How Asian American-Owned Restaurants Are Reviving Sacramento’s Historic Japantown | Eater SF
"The space that now houses Southside Super was once June’s Cafe, a storied 18-seat Japanese American diner run by Dennis O’Sullivan and his wife Junko (“June”), a small, beloved mom-and-pop operation that impressed Phuong Tran and influenced her desire to occupy the spot." - Lauren Saria
Absolutely fabulous! Cute, little spot. I had an Apple caramel iced latte and the avocado toast. The latte was perfect. Not too sweet. The avocado was as fresh as could be. The tomatoes may have been farm fresh. They tasted like they were pulled right off the vine. Service was fantastic. The girl up front was friendly and made me feel welcome. I highly recommend checking them out!!!

We went in for a quick bite for breakfast. Not too many tables, but it's a small place overall so we got our food to go, as it seemed pretty popular at that time. Staff was super friendly and accommodating!

Everything I’ve tried has been so good! Slowly making my way through the menu, but that Dutch baby is amazing!! Would go everyday if I could.

Have been searching for a decent breakfast in the area and this is so far my favorite can’t wait to try more food from here. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Great addition to Newmarket! June’s makes good use of its limited space, feeling bright and open when you walk in with ample seating. Friendly faces greet everyone as the walk in and are happy to answer any questions and I was very pleasantly surprised by the large size of the breakfast sandwich I ordered! $12 doesn’t go too far these days but the Ironworks filled me up plenty.

This place is so good. The staff are all next-level kind, attentive, and accommodating. The food is excellent, too. I’m new to town and this place has quickly established itself as my favorite place to eat.
The proportions match the price pretty well and whoever’s making the coffee back there is killing it.
Parking is challenging but that’s hardly their fault.

The food here was great; refreshing to go to a place that makes their own food instead of opening frozen bags from Sysco/US Foods. Biscuit was outstanding, made their own hollandaise, perfect poached eggs, very clean, great service - I rarely give restaurants a 5.0, but June's earned it.

SO thrilled this cafe has come to Newmarket! Breakfast sandwiches were phenomenal. Can’t beat the donuts. Delicious coffee.
Staff is super friendly.

Yelp
Excellent coffee drinks (I got a cortado).
Breakfasts are delicious, made fresh with local ingredients.
Horseshoe Cafe has a worthy successor!

Yelp
Junes has delicious and healthy options for breakfast and lunch. Good coffee as well. It's a little small but, that can be nice thing. I would recommend this place.

Yelp
I was happy to make my first visit to June's and beat the rush early on a Saturday. I ordered two breakfast sandwiches to go. The sitting area is cozy and I appreciated that there was a bench for those waiting for orders. Service was friendly and quick. The biscuits of the breakfast sandwiches were really the star- grilled on a griddle and fluffy as ever. We'll be back.

Yelp
I love Lil's and Stella's so I was absolutely giddy to see that their team moved into the location previously occupied by another one of my favorite places (horseshoe cafe). June's has only been open a few days and already appears as if it's been a longstanding Newmarket staple. The town needed this place. The menu is great, coffee is great, food is great. Can't go wrong. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Yelp
Even if you make great food, if your staff sucks the experience is junk. June's Cafe manages to have both GREAT food and GREAT staff. I've been on the planet over half a century and have experienced a lot of dining out. This little nook in Newmarket is a gem.

Yelp
This is not the Stella's crew anymore. I've been going there 2 times per week. One morning they were out of expresso. Another time their expresso machine was acting up.
Some barista's don't seem to be able to make an Americano ? I haven't tried the food but seems like it needs more intense manager to make it too Stella and Lil's quality.

Yelp
Clean, tasteful minimalist design, great menu with vegan, veg and gluten free choices! Counter ordering with table delivery. A great addition to Newmarket!

Yelp
Order at the counter, a few tables (only one for parties larger than 2 people). Great sandwich (excellent bread and fresh ingredients), very good dutch baby. Unfortunately they don't have the full crullers from Lil's, only "bite size" cruller balls, but they are still very good. Would happily go back!
