The 38 Best Restaurants in Indianapolis, Indiana | Eater

"You might find a queue stretching into the alley beside the historic Stutz Building — it probably begins at Julieta, the taco shop from former Milktooth chefs Esteban Rosas and Gabriel Sanudo. The duo amassed a rabid following over two years of pop-ups while working full-time at the Fountain Square brunch spot. Now, they turn blue corn tortillas into tacos with help from Rosas’s mother, Yolanda. The fillings change, but look for favorites like the suadero (braised brisket), al pastor, and locally foraged fried mushrooms. Know before you go: Grab a seat at Turner’s Bar next door, where you can also order from Julieta." - Brian Garrido

Google
Extremely delicious tacos! The flavors were complex but still approachable. I really enjoyed the fried mushroom tacos with the grilled cheese on top. The guac and al pastor taco were also tasty. Would absolutely recommend if you’re looking for a fresh lunch option. The only issue was there weren’t many places to sit and eat. Aside from that, great place!

Google
Julieta has amazing options for vegetarian/vegans. I opted for 2 al Pastor tacos, rice and beans. While the portions were smaller, the flavor was amazing. Everything, including the tortillas are made in house. It was a packed house on the day I was there. There are not many places to sit but you can order and take it next door to tuners bar.

Google
Everything I have had from Julieta (repeat customer) is always AMAZING. The flavors, freshness and portions are all 5 stars. The crew behind the counter, some of the nicest peeps too! I've made it a goal to expose as many friends and family to them too! Put em on your list and get some goodies!🥰

Google
Pretty good tacos in a great location! I had the Al pastor tacos and the meat was juicy and tender but not as flavorful as I was hoping, but still good. The service was fast and the patio was the perfect spot for lunch. I would definitely go back!

Google
I have yet to have a taco here because I usually go for the tostadas (sandwich) which soak up the sauces nicely. They've got good vegetarian options. My go to is the broccolini. Not sure if they're vegetarian options are vegan though. My niece likes the fried mushrooms even though she's a meat eater.

Ro Indy R.

Google
I ordered two tacos. Both vegetarian options which was nice to see on the menu. My taste buds weren't a fan. I was greeted when I walked in. My tacos were made to order. Friendly establishment that I've been wanting to try for awhile.

Google
How did I not know about this place sooner?!? The tacos are easily the best tasting and value I've seen in Indy. To all the people who recommended Condado, Bakersfield, and Gil Tacos: SHAME on you and your FAMILY! You are no longer authorized to recommend tacos. 🛑✋️ Everything at Julieta was delicious! We tried the Burrito with Carnitas, and 3 tacos (Carnitas, Al Pastor, & Suadero. We'll see you again soon 😍

Google
This place is well beyond its hype. It’s incredible. Had the broccolini taco upon the recommendation of the staff with the contodo/ cheese Guac upgrade, unreal. One of the best tacos I’ve had. Everything here was flawless, the rice and beans combo, the sauces. The vegetarian options were greatly appreciated. Going to return for the mushroom tacos in the future. Do not miss this place if living here or passing through.

Yelp
Delicious tacos! Always missing Phoenix tacos, but this scratched that itch! Try the vampiro!

Yelp
Man, oh man, Julieta Taco Shop was an unexpected surprise. This locally owned shop serves gourmet burritos, tacos and more from behind a tiny counter in the Stutz. The dining area only has seating for ten at a small counter. There was a steady line of people waiting for lunch during our visit. The service is friendly and food comes out fairly quickly. They greet the regulars by name. I ordered the daily soup, which was Potato Leek Soup. The soup was fabulous, creamy and hearty. My husband had the Wednesday burrito special, Pollo Asada Burrito. The burrito was huge and the chicken was fresh and flavorful. They provide hot and mild sauces for your food. The sauces are freshly made and really good. During warm weather, there is seating outside in the courtyard or you can find seating inside the Stutz in the common areas. Metered street parking is available nearby.

Yelp
Best tacos I've ever had. The tortillas are way better than something you can buy at a store. I ordered a pollo asado (chicken) taco and a chorizo taco for $5 each. The pollo asado taco was slightly better, but they were both great! The tacos are huge so you only need to order two for a full meal. They'll cheese up the tortillas for an additional $1, which I recommend! The staff is really nice. There's not much room to eat here, but you can eat the tacos next door at a dive bar that is cool and the staff is nice there too. Julieta Taco Shop is located in the Stutz building. There's a lot of neat art exhibits there that you can check out....and buy local art if you want.

Yelp
I completely understand why it's been ranked #1 on Yelp Indys top places to eat. The tacos are absolutely phenomenal. I ordered a chicken taco and a steak taco, and after eating an entire taco, I realized I hadn't even added any sauce --and I didn't even miss it! The tacos were so fresh and juicy that they didn't need it. I ended up squeezing some lime on them, and it was perfect. Still thinking about them! We also got a side of rice, which was fine, but honestly, the tacos were the real show. The staff is incredibly kind and it does not take long at all to get your food! If you're in Indy, this place is a must try.

Yelp
My partner loves the al pastor tacos at Julieta; it's probably his favorite local taco, especially since he is also a pineapple obsessive. The al pastor's flavor always pops and the meat is tender (and never dried out texture-wise). We've enjoyed all the taco options at Julieta, from the fried mushroom to the lengua. The house-made squeezy bottles of sauce are my favorite part, when customizing my Julieta experience (especially the bright tang of the yum green sauce). We typically order a side of black beans, which are creamy-chunky and rib-sticking. Follow Julieta's Instagram to be in-the-know regarding daily specials and other unique offerings. We tried out a taco de molote-fried plantain recently that was out of this world...all the flavors and textures! There may be a soup special, horchata variation, basque cheesecake...you never know what may be available, but just lean into it and always order the special. You can wait around at Julieta's to take your order to-go; the space is bright decorated, welcoming, and clean. Or, our favorite thing is to place our order at Julieta's, then head to Turner's bar next door to grab a seat (and maybe a cocktail or two). You pick up your food in a shared window between the two (2) businesses, which is a fantastic idea. Finish up the Stutz experience by grabbing dessert, whether cookie or pastry, from Amelia's across the way.

Yelp
WE WILL BE BACK! flavors were on point! gratefully surprised by the taste of the broccolini; great surprise! Al pastor always a winner! want to try the pollo asada and fried mushroom next! good vibes from the guy taking orders and everyone in the establishment! PS they close from 2-3; Tuesday-Thursday open till 8pm Friday Saturday open till 10pm - CLOSED SUNDAY & MONDAY :)

Yelp
Really enjoyed this quick taco shop. It is rare to have more than one unique vegetarian options at establishments of this size and I was very pleased to see there were multiple. I loved all of the sauces, broccolini and mushroom tacos. The service was amazing and the workers were all very kind and helpful. Even the ambiance as amazing with very kind customers and a general great vibe in the area.

Yelp
I visited Julieta's this week after hearing about it all over social media. It was lunch time when I went but they weren't super busy. They were out of the Al Pastor so I got two Pollo Asado tacos. The food was super fresh and I loved the flavors. However, I thought my tacos really lacked salt and I'm someone who never adds salt to my food so that was a little surprising to me. I do want to try those Al pastor tacos so I'll have to come back for those!
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
The best tacos I've ever had in my life. Hands down, no question, easy call. I've come back here at least a dozen times and more often than not I'm saying to myself, "Damn! These are even BETTER than I remember!" The tortillas are so fresh and soft and they don't fall apart (how? It's magic!). Any filling you choose is generously piled high, so juicy and flavorful. The limes wedges are bursting, and the salsas are packed with flavor. My top 3 favorites: 1. Suadero vampiro style 2. Broccolini vampiro style 3. Carnitas w/ guacamole 3 tacos is a lot of food, but you'll be glad you ordered all of it as soon as you take that first messy bite.

Yelp
Five star. Best tacos in Indy! We usually get the suardero (beef brisket) tacos and a chicken or two but we tried the special shrimp tacos today and they were fabulous. They don't often have soup but when they do it's a must. I'm never disappointed and the food is so flavorful. I also recommend giving them a shot on First Fridays because you can check out all of the art studios in the Stutz. This is Indy right here
google avatar

Brigid M.

Yelp
Best tacos in Indy and I'm willing to fight about it! The fresh made tortillas are the best I have ever had. The suadero tacos are a MUST. So moist and tender. Recommend to have with the verde salsa. There is not a ton of seating inside but you can order in there then go over to Turner's to wait for your food and sit in there and have a drink which is pretty cool. The staff is really cool and friendly too. They have specials sometimes so if you like it and want to come back, check out their Instagram to see what they've got! I got the birria tacos that were on special and they were unreal. They do a lot of different desserts on special! I missed out on the Nutella pan de Muerto which looked unreal. Both times I have been it was pretty quick and not a long line!

Yelp
Now I know where to go to get an excellent taco in Indianapolis! Just handmade corn tortilla, meat, chopped onions and cilantro. There are big communal bottles of green and red chile that you can squeeze on your taco, if you want. Boom. Vamos! I had put off visiting Julieta because I don't trust Indiana people when it comes to Mexican food. (Sorry, Indiana people.) Julieta was getting rave reviews, but I pooh-poohed, Surely, I gathered, these were "gourmet" tacos with silly things in them to inflate the price. But no, these tacos are a full meal unto themselves. At least, that's the case with the carnitas taco that I ordered. What made it even more of a meal was the side of rice and beans ($3) that I added. The rice was the perfect rojo Mexican rice. Spot on. A carnitas taco with rice and beans -- you can't beat that. Now, I did see fried mushroom and broccolini tacos on the menu. I guess it's nice that there are options for our vegetarian/vegan friends. These tacos are also $5 each. There are some barstool seats inside Julieta, but when I visited on a weekday for lunch, most of the barstools were being used by people waiting for their food. There is pretty much no dine-in seating, so you'll want to take your food to go to eat at one of the outdoor tables in the Stutz. Another option is to get your food "for here," and go next door to Turner's Bar. There's a shared window between Julieta and Turner's Bar, and the people at Julieta will scream your name from the window when your food is ready if you're enjoying it at Turner's. See my review of Turner's Bar for a more in-depth description of this whole thing. But it's expected that if you get your food to enjoy at Turner's Bar, that you also order a drink at Turner's Bar, which is a separate establishment. Anyway, great tacos! Will be back to eat more.

Yelp
Finally stopped in to try Julieta Taco Shop and have only seen rave reviews so I knew I needed to check it out. Located in the recently renovated Stutz building, you can order from the bar side through a window and there's plenty of ample seating on that side. I got the Pollo Asado, a side of rice and the Pork Carnitas taco. There's a sauce bar near the window with several types of salsa and I added some tomatillo to both of mine. Absolutely LOVED the pollo asado and dare say it's one of the best tacos I've had anywhere in Indy. The Pork Carnitas was pretty fatty and greasy, which isn't my style, so that's why I knocked them down a star. Rice was good! I'll definitely be back and also will check out some of the other cute shops and restaurants in the Stutz too.
google avatar

Greg W.

Yelp
For The Stutz to truly thrive it is imperative that there be great food options available. One of the things missing most from other food markets is an excellent taco spot. It is easy to miss with tacos but Julieta Taco Shop is a success. That fresh tortilla makes a big difference, you feel like you're getting enhanced value already and the California in me cringes by saying this but the prices here are a good value. While not a $2 taco, I think what you're getting here is a decent sized taco with premium ingredients. I'm sure we can factor in a Stutz premium as well to further justify the value. The vegetarian options set Julieta apart from your typical taqueria, your options are very good.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner on a Thursday night. You can order in their shop or the 21+ restaurant next door. I appreciate they have out of the box taco flavors and have a couple of vegan and veggie forward tacos. I ordered the broccolini and the mushroom. They were both tasty but nothing Mexican (to me) about it. Great location, in the Stutz building, with lots of other great shops nearby.
google avatar

Rachel K.

Yelp
What a delicious find! I had just seen this place pop up on TikTok when my friend suggested it as a dinner spot before our evening show. I'm so glad we went there, because the tacos were beautiful and delicious! You can watch them be made to order inside the shop. There is lots of outdoor seating, though not a ton of space inside. However, you can take them into the car next store to eat! The flavors of both tacos were fantastic and bright, especially with the sauces to dip them in. The tortillas are especially stunning - apparently they make them all in house! I would absolutely go back here.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
So happy I finally made it here after hearing great reviews for so long! The tacos are generously filled -- two were almost more than I could eat for lunch. The pastor was my favoriteGet the vampiro style with the crust of melted cheese on the exterior. The guacamole serving was smaller than I expected, but tasted good.
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
The best carnitas I've EVER had!!! And I've lived on the west coast. Meat was so tender flavorful and juicy. The guac was also amazing. Only draw back was there wasn't good seating. They had open seating right next door but I had my 17 year old with me and it was a bar. And it was freezing outside so couldn't sit in the out door area. Will definitely be back for some more tacos soon I hope.

Yelp
Your new favorite place will become Julieta's trust me! Amazing people, fantastic-genuine service and even better food! Came to visit Indianapolis for the first time and I had to see for myself the rave of this place - I immediately fell in love! We ordered Al Pastor Tacos, Suadero Beef Brisket Tacos, Carnita Tacos as well as the Chilaquiles with carnitas - absolutely delicious. You can taste the love in the food. Everyone who worked there spread the positivity and made you feel at home. When you arrive you order up front and can choose to take it to-go or sit in. There are some seats on barstools for you to sit and wait or to eat! Definitely worth trying - they even have the Large Mexican Coke bottles which unlike being in Mexico City you don't have to return! This place is a MUST! One of the best in the Midwest!
google avatar

Brie G.

Yelp
Wowza, these are great tacos! My friend says these are the best tacos she's had outside of Mexico! We ordered basically one of everything. The tortillas are clearly homemade and very tasty. I had some of the mushroom taco and was surprised at all the tasty flavors - the mushrooms are just a vessel for them. A good vegetarian option! My favorites were the Al Pastor and the Pollo Asado. There are options to add on sides of guacamole, rice, beans, etc. A bit pricier than your local Mexican restaurant, but happy to pay it for quality, super fresh tacos. The shop is small, so order and sit next door at the bar or larger table with friends. Three salsas to try, too!
google avatar

Jen K.

Yelp
I completely understand the hype for this place now. The tacos are amazing and is my go-to lunch when I'm in the area! The tortillas are perfectly soft, but don't fall apart! Even the vegetarian tacos are to die for. I want to try everything here!
google avatar

Billie K.

Yelp
I don't give many five stars. But, they totally get it right at Julieta's! From the blue corn shells, (homemade-soft) high quality meat and ingredients! WOW, super tasty and good for you! The owner is very friendly, and will answer any of your questions. Very knowledgeable and very concerned about giving customers quality food. If I were to say anything negative about this place, it is very, very small inside and you have to sit at a bar type area. I would highly recommend getting your food to go. When it's warmer, you can sit outside because there are many tables outside. This restaurant is in the Stutz building. Courtyard area. I'm already thinking of my next visit. My son-in-law goes every week. He's the one who took me there. Now, I will be a frequent patron. The menu changes daily. My son-in-law has tried almost everything on the menu and he says everything is excellent. He is very knowledgeable on food and has even been to Michelin star restaurants.
google avatar

Joseph D.

Yelp
This place is just a hidden gem. You go inside and order. The staff is great and extremely helpful. You then go next door to the bar and they call your name and you walk up and to a window right next to the bar and they pass your food through. Pro tip: only get two tacos. I got three and they were so good I couldn't stop eating them and then I was completely stuffed.
google avatar

Connie P.

Yelp
Super cute space in a cool part of town. The portions were quite generous, we definitely overestimated what we could eat! The tortillas are excellent (honestly makes or breaks a taco), and the salsa selection was delicious and went with all the tacos. They're speedy and friendly, thanks!
google avatar

Katherine H.

Yelp
SO GOOD. Casual, fast, but delicious. Tacos were perfection. We had shrimp, pork, broccolini with vampiro (fried cheese), and rice+beans. Loved the hot sauces and tortillas too. Friendly staff as well - we definitely will be back.
google avatar

Cher C.

Yelp
Julieta Taco Shop came highly recommended and we really enjoyed it! Tried 3 different tacos and each were delicious in their own way. I especially liked the fried mushroom taco so it's great that they have veg options. The special Passionfruit agua frescas was also very good and was a perfect sweet pairing with the tacos.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Pretty good Al pastor tacos, perfect that they're connected to Turner's bar since they don't have seating. Can't wait to come back and try their other options.
google avatar

Sara B.

Yelp
Yum. This taco shop is awesome. The small menu means you'll get quality ingredients in a well prepared dish. We tried several different tacos and the quesabarrias. All were amazing. Loved the blue corn tortilla too, nice way to stand out. Guacamole was just ok. Rice was good - for me the beans were just ok (but we did eat them all!). Several Jarritos to choose from too. It's a cute little shop with only a few tables but there are several tables outside you can sit at. The employees were quick to explain options and sauces (available on the side). Definitely one of the best places for tacos downtown!
google avatar

Vishal J.

Yelp
Julieta Taco Shop is spectacular. One of the best tacos I have ever eaten. The Al Pastor and Pollo Asado meats are full of flavor and very tasty. They put a ton of meat on each taco, making the $5 very worth it. Everything I had here was phenomenal. The spicy salsa is a great addition to the meal as well. The menu is also very simple with not too many options to choose from. This place still delivers high quality food and a great selection of tacos.

Yelp
Obviously the line out the door is your first clue as to how phenomenal this taco paradise is! Second if you think if you haven't used that short wait in the line to decide what you want, you may start a riot as folks are hungry and salivating for their Carne Asada, Al Pastor, Carnitas, Champignons, and BROCCOLINI!!! Yea, that's right, perhaps the most eloquent innovation I've ever had the pleasure of digesting! Crispy crunchy and packed full of flavor! A must for any visitor even if you think you aren't a broccoli fan! And last if you don't spend the extra $1 to make them all "VAMPIRO" then you are lame and perhaps not understanding the true art of Mexican street food is! The dish features two crispy corn tortillas, a layer of melted cheese, and various fillings. The tacos can be served open-faced like a tostada, or folded like a quesadilla! This technique takes great skill and originated in the Mexican state of Sinaloa and perfected in the small town of El Verde. However, I may disagree and say they perfected here at Julieta Taco Shop on 1060 N Capital Ave, Indianapolis, IN!!! All I can conclude is that if you are ever in Indiana and you find yourself hungry and in need of comfort, you'd be doing yourself and your taste buds a great injustice if you do not pop in and say hello to this beautiful people selling their souls on a fresh masa tortilla! Made me miss El Paso! Keep it chuco y'all!
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible tacos! These are the best homemade tortillas I have had outside of Mexico. It's clear to see that these tacos are made with some mad love. Getting them vampire style (with fried cheese) just puts them over the top. They have a rotating menu and everything I've tried has been delicious, but the brisket has been my absolute favorite! All of their homemade salsas are also bomb! They have mild to spicy (so everyone can find something they like). Don't sleep on this deliciousness!
google avatar

Yelp
No frills, all the flavor and everything scratch made! Hey, I like to go over the top sometimes, but this is not that place...you will not find meats deep fried in cinnamon toast crunch cereal and drizzled with raspberry sauce here....just perfectly cooked meat with enough flavor and the right texture on it's own in a well-crafted tortilla, with optional salsas. Mor about the tacos! Everything was fresh, delicious and amazing...simple and perfect! Even thought the simple taco was great on its own, I did try the salsas, which were fantastic as well! We ordered Al Pastor, Brisket Vampiro style and a side of beans. (You may choose to get any taco Vampiro style...which is a super delicious cheese encrusted tortilla.) I'd say the Al Pastor stands was simply amazing...my fave for sure! I loved my Brisket vampiro too. I think the brisket would have been great without the Vampiro style, but I guess I'll have to confirm that later! We had our tacos with a side of beans. They are black beans somewhat refried-style and they were a tasty side, but honestly was full enough from the taco, and the tacos definitely were the star of the meal. So, I'd order the beans if you think you want the side, but two tacos was enough for me. I noticed that you can also get the taco options in a torta, which I'd like to try sometime too. We ate in, but there's not a lot of seating inside the place. There are some nice outdoor tables in the Stutz walkway. This is definitely a great option for quick carry out. The staff was helpful and offered suggestions on what to order as it was our first time. Everything was served promptly! A convenient affordable spot. Bathrooms are common in the Stutz development. Plenty of nearby street parking on Capitol and 11th.

Yelp
Let me tell you about this dynamite experience. It lived up to the hype and I couldn't be happier that they're located only a mile from our house. What excited me most about Julieta? The tortillas. Made-from-scratch - the real deal. The heirloom corn, the grinding, the texture, the whole shebang. Not to mention that they offer the option to make your tortilla "vampiro" with cheese layered on (cooked on). Just seeing the tortillas being made in videos and photos had me excited to head to Julieta. Before I fully dig into the food. We were greeted with friendly faces and the good vibes of co-owner Gabriel. Those "good vibes" go a long way in taking an experience from good to great. He even worked over my old school dad who always gets nervous when trying something new... The space is cute and straightforward with a few seats available inside and plenty found outisde in the Stutz courtyard. Parking can easily be found on the surrounding streets and it certainly doesn't hurt that they have so many good neighboring businesses like Amelia's, Grounded Plant Shop, etc. Back to the food. We ordered a montage of the menu - four types of tacos, the chile relleno special, chamoy cantaloupe, and rice and beans. The star of the show for me was the chile relleno - it's surprising to say this but it was somehow refreshing with the delicious homemade salsa/sauce they ladled over it. The al pastor taco was probably our favorite of the ones we tried but we can't wait to work our way through the menu with future visits. The salsa verde was also especially good - I fought the urge to drink it straight from the bottle. Bravo and congrats - so happy to have this new business in our downtown.

Yelp
This place is excellent and that's all you need to know. (So is Turners right next door). Tacos + cocktails = pure joy.

Yelp
The owner of this taco shop has done several pop-up dinners at Milktooth, Indy's beloved brunch spot that's constantly in the national media spotlight. I knew that Julieta would therefore be delicious before they even opened. Find them in the newly-renovated Stutz building off of a cute alleyway that's covered in twinkle lights and packed with local spots (Amelia's Bakery, Turner's Bar, Barista Parlor coffee shop, Industrious event space, and more). The first three things I noticed upon walking in were that the blue tiles were cool, I appreciate a small/simple menu, and the woman running the counter was super friendly. It's a breath of fresh air when someone seems happy at their job and is open to any questions you have - especially on your first visit. I had read in reviews that the al pastor tacos often sell out due to their popularity, so I went with one of those and one carnitas. The tacos are $5 each and I added guac on the al pastor for an extra $1.50. You'll never regret added guac. You also have the option for added rice or beans for $3. I didn't do that this time but would do it next time because they looked good. Finally, you have the choice to make any taco vampiro, which means a slice of griddled cheese on top for an extra dollar too. They also offer quesabirrias (I'm guessing a quesadilla with birria meat) and chilaquiles on their menu as well as a slew of drinks including Topo Chico, Jarritos, Mandarin, Sangria, and Mundet (which I looked up and found is a Mexican apple soda). I'd love to have more details on the menu, as I didn't know what else would come with the tacos besides the meat or what the "summer hash" taco entailed, so that would be my only tip for the future. The tacos also take about 10-15 minutes to wait, so be prepared to wait a few minutes. No problem. The tacos were delicious and I'd recommend eating them as soon as possible (which the woman running the counter also recommended). They make their tortillas from scratch so if you let them sit for awhile, they will harden. I ate them only a few minutes after receiving them and thought they were soooo good. I love that there is a salsa bar where you can doctor up your tacos and pour the salsa straight on or put it in a little ramekin for later. My sister got the summer hash vegetarian tacos and loved those too. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Being from Southern CA, I haven't found a good taco in Indiana. Until now. It's as if their menu was carefully crafted to contain only their "specialty" items. It's all good. I must start with their five salsa options. The salsa verde was my favorite. A close second was the roja. The summer hash is the vegetarian taco option - sautéed vegetables with a flavorful sauce of some sort, piled into a blue corn tortilla (which they make fresh), oh, and don't forget to add guacamole. So very good. The other popular tacos at the table were the al pastor (with griddled cheese added), and the fish tacos. Also, I cannot forget to mention the rice and beans you can get on the side. The black beans were so good I had to order another for takeaway. If you get the rice, mix the salsa verde into it before you take a bite. So good. Next time, I'll have to try the torta. The employees behind the counter were so friendly and they were working with a sense of urgency to get the food out. The open kitchen concept made the space approachable, kinda like you were enjoying a meal at their home. There's bar seating inside or outdoor seating at the Stutz.

Yelp
We recently checked out a new(er) taco joint and really loved this new small business in the downtown area. The location, the ease of ordering, the freshness of ingredients, the service, all home runs! We ordered chicken tacos, fried mushroom taco, and broccoli taco with rice and beans. The winner for me was the fried mushroom and my husband loved the chicken. Check them out in the Stutz Building downtown. Order your tacos vampiro style (with grittled cheese on the shell) and thank me later.

Yelp
Absolutely have loved my experiences at Julieta Taco Shop! Today I went for burrito day and ways SO excited. I got the carnita burrito and added cheese and guac (I think it was a $2-3 up charge but so worth it)! I loved it. First off, this burrito was HUGE. Probably the biggest burrito I have ever gotten anywhere - so you are definitely getting your moneys worth!! The flavors of the burrito were so good. I will 100% be going back on burrito Wednesday again! I've also gott n their tacos and have enjoyed them. The location is so nice and cute and the people are so welcoming!! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Julieta Taco Shop is located in the gorgeous Stutz establishment. It's located directly across from Amelia's Bakery and Turners Indy. This is exactly what I would picture a taco shop like. Simple menu and not a huge restaurant. It's nice and bright inside. The employees were friendly and helpful. I ordered the chicken tacos and the suadero - beef brisket tacos with the vampiro - grilled cheese added to the taco. They had 3 sauces you could add to your tacos. I chose the salsa verde. The tacos were very good and fresh and warm. Two thumbs up! They had some seating inside they also have tables outside. Try them out sometime!

Yelp
DELICIOUS. I mean the Al Pastor and the ... Beef brisket are both amazing. They get them over to you in a decent amount of time. and allows you to hang out in Turner's bar next door. Good times.

Yelp
Loved the flavors of the tacos! Service was quick and being able to eat these while drinking margaritas at Turners was (chef's kiss)!

Yelp
Homemade tortillas? Mouthwatering chicken? Acidic purple onions? This is THE place! All the ingredients pair so well with each other I could've eaten three more!

Yelp
Customers service is always great. Place is always clean and neat. I've been here a couple of times and it's been amazing. To begin with I always get the Chicken tacos with corn tortilla which they are very flavorful and delicious. On my tacos I only put lime and red hot sauce which everyone judges me for not putting cilantro and onions which is disgusting to me haha. Also the Tacos are a good size for the price and the portion is great as well. Moreover they are right next door to Turner's which is a Bar and they have a little window where you can order from there as well. In addition as a Hispanic I think Julieta's is very Mexican authentic. So if you truly want Mexican tacos I really recommend trying this place out. I think it's Top 3 of Indianapolis.

Yelp
Friendly staff! Tacos are very fresh and made to order, so they are perfect temp when you get them. They have 3 salsas to put on top, so I tried one each on my 3 al pastor tacos. The green is mild and very flavorful, the red is medium and I didn't get much flavor from it, and the orange spicy (I think habanero) and packed a lot of heat. I loved the consistency of the taco shell- my tacos didn't break and spill all over my plate and they were only single shells. There is a few indoor seats at tabletops along the front perimeter or you can grab a seat at an outside table that the Stutz has for all of the businesses in this little alley. We chose to sit outside and had a great time with the breeze that blew through the alley.

Yelp
Whenever someone asks me where they should go to eat, Julietas is ALWAYS my recommendation. Seriously the best tacos in Indy and worth every dollar. The tacos are $5 each if you don't have any upgrades like guacamole or cheese, and at first that may seem expensive... at least until you taste them. The best tacos. The best vibes. The nicest staff. AND you can eat them while grabbing a beer next door at Turners? Take all my money.

Yelp
I'm a fan! I love that you can order online if you don't want to leave the bar next door. AND, there's even a delivery window when your food is ready. I had the birria tacos and they were delicious.

Yelp
What a cute mom and pop taco place. It's truly a family affair with mom making the fresh corn tortillas, dad handing out orders and the son taking them. We stopped in and had the brisket and shrimp tacos. The brisket taco is authentic served with cilantro and onion. The shrimp is lightly battered and fried served tossed in a honey glaze sauce with pickled onions and cilantro. There is a salsa bar to the right of the cashier that you can top your tacos with. I opted for the habanero sauce cuz I love the heat. We travel to southern Mexico frequently and these are spot on in street taco flavor. The taste is 5/5. Each taco is $5 so it's a pricey if you are thinking of this as more than a snack. We walked out with 6 tacos which were delicious but we were still hungry. Definitely recommend you try them out though.

Yelp
Julieta Taco Shop is hands down my favorite place to get tacos in Indy- maybe the world- but I'm coming off a Taco High. Very small, local, friendly feel. The shop is located at the newly remodeled Stutz. As I mentioned above, it's small, but there is indoor stool seating, and ample room for guests to wait and place their order. The staff was incredible. My son and I actually walked in a few minutes after they closed for lunch- and no one even mentioned it, I didn't realize my mistake until after we found our table in the courtyard. I wish I would have gotten everyone's name, but the kindness was amazing. They corn tortillas were being made right there in the shop, and they had some incredible flavors. Staff was also super patient as my son naviagated through what he wanted. 10/10, highly recommend. I'm going at least twice a month. I purchased the mushroom tacos- incredible. My son ordered the brisket tacos.. super juicy. I don't think I ever realized flavors could be so bold in a taco. I look forward to our next visit :)

Yelp
Al pastor and fried mushroom tacos -simply yum! The food was absolutely outstanding and the staff were very kind. Also, great ambience. Can't wait to go back.
