"Whenever we’re on the brink of losing our sh!t, caffeine, cocktails, or a really great meal have always been a leading light out of middle hell. So, allow us to put you on to Juniper Cafe, a Southern U.S./Pan-Asian cafe at the Westside Village that welcomes you, as you are, and provides you the perfect trifecta to help soothe whatever frustration is currently bringing you to tears: unrequited love, the gas pump, or an insufferably draining “baby and me” swim class at the neighboring AquaTots. You could head inside to the blue-walled main room, where the small white tables give date night vibes. But we’re good on the patio with some drinks and noodles. Nearly everyone sits in this ultra casual, screened-in sunroom, including parents dragging in their damp kids straight from swim class. There’s a walk-up service window to order drinks and pastries if you’re in a rush, but there are plenty of teal, perforated back patio chairs in the sunroom when you just need to chill.  It all feels like a regular cafe—everything here suggests a no-frills meal. But when a plate of beautifully crisped fried chicken and a fragrant bowl of lemongrass and coconut broth mussels come to the table, you’ll stand corrected. (Or possibly stand to applaud the flavors. Do you.) A taste of the food, which comes from the culinary minds behind , may make you feel underdressed for the occasion. But you’re not.  Find your warm hug with a full coffee menu of all the usuals. We especially like the milky Vietnamese coffee, on ice. If you’re feeling a bit more spirited, add a Japanese beer or Korean makgeolli to the table. And while all the imported drinks get rightful attention here, you shouldn’t overlook Juniper’s housemade drinks—including mildly-sweetened sodas in fun flavors like kumquat, passion fruit, and calamansi, which they make and bottle every Monday—or their creative cocktails, which feature some of those imported spirits.  Juniper is one of our favorite places to lose ourselves in a meal, to try out a few different beverages, and to temporarily forget about the cruel outside world, which would normally force us to change out of our workout clothes to eat and drink things this good.  " - Nina Reeder

Google
Open space with tables and chairs. We ate inside due to a quick shower moving through. The service was great. I had the turkey wrap, black bean with fire-roasted tomato soup along with their Matcha lemonade. My wife had an iced coffee with a cinnamon bun. Very fresh and delicious. Reasonably priced and we parked behind the restaurant. We will keep this on our list when visiting St Augustine.

Google
This market was super cool. A nice change from the big chains. You can tell it's run with care and passion. I got the smashed banana toast and 2 scrambled eggs. The toast was delicious and full of flavor. They had a cool little marketplace with local products as well as art.

Google
This is such a cute little café. We had breakfast before the beach. I had the breakfast pita and it was excellent! The eggs were cooked perfectly, not overcooked like a lot of places. Avery was so sweet and helped me find a substitute for the bacon in my pita. We even got some cute little drinks to take to the beach! Highly recommended this place.

Google
Awesome place. The food was great. Highly recommend. I had the smashed banana toast and it was smashing. My gf the oatmeal which was indeed yummy. Overall great place.

Google
This is a great little cafe to pop in and get a cup of coffee or a sandwich. Their breakfast burrito is very filling. I also enjoyed their Vietnamese Iced Coffee drink. There is a small parking lot in the back if street parking is hard to find. For my sensory friends the place can be a bit loud if it is crowded due to all the hard surfaces for sound to bounce around.

Google
Love love love!! Our group was staying within walking distance and had Juniper for breakfast 2 out of 3 mornings we were there. Their blueberry muffins are delicious. Their bacon is not greasy and their eggs are perfect. One thing to point out is how GREAT their bread is; the flavor is amazing and the texture is great. I really like their unsweetened tea and would definitely recommend and revisit in the future!

Google
This is gonna be a tough one. It’s hard to judge because the food is good, but management really needs some work. You order at the register and then wait for a table, but there’s only a few tables in the restaurant, a lot of empty space as you can see in the picture and nowhere to sit. Let’s start with the food. I ordered a breakfast pita, that comes with scrambled eggs, avocado, and Sriracha sauce. The eggs were done really well, but the Sriracha and the avocado were nowhere to be found. When I asked the server, she said that she put them in there, so she knows it’s in there. Well, I did find the Sriracha and the avocado tucked all the way at the end of the pita nowhere near the rest of the sandwich. We asked for napkins, there were no napkins anywhere. But the worst part is the attitude of the server, instead of trying to find a solution, her answer was “well I don’t know”. The croissant breakfast sandwich was very tasty, but a very small portion. This place has potential, but needs better management.

Google
Juniper Market is probably my favorite cafe in St Augustine. I love the vibe, the owner and staff are welcoming and friendly. Service is fantastic and of course the most important thing, THE FOOD! Which is always fresh and delicious. My favorite is the Breakfast pita and the chicken salad. Oh and did I mention the cookies....So good!

Gabby S.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this shop! The sandwiches are fresh and tasty and the chai tea was amazing! The service was quick and the cashier was friendly. The space was a bit short of seating and noisy, but overall the ambiance was nice. The music was a bit loud and there's only 2 outlets, so I would not recommend this for a study spot. But for a quick bite or meet up, this is a cute shop!

Yelp
Finally came in, I was so excited to try it. After ordering I wasn't fully convinced the pictures on the website were pretty, and the portions decent. Now the reality of the food was small and prices were expensive. The breakfast sandwhich was $9 and it was super small. My turkey special was a fail; the croissant shrunk the cheese square could wrap around it at least 2 x then my bean soup I was thinking it would be creamy tomato soup with black beans, but instead it tasted like canned beans dumped to boil and corner chunks of tomato thrown in it, and nothing else. Not worth $13. My total was $46 for 4 items !! That were not even gourmet.... how did this happen??? 1) mini breakfast sandwhich 2) turkey special 3) small hot chocolate 4) canned Róse Way too expensive! & service was ok the staff ringing us up were just blah not friendly, not too helpful. Inside is nice and spacious well lit and they had 2 highchairs available. One which was filthy, luckily I had my wipes with me.... In a nutshell I tried it wasn't impressed, prices seemed high for quantity of food. I can guarantee I will not be back.

Megan J.

Yelp
Great little spot in St.Augustine. The Matcha was good and the service was quick & kind.

Ray H.

Yelp
Great coffee, location and muffins. The blueberry muffin was legit and bread pudding muffin was...oh mama. Get it. I've been to at Augustine many a times and have missed out every time but today it seems as this was my first time. Will be back. Grab a coffee before you assault downtown trolley actions or whatever you do. Local place ran by local people.

Yelp
We were looking for a local small business breakfast place, and Juniper Market didn't disappoint in that area. It's a small place with about 7 tables inside and four 2-toppers out front. I really wanted to give it a 5 star rating, but several things did not go well. As you walk in you order your food at the counter. The girl at the counter seemed frazzled, and offered a less than pleasant greeting. Ok, breakfast crowd was jumping. But jeez, a smile goes a long way. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with the cheddar scallion biscuit and a lavender macchiato. My daughter ordered the breakfast burrito and a Vietnamese iced coffee. My sandwich was delicious, but for $8.50??? It was no bigger than my hand and didn't even come with a small bowl of fruit. My $4.25 macchiato was served in an espresso cup! And it was sour. My daughter's breakfast burrito was as big as her tiny hand and when she was 3/4 through it she found a light brown short hair in it! (She has medium length black hair). They refunded us our money for the burrito and made another one (hence 3, not 2 stars), and offered an insincere apology. I could forgive a lot of that, but not the unfriendly service. Kindness goes a long way, and they were in short supply there. Good breakfast sandwich, though.

Khyla L.

Yelp
I ordered the havarti and fig grilled cheese sandwich and it was generously cheesy and figgy! I definitely recommend. The shop has a modern earthy/boho aesthetic. The person at the register was very kind and helpful!

Abbey M.

Yelp
Cute cafe with nice indoor and outdoor seating. It was fairly busy for a Friday morning. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. They recommended the egg and cheese bagel with avocado and it was great. The matcha latte was okay, tasted mostly like milk. I also had a hot latte to go which was much better.

Sydney K.

Yelp
The iced chai was watered down and didn't have much flavor at all, and they didn't have any pumpkin syrup yet either :( However, the decor & whole vibe is super cute! Would probably go back, but just wouldn't get the chai :( I studied on the patio for a few hours, and it was nice...the street it's on was busy, but they also have a good indoor space to work at as well!

Robert A.

Yelp
Amazing food and hands down the best coffee in all of St. Augustine. They have outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating. They have a variety of food options available including different kinds of toasts, and breakfast sandwiches and wraps. I love the fact that they give you a coffee mug that is bigger than a single fist and filling it to the top is like two full size regular coffees. This means you get to enjoy more time talking with family and friends versus having to get up to get more coffee. The customer service is outstanding, and they really make their food with quality and love. We will be back when we come back to St. Augustine, FL for vacation. Restaurant patrons are also very kind and easy to talk to. Don't be surprised if a stranger strikes up a conversation with you about anything. It's fun when this happens because you get to learn about someone new and their life.

Miriah R.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. Do yourself a favor and if you're looking for breakfast or lunch, drive uptown and go here! The food was amazing. The staff were so friendly and sweet. The vibe is super chill and comfortable. My husband and I couldn't be happier thag we stopped here before leaving at Augustine, it was the best meal we had all weekend (and the prices are not nearly as expensive as downtown!)

Kelly B.

Yelp
The quiche is alway as great despite there being one type on the menu It is very creamy inside and fluffy due to cream. Anyone would be happy with this quiche slice. My guest whom I brought loved it. I always get the chai tea hot and it is sooooo delish! It is a very large serving of tea. The foam is perfect. Th milk options are milk, oat milk and chocolate almond. The side salad that comes with it is baby greens with vinaigrette I love coming here as the food comes fast and the tea is always perfect. This is a very popular place for visitors and I am a local and love it. My other friend got the chicken salad with artisan bread. Very crusty and hard to eat the crust she said but the inside had so may air holes she thought it was delish. Do not get extra Mayo not needed.

Jimbob J.

Yelp
I would not recommend going here. The food was bland, the order was wrong, the price was ridiculously high for what we ordered, and if you want anything other than coffee or beer, you're out of luck. Really disappointing experience for a town like St Augustine.

Mechelle C.

Yelp
If you want a little breakfast and coffee or juice, I highly suggest this place! Located at 48 San Marco Ave., parking is on the street. 6 Four top tables, 5 bar seats and take out is available. I had the quiche. It was light and fluffy with most of the flavor coming from the goat cheese. Absolutely divine. I also ordered the Americano (2shots espresso) to wake me up. Topped it off with a thick slice of banana bread, which was delicious! They also offer juices, pastries, honey for sale and bags of coffee, wine by the bottles and cans of tea. Cute place:)

Lisa E.

Yelp
Super tasty food and coffee. Cute little place. The breakfast sandwich on the cheddar biscuit was delicious!!

Oksana D.

Yelp
Thank you Juniper Cafe for never disappointing. Your coffee is so good every time. The milk, espresso, temperature, it all matters. So good and quality taste. Also just one thing we absolutely get every time is the bread pudding. The best pastry I've ever tried. HIGHLY recommend this place.

J P.

Yelp
Excellent service. Soup of the day lentil vegetable. So flavorful. Large portion. Sweet potato pita sandwich. Fresh. Satisfying.

Trisha B.

Yelp
This place has awful service. they didn't fulfill the order properly. The salad were split in tiny little boxes when we ordered a full salad and the server acted extremely annoyed by simply asking for utensils for the salads. Wow. Would not come back if you paid me

Joe F.

Yelp
Special cafe in uptown St Augustine. We stayed at the Hilton Garden near Fountains of Wayne (that's my Jersey coming out). Ok...it's the Fountain of Youth. Anyway, cute cafe with a friendly vibe, delicious coffee, and a thoughtful menu. I had the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a Cheddar Scallion Biscuit. Wife had the Avocado Toast. Both delicious. Cappuccino with a perfect froth. Decaf Americano for Pattie. Hey, if you're looking to load up, go to ihop. If you're looking for a cute cafe, with great coffee, and a "right sized" breakfast, certainly come here and be very happy. The cute and friendly staff endured my questions about the beans, when they could have pointed me to the rack where they sold them. Sweet. Go there.

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
This was just next door to our hotel so I ran down for a coffee while my husband was getting ready and it was a great little shop. The coffee is superb and absolutely a fresh roast. The service was quick and friendly and they have a great atmosphere. Industrial mixed with a farmhouse style and plenty of room to space out. I highly recommend it if you're in the area!

Austin N.

Yelp
I'm a local who comes here to work remotely often, and the food and coffee never disappoint. Really cool and unique drinks in their fridge too. Service has always been great too.

Rich H.

Yelp
Grabbing a quick bite to eat for breakfast before heading back to Jax. This is Juniper Market located at 48 San Marco Ave in St Augustine (no geotag available). A hip little coffee shop featuring hand-crafted coffees and scratch-made breakfast basics. We got a thick slice of banana bread, quiche made with roasted tomatoes, scallions, and goat cheese, and a BEC breakfast burrito. All were delicious and a great quick breakfast stop.

John L.

Yelp
Pretty good breakfast spot. I had a biscuit sandwich. I was a bit worried because they have cheddar cheese and scallion biscuit. I'm normally not a fan of scallions. But this biscuit sandwich was delicious.

Heather B.

Yelp
The goji berry lemonade was just like it was described--not too sweet with a bit of tartness.   I appreciated the assistance in finding that drink. He gave a good explanation.  The cafe is spacious and airy.

Black Bear C.

Yelp
What a gem! We walked here every morning for gluten free avo toast and good coffee while on our vacation. Love the vibe and local feel.

Rep D.

Yelp
Amazing coffee shop and cafe! Casual counter service in a modern atmosphere. They serve great coffee, breakfast and lunch. Homemade black bean soup was fantastic. Canned beer, wine and kombucha. Friendly service as well. Cannot wait to come back!

Kalie A.

Yelp
We're local to the area and wanted to try something new. When we walked in, the back 1/2 of the restaurant (closest to the bathrooms) smelled like sewage. We wanted to give it a chance because it seemed to have decent reviews. We ordered and we're overcharged for our burrito and quiche. Our waters had floating green and black particles in them. Our daughters high chair had old food all over it. My quiche came out cold and tasteless. My husbands burrito was literally a few scrambled eggs with cheese - we ordered it with hot sauce and there was none on it. Overall the quality of the food was beyond disappointing and the cleanliness was absolutely disgusting. I would NOT waste your time going to this establishment. It was a 2/10 for us.

Monica C.

Yelp
The best avocado toast, homemade muffins and good coffee! A must in Saint Augustine, fantastic area to walk around!

Andrew E.

Yelp
Visited this place daily as it was walking distance from our Airbnb for a wedding last weekend. Friendly service, a killer breakfast burrito, and some good coffee really helped make this place a memorable part of the trip. If I'm ever back in St. Augustine this place will be first on my list to visit!

Abbey M.

Yelp
My mom and I were in St Augustine just enjoying a Saturday girls day out today. We were both starving so I opened my trusty Yelp app and Juniper came up when I typed into sandwiches and salads. The menu looked fabulous so we knew we must try it! We parked on the street walked up and immediately I could see we would love it! They had a fountain outside along with tables and umbrellas. We walked up the steps and the inside is gorgeous, bright, white, clean, chic and welcoming! They have a wall full of wines to purchase, incense, soaps, hats! They also have a photographer/artist Jenna Alexander who resides within the building. Her art work can be seen from the large glass windows and hung around the establishment. The menu sports soups, salads, sandwiches, wine, coffee and tea. All of the sandwiches are served with chips or carrots and hummus. We ordered the chicken salad sandwich and the pimento with bacon grilled cheese, both were incredibly delicious! We also got a glass of wine and the mint tea, yummy as could be! The table options are all great! The seating areas include some by the window, bar stools overlooking San Marco Ave for people watching, outdoor seating in the front and back (so pet friendly). I honestly can't say enough great things about this place! I loved it up one side and down the other! Can't wait to go back!!

Sarah C.

Yelp
Loved the havarti & fig grilled cheese with a side salad! Highly recommend for a yummy lunch. Everything was so fresh and great quality. Loved the vibe inside, friendly service, and the location! Will be back again soon to try the iced coffee and breakfast!

Beth M.

Yelp
Grits were un-seasoned bacon was literally holding this dish up. Not impressed at all.

Beth S.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for breakfast and we loved our meal! The staff was friendly, my husband said his mocha was perfectly made (which never happens anywhere else), and our food was delicious! I ordered the overnight oats (yum!) and I highly recommend them! We shared a bowl of the pimento cheese grits and they were also equally as good. My husband got the egg and cheese burrito and said he could have used a little more cheese but he likes his cheese. We will definitely be back!!!

Jason M.

Yelp
Walked into a nice atmosphere. Seems like a lot of students, and locals come here. The restaurant serves simple breakfast, and lunch items, and also serves a variety of coffee and drinks. I liked the fact that if you decide to eat in, they give you a nice coffee mug to drink your fill. They have the coffee set out in the dining room so you can help yourself. I had the Pimento Cheese Grits, which came with cut up bacon, scrambled eggs, on top of the grits. Being a grits fan, I ate it up. It was really good! I definitely recommend this small cafe if you're in the area. It's quaint, the staff is super friendly, and the food and coffee were good.

Cynthia W.

Yelp
Looking for ultra-casual beautiful outdoor seating? Go here. It's right on San Marco in a big old house. Light, clean, and refreshing atmosphere inside and out. I'm not sure how more people don't know about this place. The food offerings are simple and delicious. I usually opt for the breakfast burrito or egg sandwich on cheddar biscuit. I don't eat pork but my friend got the grits bowl with eggs and bacon and she was raving over it. I always get the Magic Coffee, an iced spiced treat. Coffee ice cubes delight me! I will have to take good photos next time. I was ravenous. The staff is a joy. Sweet, friendly, accommodating. I always love seeing Cindy when I come in. They sell products made by locals, like Bee Hill Farms and Small Batch Naturals. There are a few parking spots behind the building and that lot has never been full when I've come.

Katy S.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, appreciate the hipster music and good coffee. Great place to study or chat with a friend.

Nicholle S.

Yelp
Small, quick and casual locals spot surrounded by a bunch of cute shops in the San Marco district of St Augustine. The chicken salad sandwich was delicious and fresh. Carrots and ranch/hummus was a great option for the side.

Marie P.

Yelp
Regularly order the steak salad bowl with avocado, and it is always a terrific meal. I eat it too fast for photos, but give this restaurant a try.

Krista H.

Yelp
Magic coffee!!! That's all I need to say. Every stop in St. Augustine involves one. I don't know what they put in it but it's phenomenal. I need this recipe! Everything here is good but this is the star player to me. We have been coming here since they were located at the back of the store down the street. #Loyalfan

Jen S.

Yelp
The food and service were phenomenal. Their coffee is so good we had to buy some to take home!

Chelsea L.

Yelp
If you love a cheesy biscuit and runny egg, this meal is for you. I loved every bite. Also, the Vietnamese iced coffee was the perfect amount of cream and black coffee taste for me. Juniper Market has a very cute aesthetic and casual vibe and the baristas/workers were very friendly. Highly recommend this place!

Mari B.

Yelp
I went to this place because of the yelp reviews and honestly really loved the customer service, the blueberry muffins and had the Vietnamese iced coffee. I highly recommend it up, Thank you all so much for making me feel so welcome!

Aileen V.

Yelp
The place was beautiful & this place was adorable. Such a mice place to catch up with girlfriends or just have a nice little moment to yourself or do some work! However, the dood really was mediocre. My bf has the parfait and liked it but the avocado toast was just ok. Nothing fancy. Def recommend for the coffee!

Phil S.

Yelp
Love this place! I used to live in uptown on Gault. I would have loved to have Juniper around when I was going to Flagler. Excellent coffee. Maybe some of the best in town. We also got some breakfast which was delicious. I was a little skeptical of the burrito as it just came with egg and cheese. I added avocado and salsa. It was incredibly delicious! They peppered the eggs perfectly. We came back twice on our three day trip. Consistently good.

Erika O.

Yelp
I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon and avocado. It was super filling! I also got a cold brew coffee with oat milk which came with coffee ice cubes ( a huge plus! )

Elena M.

Yelp
Avocado toast was good, simple, nothing special too it. It came out warm which was nice.

Cydney L.

Yelp
Excellent coffee with coffee ice cubes!!! Delicious banana bread and great energy, I love the selection they offer and the outside seating, will definitely be coming back here

Justin L.

Yelp
Juniper Market is lovely! Half art studio/half cafe. Bright, light and modern. I get a real Chip & Johanna "FixerUpper" vibe in here. There's shiplap in the bathroom, folks! I ordered the Havarti & Fig Grilled Cheese and added bacon. It was delicious! I chose to eat on the air conditioned sun porch. It was beautiful. You're surrounded by light and real indoor potted trees. This place is a hidden gem.

Lino V.

Yelp
What a delicious and cute coffee shop. It's a couple of blocks away from the downtown St. Augustine but it's beautiful. The pastries, food and coffees were delicious and they had different ingredients from what one is used to.

Erika C.

Yelp
This is an excellent place to work on the weekdays, catch lunch or a healthy snack! The ambiance grabs and holds you in with several choices for seating in the quaint front area (outdoor & indoor). Weekends are busier, and Nights of Lights dates are busiest (mid Nov.-Jan. 31). There is also an art gallery shared with the space. Adjacent to the restaurant are several local shops worth visiting! Service is excellent, and there is free wifi. A great lunch choice!

Marissa S.

Yelp
Super cute cafe! Love it so much, very chill place to talk with friends and relax, have some snacks or food and great coffee. Parking is the only thing that stinks, but that's just downtown St Aug for ya! I got avocado toast and a pastry and it was awesome.
