My recent visit to Juneshine in Santa Monica left me with mixed feelings. The ambiance of the place was undeniably appealing, and its earthy tones, wood, wicker, and woven textures created a pleasant, laid-back atmosphere, fitting perfectly with the Santa Monica vibe.
However, the charm of the venue didn't quite compensate for the shortcomings in service and the overall experience. The primary offering of Juneshine, their hard kombucha, while clean and refreshing with a variety of interesting flavors like Blood Orange Mint and Chili Mango, didn't present anything particularly novel or exclusive to the location. Essentially, it was the same Juneshine you could find at Whole Foods, but at a slightly higher price point.
Adding to the disappointment was the service. On my visit, my order was forgotten not once, but twice, because the employees were too occupied gossiping - lmao. This lapse in service seemed out of place in an establishment that otherwise had a laid-back and welcoming vibe.
While Juneshine's commitment to sustainability is commendable, and its products are organic and gluten-free, the overall experience felt a bit underwhelming, considering the hype around the brand. The food options, albeit limited, were satisfactory but didn't stand out as particularly memorable.
Juneshine is a decent spot for those looking to enjoy hard kombucha in a pleasant setting, but don't expect anything beyond the ordinary in terms of drink uniqueness or culinary offerings. It's worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for a relaxed place to unwind, but it might not live up to the expectations of those seeking a more distinctive or upscale experience.
