Where to Find the Best Ube Desserts in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"This Alpharetta bakery and café incorporates ube into both drinks and desserts—think Vietnamese iced coffees topped with ube foam and drizzle (the Prince) or with black sesame and ube foam (the Leah)—and also serves ube waffles and soft-serve ice cream for a sweet, purple twist on classic menu items." - Lia Picard

Beautiful bakery with a pleasing decor located opposite Maxwell. While my order of Pandan Cinnamon Roll was getting ready, I clicked all the pictures and was reading about the bakery. Interesting indeed! Featured in magazines, TV shows etc And I have nothing but the best to say about the Pandan Cinnamon Roll. Delicious, Appetizing, Mouthwatering, Light with the perfect sweetness, enormous for 1 and melted in the mouth. They have a window with chairs that is accessible for differently abled folks and dogs are more than welcome. A bit pricey for me but I honestly didn't mind. Parking is a big tight on busy days but otherwise I'd love to visit this place again.

Great menu selection of really unique drinks. Ordered a Caramel Brûlée Latte and it was really very good, also just a beautiful drink. Their bakery selection looked great and was priced well. I didn’t have any of their savory offerings but could see them warming things up in a skillet. The drink was the highlight and worth it, despite the high price, especially since parking is easy, and plenty of seating options outside and on the rooftop. Would visit again!

Small, daughter-mother owned, vietnamese-inspired cafe and bakery. There's various tables outside and shaded lounge seats on the rooftop. Indoor seating is limited. Things you should know: I. PARKING July Moon shares a public parking lot with various businesses within the Maxwell Retail Outlet Mall. There's plenty of free, available spaces. II. SERVICE Kind and friendly. Took about 20 minutes to get our 2 drinks. III. QUALITY All the bakery items are made fresh daily; you'll even see the owner prepping cupcakes and cookies behind the counter throughout the day. We only ordered drinks and the taste was exactly as we anticipated from the description ~ no surprises. I highly recommend the Black Sesame Coffee Latte if you want something that isn't as sweet as bubble tea or vietnamese coffee. They do an outstanding job with presentation and making the flavors of the sesame stand out. This is probably my favorite black sesame latte in ATL in comparison to the others I've had..! IV. CAPACITY For a weekend, the traffic flow of people ordering is high. Business is good. Indoor seating can seem crowded and clustered due to this, but the outdoor dining is never an option you can go wrong with. The rooftop is sometimes on a reservation basis and not always available.

Today my son and I stopped into July Moon and were greeted by the owner, Hanh Nguyen, who was so warm and welcoming. We don’t get to Alpharetta much with living in the mountains, but my son had saved this cafe as a place for us to check out. I had the chocolate zucchini bread, my son had a pandan Cinnamon roll, and we brought my husband home an ube Cinnamon roll. All three things were delicious!!!! The cafe had such a great feel and was bright and cheery. Hanh and her staff were so friendly…I almost didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be making the trip back to see them, often. If you are in the area, please add them to your list of “must go” places, and visit their website to learn more about them. The story behind the cafe is amazing! Thank you ladies for a truly wonderful experience. We will see you again soon!!

I have wanted to try July Moon Bakery since they opened about six months ago. I finally had the opportunity and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t get there sooner as the place is fabulous! From the owner, to the staff, the food, to the beverages, I’ve missed out for months. Now after being there I know I’ll become a regular. Hubby and I enjoyed The Prince (Vietnamese iced coffee w/ube cheese foam & ube drizzle), a Vietnamese iced coffee w/pandan cheese foam & ube drizzle, and the most delicious pandan bubble waffle with almond drizzle. We were also treated to samples of both ube & matcha soft serve ice cream which were both delicious. We watched as some fabulous bánh mì were being made and next time we’re definitely going to be having those for lunch, when we intend to sit up on the roof deck and enjoy maybe some of the alcoholic bubble teas!! We unfortunately missed out on the fresh pineapple buns which were just going into the oven as we were leaving, but as we intend to return whenever we’re in the area, I’m sure we’ll have the opportunity to try them another time. Super friendly owner and staff, adorable, comfortable, & welcoming place, it’s a total gem!!

First off, they have the best Bánh Mì in town! The size is petite baguette which is smaller than your normal sandwich but the taste is devine. As a Vietnamese, I must say the Bánh Mì's taste is very close to what I grew up having. I would give them a 9/10 for the Bánh Mì. I came once after they just opened and the milkteas weren't the best (perhaps because I'm very picky with my milkteas) but I revisted them again last week and their teas have definitely improved! They even asked me if the sweetness was okay(which didn't happen the first time) and that they could adjust it for me (a plus for me because, again, I'm very picky with my bobas). I got the Jasmine milkteas both times to compare and I would give them a 7/10 from a 2/10 before. The passion fruit is super fresh and sweet, right up my alley. I believe it was made with fresh passionfruit because the drink has the passionfruit seeds in them, fun to chew. 8.5/10 for the passionfruit tea. And ofcourse, their Ube bubble waffle is delicious! 10/10 for this. I have not been able to find flavorful bubble waffles around the area and so glad and stumbled upon this place. Excited to try their other waffle flavors. The best thing about this place is their atmosphere and people. Super cute and adorable. The bathroom is so so so so pink and cute. Every corner and decoration adds to the general vibe. They also have a rooftop which has plenty of seats but they don't currently have shades and it's quite hot in the summer. But worth to check out. 10000/10 for atmosphere. Staff were friendly. Service was little slow but understandably since it looks like they are understaffed but I was met with hellos and goodbyes. Would revisit to try their other drinks and Bánh Mì.

This is our second visit to July Moon since their opening earlier in the spring. Their menu is quite extensive now with many more drink options, snacks, pastries, and meals. It's a pretty good place to bring a group of friends who like a variety of different things. The price is on the higher end for a drink, but they're pretty unique and good quality. Plenty outdoor seating. Limited indoor seating.

Super cute cafe vibe with plenty seating options outside and on the roof. Owner is a delight and truly cares about her patrons. Their Vietnamese drip coffee is deliciously yummy! They do offer a small food menu too.
