This was my second time visiting Junction Bistro, the first time was a couple of years ago, just when they had opened. I liked the casual vibe of the place, with a marble bar and tables, and wood accents. It vaguely reminds me of some NYC casual restsurants, or maybe the Bistro in Paris. I am not a fan of the way the service works, wgmhich is order at the cash register, sit down and wait for the food (they give you a number). As a customer, I feel that the incentive of the few and very busy servers they have to give excellent service is somewhat reduced (when paying for the food, you are asked to give a tip, which in this type of restaurant set up is sort of counter intuitive (?). What am I tipping, exactly? The food (at least what I ordered) is serviceable, but not excellent. I ordered a "chorizo" burrito (the chorizo was spicy ground chicken, lacking the characteristic garlicky-paprika taste of either Mexican or Spanish chorizo) that also was overstuffed with guacamole, black beans, pico de gallo, american cheese(I think) and wrapped in a flour tortilla. The burrito was enoumous, but it distinctly lacked seasoning (salt, spices) and the ingredients' flavors were muted. It was served with a big portion of breakfast fries (freshly fried cubed potatoes, red peppers and onions) which were served hot, crispy and well seasoned; these were delicious. While I was eating, I asked the server for a glass of water and she pointed to me to the two glass containers with water (with or without lemons) for self-service, which is fine to me, but why am I tipping again, exactly? Finally, my opinion is that Junction Bar's food and very, very light service vis à vis their prices Has Room for improvement. Maybe having more servers on the floor, and better quality control and consistency of their food are areas of improvement for their offer

Giving this place a solid 5 for overall experience I stopped by Junction for lunch with a friend and this was my first time here. I got a bit overwhelmed at first because they have a few different menus and also one posted on the wall. I proceeded to ask the waitress what her favorite dishes were and she said “there’s a lot that I like” I liked her response because It means she tried a lot of the dishes and there really isn’t much you could go wrong with. She began going into detail about the different dishes and that made me feel really comfortable because while she was explaining I was reading the menu and she was spot on. She spoke with so much passion I was excited to enjoy my meal. We ordered a set of wings, the drunken fish combo and the $5 happy hour punch. & not to mention there Happy Hour is Monday- Friday 11-8pm! I love It here! lol I like my wing fried hard which they weren’t but they were cooked well. The fish sandwich was HUGE & crunch my on the outside but soft on the inside. The fries were my favorite- so tasty. The drink was not your typical rum punch which was a nice touch but was definitely not expecting that. I would definitely come again and maybe next time try some of the baked goods!

I have tried the seasonal cruffin from Junction Bakery on a few occasions. And enjoyed it. This summer I tried their mango passion fruit cruffin and while it was a perfect croissant filled with a nice tropical and fluffy cream, it was bit much to eat it all in one sitting. I’d recommend for sharing. The chive biscuit breakfast sandwich with sausage was filling and flavorful. The portion size is HUGE! It took me two days to finish what was a very tasty breakfast. I will absolutely find my way back here for brunch sooner vs. later.

I came here with my wife for her birthday to get pre-dinner drinks. No exaggeration....Best Mule I've ever had! They make their own ginger beer and that must be what does it. So incredibly good. The bartender was also super friendly and I can't wait to come back with friends!

I went this past Saturday for breakfast with my family, and it was truly the greatest experience! The manager, Tracy Morales made our visit exceptional. She was quick, friendly, and welcoming, and the service was outstanding. The food was absolutely delicious, and the entire place was clean and well-maintained. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great breakfast experience!

Yelp
I have been to Junction many times but this time was for a work happy hour. The manager on shift, Tracey, was delightful! So attentive and also working behind the bar. We had a large group and everyone loved the set up being semi-private and closed off. We had the tables with food on the backside of the area and was nicely tucked away for people to move around and still go sit or stand in the space. We got the cheese/meat platter, loaded tots, mojo quesadillas, mambo chicken sliders, crab cake sliders, Ruben egg rolls, and mini cubano sandwiches. Everything was hot and freshly made when we got there! My favorite was the Mojo quesadilla. I will absolutely be coming back to get that for a lunch or dinner option. I had the Natalie's Margarita and the Orange liquor they had in it was really tasty! Overall, this is a delicious place and has so many yummy choices for every meal. Highly recommend!

Lilianne N.

Yelp
Overall no! I do not recommend going to this Bistro! Slow stuff, confused, two different price menus! They have raised their prices but some menus are still reflecting the old ones! Way too pricey for what they serve! Not going back.

Yelp
On Labor Day, my family and I had a late brunch at Junction Bistro, Bar, and Bakery. Being a holiday, they didn't offer happy hour all day. We ordered at the counter and were given a number to place on our table. We had the option to sit indoors or outdoors. Since it was a nice day, we sat outdoors. I liked how most of the tables outdoors were shaded with an umbrella. For drinks, each of us enjoyed a glass of White Sangria. It was sweet, peachy, and refreshing. We shared two Tomato Rose Soup's, two Sesame Kale Salad, and one Vitality Citrus Salad. The Tomato Rose Soup consisted of slow cooked tomato with rosé and cream and garnished with shaved breadcrumbs. It's the best tasting Tomato Soup we had in the DMV. Both of the salads were healthy and hearty. Between the two salads, I liked the taste of Sesame Kale Salad a bit better. I think if Vitality Citrus Salad was dressed with a balsamic vinaigrette without the berbere, it would taste better.

Yelp
Bistro, bar and bakery, what more do you need? This location is very nice and spacious on the inside. Great place to sit down with a coffee. It was my first time coming here and it did not disappoint, the customer service was great and very friendly. The menu here is very expansive with a breakfast, daily and brunch menu all on different times. They also have "all day" Happy Hour from 11am-8pm, Mon-Fri. The food all had great portions and was very tasty. I highly recommend the General Tso's Cauliflower.

Nkemjika O.

Yelp
Really beautiful space that had high ceilings plenty of seating options and vibe that felt very industrial but warm. I ordered their take on a Philly cheesesteak, but without the onions and sauce, and although the short rib was extremely tender, it definitely needed the sauce so would not recommend ordering without. I also think it maybe you would need the onions onions The fries were delicious, as was the ginger turmeric latte. My friend had the oatmeal and scrambled eggs and enjoyed those as well. Nice quick lunch outing, would recommend!

Ameena A.

Yelp
Although I only briefly stopped in - huge fan of this place so far! They have gluten free options (although no bread, which does make me sad), and the server was super friendly with customizing my drink (I wanted less syrup than normal). The ambiance is sooo cute - I feel like you could go here for multiple purposes: to eat/drink, to socialize, to work, to read, etc. I also feel like there was a lot of space! Although I'm not in the area super frequently, whenever I am, I now plan to stop in :)

Ree M.

Yelp
I have been to junction many times for lunch. The food was always decent and tasty. However, I returned for happy hour today, and it was an absolute travesty. Neither me nor my friend could finish our food. We had the burrata, the tots and the burger. Save your money and go elsewhere, there are far better options in DC or downtown Bethesda.

John R.

Yelp
Never ever disappointed here! The menu is full of delicious option made in house with Fresh ingredients. The Staff is wonderful. Noe L, every time I'm working across the street I get a smile on my face because I know I get to ear here. A+++

Yelp
I came here with my family on a brisk Saturday morning for brunch. You have to go to the counter to order but then they give you a number and bring the food to the table. There is a water and condiments station and you can sit wherever you choose. I enjoyed the open layout because I was able to take my kids outside while the rest of my party waited for our delicious grub. There were lots of patrons enjoying their lattes and all their orders looked amazing. We had the biscuits & gravy, chorizo burrito, and the cubano sandwich - all these dishes were flavorful and the portions were great. They also have a solid kids brunch menu - the buttered noodles and grilled cheese were totally what the kids wanted. Overall, the atmosphere was inviting and the food was well worth the visit

Jacky C.

Yelp
Stopped by for brunch. They do semi-table service, where you have to order at the front counter, but they will bring the food to you. Plenty of space to sit inside or outside on the patio. I ordered the Country Sandwich ($16), which consisted of breakfast sausage, scrambled egg, cheddar cheese served on a house-made cheddar-chive biscuit. It came with home fries on the side. Overall the sandwich was really good and filling. Had a concern that it would be heavy, but was not the case here. I have to say that they over fried the home fries. Other than that, I am a fan.

Gloria A.

Yelp
Just had coffee and pastries-- Pastries are huge (unnecessarily). Cruffin (passion fruit and mango) was great. Huge. I think it was as tall as a coffee, double the size of a muffin. The only relevance to a muffin was in shape. They strangely served it on it's bottom on top of napkins. By the time they had brought it to my table it had fallen over, the whip cream topping fallen off , and eating it was complicated as the custard/cream inside stuck to the napkins. The ham and cheese croissant was similarly clumsy---it was created in the size of a pain au chocolat and a slight croissant curve at the end. However, because they then had to unevenly fold the ham inside, it was not warmed throughout evenly. AND the ham was unpleasantly cold and chunky in spots. They should either stick to a complete square shape, or a complete long shape for the ham and cheese to be more evenly spread out. Rating is for taste and ambiance, not staff nor functionality and awkwardness of the pastries. It is a wonderful new addition to the neighborhood! Looking forward to trying the lunch items.

Kimya P.

Yelp
Very positive experience. They were happy to answer questions about allergies and add notes to the order as further precaution - which I especially appreciated. Sausage links and cheddar biscuit were delicious, and they validated our parking for the lot across the way. Would come back!

Carole L.

Yelp
Well the food my be Good but it is very expensive and NEVER order online. I got there and my order was not even started and I had people coming over in 30 minutes. They were in no hurry to help me And offered me Nothing for my inconvenience I won't be back. You might want to think twice took

Beth W.

Yelp
So glad I came here despite the negative reviews. It's a welcoming place, with lovely tables, floors and lighting. We tried the lemon meringue cruffin, biscuit egg sandwich, and the morning after bowl. He said it was one of the best breakfast sandwiches he's had in a long time. Everything was delicious!

Leslie A.

Yelp
The food is great. The pastry not varied but outstanding. The ambiance is good but it gets noisy (i assume the acoustics). What always pleases me the most is the employees (all foreign) who work diligently in all rotating assignments. They do everything well. And when you come back, no matter how much time, they remember you.

Phoebe D.

Yelp
Great place to study or work near the Friendship Heights station! I got a Country breakfast sandwich, an iced lavender honey latte, and the two cruffin flavors they had (churro and mango passionfruit). The breakfast sandwich was very good although definitely a bit heavy. The cheddar chive biscuit was super moist and had a nice chew, and the home fries that it comes with were surprisingly really good - crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside, and I like that they're fried with peppers and onions. It was expensive for a breakfast sandwich but it is Chevy Chase, so that's to be expected, and it was a really huge portion. The lavender honey latte had a strong lavender flavor and would definitely be good for people who prefer their lattes to not have a strong milky flavor. However, they do put dried lavender in the actual drink which might be a plus for some people but I'd definitely ask to leave it out the next time I visit. Honestly, I'd probably give 5 stars for the cruffins alone because they were amazing! I asked for them to go and they packaged them individually in cute little boxes. I was worried that they'd be too sweet as I've had filled croissant type pastries before that just tasted like sugar bombs, but I thought these hit a perfect balance. The croissant part was buttery and flaky and the filling was a custard base with different flavors for the two different cruffins - the churro one had a slight cinnamon flavor and the mango passionfruit had a fruity flavor with cubed mango. They are also HUGE - easily the size of my fist and probably even larger, but I still could probably eat a whole one by myself because they were that good. Overall, the service was great and there's plenty of seating inside and free wifi so I'd definitely go back for a coffee and more cruffins!

Mitch M.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place for brunch and bloody Marys. Kid friendly. Order at the counter. Real flatware.

Henry M.

Yelp
Pleasant staff, nice ambience with plenty of space, and tasty food (e.g. falafel bites or Reuben egg rolls with house pastrami), drinks (a lot of nice coffee choices), and 11am-8pm happy hour! I'll be back when I'm in the neighborhood and not eating at Sushi Ko.

Jake B.

Yelp
Went here for breakfast with my family, loved it. The salmon toast was my personal favorite, but everything was excellent. We ate outside too, which was really peaceful. Definitely recommended!

Elaina A.

Yelp
Disappointed for the last time today. I ordered the NOVA lox sandwich and it was inedible. Salmon was slimy. Tomatoes were bland. No salt, no seasoning. The bread was smothered in cream cheese. Not of it tasted right. This is the 3rd or 4th time I have ordered and spent nearly $20 on a sandwich that I could not enjoy. The location is right outside of my office building, so I have given it many attempts when I have wanted a quick bite in a pinch. They were always overpriced but at least the food was decent, not anymore. I ordered french toast bites once and got an order of fries with syrup. That's how bad it is. Kicking myself for hoping it would get any better. I feel robbed.

Naomi C.

Yelp
I needed a good lunch spot to meet a former colleague and this was midway between us. Having never been here, I just ensured they had vegetarian options, which they do, and parking (which they also do, but it's metered/paid). It's located close to the Shops at Wisconsin Place and would be great for a bite while shopping. I tried the southwest salad and I believe she got the beet salad. We were not disappointed. The salads were excellent, the vegetables fresh and crisp, and the dressings unique. The spot is unique and the entire menu is well balanced and looks delicious. I would definitely got back to try more of the menu, especially with the location.

Timo F.

Yelp
The interior is pleasant Aamerican-French bistro fusion; spacious if not a bit loud during peak times. The food flavors & presentation seem to be very consistently delicious throughout. Some of the small and simple menu items (kids grilled cheese for $8 seem unnecessarily over priced... especially for café style/ non full service. when you want to pair kids grilled cheese with a small tomato soup it's gonna cost you more than 16 bucks. I highly recommend the Cruffins!! (croissant-muffins)

Brittany C.

Yelp
This spot was super cute. Brussels could have used a little bit more of a crisp but weren't too bad. Bought chicken salad to go and I have to say I'm a fan of the curry. I'll be back for sure to eat around the menu.

liz g.

Yelp
I love this restaurant and will definitely be returning! We ordered the salmon, the pot roast and the chicken salad sandwich. The pot roast was some of the best pot roast I've ever had and the salmon was cooked to perfection. So excited to come back and try the whole menu. The prices are also affordable :)

Ruqaiijah Y.

Yelp
Breakfast sandwich was tasty. It was well seasoned and so were the potatoes that came with it. You should also try the cruffin, which was was sweet. I had the Carmel flavor.

Chuck D.

Yelp
This was our first time going to this hotspot. It has a great ambience. It's a bar, bistro, and bakery. And we found everything to be delightful. The service was excellent! Our server, and everyone else was wonderful. We went there for a late brunch and the food was delicious. We had huevos rancheros and potatoes. With some regular black coffee. We will definitely be back to sample more of their delicious delights.

Kara B.

Yelp
Junction is a great spot for just about anything you could want! I've stopped in for just a coffee and pastry and have also sat down for dinner, drinks, and weekend brunch. Great atmosphere both indoors and on the patio, excellent food, and great coffee and cocktails! My favorites so far are the peanut butter cup latte and the salmon bowl. This is a great spot to come with a group of friends or coworkers. Everyone orders and pays at the counter and food/drinks are brought to the table (so no awkward check dances or Venmo math to do). Staff is super nice and this is such a nice addition to the neighborhood!

Mei T.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem! The ambiance, service, and food/drink is superb. I have found myself coming back time and time again for the hot Dulce de Leche Latte while hunkering down to study. The free wifi is fast and there is ample seating during the day. Unfortunately, there are very few outlets so come with charged devices. For food, I tried the Cubano and Huevos Rancheros. The Cubano was good but not groundbreaking, though it was very large and filling. The Huevos Rancheros were also a large portion that was very tasty. I would get it again! Overall, I highly recommend stopping by for a casual lunch or to study. I also heard that it has a great ambience in the evening.

Aakash T.

Yelp
Great spot. Real third place for the neighborhood! Excellent food, service, and vibe. Would love 8am instead of 9am breakfast if possible. See you soon!!

Pallavi A.

Yelp
Excellent coffee, delicious breakfast! A lovely place that we unfortunately couldn't enjoy bc we were waiting to hear about our cats health from Friendship Animal Hospital down the road. Even in our sadness, we couldn't ignore how amazing everything tasted. We will have to go back when we are less in despair!

Amy S.

Yelp
I came for dinner and had the southwest salad and shared the buffalo cauliflower. The salad was just ok. I liked the cauliflower. Overall, the food is pricey and paid parking doesn't help. Friendship heights is deserted now so it makes no sense to charge for parking. I would only come here if I happened to be in the area as there aren't many other choices. There isn't much service- you order at the register. The ambiance is casual but clean and comfortable. There is some outdoor seating.

D D.

Yelp
Good concept, mediocre food. Have been several times since it opened a few years ago, but the food is generally underwhelming, often greasy, often bland, always overpriced. Shame, because the area definitely needs more casual lunch spots. One extra star for the bakery, which does put out a nice pastry.

B G.

Yelp
I've been to the Alexandria Junction over ten times and the newer Bethesda one. There's a lot they do well and it would be a go to for breakfast. But, scrambled eggs should be scrambled, here they're not, EVER. They are prepared like an omelet, sometimes not even flipped. They're not scrambled. Typically, burnt. This is so easy to fix. Please, train the staff. If you put scrambled eggs on the menu, maybe scramble them, or just say eggs our way, so we know not to order them. Don't go if eggs are your thing, they're better and much cheaper almost anywhere in the DMV. Mgt is not paying attention here.

Polina T.

Yelp
This is a great brunch spot and they have the most extensive Bloody Mary menu I've ever seen. I'm not really a pancakes and waffles type of person, but the menu here has something for everyone. The space is large, clean/modern, and bright with lots of natural light. There's paid parking (like much of Chevy Chase) nearby. The only thing that could be improved was service. One of the cashiers was very unfamiliar with their menu, the bartender had kind of an attitude, and they kept forgetting my friend's drink.

Khadija S.

Yelp
What a great space, in the busy of a little shopping center. Tried their famous croffin (mango and passion fruit) and it did not disappoint. Will definitely be coming back to try some of the other croffins and brunch items. The only let down was the jalapeño chive scone. It was way way too salty and dry. But otherwise really good experience.

Amir Matin S.

Yelp
Burger was great! Bun was good - not the best I've had, but not bad. Fries were excellent. Very pricey though, the burger and fries were almost $20 (and $9 for a small slice of cheesecake??). Otherwise this place is great.

Ashley G.

Yelp
There is a beautiful atmosphere inside and out. It was a perfectly quiet setting that was perfect for studying. I had an iced rose petal latte that tasted very good! The only critique I have is that there were not many outlets available.

Kelly F.

Yelp
Lovely place. Easy to order and the service was wonderful. I had the lox on toast (and they did not skimp on the salmon!) and my husband had the huevos rancheros and the tortilla underneath remained crispy until the end. Also, they served me a Bellini in a wine glass! Totally a bang for your buck place!

George C.

Yelp
Always great service and good food. I think a lot people, like myself come here to settle in and do some work on our laptops but the music is always loud. I have asked for it to be turned down but those requests have been ignored.

Joanne S.

Yelp
We enjoyed several breakfasts here while staying in a hotel down the street. THIS PLACE WAS GREAT!! Bountiful servings & the entire staff is attentive & professional! They actually remembered my husband wanted half & half in his coffee & they warmed it too. Certainly made us feel they valued our business. The pastries are fresh & the potatoes can't be beat. We thought the prices were fair & consistent with the quality & quantity of food. (About the same price as the hotel breakfast but far superior quality & many more choices!!!) *And - the wallpaper in the restrooms is adorable!*

Sasha F.

Yelp
Great space, food, and wait staff. You have to put your order in at the counter then grab a seat. Okay for pricing, but that could prob just be me and what I ordered. Potatoes are good and is the buicuts and gravy. Well organized and yummy food so I'll deff be back!

Lisa M.

Yelp
I am a French fry connoisseur and these fries are excellent! Also love the smash burger and their homemade breads are excellent!

Radhika P.

Yelp
The most amazing drinks and the most friendly staff. Leigh at the bar is the most amazing artist of cocktails. Tracy's leadership is evident on the upkeep and attentiveness of the staff. Kudos to the entire team. I highly recommend the espresso martini and a mezcal margarita. Keep it up Leigh and Tracy and the entire junction team.

Shibani M.

Yelp
Nice vibe. Good Bellinis. Friendly service. The food needed to be seasoned more but was generous portions.

Michelle C.

Yelp
Corporate feeling atmosphere, well-seasoned food. They have alcohol. I'm sure I'll go back since there aren't tons of options nearby, but the $10 stale slice of lemon cake made me very sad. I brought it home to savor later so couldn't swap it for a fresher slice or let the staff know. But they should know...

Mary Ann N.

Yelp
It's a great little community spot for a simple lunch and a matcha tea latte. They have you order at register and bring to the table so it's fast and easy.

H L.

Yelp
This is a wonderful neighborhood eatery and breakfast spot. Healthy menu items and solid food. The outdoor space is very pleasant. I highly recommend.

Farhad M.

Yelp
Great setting & selection of foods. Nice to see history of the neighborhood is also captured in this place. They maintain the place well. On the negative side, the price for the food & drinks offered is on the high side.
