"Swing by Jules for a free slice of crispy, gluten-y or gluten-free pizza — the offer lasts through Wednesday, January 23, but check Instagram to see if the mini chain extends it as the shutdown continues." - Janelle Bitker

Bay Area Restaurants Supporting Government Workers During the Shutdown - Eater SF

"Jules Thin Crust, a pizzeria in Oakland with more locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Jules announced it would give unpaid federal workers and their families a free slice with presentation of a federal ID." - Caleb Pershan

The Best Gluten-Free Pizza in the Bay Area - Eater SF

"Given the high surcharges on gluten-free pies around the Bay Area, Jules Thin Crust easily presents the best deal, with gluten-free crusts only costing 25 to 50 cents extra. Jules makes its own gluten-free dough and rolls it out extra thin. The toppings options are vast, including a lot of vegetarian and vegan combos. GF folks can also pick up crusts for pizza-making parties at home." - Eater Staff

One of the best things crust pizzas in the area. Excellent service, very friendly and patient. All ingredients are local and organic when available. Lots of choices for vegetarians and gluten free as well.

Got the veggie but with no sauce or cheese it tasted like a mediocre salad on bread but with no dressing. Left me sad. Great service though!

I love it! I always thought "why would anyone go to a pizza place that is right across from Zachary's?" I grew up eating Zachary's and am a pretty loyal customer. I kept hearing good things about Jules and even though it took me a while to try it, I eventually did. I love that you can order a bunch of different kinds of pizza and they are all really good. I can eat more than one slice and not feel like I'm over stuffed because the crust is so thin. I've never had to wait to sit down, the food arrives at the table super fast and the staff is really friendly. I will never stop eating a Zachary's, but it's for more of a once in while thing. Jules is a great go to place for a quick, easy, delicious meal. (And they have good beer too)

The pizza crust was thin, and it tasted pretty good, but not a home run. The price, under $4 for a slice, was in line with the local market. Jules is well lit, clean, welcoming, the staff was friendly and helpful. I am also impressed that they opened directly across the street from Zachary's, a local pizza institution. A good and interesting option, but not my top pizza pick for the East Bay.

Very friendly service and pretty pizzas! Came by here for lunch and the chipper woman working the counter let em know the lunch deal: $10 for a salad and a slice of any pizza. Seemed like a good deal to me so I went with it and had the pepperoni and sausage pizza and the kale, goat cheese, and beet salad. The salad was good and a large portion. The pizza was pretty good, though not as interesting tasting as I would have expected. That said, I’ll definitely be back as they had so many different pizzas to try!

One of my favorite pizza places in the area. The pizza comes out fast, but it's better to go earlier in the day when they have more pizzas available to order by the slice. Very fresh ingredients and thin crust. Parking is a struggle in the area, recommend parking a few blocks away in the neighborhoods and walking. It's right next to an awesome ice cream place that is great for dessert!! Order at the counter, so really good for informal groups.

Fun for a uniquely flavored pizza. We also love the salads. Nice selection of draft beer and only $4/pint before 6pm. Often has families with noisy kids so you like that or sit outside where there are two tables in the sun.
