Absolutely love this katsu spot--it's a gem, especially since there's nothing quite like it in the area. What I appreciate most is that, even though they're one of the only places around doing this, they don't just rely on that--the quality is genuinely excellent.
We tried their katsu sets on our first visit (no sushi this time), and they were so good. You can fully customize your set--choose your meat, cut, and sides like rice or noodles. I loved that you could upgrade to curry rice, soba, or udon too. Portion sizes are solid, and while it's not cheap ($25-$30 per set), the food definitely feels worth it. The katsu was super tender, and both the classic and cheese versions were great. I'd probably stick with the original next time, but the cheese was a fun try.
We also ordered the chicken karaage, but sadly that one didn't hit for us--felt a bit dry and not as flavorful as expected. Might've just been an off day, but we'd skip it next time.
There's minimal seating, so be prepared for a possible wait. Service was friendly but busy, which is understandable given the crowd. They do offer takeout, but honestly, katsu is just better fresh and crisp in-house.
All in all, a great spot. Delicious, customizable katsu sets that we'll definitely be back for--just maybe sharing one next time with an app!
