We had six people dining at dinner. We waited 15 minutes for a table. We pre ordered as they cleaned up our table. Once seated the food came within two minutes with heat steam coming on top. The dishes are all flavorful and fragrant. It is quite unique and we all enjoyed the dishes. Will come back.

Google
This is a Yunnan restaurant that specializes in mushroom dishes. Every dish is quite interesting. In fact, even the simple fried potatoes are delicious because the sauce is very special. I didn't like the banana leaf wrapped fish very much because the sauce is sweet. Server was super friendly !

I’ve been hearing that this restaurant offers authentic Yunnan hometown flavors, and since I haven’t been back home for almost three years, I’ve been missing the taste of home a lot—so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the mushroom dish, beef aorta, and fried silkworm pupae. The mushrooms weren’t the wild mushrooms I was hoping for, but since I’ve missed them so much, they were still enjoyable. The beef aorta was very flavorful, seasoned nicely with classic Yunnan spices—I really liked it. As for the silkworm pupae, that’s truly a “Yunnan warrior” dish! Since it’s probably not ordered very often, it arrived a bit cold. I think it would be even better if served freshly fried. Overall, this place definitely brought some comfort to my homesickness. I’ll be back to try more dishes and continue chasing those hometown flavors.

Google
I absolutely love this Yunnan restaurant! It’s a total gem, especially for someone like me who loves bold and flavorful dishes. I saw they had some new items on the menu recently, so of course I had to come try them right away! The food was just as amazing as always — full of aroma, depth, and that unique Yunnan spice kick. The Guizhou Stinky Shrimp Sour Stir-Fried Beef was incredibly flavorful — tangy, spicy, and packed with umami. It’s the kind of dish that keeps you reaching for another bite even when your mouth is on fire And the Dai-Style Beef Offal Bone Broth Mushroom Hotpot was pure comfort in a pot. The broth was rich and milky, full of mushroom and beef flavor, and the combination of textures from the offal, beef, and wild mushrooms was just perfect. Every visit here reminds me why this place is one of my absolute favorites. Highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic Yunnan and Guizhou flavors — intense, aromatic, and unforgettable!

Google
Very unique dishes from Yunnan and Guizhou provinces! Lots of spicy and non-spicy options, all infused with local spices and flavors. Thoughtful plating as well. Highly recommend!

Google
I first went there after an event with friends who recommended the place. The mushrooms were incredibly fresh the owner said they were air-shipped directly from Yunnan. Everything was delicious and full of flavor. Highly recommended!

Google
Mid-Autumn lunch with my son. The Yunnan mushrooms were definitely the star of the meal — fresh, flavorful and perfectly cooked. Would lovely to come back! 最爱云南菌子~ 😋

The mushroom cuisines here are incredible, super fresh, and cooked to perfection with just the right seasoning. It really captures the unique flavors of Yunnan cuisine. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We literally jumped for joy walking into @junbistro, a Yunnan-inspired California bistro built on a beautifully simple idea: blending the flavors of Yunnan with the spirit of California culture. The name Jun carries so much meaning. It comes from 菌 (Jun)--the local word for mushrooms in Yunnan--and also echoes the month of June, when these mushrooms flourish in the wild. More than that, it represents the heart behind this place: creating a space where Joy, Nutrition, and Unprocessed food can be shared among friends and family. A true natural kitchen that brings you back to what's authentic. Let's Jun Big We ordered a spread that truly reflects that philosophy: Banana Leaf Wrapped Seabass -- steamed whole with herbs and finished in a fragrant coconut laksa sauce Spicy Sour Soup Beef with Guizhou Mujiang Seeds Oil -- bold, tangy, and deeply comforting Fermented Shrimp Sauce Stir-Fry Beef Loin -- a Guizhou classic packed with umami Fried Chicken with Tom Yum Sauce -- crispy with a bright, zesty kick Laksa Shrimp Fried Rice -- rich, aromatic, and impossible to stop eating From the warm, community-focused space to the friendly, welcoming service, every dish tastes like it was made with intention--food that reminds you of love, nature, and home. Asian-fusion done thoughtfully, rooted in Yunnan traditions and made for the Bay.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place to us. We've been trying to find a new place to dine at. We came here around 6 and placed our names on their kiosk/online waitlist. About 11-15 minute wait. We went to get a drink and was notified via text that our table was ready. Cute little place that's well decorated and well lit. Love that they gave our toddler her own eating bowl/plates and utensils. You order via the QR code. Food came out fast Truffle and mushroom rice - The rice was well flavored/savory with lop churn mixed it. This was my favorite dish. Fried Chicken with Tom Yum Sauce- Got this for our toddler. The chicken was light and with light breading. The sauce it came with was very spicy. Chicken Soup Rice Noodle - Light and homey. The noodles paired well with the soup. Soup although light still had great flavors. I can see eating this when sick. Our kiddo liked it. Laksa Shrimp Fried Rice - one of their popular items. Very delicious and you can order it spicy or not. Kind of reminds of Thai fried rice. Two unisex restrooms in the back. I do see us returning. Located in a large strip mall. Although there's a lot of parking it can get crazy during peak hours.

Yelp
I often believe that service is not a big deal, especially if the food is good. A little neglect, a little rudeness - that's fine. I'm introverted, I don't need smiles and check ups every five minutes like some places push their employees to be. But at Jun's, while the food is quite good (somewhere like a 4.5/5 for me), a particular trip ruined the experience and perception of the place. Admittedly, I went late, but still within a margin of closing (some hour left or so). And with the last customers leaving, it was a nice quiet place to grab a late dinner. But almost immediately after ordering our food, a worker began to mop the whole area around us with a pretty heavy duty cleaning formula. It was about 8:08 PM at this time, and now the whole store reeked of a heavy smell that found its way onto our food. What was typically a very tasty chicken stew, fried chicken, and bowl of noodles, began to mix with the odor. What was infuriating was that they started their clean up in all the seating around us - neglecting the other half of the store as if a very direct, indirect way of telling us to leave. I don't mind to-go'ing my food if asked - it's late, you need to clean up, let me know. But to do this is kind of deliberate, and it left a bad taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively). Come early for Jun's, and you'll have a good time. Come later, and you might be subject to some poor service that will destroy your palate.

Yelp
After seeing this spot all over my FYP on Instagram, I decided to check it out when I went back to the Bay, expecting modern Chinese cuisine (sort of like iChina). This spot surprised me with their heavily mushroom-based dishes, which were a bit more muted in flavor than what I was used to. We tried the laksa fried rice, fried tofu, and chicken curry, and I can definitely tell that they use wholesome, healthy ingredients and cooking methods to craft their dishes. Their drinks were also a hit, with the rose milk and the rice-based cocktail being deeply flavorful yet refreshing. This place is evidently a hit with Asian families (and I can definitely see my parents and grandparents liking this spot), and I highly recommend coming early before the lunch or dinner rush for healthy, modern Yunnan cuisine.

Yelp
Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 4 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Ok parking for street parking and parking lot parking. 2) Decoration : (3 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean neat 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are average . ( must be inflation ) 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of Chinese fusion food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in China. Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's need Overall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Go foodies Total max is 25 Score 18 Stars = 72% round up to 3 stars

Yelp
Jun Bistro is a small restaurant but very elegant. Wairess is very friendly and serves dishes quickly. Menu is mainly about mushrooms, which the mushroom is the popular element in Yunnan. Plus, mushrooms can bring special flavor to the cuisine. Therefore, if you like mushrooms, you should try at Jun Bistro. I like the tofu the most. Crispy outside and super soft in the inside. You can't miss this dish in Jun.

Yelp
Food was good! I came here with a friend and we agreed that the dishes were really good but for me personally I am not a huge fan of shiso or pineapple so the calamari and fried rice were not as enjoyable for me. However, even with ingredients I'm not a fan of, I would say they did a good job with the food and it was still tasty! My favorite dish would have to be the chicken noodle soup. The mustard greens complement the soup very well and the noodles are so so so good. Service was quick and attentive and they were very nice and friendly. They refilled my glass of water very frequently. The store is very nice and modern styled. The setting is kind of small and does feel a bit cramped though.

Yelp
I tried Jun Bistro and their food tastes as good as it looks. I tried the Laksa Shrimp Fried Rice and Stir Fry Cheung Fun. The fried rice had a nice aroma and umami to it, and the cheung fun was also stir fried well. The Braised Beef Noodle was also really good, but it was a bit too spicy for me. Drink wise, I tried the Rose Latte, which had a nice, balanced of rose flavor. I really liked the Falooda, which is a refreshing dessert that contains some bread dipped in coconut milk, taro, and red bean. Prices are on the higher side and seem to have gone up, but the food is really good. It appears that they rotate the menu regularly, but I also tried a wild mushroom dish and a lemongrass chicken pot that aren't on the menu anymore. I hope these dishes make a comeback!

Yelp
Second time here! They have more items on the menu now. Their food feels clean and not too heavy nor greasy! Their service was also very nice. I had some questions about the food and he was really patient.

Yelp
We came here on a weekday night and it was still very busy. We ordered many items, but the one that stood out to me the most was the mushrooms. The mushroom fried rice was very aromatic and tasted great. The stinky tofu and fried tofu were also delicious, though the stinky tofu was a bit more pungent than what I'm used to. Overall, I would definitely come back, but the portions for some items are a bit small and a little pricey. The service was also a bit slow, but that was likely because the restaurant was full.

Yelp
We came around 11:15am and were seated right away. Ordering was done through the phone, which was quick and easy. We got the Spicy Ground Pork Rice Noodle, Kids Rice Noodle, and the Truffle & Mushroom Rice (contains pork). Everything was delicious and satisfying without being overly salty. My toddler especially loved the truffle rice, and the kids rice noodle was perfect for little ones. The rice noodle texture was spot on--chewy and enjoyable. Service was decent and overall we had a nice dining experience.

Yelp
There might be a wait but totally worth it if you love eating mushrooms. That's the highlight of the menu as the namesake of the restaurant "jun / 菌" literally means that. Everything we sampled from the menu were decent and best out of the bunch was the mushroom rice. Totally worth the wait and they'll actually call you when your number is up so you don't need to hang around in front.

Yelp
This is my second review of Jun Bistro - The food unfortunately didn't hit the same the second time I came here. We got a few of the same things, and some new things. Street potato 4/5- a downgrade from the last time we came, but still good. Less oily, but also less flavorful. Wasn't cooked as crispy. Short rib 3/5 - less flavor and tenderness, the meat was also lukewarm when coming out. The sausage rice was lacking as well. Sea bass 2/5 - lacking much flavor, rubbery texture as if overcooked Fried tofu 4/5 - solid pick, tofu was nice and firm, not too oily. Super crispy and flaky skin. Roasted Eggplant cracker 5/5 - on the sweeter side but would definitely get it again. Rose Latte 3/5 - not bad Tom Yum Chicken 4/5 - solid pick, regular fried chicken with tom yum sauce Mint Beef 5/5 - must get. Refreshing and flavorful Service was solid. Ambiance was bustling. I wish they got the consistency down some more.

Yelp
Food is really good, if you like mushrooms, highly recommend checking this place out. We got the spicy beef rice noodles, mushroom stirfry, truffle fried rice, and squid. Was so flavorful and service is good!

Yelp
Show me a place which strives to avoid processed junk and other artificial stuff which shouldn't be in our foods and I am a fan! ***USP: Real food, without art anything!! ***Ambiance: decent sized restaurant with a lot of greenery (might be artificial though) smack dab in the center. ***Service: was ok, but they made our family of four change tables right in the middle of our meal to use that table for a larger group. No larger group or anyone else showed up to occupy that table. ***Food: *Mushroom conserva: 3/5: I had to order their name sake dish and I was slightly disappointed. The dish was essentially stir fried mushrooms plain and simple and some of them were pretty tough. *Fried tofu:4.5/5: I was impressed by this one, it's been a while since I had such delectable fried tofu, surprisingly soft in the center and slightly crispy outside. *Shrimp fried rice:4/5: pretty decent and umami rich, I wish they had alternate options like chicken fried rice on the menu though. *Tom yum fried chicken:4/5: the chicken was ok, the sauce on the side was sweet and sour. Not the best combination but passable. *Chicken noodle soup: 5/5: this was the best dish. I haven't had better broth in recent memory though it looked bland.

Yelp
I love this place! Super exciting to find a good quality restaurant that serves regional specialties from a particular area in China, Yunnan. Yunnan is known for its rice noodles and its mushrooms, and this place does not disappoint! I highly recommend the truffle mushroom rice which is super rich and filled with umami. There are actually quite a few truffle slices in the dish as well. I found myself picking every single rice grain off the bowl because of how good it was! Even better, I did not feel heavy or greasy at all afterward. I have also tried the stewed beef rice noodles, which have great broth -- however, the rice noodles were a bit overcooked. I would strongly recommend to stick with the rice, or maybe try other dishes too. Also strongly recommend the Pu-er Rose Latte -- super aromatic and great for detoxing your system. Pu-er is a non-caffeinated Chinese tea, so it's safe to drink at night.

Yelp
Stopped by on a Tuesday and it was pretty busy, very popular place in this plaza. Despite this, service was quick. It's a casual and modern looking interior, super clean and new! We ordered the Dry mixed spicy and sour rice noodle with pork, the fermented tomato fish soup pot, and the truffle and mushroom rice. Everything came out so quick and was super tasty! Beautifully presented too. Would come back again!

Yelp
What a amazing place. This is a lovely restaurant that is considered mushroom forward but offers a lot of new fusion style thai dishes.
google avatar

Eunice T.

Yelp
4.5 stars rounding up. I was initially suspicious of the high reviews since there were a lot so I was wondering if it was inflated. BUT! I really enjoyed everything we ordered. The spicy potato pot chicken was supposed to be spicy (I didn't think it was spicy), so we added more spice to it. No complaints about the taste and flavor though. The fried appetizers were perfectly crispy & flavorful. The rose pu er latte was very fragrant, and the tea flavor was pretty good. In terms of the service, I thought they were attentive. The server offered to bring us an extra bowl because she saw us struggling with putting the potato on the pile of rice. They also do water refills pretty quickly. I'll definitely be back to try their other dishes. Our neighboring table ordered the mushroom rice and it smelled soooo good.

Yelp
On a hot day I decided to visit this place with my fiance. There was no wait. The inside fits about 7-10 tables and had a lowkey feel. They have lofi hip hop playing in speakers with a minimalist table design. Their utensils are newer. We ordered some fried mushroom and tofu, spicy pot chicken potato, and beef offal saltado. Tofu / mushroom: amazing. Very crispy and yet soft on the inside. Warm and fresh. Spicy chicken potato pot: not spicy enough. We had to get 2 plates of spicy powder to make it spicy. They should have more spicy levels because it was not enough. But it was very flavorful. Beef offal saltado: pretty good. Soft intestines and chewy tripe with veggies. Well seasoned. Overall a solid visit and I would recommend to anyone craving yunnan food!
google avatar

Yenn T.

Yelp
Food was really good. Wild mushroom main course and stir fry cheung fun was excellent, super flavorful. Whole sea bass in banana leaf was alright, too many bones to pick out. Fried chicken app was decent, should've been cut up smaller imo and the dip was just ok. Service is typical but food came out fast and hot! Would come back
google avatar

Lindsay C.

Yelp
Google map directions are wrong and while we were on the freeway said we are here just Google directions to the 99 ranch market to get here. Seating was quick, order from the QR code on the menu and food came out quickly. They had kids bowls and utensils for the kids which was nice. Tried the truffle mushroom and it was tasty. Would recommend this.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is always packed so I finally decided to try it. I met up with a friend for dinner on a Tuesday and the entire restaurant was filled. Service was slow and food took a while to come out. However, they did apologize and gave a complimentary mushroom dish for the wait time. The food here is okay. It's comforting; it tastes like home cooking. However, it's not mind blowing or anything to rave about. My favorite dish was the cheung fun. The portions are plentiful and the price is okay. Not a must try, but a solid option to eat if you're in the McCarthy ranch area.
google avatar

Yelp
First time visiting this restaurant on a Friday and was surprised to see it packed with people -- always a good sign of great food! We ordered the banana leaf steamed fish, fried rice, and the fried mushroom appetizer. The mushrooms were amazing -- crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The fried rice was flavorful, but I have to give a big shout-out to the steamed fish: incredibly soft, fresh, and delicious. The sauce was a bit too spicy for me personally, but overall, everything was spot on. The staff were friendly and attentive, which is always a plus. Definitely adding this place to my go-to list. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I don't know what people usually order here, but I chose the LAKSA SHRIMP FRIED RICE and it was the BEST I've ever had. Even the table that sat next to us could smell the fragrant aroma of the fried rice. The vibes are chill this can be a place where you can spill tea with the girlies. The interior is so cute! Anyways, I definitely recommend y'all stopby and try them out when you're in the area

Yelp
Beef offal saltado is a must try. The taste is very unique and it's very delicious! Fries with spicy beef tripe, aorta, and intestine are great combinations. Lemongrass pot chicken is good too. Chicken mixed with mash potatoes and tomatoes makes a creamy and fresh taste. Jun Bistro is a Yun Nan style Chinese restaurant. If you want to try some unique and fresh Chinese cuisine, this is a great spot to explore.
google avatar

Kristine F.

Yelp
I've had Jun Bistro bookmarked for a few months and finally tried it out. Best decision ever! Every single dish we tried was amazing! Flavors are popping and so unique. Not your typical Chinese place. They're a Yunnan-inspired Asian fusion of Malay, Thai, Taiwanese, you name it! The interior has green all around with plants and trees separating the middle section. Very welcoming environment. The place was packed even on a Monday night. Scan the QR code and peruse the menu before ordering. Staff were pretty chill and actually asked us which dish we liked most at the end of the meal. We couldn't decide! I thought it was cool we got the fancy green water glasses while most people got plain clear ones. Eats: Signature Fried Tofu Crispy Oyster Mushroom Tempura Laksa Shrimp Fried Rice Stir Fried Cheung Fun Side of Braised Beef I've had laksa noodle soup before and expected more of a coconut flavor for the rice but the bits of pineapple threw me off a little. It was still delicious though because I love fried rice! Cheung fun was fried in little pieces, fun to eat! This also had thick slices of chopped bacon. Braised beef was savory and tender. Absolutely love fried tofu and mushrooms. For a minute, I couldn't tell which was which based on visuals alone. They offer plenty of drink options such as fresh sugar cane juice, tea lattes, plus coffee lattes with flavors like soy coconut and rose. For the adventurous, they also have "True Warrior's Fry Pupae", yes they have fried silkworms! I'll have to come back and bring the fam for some banana leaf wrapped sea bass, truffle mushroom rice, and all the food I already ordered.
google avatar

Yingshi H.

Yelp
I love the food here! It might be the best Yunnan cuisine I've had in California. It's quite popular, so we had to wait a bit for seating. The interior features a wooden design that gives off a natural, earthy vibe. The restaurant was clean and well-kept. Stir-Fried Cheung Fun: Infused with a smoky, fire-kissed aroma, this dish was seasoned with soy sauce and stir-fried with pork belly--flavorful and satisfying. Banana Leaf-Wrapped Seabass: The fish was incredibly tender and fresh, with a subtle spiciness and the fragrant essence of the banana leaf. I highly recommend trying their fish dishes! Wild Mushrooms Conserva: Rich mushroom aroma paired with perfectly balanced spicy seasoning--simple but delicious.

Yelp
4.5 stars This place is baby friendly. They provide a high chair and baby plates and spoons. They also provide crayons and a coloring picture to keep them occupied when they get antsy We ordered four entrees Truffle mushroom rice 10/10. We all loved this dish so much. Lots of mushrooms and can smell the truffle oil. Toddler loved this too Soymilk beef hot pot - 8/10. Lots of veggies and mushrooms. Savory soup. Cheung fen - 7.5/10 a little too greasy for me but my husband enjoyed it a lot Banana leaf sea bass - 7/10. Served with a curry sauce. The curry sauce is a bit mild.

Yelp
I always complain how it's hard to find a specialized mushroom restaurant in the Bay Area, and then.... Here we are. Jun bistro takes a unique speciality and stays true to it - from mushroom shaped cups to high quality mushroom dishes. The steamed rice with the assorted mushrooms was so delicious. I usually can't eat much rice in one sitting, but I felt like I wanted a second bowl. They have both affordable and pricier options as well, alongside unique desserts! There was a huge line here by 6 pm, but I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area to try something different

Yelp
Heard there is another Yunnan flavor restaurant opening in the area and decided to check it out. Jun Bistro is awesome. I ordered the chicken noodle soup and it taste authentic. The mushroom salad mix is also unique and good. The service is relatively fast too, but it is getting more popularity and I recommend you arrive early (hours picture attached). There about 12 small tables and nicely decorated inside. Plenty of parking as it sits in the shopping mall. Recommend!

Yelp
No wait time! Pro-tip: leave a review and they'll give you a complimentary drink or ice cream So far I tried the 云南玫瑰普洱拿铁 Yunnan Rose Pu'erh Latte and coconut coffee latte. Orders came out fast and perfectly sweetened. 酥脆炸蘑菇 Crispy Oyster Mushroom Tempura: came out hot, crunchy, juicy and perfectly seasoned mushroom goodness

Yelp
Food was actually so yummy! The eggplant rice cracker was a delight to eat and paired nicely together. The rice cracker was surprisingly sweet and the eggplant tasted like an Asian salsa. I would def order the signature tofu again. It was hot and crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. The mushroom rice was flavorful but it seemed like it had been sitting out for a while and I wish the temp was warmer like I want to see steam coming out of that pot. Would probably just order the mushroom appetizer next time. The chicken pot flavor was okay but the tenderness of the chicken made up for it. Their plain white rice was so good though idk what kind of magic they put into it. Excited to come back and try the rest of their menu.

Yelp
I had a pretty great experience here! No complaints really. Quick service and perfectly flavored food. Everything I tried was a hit! Coconut Coffee was strong and creamy. Caffeinated well. The Spicy Lemon Fish was tender and had the perfect amount of sauce. Not too spicy! The Laksa Shrimp Fried Rice is also definitely worth the hype! I highly recommend. Sooooo good.

Yelp
03/12/2025 came here for lunch with a friend The inside was nice; got a few fake plants in the middle. I would say it is pretty elegant. we ordered through the QR code, and the order came extremely fast. stir-fry assorted wild mushroom ($24) had a strong flavor component with a wide variety of mushrooms and red bell peppers. It was slightly spicy, which I enjoyed. Laksa Shrimp Fried Rice ($18) tasted like it was wok-fried. The flavor was not too strong and it was a great combo with the wild mushrooms we ordered. Though I am not too sure I tasted pineapples. The table next to use ordered a lot more and safe to say that the dishes all look like the photos provided in the app. It was a unique experience to try different dishes. There is also fried silkworm for those who want to try.

Yelp
If you cannot read and speak Chinese, this is not the restaurant for you. No paper menus If 'hot tea' was on the menu, I could not find it. Ordered steamed sea bass. There was a 30 minute wait for this item. Not attractive. You had to pick the meat of this very bony fish (I am not sure it was a 'sea bass.' Service was poor. I had to literally tackle an employee (not my server) to pay the bill. Most importantly, however, if you cannot read and speak Chinese, you will have extreme difficulty eating at this restaurant. I have never before encountered this is a Chinese restaurant in California, Las Vegas, or New York City.
google avatar

Laura L.

Yelp
First off, I had pretty high expectations from this restaurant because the dinner wait was about 30 minutes and there was a huge crowd of people waiting outside the restaurant. It's in the 99 ranch plaza which has a ton of food options so restaurants are quite competitive here! We opted for some of their most popular items like the fire roasted eggplant, braised angus beef rice noodle, stir fried cheung fun, fried tofu, and fried oyster mushroom. We also got a side of you tiao (fried donut) to eat with the beef noodle soup. Our favorites were the beef noodle soup, eggplant, and cheung fun (although a tad oily.) Honestly everything here was very good and we would come again! Price was reasonable as well and service was fast.

Yelp
Dinner date at Jun Bistro a Southeast Asian fusion restaurant with Yunnan influence. We came on a friday night around 6 pm which was extremely busy, wait time for a party of 2 was about 40-45 mins. Their menu is interesting with many different options like hotpot, soups, whole fish dishes, braised chicken, stew pots, and many more. Here is what we ordered: For drinks: -Coconut coffee latte served in a super cute mushroom glass. -Pain killer" cocktail For food: -Banana leaf wrapped Seabass -Laksa shrimp fried rice -Tom yum fried chicken For dessert: -Youtiao Bread Pudding With Toasted Coconut -Truffle ice cream Food here is really delicious, everything is tasty and cooked to perfection. I definitely recommend the whole fish was soft and flavorful and the Tom Yum fried chicken was to die for.... That Tom Yum dipping sauce elevated that fried chicken dish. I also want to come back to try the other whole fish dish and the hot pots. I noticed a lot of tables with the burners and hotpot dishes. It must be good

Yelp
Our party of three got the last table at a little after 6pm on a Saturday. We ordered a chicken stew with potatoes (not sure of exact name), pate with youtiao, and truffled mushroom sausage rice. Everything was good, except we felt the Chinese sausage overpowered the truffle flavor. Service was responsive in that when we mistakingly received the spicy version of the chicken stew, they acknowledged the mistake and asked us to keep both versions. They also brought out a fun school bus-shaped plate and utensils for our toddler. Many tables around us ordered fish dishes and mushrooms in various forms. I look forward to returning to try more dishes.

Yelp
We tried the lemongrass chicken and potato and the braised angus beef rice noodle. The lemongrass dish was packed with flavor. The noodle soup was perfectly seasoned, not too salty, and the beef melted in my mouth. The ambience of the restaurant is modern and pretty. Service is great, waiters are prompt. Overall great experience. Long wait on weekends fyi but I would take visiting friends here! It's that good.

Yelp
Service: nice Ambiance: casual Food: This is definitely in my top 3 places to get fish! If you love spicy, flavorful, tender fish, you need to try this lemon thai chili seabass! They also have a seabass wrapped in banana leaf that is less spicy and in a coconut curry sauce! Jun Bistro also specializes on Yunnan cuisine which means many of their dishes feature mushrooms! I recommend getting their Coconut Coffee in a mushroom cup as well as their Steam Chicken Consomme with Matsutake Soup -- it's light, aromatic, and earthy. It's a good soup to start off your day if you like chinese herbal soups! They also have a ton of other dishes I was eyeing like their Truffle and Mushroom Rice, Crispy Oyster Mushroom Tempura, and Chicken Liver Pate with Chinese Donut If you love trying multiple dishes, come with a group and do family style here!

Yelp
Jun Bistro has popped up a few times in my social media feeds and as a recommendation on Yelp as well. I can wee why...the food was very good. Interesting decor, lots of Green, I'm not sure if it was due to the Holiday season or if that is just their theme. We waltzed in for an early dinner and were seated right away. I wasn't a fan of the seating arrangement, a bit too close to you neighbors for my liking. Decor is cool. There was no physical menu, use the QR code on a table to place your order. #ChineseFusion: ~ 芭蕉叶包烧鱼 Banana leaf wrapped seabass - 5/5 The whole Seabass is steamed, head, tail and all topped with some sort of Yellow sauce presented on a Banana leaf. Brilliant! Soft and tender; very good flavor with diced Chilies and Cilantro on the side. There are plenty of bones abound so be careful. ~ 酸腌菜火腿炒肠粉Stir Fry Cheung Fun - 5/5 I'm almost positive this is nothing like a traditional Cheung Fun...I could be wrong, don't quote me. Either way this was delish! Loved the chewy texture and the Garlic flavor, just right, not overpowering. This was also a fair bit bigger than I was expecting. ~ 叻沙菠萝菌菇虾炒饭Laksa Shrimp Fried Rice - 4/5 Fried rice was simple. Perfectly done; not oily or greasy, just right. A good Fried Rice dish with Mushroom, Pineapple and Shrimp topped with an Egg. Good size portion! No issues returning to try the rest of the menu out. The food portions were bigger than I was expecting. The place was completely packed when we left...with good reason.

Yelp
Everything was really delicious! The Yunnan street food home fries --my favorite dish out of all-- had so much depth of flavor for such a simple dish. The broth of the Angus beef noodle soup was seasoned perfectly; rice noodles had the perfect consistency. I even love the Stirfried cheung fun that had here. I think it's the only place that makes them besides my family. And it did not disappoint. The other dishes also shined uniquely on its own as well. The whole atmosphere was really cozy and the interior was absolutely beautiful! Very tranquil in fact.

Yelp
This review is directed at the poor service and false advertising of this restaurant. First of all, the service is terrible. Dining here tonight (Friday evening), it was extremely difficult to get the attention of any server throughout the entire meal, let alone having plates cleared or water refilled. Secondly, what is most unbelievable is that the restaurant prominently advertises a 10% discount on its website for people working in Milpitas, Mountain View, Santa Clara, and Fremont. At checkout, the server initially denied the existence of such a discount. After we showed her the website, she then claimed that this discount only applies on certain specific holidays. As a customer, I feel deceived. The website prominently advertises the discount to attract customers, but there is no indication anywhere about limited availability or specific dates. Regardless of the taste of the dishes at this restaurant, its integrity as a business is undoubtedly questionable.

Yelp
This review would have been 5 stars BUT there is a serious case of FALSE ADVERTISING happening on their website. The first thing on the website is a banner that says 10% off for employees working in Milpitas, Santa Clara, San Jose, Mountain View, and Fremont if they present a valid work ID. I thought, sweet, my dad who works in Milpitas can bring his ID and we can save some money. However, when he presented the ID the server made an incredulous face and said we have nothing like this. When I pulled up the website, she said oh that's expired it's just for the holidays, yet there is no expiration date AND Martin Luther King Jr day is this weekend (we went Friday night)! So, either the website is outdated, the server is uneducated, or the owner is lying to get more customers through the door. Either way, not a great look for the restaurant AND I pointed it out, so might as well honor it right? Also, it was almost impossible to find a server at the end to get the tab. ANYWAYS the food was still really good and which is why this review isn't one star and why it would have been 5 stars if not for the sour experience at the end. Props to the chef! Truffle and mushroom rice (5/5): Super rich and savory, would 100% recommend! The blend of savory mushrooms complement the salty Chinese sausage to create a delightful culinary experience. True Warriors Fry Pupae (5/5): My first time trying pupae (the third stage of metamorphosis, when a larva transitions to a full adult butterfly, moth, etc.). I was pleasantly surprised at the taste (slightly nutty and lightly crunchy). I would definitely try this again! Banana Leaf Wrapped Seabass (5/5): Tender fish, yummy sauce, what more can you ask for? I really enjoyed the bass and would definitely eat it again. IF I decide to return next time I also want to try the Spicy Lemon Fish which also sounded delicious. So will I return next time? I really really want to for the food, but the poor service and false advertising really ate into my experience. Ah, the dilemma!

Yelp
Really good restaurant if you enjoy mushrooms! Came on a friday and the wait was about 20min for 3 people.

Yelp
I love mushrooms. Came to Jun for a mushroom dish, but everything here is pre-mixed either with chilly, pork, or offal.

Yelp
Jun Bistro is a charming gem in Milpitas Square, bringing the bold, vibrant spirit of Yunnan street food to the Bay Area. The menu offers a flavorful journey through regional delights: we indulged in crispy fried chicken paired with a zesty housemade Tom Yum sauce, while standout dishes like braised Angus beef noodles capture the comforting essence of Yunnan cooking. Playful touches--like coconut coffee lattes--add a refreshing, modern twist to the experience. The service was quick and courtesy.
