The owners are very polite and welcoming. Even if you purchase food from the fridge, they will heat it up for you and provide rice and side dishes so you can sit down and enjoy your meal. It’s a very charming and cozy shop that reminds me of Kim’s Convenience.

Google
I’m not Korean, but my first try of kimbap was so delicious that I’ve been looking for a good one ever since. A few Korean friends recommended Jungwon Market—and it has become my go-to spot for kimbap ever since. Their kimbap is made fresh after each order, so I recommend calling ahead. I’ve tried all four flavors—vegetarian, spam, bulgogi, and tuna. Surprisingly, spam is my favorite, even though I don’t usually eat spam. This is the only dish where I gladly make an exception! Each roll is packed with well-balanced, flavorful layers. Their homemade kimchi and soups are just as impressive. I usually don’t go for spicy food, but theirs are so fresh and tasty that I truly enjoy them. And to top it all off, the owners are always very nice and friendly. A true local gem!

Amazing quality. I call ahead and order 10-12 rolls of their amazing Kimbap for my “meal prep” on busy weeks. Keeps well in the fridge. Great quality always fresh and doesn’t feel heavy at all. Perfect for a work day lunch. The store has cool snacks also. Owners are very kind.

Went in for first time today. Friendly atmosphere I bought the fresh kimchi the best I have had in Michigan by far. Actually it’s best I’ve had since leaving Hawaii. I highly recommend it and looking forward to trying other products.

This place is a gem! Great homemade food and great service all around. Me and my boyfriend came and got the bulgogi kimbap and tteokboki, both were amazing. We were lucky to get some samples of their Japchae and beef pot stickers and I will definitely be back to order those as they were both so delicious !

When I travel, my husband went to Jungwon and bought side dishes to eat. He is picky but likes Jungwon food. He especially liked kimbap and the jeons made every Sunday.

Google
Best kimbap in the world, everyone is so nice when I came here. They also sell so many good snacks and homemade items.

Google
My wife and I like trying new food. We heard about this store on a food page. The owners made us at least 4 items fresh to try. We have gone back every week since, and will probably continue to. The kimchi/kimbap/etc. Is the best we've ever had.

Yelp
You know how everyone says the hole in the wall places are the best? Well, Jungwon is definitely in that category. I found them because I was looking specifically for a place that sold homemade kimbap. Turns out they make theirs to order and have options that include, original, bulgogi, spam, and tuna. When I visited them first in February 2025, the original and spam run ~$4 and the bulgogi and spam run ~$6.50. And they're all delicious, with my preference being the bulgogi and spam. Hard to find a place that will cook up bulgogi and put it in your kimbap still hot. After getting to know the owner's brother-in-law who has run the front the times I've been, I learned they also make fresh each week staples like kimchi, kimchi stews, soups, all forms of banchan favorites like stir fried fish cake and bean sprouts (both of which are delicious, especially over rice). There are also dumplings galore. It's a small location, with a couple of dine-in tables (if you need or want) with no flashy advertising outside and in a strip mall that you'll miss if you blink while driving by. But it's totally worth a stop in to see what they have and pick up some quick snacks. Yeah, you could go to HMart, but go here. At least once.

Yelp
Really great food. Love the cucumber kimchi and the pickled radish from the fridge. I have to get 2 packs of each so my wife and I can each have our fill. I usually pick up 4 rolls of Kimbap, (2 spam and 2 regular), a half order of dumplings, japchae (noodles) and soy sauce potatoes and we're stuffed with enough for me to eat a late night snack. I enjoy picking some random snacks for the kids and a unique ramen flavor for myself (Mac and cheese???). Nice drink selection and grocery selection is nice too. Try the kimchi flavored spam and furikake seasoning! Kewpie mayo is always good too. I've also eaten inside a few times and the service is very friendly and everything is clean. If you go early in the weekend, they have a Special menu with some spicy fried wings and other specialties they don't serve during the week. I had a giant lunch with 2 of my friends and we were amazed at how affordable it was even after drinks (less than $50!). My only complaint is that it's not closer to me.

Yelp
This grocery store is great! It's super small but extremely clean and organized. Their service is amazing, the gentlemen immediately greeted me and told me a little about what they sell. Then I saw the table full of fresh dduk, japchae, kimbop and mandu- Awesome!! They let me try to (beef) mandu, wow, it's delicious (& I've eaten many types). It was a little spicy but that is always good with me. They have two tables you can sit and eat at if you want. The regular kimbop (veggies with egg) is $4 and the bulgogi kimbop is $6. They also have tteokboki which I didn't try (but need to!). They have premade soups, kimchi (5000 year kimchi, mom's favorite kimchi) and some hard to find (jalapeño pickle) banchan also.

Yelp
This is a small mom and pop Korean grocery store with a kitchen in the back serving up cheap, authentic, Korean food including kimbap, dumplings, jap chae, tteokbokki and more! They also had traditional Korean desserts including a variety of rice cakes that were premade. We were greeted by a very friendly, older Caucasian male who was at the front of the store running the register. He was very helpful in explaining the menu items available. There were several Korean Ajummas in the back kitchen making the food. We ordered the original kimbap ($4), bulgogi kimbap ($6), and half order of kimchi and japchae (I think) mandu ($10). We were also given a free sample of the jap chae and chicken. They also have a variety of kimchi and ban chan (side dishes) available in their refrigerator section that I will have to try next time. Everyone was so friendly. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Don't let this small little store scare you away, the food is incredible! Plus the staff is so helpful with everything we ordered! You can take out or eat in, lots of great options and the prices??? So affordable! Highly recommend checking out the fridges full of kimchi and other fun Korean dishes! We had the tteokbokki and kimbop, both were 10/10!

Yelp
I'm so happy to have come to this store! Everything I have tried is so good! The Vienna sausage with peppers and onions was the biggest surprise for me. My mom used to make this and I never knew that other folks would make this. The kimchi also reminds me of my mom's homemade food. The owners greeted me at the door and helped make selections. The collection of banchan is amazing. I wish I had more room in my fridge! I could easily spend all my money there. I can't wait to go back and try their dumplings (which I was told they will cook for you in the store if you want to eat it right away). The inside was very clean and well lit.

Yelp
Great made to order kimbap, very fresh. Nice owners. I hope to stop back for their kimchi and beef dumplings soon.

Yelp
Love this place. Tastiest cooked foods with the freshest ingredients and the nicest owners. They have an incredible selection. Go check it out!

Yelp
The best! Cute little store w/ the kindest workers ever. Kimbap was incredible & the prices are unbeatable. A (slightly) hidden gem!

Yelp
I'm of Korean heritage and I was having a Baek Il or 100 Day party for my daughters. I was having a hard time finding someone who would do the traditional cake for this kind of celebration. The staff here were very helpful and the cake was very reasonably priced. It was delicious too! I couldn't get a picture before it was eaten up! We will definitely be back for their first birthday party! The also tried some of their banchan and I would highly recommend their japchae and fish cakes. We also got to try some of their filled rice cakes and they were amazing too! I just wish that they were closer to us so I could go more often

Yelp
Jungwon used to be a perfect typical small Korean grocery store with homemade Korean sides and various cuisine. I just learned the store is under new ownership. Now, the store has maintained the 5 star worthy sides and various cuisine, but has also given the store a face lift. The store looks great, the selections is amazing and the kimbap and kimchi are fantastic.

Yelp
Very unwelcoming and unfriendly. Disappointing because I was eager to find a mom and pop Korean store for homemade kimbap and banchan. I entered the store and the older man who works there looked at me like I was a criminal. No smiling or hello. Just staring at me and I got the message that he was probably thinking why the hell was I in his store. The woman came out and greeted me and asked me if there was anything she could help me with. She was fine but it also felt as if there was some confusion as to why I was in the store. The store itself is very small. There are some bootleg DVDs by the entrance and banchan in the fridge. Maybe I was there too early in the morning but there wasn't any freshly made banchan or kimbap on the table. I was uncomfortable during the short time I was there. I felt like I was being watched. I decided not to buy anything and left. I won't be returning.

Yelp
Friendly service. I didn't see what I wanted, they went in the back and unpacked and prepared it as I requested

Yelp
I found this market on Yelp and decided to give it a try on my way home today. Mrs. Park greeted me in English, she wasn't sure if I was Korean or not. We chatted for a while I shopped around and while I checked out. It's a small store in an older shopping center. Room for two aisles of Korean grocery items. Down the first aisle after walking into the afire was a red lined table with food items made today. There were other containers inside the 2 fridges nearby. The kimchi had been made the day before. I picked up some spicy parille leaves, kimchi, spicy cucumber pickled kimchi, spicy garlic stems, japchae, sweet chili wings, egg washed fried pollock, spicy bean sprouts, spicy fish cake, kimbap, black beans and a packet of seasoned seaweed. The japchae has small pieces of bulgogi in it, was good. The kimbap was as good as expected. I also enjoyed the pickled cucumber and spicy bean sprouts. The garlic stems were really good. The parille leaves are decent, but rather pungent. The kimchi is okay, still prefer it at Kagopa. The black beans and pollock were not my favorite. The kimchi needs to be cut down to bite size pieces, it's left in long pieces. My husband loved the taste of the sweet chili wings and said it would be out even better with more heat or spice to it, he said it was more sweet and wasn't spicy. He also devoured and enjoyed the kimbap and all of the banchans. I always prefer to shop at these small mom and pop shops.

Yelp
Three stars is not a bad thing! I'm a fan. This is a very small, but specialized mart pretty much run by one lady. We come here for all kinds of Korean flavors to make dishes from oils, to pepper flakes. It's pretty much a tiny grocery store. The real primary reason for visits often is some of the house made kimchi! Cucumber version sells out quick, but she has a few other varieties. I always buy from in the fridge, as some things that I see sitting out just shouldn't be out IMO. Could do with a good cleaning. Being that I come here for pretty much one thing 95% of the time, hard to rate overall. Visa / Mastercard is accepted.

Yelp
I love going here for freshly made banchan and rice cakes! They also have a big selection of Korean snacks and drinks. The owner is very friendly and very helpful. Has a very local feel to it and is my go-to mart for groceries

Yelp
Great quality and value of Banchan !!! Delicious authentic Korean chicken wings and Kimbab.

Suzan C.

Yelp
Nice older lady, makes some rather incredibly nice banchan and other food items. Great kimchee, dried spicy fish, etc etc. Totally authentic and tasty. Besides her home cooking/pickling, it is sort of a grocery store. I took one star off because the rest of the store is half empty, very limited selection and bare shelves. But definitely go for the authentic and tasty food selections.

Yelp
This store is the closest you'll ever get to Korea without actually being in Korea. Everything you see laying out in the middle table and refrigerators next door are all made fresh by the nicest lady in the world. Every type of Kimchi is fresh and homemade, and she has marinated meats in the fridge for you to take home and easily grill! Also a cool little tip is if you're ever craving a Korean dish/soup, a special type of Kimchi, Korean Rice Cakes, don't be afraid to ask and she will be able to offer whether or not she will make it for you!! So if you are craving authentic Korean food make sure to stop by pick up a couple of side dishes you will not be disappointed. The kimbap (korean sushi roll) is also very popular here and sells out pretty fast so make sure you call ahead or go in early to get a fresh roll. Other than that, the grocery store in general is very small but filled with most things you would look for in a Korean grocery store. The parking lot is very easy to navigate and usually has open spots so make sure to drop by to get a taste of Korea if you are in the area!!

Yelp
Very good homemade Korean dishes that are sold in this small store. The Korean chicken wings are amazing. Not too many items available as the store is small, but the niche for this location is the homemade kimchi and other food items made and sold here.

Bob S.

Yelp
This Korean store is absolutely great! Most of what we need is available and the Owner is very good with running the business and truly appreciates her customers. I'm not very fond of the big stores with large crowds and long lines to wait in especially during cold and flu season. Give this store a try, I have no doubt you will be one of their valued repeat customers.
