We went out for the FBI Band yesterday afternoon... fantastic old school band! The setting was lovely. Unfortunately, the wines were unremarkable, and we had a bad experience with the owner and server. The server had spilled a bottled beer at the table prior to coming to us, she stood the bottle up on the tray, delivered the stemless wines glasses to their table, then made her way to our table to deliver a couple popsicles (after wine flight, salami, cheese n crackers, champagne)... she was holding the tray at an angle - not aware that the bottle might fall over again - and sure enough the beer bottle fell over on our table... and soaked my cap (from Baseball Hall of Fame) in beer. Of course accidents happen, but the response took us by surprise. The server did not apologize, and said, "oh don't worry about it, that will wash out, my son spills stuff on his hat all the time, you can get a hat shaper on Amazon for about five bucks." Shocking! So, I went to the restroom to try to rinse out the beer smell, but it didn't completely wash out. My girlfriend went into the bar to mention the response to the owner. His response was, " I'll give you a beer, what do you want me to do about it! , with an aggressive tone! When GF told me the response, I went in to calmly talk to owner, he had same aggressive bully tone. He said "take it home and wash it, and let me know the results". I told him, I'm not coming back for a $30 hat. I asked him if this is really his customer response, he said, what do you want me to do about it, I said pay me $30 to replace the hat... which he begrudgingly pulled $30 from the register... I left the beer soaked cap. The server said she would keep it and wash it!
That should have been the end of it. But, when GF went in to use the restroom before leaving, owner shouted across the room , "hey! is your boyfriend happy now!! , .. she ignored him. When she came out of restroom, he continued badgering her, to where she felt physically threatened and her heart was racing in anxiety and fear for physical safety. She told him this is shocking to have such an experience.
Also, owner was rude to servers, and complained about the patio door being open too much, running up his electric bill, all in earshot of customers.
The server gave us bill for our aggravation.
Needless to say, we won't be going back to Julietta Winery, and do not recommend this establishment due to the aggressive, misogynistic, bully owner, and the not very good wine
