Dallas’ Saddest Restaurant Closures of 2018 - Eater Dallas

"The former Deep Ellum chef incubator shuttered this spring despite new ownership. It lost its chef Joshua Harmon, who introduced a broad array of fermented foods and foraged ingredients." - Alaena Hostetter

Small digs with great selection! We showed up around 11 am on a Sunday, were immediately seated without a reservation. Started with their house biscuits and homemade jelly, which were great starters for breakfast. Also had bottomless coffee and weren't stingy with the refills. Our server Collin was very helpful and polite with his insight on what his favorites were, ended up going with the Fried Green Tomato Benedict. Overall a great experience, highly recommend.

Everything I've had at this place is creative, novel and delicious. The service is excellent and the people are those gregarious, joyful types that make you just wanna stick around and hangout. One of my favorite new brunch / dinner/ cocktail / late night spots in Dallas (yes they do all of those, and they do all of them well).

Very mediocre brunch - service was pretty bad and the food just didn't add up to how the menu described it. Pork belly was barely present in the fried Green tomato Benedict. Also - some people at my table got red tomatoes instead of green. While not a huge deal, why would this be advertised differently? Would not recommend for brunch. Hope it's better for dinner.

Just like every place in deep ellum, it has its own atmosphere of class and art. It's intimate with a few bar stools and dining tables. The food was uniquely made, I had 3 different dishestyles each one with a distinct taste of flavors and ingredients. The bartender, Byron, made me a classic cocktail that was not on the menu. The artwork in the restaurant was handpicked in with great taste!

Good food, wonderful cocktails, and a well executed theme. Going through the kitchen, walking past the smell of all the food, and pushing into the curtains make the atmosphere feel almost exclusive and cozy. One of the best concepts in Deep Ellum and definitely the best bartender make this speakeasy feel extremely entertaining.

The head chef is no longer there. We thought the food was just okay the Kaya toast was way too hard and not enough Kaya spread. The bulgogi was a piece of meat that was not well seasoned. The KFC fried chicken was the best dish. It was well done, crispy and moist inside. Our favorite was the Brownie that the waitress mother-in-law made. Sweet and moist

Food was THE BOMB. I wish I took pics, it was pretty too. Everything was good, the: Bread pudding, fried chicken and sour cream waffle, green tomatoes and the drinks. Annnd, our server, which was the hostess bc the were busy, was soooooo awesome and fun and patient.

So, I go in expecting great thing. Because I was told great things. Only to find out different. OMG LET ME TELL YOU. First, the waiting staff sucks, and there really rude. Started with one and then some how they switched and this other guy took our order. They didn't know the menu too well, and kinda got an attitude when you ask a question. Second, I told him no mustard. My chilli dog stills comes out wth mustard the take it back, now I'm thinking the going make a new one...only to find out that THEY WIPED IT OFF AND RESERVED ME THE SAME HOT DOG!!!!!!! that really ruffled my feathers. Omg I'm allergic to MUSTARD is the reason why I said no mustard. Then you take it back and WIPE it off? Where they do that at? Like that classless not to mention DISCUSSING. Third, the waiter could be a like more easy on the eyes and presentable. They looked really sloppy, and I thought my waiter ZITS were going to busted @ any moment all over my food! #yikes Oh I never do reviews, but I COULD NOT let this one pass.
