"Austin restaurant Juliet Italian Kitchen is opening its third location later this year. The restaurant will be found in Georgetown at 701 South Main Street as of October 26. The two-story Old Masonic Lodge building space will be revamped to fit its aesthetic; there will be a bar upstairs and a patio. The menu will include its typical Italian dishes such as pastas, pizzas, and more, all under chef Dane Grogg, plus wines and cocktails. Juliet opened on Barton Springs Road in 2015, expanded into the Arboretum in 2021, and then opened two ghost kitchen restaurants Benvolio’s (in 2021) and Little Juliet in 2022." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
Took my grandmother to this charming Italian restaurant I found online. The customer service was truly excellent. definitely a 10/10. The food, however, was just okay. As a big fan of Italian cuisine, I was hoping for something a bit more flavorful or memorable. Unfortunately, this particular location didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Maybe other locations offer a better experience.

Delicious Italian with a Charming Atmosphere! Juliet Italian Kitchen in Georgetown is a fantastic spot for authentic Italian cuisine with a modern twist. The food is absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. From the handmade pastas to the rich sauces and perfectly cooked proteins, every dish we tried was a hit. The atmosphere is cozy yet stylish, making it perfect for date night, dinner with friends, or a relaxed family outing. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings. You can really tell the staff takes pride in what they do. Highly recommend Juliet for anyone looking for great Italian food in a welcoming, vibrant setting. It’s a real gem in Georgetown!

This was our third visit to the restaurant. The first two experiences were wonderful, but unfortunately, this time was disappointing. We won't be returning. It took quite a while for our waiter to take our drink orders, and the food did not meet our expectations given the prices. For appetizers, we ordered bruschetta and stuffed mushrooms. My husband found the bruschetta lacking, and the stuffed mushrooms were flavorless and quite small. I chose the Pasta Di Mare, which was overly watery and not enjoyable. My husband had the Chicken Parmigiana, but all I recall is that the spaghetti noodles were very thick. He also mentioned that it wasn’t very good. We spent about $160, and it was definitely not worth it.

Enjoyed dinner upstairs for my husband’s birthday. First time dining here, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, delicious meals. They are a scratch kitchen so food is prepared fresh.

Google
Very nice place, friendly staff, good food. We had the lunch specials, sausage and peppers sandwich was good but my partner wasn’t crazy about the club sandwich, it had bacon on it which was quite undercooked. Their homemade chips are quite tasty.

Worst Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. Maybe for those who don’t know Italian cuisine, this is great but we have Italian background so our expectation was high. Place lovely. Service was terrible as our server was not really the “ switched on” type…. Last but not least, food… I ordered eggplant parmigiana and what I got was a slice of thin eggplant embedded in oil with a huge plate of spaghetti…that’s not eggplant parmigiana…all the other dishes were blah… not recommend and def will not never come back

Google
Just a personal preference, not a big fan of a creamy sauce in shrimp scampi. Thought it would be a very light white wine, lemon sauce, but it was creamy. Stuffed mushrooms were pretty good with an artichoke, cheese stuffing. The wine recommended by the waiter was very good, and half price before 6.00.

This review is WELL overdue! I visited Juliet for the first time about a month ago when they were doing a wine tasting showcase. The event was fabulous. The wines, the company, the music, and the snacks were unforgettable, but the best part was after the tasting when I went downstairs for lunch. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by Kevin who asked what I’d like and then quickly showed me he had better things in mind. Few things are more reassuring than a bartender that just GETS his customers. The drinks I had were phenomenal and the pizza I snacked on was delicious. Everyone I met that afternoon was great. My next visit is long overdue, so I can’t wait to see them all again soon!

Yelp
So my wife and I went to Juliet's for our anniversary, and 5 minutes after being seated, we got a call that our dog ate some people medicine, and we had to leave. So why am I writing a review, you might ask? Well, we got him sorted out and ordered takeout and sat down for a drink. They were close to closing and said, "Sure, we could have a drink!" They even comped them with it being our anniversary. The food was delicious when we got home, even though it had sat a while. We had ravioli, rigatoni, and arancini. I figure if the food was that good to go, it's probably even better sitting at a table. That and the incredibly kind staff earn them 4 stars. We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
The bad- it was cold enough to need a jacket while eating. We were seated and a half hour later noticed that other diners were being given bread and oil for dipping. We asked and got the bread. Our order got out of order somehow in the kitchen and it took 45 minutes to get our pizza. The pizza crust SEEMED like it was a premade crust. It was soft and not what I like in a crust. The tomatoes were not fully ripe. (It is January so what do you expect?) The good- the views on the second floor are nice. The toppings of the pizza other than the tomatoes were very good. They realized that it took a long time to get us served and went and checked on a "discount" for the long wait. The final result. We walked up to the manager and finally had to ask for our bill. They realized that this had not gone well and gave us the pizza at no charge. So- I am wiling to say that this simply went off the rails and probably is not normal. Thank you to the manager.

Yelp
Went here for the first time the other day, I thought it was a higher end restaurant from the outside but it was more laid back and family friendly once inside. It's downtown Georgetown so plan accordingly if you are going on a weekend because it does get busy. They have seating on the second floor balcony, outside, and inside. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. I really wanted to love the food but honestly thought it was just okay. I got the mushroom manicotti which was a smaller portion, it comes with 3 stuffed ones in a plate of pesto. The flavors were very mild and I wish the basil of the pesto came through more. We also got the cannoli which were nice and light and crunch but again the pistachio flavor wasn't really coming through. Overall I just wished the flavors were a bit stronger and more established. Might come again and try something else next time.

Yelp
As I said in my first review, the people here are very nice. The food is wonderful and amazing. That atmosphere is gorgeous and there's a patio upstairs on for a nice day. It's decorated very pretty for Christmas and we're enjoying some Bolognese pasta and it's wonderful.

Steve C.

Yelp
The staff was awesome. The food not so much. The calamari was chewy and overcooked and the exact opposite the margarita pizza was undercooked.

Yelp
My wife and I ventured to downtown Georgetown for a much-needed date night, having been too busy with work and family commitments for quite some time. We decided to start our evening at Juliet Italian Kitchen, which seemed like a promising choice. Upon arriving, we noticed that what appeared to be the main entrance was not, as indicated by a sign on the door. The actual entrance is on the side, where you'll see stairs leading to their after-hours venue. The restaurant itself is to the left as you enter, making it easy to find. The hostess warmly welcomed us, and our waiter was very attentive, checking on us regularly. We began with Georgetown's finest water, followed by an old fashioned and a frozen Rosé. For dinner, my wife opted for the vegan Butternut Squash Ravioli, while I chose the Chicken Marsala. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and delicious. We also had Caesar salads, which were equally delightful. The total cost of our meal came to $110 before tip. While it is on the pricier side for two people, I can't complain. The portion sizes were just right for each of us. Overall, I would recommend Juliet Italian Kitchen for a date night or if you're in the mood for some quality Italian cuisine.

Sandra H.

Yelp
Second time here. I love the atmosphere and the food of course is great. I sat at the bar as I didn't have a reservation and didn't want to wait. It can get pretty busy on Fridays. I had such a great time. My food was cooked the way I liked. I asked for medium rare for my tenderloin and it precisely medium rare. It's such a pleasant place for a casual dinner, or meeting with friends or nights out. This is one of my "go-back" places for sure.

Noanya S.

Yelp
Service great food was just OK. I've had better Italian in the area. The lasagna had huge carrot chunks in it, which was off putting. The complementary bread and oil was a hit. The Ravioli with bolognese add bacon was definitely a treat and was recommended by the bartender Overall a fair meal in downtown Georgetown

Yelp
Nice to have a local Italian restaurant in Georgetown. The food is decent and plentiful. It is the place to go when you want regular Italian food. I wouldn't say it's anything special but it's good for being out of Austin. Not being able to eat on the first floor for lunch is troubling as the first floor is bright with better furnishings. Upstairs takes away from the ambience. The limited lunch menu is missing some of my favorite Italian specialties

Mark C.

Yelp
Came here after work one night after the other "Italianish" place in town said they were closing early. We were sat down immediately and given water and those delicious focaccia cubes! Our server was attentive and friendly. I ordered the Red Fish as I've never had it before. The description of risotto on the menu sold it for me. The risotto is authentically "Al Dente" and full of flavor. The asparagus were tender. The redfish was a tad over cooked, but it was crispy and delicious! This dish is a winner!

Yelp
In spite of the earlier negative reviews and negative word of mouth, we decided to give this restaurant a try and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was outstanding, service was excellent and attentive and the wine list was very good. We will be back and correcting the negative word of mouth as much as we can.

Christina G.

Yelp
New location in Georgetown. You've gotta make a resy. We sat upstairs and it was cozy but bright. Not a low light vibe at all. You can tell they are figuring out the service, but it wasn't bad at all. The bread and oil dip was so good! The calamari was good especially the fried jalapeño but fried lemons was weird. Definitely get the meatballs, they were sooooo good! Oh, the wine is a bit pricy and not a lot of by the glass to choose from. Overall, it's a yes to more visits. Looking forward to trying more of the menu!

Yelp
I am excited to have Juliet in Georgetown! I was able to go to dinner yesterday at their grand/ soft opening! The food was as good as the other locations. The staff was super nice, which is on par with most restaurants on the square. Of courses it is the soft opening so there were some hiccups but remember to give some grace! I look forward to many dinners and brunches!

Lance L.

Yelp
We tried Juliet on a Saturday night. it's a solid dinner choice. I had mixed feelings about our evening. It was good, but not sure it's good enough to bring us back. Perhaps these notes will help you have a 5 star experience. Location: 5 right on the square. Walk around and do some window shopping after dinner Atmosphere: 3 it's a bit sterile. Not the typical Italian restaurant setting. It's also very loud. Not a good place for romantic dinner. * *Balcony dinning: 5. If you ever have the chance and the weather is nice, this is a special experience. Very nice! Food: 4 Ravioli: Great Shrimp Fettuccine: Excellent Mushroom Manicotti: Excellent Lasagna: poor- the center was solid pasta Table Bread: Excellent

Yelp
We went here for a birthday lunch. It was our second visit. The first wasn't good AT ALL so we wanted to give them another try. First, I absolutely LOVED the butter lettuce salad! Perfectly dressed and delicious. It made a wonderful lunch. Unfortunately the pesto chicken pasta was not. It was a huge clump of pasta that had obviously sat under the warm light a long time. We had watched everyone around us get served but we weren't worried. That salad! But we won't be back. If an Italian restaurant can't do pasta then it's not for me. And the service was definitely sketchy especially for lunch. We were among the first seated. My husband said a frozen dinner would have been more tasty.

Sara A.

Yelp
Service: good Ambiance: ok Food: not good Price: high for what you actually got A friend and I were spur of the moment looking for an Italian restaurant nearby...we picked Juliet Italian Kitchen. There was no great "Italian food smell" in the restaurant at all. We were seated by the door with a fan standing on a stool, which we quickly turned off. I got eggplant parmigiana which was a slice of eggplant, breaded and fried atop a huge pile of angel hair pasta with jar-tasting sauce on it. My friend got the butternut squash ravioli. They were so so. We both were born and raised on the East coast, so we know good Italian food. This was not good. We decided to cut our losses and leave without ordering dessert, and we went down the street to the cookies and ice cream place. We won't be back.

Taylor L.

Yelp
This place is good, but not exceptional. Would recommend the fried calamari appetizer, the sangria, and Brussel sprouts. The entrees are okay, would not recommend the alfredo.

Lauren B.

Yelp
My FAVORITE place in georgetown. Amazing atmosphere. Comforting staff. Phenomenal food! The mushrooms omg don't get me started. BEST stuffed mushrooms I've ever had.

Adeline C.

Yelp
Well the survive could've have been better. It took 45 mins to get the check and it also took 45 mins to get out 2 coffees. Also it took 20 mins to get a bag to put out to go boxes in. So I think they could've done better.

C P.

Yelp
Went Saturday night. It was terrible. Food had no flavor. It was 6:30 and they were out of lasagna. All appetizer specials and desserts. Second chance. Waste of money.

Dianna W.

Yelp
My husband loved his Chicken Parmesan. Delicious. The lasagna was very dense and dry. Will go back but won't get lasagna. Service was very good. The restaurant was overly bright. Felt like we were at Dennys. I mentioned it to the manager so she was going to dim the lights.

Lauren D.

Yelp
I will absolutely be back! we arrived and were seated right away! we had a table near the back and our server came to greet us within 2 minutes. our server took our drink order and put it in while standing there. we parked somewhat far away but it is on the square and it was a Saturday evening so what did we expect. we got the bread with dip and it was very tasty! it is like a garlic olive oil dip which I found quite tasty! we also got the spicy Gorgonzola balls and calamari to start. we also started with the lemonchello Mule and it was delicious! Our entrees arrived at a great time! I got the fettuccini de funghi and I really enjoyed it! They make their pasta fresh there and I really enjoyed it! I asked one of the staff members for a side of Parmesan and never got it sadly. My husband got the pappardelle pasta and said it was delightful. Everything was fresh and delicious! The ambiance was beautiful and clean. The service was decent, they seemed short staffed last night. The manager did come by and greet us and make sure we were happy. Our friends were happy with their dining experience as well. Our bill came out to $130 with the discount from the In kind app. Thank you for the wonderful experience and we look forward to returning soon! I hope you will have spumoni next ti

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful and esthetic I'm really happy to see Juliet's outside of Austin. Everyone at the table was happy including my picky 5 year old nephew who got the spaghetti he deserves. Brandon was super nice and accommodating especially since we got here 45 mins before closing. We even ordered lasagna to go and had no problem getting it out. My ravioli was delicious, however the Italian sausage tasted more like a pancetta or bacon and wasn't really the highlight of the dish. It was very good balanced basil sauce that I sopped up with the fresh focaccia bread. Brandon let us know there's music upstairs after 9pm so it's great we had a late dinner!!! We're heading upstairs now and plan to enjoy the show while the rest of the town settles down.

Yelp
To start, my wife and I have been spoiled for most of our upbringing with St. Louis Hills Italian. Seeing as this recently opened we wanted to make it our first excursion into Austin Italian food. The space itself was beautiful and the service was good, but the food itself was just ok. The portions were very generous especially the size of the chicken on the chicken parmesan, so no one was going home hungry. However, the flavor itself could have been better. While the chicken was crispy and juicy, the sauce itself was acidic and in my wife's words tasted like Ragu. The Lasagna was better with a bolognese sauce that actually had a little kick to it that I enjoyed and the right amount of cheese, but the consistency wasn't right and reminded me of a frozen lasagna. Overall, the experience was good, but the food was just ok especially given the hype. Seeing as they are new and a little further away for us, we'll give it some time before trying again.

Sierra B.

Yelp
I was so excited to see a Juliet location closer to home, as our previous experiences at Juliet in Austin were always amazing. However, we were met with disappointment by the ambience, the understaffed service and the food just wasn't the same. Although the bread was great. And we appreciated the servers that did hear out our dissatisfaction and gave us a credit for our next visit. We will return to Juliet, just not this location.

John K.

Yelp
Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Food: N/A - Didn't get to try it After reading several of the reviews, I hate to pile on, but here goes....... We visited Juliette during the Red Poppy Festival, and the city square was packed with people. We had elbowed our way around the square when we came across this place. Looking in from outside, the place was fairly empty, which should have been our first clue. However, the "curb appeal", and a review of the online menu left us with the impression that it was maybe a little upscale and pricey for the crowd that was at the festival, which was why it was so empty. We soon found out why the minute we walked in...........the hostess was turning people away. Well, to be fair, she was actually telling them that there was a 15 - 20 minute wait for a table, and that they could wait outside. Whaaaaat?! The place was practically empty!!! When I asked what was wrong with all the empty tables, I was told that they had an upstairs area, as well, and that it was crowded, so they couldn't seat people downstairs because it would overwhelm the kitchen. We were hot, tired, and all we wanted to do was sit in the A/C and have a few drinks while we waited on a table. We didn't care if it would have taken us 30 - 45 minutes to get food, we just wanted to relax with a few drinks while we waited. Bottom line is that the creativity of the management at this establishment is non-existent. Knowing that the festival was going to take place, why didn't they......... 1. Create a special menu for those 3 days that could have been prepped ahead of time so that the kitchen wouldn't be overwhelmed. 2. If the upstairs area is the preferred seating area, why not convert the entire downstairs seating area to bar space (the small bar was full)? People could sit and enjoy some wine or cocktails while waiting on a table. Maybe even have some easy, pre-prepped appetizers that could have been sold (meatballs, mozarella sticks, anti-pasta plate [pre-plated, of course], etc). We would have been willing to spend $30 - $40, or more, on drinks and apps while waiting on a table. Too bad they lost out on that from us, and the 20 - 30 other people I saw them turn away. The management here is so uninspiring that I doubt I would ever go back.

Elaine S.

Yelp
The positives: The atmosphere was good. The bread and olive oil were delicious. The owner seemed nice. I ordered piccata chicken and gluten free pasta. My dish was swimming in what I can only describe as lemon butter water. The drinks were served in small Tim cup with 3/4 ice. Not sure anyone likes to pay that much for ice. When I asked the waiter to bring me another drink with less ice, he simply brought me the same thing. The cannolis were gritty and tasted like they came out of a box. I was really looking forward to a good Italian meal on my birthday. I guess I'll have to try another spot when I'm in town.

Lara R.

Yelp
We've been three times and sadly, we won't be returning. Service is fine - nothing stands out but it's also not bad. But the food. The food. It's just bad. We've tried several pasta dishes and they just aren't good. The last time, we decided to try a pizza. Also not good. And when I say the food isn't good, it's borderline terrible. The best thing about this restaurant is the balcony overlooking the square.

Christina H.

Yelp
Great Italian food! We stopped by on a Saturday so it was a little loud but the food was amazing, I had the spicy rigatoni and it really hit the mark for me. Downstairs is a little dark lit, upstairs has more lighting which is where we sat & I was happy with that! Service was good too! Definitely will be returning.

Reid B.

Yelp
Second time at Juliet. Service was not great. Table of 4. Never offered water. Waitress spent way too much time in personal conversation with table behind us. Ordered pasta and a meatball. Sauce was good, pasta to aldente and meatball was very tough. Almost needed a knife to cut. Server inattentive for Parmesan once entrees were served as well as drink refills. So want this place to succeed but service definitely needs to improve before that will happen.

i w.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Pasta with seafood was filling and tasty. Service was attentive- not fast, but attentive Aetting was clean and fresh with big windows looking at the square. I'd give it a try!

R M.

Yelp
We enjoyed weekday lunch special combo: antipasti and entrees. There were 3 of us and ended up ordering 5 different items. All the dishes were well prepared and presented. You could tell they use fresh produce. All the temps were appropriate. Only feedback is that Manicotti is a bit small plate if you are very hungry. Service was very attentive, courteous and friendly. Ambiance is nice even for a special occasion. Will visit again!

Maggie L.

Yelp
Food and ambiance. The best steak in town is at Juliet Italian Kitchen!! Perfectly cooked, not overly seasoned and for fast service be sure to ask for MJ. She's phenomenal!!

Paul G.

Yelp
Did the flights and bites. Italian Chianti wines What an amazing event! The three wines from Tuscany were solid and each was remarkably different from the others. The bites were well matched to the food and the presentation by wine manage Stephanie Eberle was fun, informative and engaged everyone! Will look forward to next year's offerings. Meanwhile excited to see what the holidays bring! Thanks to all y'all at Juliet's!

Syria H.

Yelp
Service was great from the moment the upstairs bartender greeted us. We didn't realize that the balcony seats are assigned by the hostess as you first enter the restaurant, but we decided to ask the bartender anyway, between the bartender and another staff, they kindly accommodated us. They had to walk downstairs and coordinate that with the hostess. You get a lovely view of the square out there. Our waiter was wonderful. Unfortunately, I was only able to take photos of our appetizers and not of our main entree, which was a fantastic red snapper, risotto and asparagus. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

Frank M.

Yelp
Yesterday was a perfect day for brunch on the patio of Juliet until it wasn't. No pancakes or French toast because no syrup. No steak and eggs because no steak. No Bellini because no peach nectar. The food we did get came out warm at best and incomplete. We felt sorry for our server for having to spend her shift constantly apologizing for the kitchen and management stumbles.

E.M. S.

Yelp
Went early evening to sit at the bar and have some drinks and an early dinner. The space itself is really nice. Our bartender was attentive and kind. It was happy hour, so we ordered a couple drinks and the calamari to start. We also were given warm house made focaccia with a garlic/olive oil dipping sauce. All that was great... then our meals came. We each ordered a pasta dish and at $20+ each you'd think the quality would be there. Mine was... fine. (Spicy pene alla vodka). The second my husband's plate came out, we could tell it wouldn't be good. Even before trying the pasta, it looked overcooked... or like it had been sitting under a warmer for 2hrs. But maybe that was just the piece of pasta (supposedly homemade) sticking out. Nope. The whole thing was a chewy, gummy mess. The bolognese sauce itself was also inedible. It had the consistency that was a cross between tomato paste and refried beans. The "sauce" was mixed in with the pasta, coating everything in a thick paste. (It did not look at all like the picture on their website/social media... very much a "what I ordered vs what arrived" scenario). Overall it just looked and tasted like a buffet catering pasta dish that was a week old and had been reheated. We were wondering if maybe we got some sort of family meal or brunch leftover. There has only been one other time we've ever sent something back to a kitchen (a meat not fully cooked). Based on entree prices and the quality we had experienced we didn't want to exchange it for anything else. We simply asked not to be charged for the dish as only two bites were taken before calling it quits. (They were thankfully gracious about it and removed it without fuss). I was expecting more from this place that everyone seemed to rave about given its other locations in Austin. Maybe it's because it's newly opened, but honestly for the money they charge for entrees, I'm not willing to risk experimenting with another dish if something like bolognese - a reliable staple at any solid Italian restaurant- can't even be executed properly. With tip (and this is excluding the one entree they removed) it came to $100. Really not worth the price point and giving it another gamble. I wouldn't say it's a total write off. We'd possibly go to the bar to have happy hour again... before having dinner somewhere else on the square. I'm basing stars on food quality, value, and likelihood to return. (It's not reflective of service by the service staff who were overall really warm... probably why this is 2 stars and not 1).

Linda W.

Yelp
Celebrating Mother's Day at Juliet's was fantastic! The service was outstanding, the pasta ala vodka was delicious, pasta perfectly al dente with a nice spice on the bacon. The ambiance was great; real tea lights in sweet amber candle holders on all the tables with an array of fresh flowers. Experience was perfect! Linda W.

Yelp
Not for me. Service was very good. Our server worked very hard to attend my every need, and others. The environment is relaxed, modern, but not upscale. We sat downstairs, and didn't see upstairs. Food? This is why we here. I think. The food is very bland. Stuffed mushrooms, probably the most boring I have ever experienced. Add Salt, spice, garlic, something? I can only say I could have taken store bought mushrooms, put them in my mouth and had the same experience. Monz cheese appetizer. Cheese with some balsamic drizzled and a side of arugula. Ok? Maybe consider adding some tomato or something to make it more exciting. Maybe sprinkle some parm or something. Lasagna, very bland. I don't like much salt, but I would say this needs more of everything. Salt, spice. Very boring. And I paid extra for the meatballs, which were also very boring. A mouth of meat, with no flavor. The lady ordered the redfish. She wasn't impressed. She drowned it with salt. But, she also likes salt. We sat at the table and showed respect to our server as we complimented, but we knew this place is not for us, speaking solely about the food. On the plus side, the bartender knows what she's doing. Excellent espresso martini, and old fashioned. Child had the kids pizza. It was the best thing on our table. The bread was ok too, and the olive oil they provide has a good mix of basil, oregano, garlic, etc. Sorry, but Italian food has two options in my opinion. 1. Heavy, butter, olive oil, with well Italian seasoned sauces and cheese which all targets that "comfort food" dopamine part of our hearts. Or 2. Fresh, light, sautéed, tangy, subtle, side of bread, enjoy with a nice sparkling wine. Summer time happiness. This place is neither. But, if it's date night, go for it. But, if you are going for food, I'd pass. There's an Olive Garden nearby (which I hate Olive Garden food). And there is Tony and Luigi's 1 minute away, which would put this place to shame. Or order from the kids menu and a drink from the bar. I may try this place again in 6 months to see if anything changes. For now, pass. Oh, and something I ate caused an angry tummy. Bad food and an angry stomach

Amanda F.

Yelp
The food was superrrrrrr tasty!!! We sat on the balcony and had a great view of downtown Georgetown. Highly recommend this spot!

Judy B.

Yelp
I really want to like Juliet Kitchen. Its location is great, the redecorating they have done is bright and fresh, but they are still missing the mark with their staffing and with their food. They have tried to improve based on feedback provided earlier, but really, how does anyone employed as a waitress not know that wearing strong perfume to work in a restaurant is a no no? Isn't there an experienced adult manager there who can oversee the operation? Their Caesar salad on my first visit was so impressive that I craved it and went again just for that. Unfortunately, it just wasn't as good the second time, and then, of course, there was the waitress with the perfume. The rest of my food was just average. We will probably wait a little before trying it again. Friends say that their other location is excellent. I hope they get their act together soon.

Yelp
Juliet's Kitchen is located in the quaint downtown area of Georgetown. It has two levels and has easy parking on the streets and in designated parking squares. It is a very appealing restaurant from the entrance. The menu is all made "from scratch", and we had a hard time choosing what to have for dinner. There were 7 of us, so we chose to begin with calamari as our appetizer, which was very good (2 servings is a good suggestion). The dinner choices were the italian sausage ravioli, the clams casino (even though it was listed as an appetizer), the bolognese, and chicken parmigiana, all of which contained very generous servings. Well, all of these were delicious and we had to ask for containers to take our left overs home! The service was excellent as well. The restaurant fills up quickly, so reservations are definitely recommended. If you are up in Georgetown, give this restaurant a try. I give it 5 stars for a great dining experience.

Yelp
We were on the square getting our weekly wine when we noticed Juliet had finally opened, and we couldn't be more excited. Walked in around 5:30pm, just in time to catch the end of happy hour which lasts 3-6pm. There was no wait and they had open seats on their balcony. It was a beautiful afternoon and we seemed to had just beat the dinner rush because tables began to fill quickly after we arrived. We quickly put in the Gorgonzola Arancini, a frosé and an old fashioned. The arancini was a delicious start, crispy crunchy on the outside with a creamy warm center, the melted gorg in the middle was the perfect touch. My wife and I shared an order of the Caesar and Bolognese both of which they split for us. Can never go wrong with a classic Caesar. The bolognese sauce was savory and fantastic, our noodles were a tad overdone but nonetheless a tasty dish. For dessert we got more cocktails, not pictured, the classic Aperol Spritz and then the Smoky Monkey. A spritz is always great! Was not the largest fan of the Smokey Monkey but that's just preference. Service was great. Everything came out in a timely manner. They are training servers which is always fun and our duo was very nice and helpful. We will definitely be coming back many times in the future, so glad to have this rather than Gumbo's. Thanks Juliet.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this restaurant out because it is new in Georgetown, and so I looked it up on Yelp and OpenTable and noticed the reviews were sitting at 3.5 stars with slow service, cold food, and not mentioned the put down of walking in off the square asking to be seated to be shut down by the hostess; I noticed this happened even when OpenTable was showing availability within 15 minutes and this happened to me an my wife several weeks earlier and it made me wonder; were they really booked up? In any case, none of these things are going to help you decide whether to eat here, or what you might enjoy, but I noticed all these things and maybe you might have too. I still gave this restaurant a chance and am glad I did. The host that brought us to the table was gregarious and easy to talk to; a great first impression and one that I appreciated enough to mention; the server ended up being stellar; and did what servers do; made sure the quality of our food was excellent, which is was. She promptly got drink and app orders and delivered within a reasonable time; and got our dinner on order. Brought us some amazing bread and oils which were super tasty; don't miss these; and our app was stuffed mushrooms which my wife and I really enjoyed. I also had the Cabernet by the glass and it was very good too. I had the lasagna bolognese and my wife had the chicken saltanbuco (I didn't spell that right) which was very well done. I was stuffed by halfway through; blame it on my shrinking stomach and rising years of age, but very much enjoyed every bite. Got the rest to go; and was able to pay and get to the car to comment how hot the food still was in the containers. I was and still am impressed and would recommend everyone to go here and give it a try. I went with the expectation they the service would be slow; it was not and the server was really good. And if you have not ever eaten in Italy or Spain you don't know what slow is. I will be back and hope to see you there too. This restaurant is finding its legs and is rocking it on the way; please let me know if you go and what you liked if you do. Bien provecho!

Yelp
Best Italian food in Texas! I had an incredible experience during lunch, everything is made from scratch and you can certainly tell. The interior is perfectly designed, wait staff were genuinely nice, and most importantly the food was absolutely outstanding. I cannot wait to continue coming back.

Yelp
The entire meal took 3 hours, we were there for 3 hours! Lasagna was dry and had no sauce, the waitress said, "it usually has a pool of sauce." She went to get a bowl of sauce and took about 30 minutes while my mother waited. A different person finally delivered the bowl of sauce and said that "it has to be made especially for each dish," and he said it with a pretentious smirk... They took over an hour before even taking our order. Just be prepared to wait, no lie or exaggeration, from the time we sat down to the time we got the bill it was precisely 3 hours... The pizza was nothing special by any means. Arancini balls were ok, the best thing of the whole meal was the free bread and dipping sauce. Oh, yeah, and my parents ordered cocktails that took 50 minutes to get to our table. My Chicken Saltimbocca was ok, and by "ok" I mean I didn't reject it but I think a 5 year old with a recipe could make a more flavorful meal... most of it did end up in my trash can later that night. Why should I eat out if I can cook better than your professional chefs? The noodles were dry and placed on top of a very thin layer of sauce, I mean, there was like no sauce, this was ridiculous. Is this what we should expect from this restaurant? If so, you won't last long in Georgetown even if you are buzzing right now, you'll end up like the Blue Dolphin. It's gone now. Rob Rovani's ass out. Works with his brother now.

Yelp
Came here as part of a Christmas Stroll event - they were one of the sponsoring local businesses. It's nice to see how well Georgetown is keeping the character of the square and how the locally-owned stores are giving back to the community.

Yelp
Been there twice. First time took 30 minutes to get a waiter to come by for drinks. Then when we ordered the food that was delivered was not the correct order. We spoke to the manager and the waitress who had nothing but excuses. This last Friday we had three of four meals delivered And they told us the fourth was on its way. 15 minutes later it showed up in the meantime I had tried to talk to the waitress to get the manager to come to speak with us. A young lady who claimed to be the manager was very sorry for what happened, and only told us that mistakes happened. Not long there after a male manager showed up who also said that everybody makes mistakes and then walked off. Undoubtedly, this is the last time we will be at Juliet and Georgetown.

Yelp
Went this weekend with my mom to celebrate our December birthdays. The food was excellent and the restaurant was cute, but unfortunately this was overshadowed by the worst service experience we've ever had. After taking our orders we never saw our server again. The amount of time we waited to see him and wave him down was shocking. I eventually had to go to the hostess stand to ask for to go boxes and the check. When he finally brought them out I told him we were no longer interested in our birthday desserts. He told us he was not able to attend to us because he had...and this is a direct quote "a VIP table....the owners of the restaurant". The crazier thing was he said this as if we would shake our heads in agreement and understanding. So I guess the only way to get even basic or subpar service is to buy the restaurant and become a VIP.
