June-Nairah Halal Food Restaurant

Stopped by this spot near the Golden Mosque last rainy afternoon craving some proper Maranao flavors, and man, it delivered. The rendang was rich, tender, and packed with that perfect spicy kick—exactly what I was hoping for. Paired it with the beef kulma and a big scoop of rice; everything tasted fresh and authentic, like home-cooked but better. The place is cozy, spacious enough to relax, and you can smell the spices the second you walk in. Yeah, it was a little chilly from the rain, but the food came out hot and stayed that way till the last bite. Super friendly vibe too—staff even suggested extras when they saw us eyeing the menu. Totally worth the trip, especially if you love bold, spicy Maranao eats. Coming back for sure to try more. 5 stars, no doubt.

Very close to the golden mosque, you come here for Maranao food. The food is good but the only thing I would suggest is that they keep it warm because it was kind of cold already especially since it has been raining the whole morning. However, they are very accommodating to my questions about the food. They also give free turmeric soup and palapa (very spicy). Each viand cost P100 and a cup of rice is P20. Food is moderate to very spicy. Make sure to have water to drink nearby if your spice tolerance is low.

Good food,spacious dining area. Some staff though not even familiar with the dishes they sell and don't know how to compute senior citizen discount..if you don't like spicy food too this is not the place for you..

ORDERED: 1 Carabao Meat (dry and spicy) 2 Chicken (with coco fibers,chili etc) 3 cup rice + 3 extras 2 small mineral H2O *Food are already displayed on a plate in a glass cabinet. *Requested to reheat food (they do have microwave). TOTAL BILL P500+ We are the only customer at this rime (5pm). My kid did not like any of the food. But my friend liked the food. Not for budget/cheap explorers. Well, not a budget friendly food place.

Food was a bit bland in taste but spicy. Ordered Chicken payparan, rendang and fish. Got free turmeric soup and a smallquantity of spicy palpa.Will not be going back. But its halal food restaurant.

Near to Masjid

A popular eatery for Maranao-style, halal food in Muslimtown in Quiapo. Their rendang is popular, though a bit salty. And the balbacua may not be the ox/cow skin strips you expect if you happen to have tried the version from Davao or Cagayan de Oro region - more like bulalo in a turmeric-based soup, and is made from carabao meat. It's spicy, too. And I mean, really, spice. And they're good.
