Popular Public Beach right outside the downtown area. Tons of food vendors and drinks. And easy access to the beach. You do have to pay the locals for chairs and umbrellas. However, it’s was very lively and happy atmosphere. Lots to discover, a very entertaining area.

Visited Junkanoo Beach while on a cruise. We chose this beach because of how close to the ship it was and only a 15 minute walk. Not a bad beach at all but I imagine it could get very crowded. When we visited there was only two ships in port. Not sure I would want to spend an entire day here but this is a great choice if you’re short on time. Chairs were $10 a piece and there were several options for drinks and food.

My family and I decided to go to the Public Beach to take a dip in the sea and then explore the island further. We got there from the cruise ship port by boat for $7, the ride took about 7 minutes, and it took 15 minutes to get to the beach, or you can take a taxi. But when we saw the sea, we stayed until the evening because the sea was warm and wavy! It was such a miracle to dive into a wave. The kids were thrilled. They serve sellalcoholic drinks in pineapples on the beach and have snacks. The beach offers umbrellas and sun loungers, but we declined. We wanted to lie on the white sand. The beach is clean, but the access to the beach is not maintained or landscaped. It's free, so it's all overgrown with grass and there's no sidewalk. But we weren't too upset because the view of the sea and the beach were very beautiful. They offer to swim on a banana boat, ride a jet ski or fly on a parachute. I recommend it, you won't regret it.

Overcrowded tourist spot at a popular port. We Had a guy following us around reminding us that we couldn't sit in a chair without paying first. I couldn't wait to get away from there. We took a cab 6 miles down to Cable Beach which was much more relaxed and peaceful. (Photos posted are of Cable Beach).

Severely overcrowded as it’s the first beach from port with public access. These pictures were taken from a higher point of view. The access point is only available to “condo owners at margaritaville “ I was able to ask to take a tour.

Nice beack. Clear waters. Seagulls are highly aggressive - they will swarm and intimate for food. Do not eat on the beach. Otherwise wonderful.

EXTREMELY CROWDED. Beach chairs were literally arm to arm with no room for anything. In the future I would definitely try a different beach. It was not a great experience on that front. The water was extremely clear and clean though. It was neat seeing a Pirate ship though!

It has all the experience one can expect from a traditional beach. There are certain areas where you can swim which are marked by orange balls. There are guards who will be up until 5 PM after which it is recommended not to be in the waters. There are also Atlantis resting areas where you can grab a drink and sun bath.
