i’m obsessed with desserts and always travel looking for iconic sweets, so i was very excited to try juliana penteado’s pastries. the shop is charming and the service was friendly. the desserts are beautiful and definitely instagram-worthy. however, the matcha and lime tart i had was disappointing. the ingredients and technique are clearly high quality, the tart shell was excellent but the flavor fell flat. everything tasted the same, and i could barely taste the lime. it felt like it lacked nuance and personality. i actually planned to try more, but after the first one, i didn’t feel like ordering another :(((
ps: i decided to update this review because after receiving a reply saying there was no lime in the sweet, i went back and added one of the photos i took inside the store. i had actually returned specifically to take this photo, and it clearly shows that the sweet contained matcha, kiwi, lime, and ginger. despite all that, it tasted of absolutely nothing. i sincerely hope people are open to receiving constructive feedback and use it as an opportunity to improve.
