Yelp
A pleasant experience.
Food was good. Nothing was really extrordinary, however (except the salad which was phenomenal and perfect) . Every dish was ALMOST there. There was either something uncertain missing (Florida market fish, key lime pie - both were good but flat), or there was something too aggressive that dominated the dish (crudo was too sweet, carpaccio was too truffle-y) .
Service was solid. Our server was professional and efficient, but ... again, something, not sure what, was missing. Her timing was just a little off, her movements a little awkward, her conversation was a little forced, her responses to questions were somehow not at all helpful but not in a rude way. Manager came by to check in, and he was a bit the same. A little too stilted, felt like he was ticking a box and reading a script, but not in a rude or offensive way, just it felt ... off. Several very nice and polite folks outside with sort of the same awkwardness - like they couldn't time opening the door for me in a way that didn't require them cutting me off so they sped up, slowed down, lurched ahead, apologized - that kind of thing.
The space itself is lovely on the inside. Don't love having a very large host station right in the middle of the restaurant that created odd traffic flow, but can forgive that I suppose since the decor is gorgeous.
Prices across the board are absurdly high. Wine program is sufficient - not stellar - but markup is borderline criminal (something that really irks me, especially when menu prices are already astronomical).
To note, parking is a bear there, and just about the only option was valet. $ 16 for 3 hours then $ 15 per hour after meant for 2 cars and tip, that was another $ 72 just to park. After spending $475 for 3 people for a nice-but-not-amazing dinner, that felt like a gut punch.
