"Set the scene for us. What's this place like?The Dubai insider’s hotel—cooler and more understated than most of its competitors. It’s contemporary and comfortable, but still has an old, authentically Arabic head on its shoulders. The pool is the lobby showstopper. The hotel stands at the gateway to the entire Madinat Jumeirah resort, where everything is linked by canals. So what is the story behind the hotel?With nine hotels within Dubai itself, Jumeirah is known for being a heavyweight on the city’s scene, the name behind many of its most well-respected restaurants and residences. Mina A’Salam itself opened in 2003, the first of three hotels in Jumeirah City, a 40-hectare project designed to look like a traditional Arabian hub, which also includes Dar Al Masyaf, a cluster of summerhouses that have been rented by Denzel Washington, Tom Cruise and Stranger Things’ David Harbour. Many a Dubai International Film Festival opening party has been held on Mina A’Salam’s private beach. The real reason we're here: The rooms. What are they like?Everything in the room is generally… big, which tends to leave you feeling rather petite and cozy. The double-window-fronted Arabian Rooms are showered in sunshine, with oversized wooden furniture and archways looping through them. The bed itself is vast—or rather, it’s actually two wide beds pushed together—plus there’s a small living space too. The tech is extremely simple to use, while the huge balcony has enough space for you to take tea and photographs in front of the Burj Al Arab (pictures of the tower can also be taken, Negroni in hand, from the hotel’s beautiful Bahri Bar). Oh, the bar! That brings us to our next questions—what are the dining options on the premises? You reach the extensive breakfast buffet via a short morning voyage along the canal, served on the sun deck of the smart Pai Thai restaurant. And every experienced bruncher in town knows that, come Friday, Mina A’Salam sets the bar. Our top pick for creative, modern grub is Folly by Nick & Scott, the latter a Gordon Ramsay protégé who worked at Claridge’s. With its tasting menus and organic and biodynamic wines, it is probably the city’s most forward-thinking restaurant. How do the staff treat you?While staff at other Dubai hotels can veer into bungling subservience, Mina A’Salam staff are accommodating and efficient – the beach crew always a wave away no matter what the temperature. Who else are you likely to see here?International and eclectic, with film stars, families, couples and the just-randomly-ended-up-in-Dubai. Visualize the tribe you’d find in an Emirates business lounge and you’re halfway there. What is the surrounding area like?Set in one of the city’s oldest, bougainvillea-framed-white-villa districts, Umm Suqeim, Mina A’Salam is the gateway to the mighty Madinat Jumeirah souk, with its canals and wind towers. To put it in Dubai context: When a long-term city resident stays at the Mina A’Salam, they cannot wait to tell people. You could have stayed at the Burj Al Arab, but that’s a little more… obvious. Are there any other facilities at the hotel worth checking out?The Talise Fitness Centre and Spa is enormous and incredibly slick, with all the very latest classes and kit. Guests of the Mina A’Salam can also attend sunset yoga sessions on the beach, which are rather special. It all sounds pretty great, but is there anything you'd change?The decor could be slightly more pared-back. Although, that said, that would then dilute some of what makes the Mina A'Salam, the Mina A'Salam. "Part of the extraordinary Madinat Jumeirah complex, this sumptuous hotel plays heavily on the Arabian theme – musicians play soothing classical Arabic music, rose petals float in a tile-filled fountain – but the effect is enchanting. The views from the balconies of the building’s grand exterior, modelled on old Arabian cities, are stunning at night. Lavish rooms are strewn with lanterns and arabesque patterns, and the choice of surrounding bars, restaurants and spa and beach facilities is staggering. Jumeirah Mina Al Salam is one of those rare resorts that immediately pulls you into its atmosphere—a blend of traditional Arabian charm, calm waterfront scenery, and understated luxury that feels both intimate and grand. From the moment our group arrived, Sarah, Omar, Lina, and I were struck by how warm and welcoming the staff were; Ahmed at reception greeted us with genuine hospitality, and Maria from the concierge team seemed to anticipate our questions before we even asked them. The resort’s design is stunning: winding waterways, wooden abra boats gliding past, and architecture that feels like a modern interpretation of an old Arabian citadel. Our rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable, with balconies overlooking either the sea or the serene lagoon—Lina kept saying she could sit there for hours just listening to the water. Every morning, breakfast became a ritual for us. The variety was impressive, from fresh pastries to Middle Eastern dishes, and the staff remembered our preferences by the second day. The location is another major highlight; being able to walk along the private beach with the Burj Al Arab rising dramatically in the background felt almost surreal. We also loved how easy it was to explore the entire Madinat Jumeirah complex—Souk Madinat, the restaurants, the gardens, and the waterways all felt like part of one large, beautifully curated world. Omar especially enjoyed taking the abra rides in the evening when the lanterns lit up the canals. The resort is incredibly family‑friendly, yet it still maintains a peaceful, refined atmosphere. Access to Wild Wadi Waterpark added a fun element to the trip, and the pools were perfect for relaxing after long days in the sun. What stood out most to all of us was the consistency of the service—every interaction felt thoughtful, and nothing ever seemed rushed or impersonal. Even though Mina Al Salam is a premium property, the experience felt worth every moment, offering a balance of comfort, beauty, and genuine hospitality that made our stay memorable. It’s the kind of place you leave already thinking about when you’ll return, and our whole team agreed it was one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences we’ve shared together.

Very good hotel . We stayed here with my sister that is going sometimes to Dubai. The people who work there are all very friendly and helpful. They are making the hotel a 5 star worthy!! The food is amazing and plenty to choose from . Every thing that you can imagine is at the breakfast. All the rich people have to tip more to people ho work there !! They make our holiday excellent . . Please have a ❤️and give more to the staff that work there outside . They give there everything to give us the best experience ever !! The boatguys and girls the girls and boys at the pool and the buggy men and woman !! They drive us everywhere we wanna go and rescue people for not a lot of money . The rooms are excellent the cocktails amazing. Club rooms are very good . The best cocktails . The best hotel ever!! Thank for the great service!! You are all top !!

I highly recommend staying at this hotel — it truly has everything you could want. The location is fantastic, the food and restaurants are exceptional, and the beach is beautiful. The service was excellent throughout our stay, and the variety of pools made it perfect for relaxing. I would definitely stay there again, and my family loved it just as much as I did.

My Husband and I have just returned from yet another fabulous stay at our favourite hotel and our second visit this year.|We arrived early for check in at 7.15 am after an overnight flight, to a welcome surprise that our room was ready, complete with lots of complimentary treats to celebrate our anniversary!|Our Ocean View Room 504 was perfectly located with a gorgeous view of the ocean, waterway and the Burj Al Arab.|As we had a club room, we headed down to the Amal Lounge for a much needed coffee and breakfast and then hit the beach for the day.||Our days were spent relaxing around the Cala Vista Pool. We were well and truly looked after by Abaasi, Monjurul, Mojammel, Mukter and Charles. These guys are a huge asset to the hotel, they can’t do enough for you. Monjurul set up our beds each morning and provided us with a cool bag containing bottles of ice cold water which were replenished throughout the day.|Food and drinks can be ordered from the pool menu … I’m already missing the pizzas and limoncello spritz’s!!||Our evenings started in the Amal Lounge with Sundowners and canapes. Champagne has now been added to the drinks selection along with a choice of wines, spirits and cocktails. We were served by the wonderful Leena and Shipu who made sure our glasses were never empty!||We usually stay Half Board but this time we were Bed & Breakfast. We feel that the choice of included restaurants on Half Board has reduced over the years and most now come with a supplement. |However, we still chose to eat at a number of restaurants across the resort.||Cala Vista – The best new addition to the Mina Al Salam. An Amazing Italian restaurant with delicious food and stunning views. We had dinner here twice during our stay and also enjoyed Sundowners on a couple of evenings as part of our club room package. The restaurant and bar were both buzzing every night! We would very often call in for an after-dinner cocktail at the bar.|***|Al Qasr Saturday Brunch – The best buffet brunch with free-flowing champagne and live entertainment.|***|Balloons at the Palace – This was a very special evening for us as it’s located on the Sunset Terrace at the Al Qasr where we got married.|***|Shimmers – Delicious Greek food and the most perfect table on the beach at the waters edge.|***|The Cullinan – Absolutely beautiful restaurant and some of the best food we have ever tasted. Definitely top of the list for Steak!|***|MEI – Chinese cuisine in a beautiful location right on the waterways.|***|ONDA Bar by Pierchic - Great bar for Sundowners. My only criticism is that they need more bar staff. There were only two people hosting/serving and the bar was full resulting in having to wait quite a while to be served.|***|Bar Buci – Fantastic bar with a great vibe! Cocktails were excellent!!||A big thank you to Jaime, Gloria and the Guest Relations Team for helping us create wonderful Anniversary memories and for making our stay so special once again.|We can’t wait to come back next year!!||Beverley & Martin Townsend

QuietWe love this hotel! We were fortunate to have Husain from Rayna Tours help us plan our 3 days in Dubai. Husain was kind and patient in booking tickets for The Louve Museum in Abu Dhabi and our dinner reservation at The Fouguetwhich was fabulous. Also arranged our tickets to The Museum of the Future. Dinner reservations at Al Muntaha at the Burj Al Arabic Dubai! The highlight of our entire trip. The hospitality and personal attention was fabulous and the food and presentations were delicious!|Thank you Husain for making our stay in Dubai a memorable one!

Absolutely flawless stay! We had a fantastic time from beginning to end. The staff and service are amazing. Children eat free under 4 and the portions are so generous and fantastic options. The kids club is amazing. Rooms were spacious and bed super comfortable. Food was great, options are endless! Really cannot complain, we had a fantastic week.
