelp
Used to go there often. Went back recently....terrible! Boiled steak, frozen fries, lousy service. Don't know if there is a new owner, or they just got really lazy. Really expensive for mediocre food/service/ambiance. I won't go back--don't waste your $$

Yelp
Coute de beauf is incredible!! Had the frog legs and lamb chops and the shrimp as well! Amazing service and ambience. I recommend the patio in the summers
google avatar

Christina Y.

Yelp
Amazing food and reasonable prices! It's so hard to find steak frites for under $30 these days. Portions are also huge and service is great. Can't say enough good things about Jules Bistro!
google avatar

Rehab K.

Yelp
Such a cute little covid-friendly heated patio ... the service and food were both great end very well priced for the experience! The menu is quite limited but highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for some classics and good wine! Also - they have the best fries I've ever had ... it was crazy good!
google avatar

Will T.

Yelp
Dined here twice and both during COVID times. Food: Nice French inspirations. The French Onion soup is absolutely sinfully delicious. My favourite appetizer used to be the octopus but since COVID, it's gotten too pricey for me at least. The steak frites are a staple and a solid choice for a main. Atmosphere: cozy and LOUD space, always very noisy so if you're looking for quiet, dine at the bar or front. Service: Great, no complaints. Dinner for 2 with no drinks is about $100. I do miss the Spadina location with the special chef seating... RIP Overall, SOLID 4 stars and still highly recommend a try. Sending my love Jules!

Yelp
Gotta love Tuesday's at Jules bistro!!!! Tuesday special was the cote de boeuf for $35. It was delicious !!! Grilled 24oz AAA grade rib-eye with mixed greens, frites serve on baguette. We shared this dish among two people and it was plenty of food! We also ordered grilled octopus as a apetitizer. I didn't realize it was so busy for a 530-6pm dinner time slot, but we still enjoyed the food and service. Our server was very polite and friendly and the service was very welcoming. The restaurant was small but cozy. It was open concept kitchen so you can see the cooks making the food.

Yelp
It's always a treat when you can go to a new place to eat. For foodies (this covers Yelpers, IG-ers, TripAdvisors, Google Guides...) it's what we live for. Many times it's a hit and sometimes it can be a miserable miss. I'm usually tied to the burb-ish world of dumplings, shawarma, and the usual boring LBDM. For those, by now, who aren't familiar with my terminology, it's the Little Black Dress Mafia...aka...Joey, Moxie's, Earls, Chop...and the like. Yeah...the luck of the draw for living on the Hill and have basically been to most places. Nonetheless, I'm fortunate as I get to be in different part of the 416/905. I happen to be by the lake and got to catch up at Jules Bistro for dinner. The bistro is located on cool Queen West area; where a small but excellent grouping of restaurant exists, across the street from the Candy Factory Loft. Jules is unassuming and can be overlooked, as you walk by the dark tiled entry way of the small door and glass storefront. Enter into an intimate and busy restaurant, with a large bar to the right, and the open kitchen to the back. If you are wondering what is on the menu for the night, look no further than the blackboard with meticulous chalk-menship. Place your order and watch the cooks perform their magic. The standout on the board is the Prix-Fixe offer. The food is generously plated for a downtown bistro. My choices would be the Carpaccio, Rack of Lamb (please note...I am not a fan of lamb but I loved it here!), and any of the deserts. The busiest man at the restaurant will be David, the owner. A down to earth man offering out of this world food in his tiny universe of Jules Bistro! Cheers!

Yelp
Jules Bistro is definitely on my list of must try restaurants in Toronto after experiencing such a great time during my visit. I came with a large crowd of 14 for dinner and the waiters and the owner David were super accommodating with our table. And since we had reserved ahead, we were promptly seated at a big table upon arrival. Environment: The restaurant can be sectioned into 4 areas in total. 1) Upon entering the door, you would first see the bar, where there are ample amount drinks to select from and a few stools at customers. 2) A bit further in is the main dining area with table. They are able to accommodate big and small groups and the ambiance is great for date nights, holiday parties, and other special occasions or gatherings. 3) Next is the open kitchen where you can watch the amazing chefs creating your food, and even though it is an open kitchen, the ventilation is great such that you won't smell any of the grease. 4) Lastly, at the back, they have a really nice and spacious patio space for the warmer months. They also have heat lamps at the back patio for the spring and fall season as well. Food: Here is the highlight of the visit! Since we were such a big group, we ordered practically everything on the menu. Appetizer: The pan-seared scallop was my favourite of all as the scallops were huge and you can tell they were really fresh as it had a hint of sweetness. Honorable mentions to the Beef Carpaccio, Tiger Shrimps, and the Escargot. Main: Jules is well-know for their platters that are big enough to share with 2-3 people, and we decided to get one of each to share with the whole table. The Cote de Boeuf was their signature dish and I definitely agree because the beef was cooked to a perfect medium rare and it was sooooo tender and juicy with amazing flavours. However, my vote for my favourite dish of the night would still have to be the Tender Duck Breast, as it had the best flavour overall. Honourable mentions to the Cornish Hen and the Rack of Lamb, which were both awesome dishes and worth trying. Dessert: Jules offers a few Pie of the Day specials, which during our visit I tried the Peach pie and it was amazingly made with fresh ripe peaches. I also got to try the chocolate mousse and the Creme Brule as well, and I must say, the desserts at Jules did not disappoint! Service: Everyone at Jules Bistro was phenomenal! David and the team were super attentive to our table and made sure the food was served and everybody's request was handled timely. They were friendly throughout and kept an upbeat attitude, which made the entire visit even more fantastic. Much appreciated for everyone at Jules for working hard to make it an unforgetable holiday dinner for all of us.

Yelp
Went to try out Jules Bistro again with a group of friends. The first time I went I got the Côte de Boeuf to share with a friend. The beef was cooked perfectly with ample amounts of flavour, it is served with fries, ketchup, mayo made from scratch and a lightly dressed salad. I really enjoyed the fact that my salad is not swimming in dressing and it tasted light and refreshing compared to the flavourful beef. We both were surprised at how delicious the beef was. I should've came back earlier. The second time with a group of friends we ordered a few appetizers such as the grilled octopus, seared scallops, spicy tiger shrimps, the Brandy escargot in cream and with mushrooms all with toasted baguette. The octopus was nicely cooked with a nice little char on the outside to give it more flavour. The seared scallops we're melt in your mouth and sweet, perfect with that crispy toasted baguette. The shrimps had a nice kick to it and those meaty escargot were so creamy and tasty! For mains we shared the Côte de Boeuf, rack of lamb, tender duck breast, and the poulet roti which is the toasted Cornish hen. All mains are served with frites, Ratatouille, mixed greens and spiced mayo. My goodness the flavour oozing out of that tender duck breast that soaked into the thin crisp baguette was to die for! I'm glad they had the baguette underneath to catch all that delicious juice that came out of the duck. The beef was perfectly cooked and delicious and tender. The lamb was tender and quite meaty as well. The Cornish hen was well seasoned and tasty. I also really enjoyed the Ratatouille, such a great and flavourful way to cook veggies. I would definitely recommend this place as the service and cook staff were amazing and so passionate about their job! The waitress did an amazing job at describing all the items that were brought out for us. I was also able to meet the owner David, he is such a lovely man and I will be back again for sure! By the way Tuesdays they have half price Cute de Boeuf! Either grab a date, a friend, a family member or a super hungry tummy and head over for a great deal $35? Can't go wrong with that price in my opinion. I'd come even if it wasn't half price Tuesdays as they have a great prix fix menu!

Yelp
Came here on a weekday night with some friends at this beautiful French restaurant. Quite romantic setting inside as the lights were dimmed and is the perfect place to have a romantic dinner. For those who are driving, there is plenty of parking on the neighbouring streets. I like that they have a three-course prix fixe menu for $48.95 per person where you get to try an appetizer, main, and dessert. I suggest making a reservation as the restaurant got pretty throughout the night. I enjoyed the rack of lamb and cote de boeuf as it was very tender and well seasoned. They have a vast red/white wine selection so there is something for everyone. Also on every Tuesday they offer the cote de boeuf sharing platter for half price! For dessert, I loved the creme brulee - simple yet delicious! I will definitely be back as I loved everything and felt like I was transported to France without having to leave Toronto.

Yelp
*PRE COVID* A nice small restaurant that specialises in French cuisine as the name implies. Having had the chance to go several times, I can say the experience exceptional everytime. After the first time I went, I had to go back with friends to share the experience. Both times I went, I ordered the Cote de Boeuf multi course meals which comes with a choice of appetizer, 24 oz ribeye steak main, fries, salad, and dessert for two. Beef cooked to medium-rare perfection and seasoned perfectly. Beautifully plated and large servings, you definitely will not be disappointed. It truly is a mouth watering sight. Though the menu says that the the multi course is meant for 2, you can easily split it between 4 people. Fantastic and attentive service is always welcome and the atmosphere is great. Having had the chance to be seated outdoors, I can say that you definitely should too if you can. One of my favourite finds of the year for sure!

Yelp
Cute, chic, small Bistro with good food! The vibe in this Bistro is really nice with friendly staff. My friend and I split the chicken/mushroom/tomato/cheese crepe and Arrogant burger for dinner. It really hit the spot! Great flavour harmony. The dishes came with a side of a lightly dressed salad and thin, crispy fries. The Burger's mustard dressing was a bit aggressive, but otherwise a delicious fresh burger. they grilled it right in front of us at the bar, which was very cool! Together, they were enough to satisfy the appetite, however, if you just ordered the crepe, I think it is more fitting for lunch. Overall, great Bistro vibes and good food!

Yelp
Known for their steak frites or cote de boef, It really lives up to the hype. The steak was well seasoned and juicy, the fries reminded me of McDonald's fries but better Also had the grilled octopus, tuna tartare and scallops. The scallops were delicious but the octopus was average and a bit small in terms of portion. The tartare was missing a kick and fish wasn't as fresh as I'd like Would come back just for the steak frites next time!

Yelp
Went there to celebrate our three daughters birthdays. Food was acceptable, nothing special. Service was acceptable, the place was half full. The problem was that our party of six was automatically charged a 20% gratuity (after HST, no less) and was told it was their rule for parties of six or more. I know after COVID, we all got generous with gratuities, but COVID is over and restaurant prices have been increasing higher than inflation. Now these greedy restaurants are expecting these inflated gratuities. Let's go back to the traditional 10-15%. My complaint is that when I asked the server to remove the gratuity so that I could add what I wanted to give, he argued with me. It wasn't until I refused to pay the bill that he finally relented.

Yelp
My boyfriend took me here for Valentine's Day! It felt very French and authentic. The server was so friendly and polite especially since we tasted several wines before ordering our half litre bottle. Perfect night out and portion size was quite big! Also my salmon was cooked excellently! Not overcooked at all.

Yelp
The service is very good here and the place is super cute and quaint. This is not really french food, so many will be disappointed if they come for that. The steak frites is basically steak and American fries and the steak is average. I ordered the salmon and sadly it was over cooked. The fries are average and the ratatouille was fine. The prices are reasonable. I wanted to upgrade the prix fix dessert for the chocolate crepe, but they didn't have it available which I found a Little odd seeing it was on the other menu and a Friday evening at 7pm (not sure if they ran out so early?) Also, we saw that they were on a "new patios in toronto" list and wanted to check it out. The patio didn't have any ventilation and so it was quite stuffy unless the gate was open when staff went out to the back.

Yelp
Enjoyed my experience at this establishment Saturday sept 26. Our server was Jean. He provided friendly and accommodating service. We enjoyed the back covered patio - it has a cool near vibe that is well lit and clean. Pricing is fair and we had some apps and everything was cooked as directed. Can't wait to go back! Yelp
Classic French bistro, great food, attentive service. Good wine list, and our server was spot on with their recommendation.

Yelp
From the restaurant's name - Jules Bistro, I'm sure that you can tell it's a small French restaurant. They offer a wide variety of food to choose from - salad, soup, seafood and steak. The good thing here was that they had different kinds of platters for sharing, including a Prix-fixed menu. Jules Bistro now has three locations: Spadina, Queen St West and Leslieville. I walked past the Spadina location many times and wanted to check it out. Thanks to my friend who invited me to a wonderful dinner! AMBIANCE (4/5) SERVICE (5/5) This place is the second location on Queen St West. The dining room area was cozy and romantic. The owner, David and his staff welcomed us very warmly and took care of us the entire of dining time. Everyone was friendly and attentive. FOOD (4/5) We were a large group of people. We had almost everything on the menu, started from appetizers such as pan-seared SCALLOPS which were very delicious, Beef/ Salmon and TUNA CARPACCIO, grilled OCTOPUS, brandy ESCARGOT and many other appetizers. However, it's a bit tricky to talk about everything on the menu. Let me focus on the dishes that I was most interested in. "The MEAT PLATTERS!" MEAT PLATTERS (4.5/5). They have four fantastic meat platters; Cote de Boeuf, Ravj of Lamb, Magret de Canard and Whole Grain-fed Cornish Hen. Every platter was presented beautifully and served with fries, toasted baguette, mixed green and ratatouille. - The COTE DE BOEUF (4.5/5) is one of my favourite dishes, also is one of Jules Bistro's most reputable platters. It comes with a 24 oz AAA grade rib-eye, bone-in, sliced and prepared with salt and herbs. The Steak was juicy, flavourful and perfectly seared to medium-rare. I'm not a fan of beef and I prefer my meat to be cooked. However, the Cote de Boeuf was very tasty and it was gone in a second! I was sure that my friends loved it! - Whole Grain-fed Cornish Hen (4.5/5). I love chicken and hen! Some people might prefer to have Beef or Lamb over the Cornish Hen while the others might enjoy the sweet taste of the Cornish Hen instead of those. Somehow I love to have both beef and chicken platters! DESSERT (4/5). They had different kinds of dessert such as Creme Brûlée, Mousse au Chocolate and Blueberry pie, etc. I would recommend you to have the desserts with wine. They have amazing choices for both red and white wine. Especially, the blueberry pie which I would love to have again on the next visit! OVERALL (4.5/5) It was such a great experience! One thing I'm sure about is that they had great service from start to finish. The service was exceptional! Thanks again David and Jules Bistro for the hospitality!

Yelp
Great, relaxed ambience for hanging out with friends and dates over food and drinks. I really love the cozy setting. And the staff at Jules Bistro are great. They are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ask them for recommendations and they were full of suggestions. What I really liked was how passionate they were about their food. My friend and I ordered from the menu prefix for two at $48.95 per person. We chose: The scallop plate for appetizer - tender and savory to the taste. I wanted more as they were delicious. Magnet de Canard for our main - perfectly cooked medium rare duck breast with frites and mixed greens. Since ducks are classified as red meat, I was delighted to see the meat not over-cooked. It was juicy and succulent. The frites were really good as well with spicy mayonnaise for dipping. Creme brulee for dessert - afterall, we were in a French restaurant. I liked how it was not overly sweet. This experience at Jules bistro was amazing for myself. And am super glad my friends persuaded me to come out with them. Will definitely go back again.

Yelp
Our experience was good, it came highly recommended by a few close friends. They all suggested we try the steak & frites, upon arriving to the restaurant it was difficult to resist the pre-fixe menu so we each opted for that. We both went with the French onion soup, which was delicious and unique in that the cheese wasn't baked on top. We also started with the escargot, which was very heavy & rich to start so I'd definitely suggest sharing this item. The steak & frites were great, as was the creme de brûlée & the chocolate mousse dessert. The only item that did not live up to it's reputation was the salmon, it not only smelt a little off but was also overdone in my opinion (I was a little sad I didn't stick with the steak & frites.) The wine list was great, we went with a bottle of their Chardonnay and we loved it! Dry & buttery. All in all, the dishes were good, we both left stuffed and we'd be happy to come back and try some other items on their menu.
