Yelp
I found this market on Yelp and decided to give it a try on my way home today.
Mrs. Park greeted me in English, she wasn't sure if I was Korean or not. We chatted for a while I shopped around and while I checked out.
It's a small store in an older shopping center.
Room for two aisles of Korean grocery items.
Down the first aisle after walking into the afire was a red lined table with food items made today. There were other containers inside the 2 fridges nearby.
The kimchi had been made the day before.
I picked up some spicy parille leaves, kimchi, spicy cucumber pickled kimchi, spicy garlic stems, japchae, sweet chili wings, egg washed fried pollock, spicy bean sprouts, spicy fish cake, kimbap, black beans and a packet of seasoned seaweed.
The japchae has small pieces of bulgogi in it, was good. The kimbap was as good as expected. I also enjoyed the pickled cucumber and spicy bean sprouts. The garlic stems were really good. The parille leaves are decent, but rather pungent. The kimchi is okay, still prefer it at Kagopa. The black beans and pollock were not my favorite.
The kimchi needs to be cut down to bite size pieces, it's left in long pieces.
My husband loved the taste of the sweet chili wings and said it would be out even better with more heat or spice to it, he said it was more sweet and wasn't spicy. He also devoured and enjoyed the kimbap and all of the banchans.
I always prefer to shop at these small mom and pop shops.
