Jupiter Disco

Jupiter Disco is one of my favorites dance spaces in New York!! It’s my go to spot in bushwick. Along with a steady dose of incredible DJs, the intimate atmosphere makes in feel extremely personal, which I love. The new lighting system is incredible !! and they also serve some of the best cocktails around (my favorites are the Dead Ringer and A.M. Radio). Another awesome part of Jupiter Disco are their community-oriented, which featuring things like movie screenings and even a chess night. Check this place out when you can. Highly recommended, love!!

The staff was super friendly and jovial. However, the door person saying they're watching your phone use and will eject you if you use your phone too much seems a little weird. The music was way too loud for such a small place. The wait at the bar was probably the worst I've ever seen. It's not the bartender's fault, there are a lot of specialty cocktails on the menu that need to be crafted. The solution is to hire more bartenders. I watched many customers give up or opt out of getting a drink because they didn't want to stand at the bar for 25 minutes. They did have bananas.

I love this spot's galactic vibes! The DJs they book always add to the grooviness in there on any given night. As someone who enjoys going out but not drinking, it's nice to have a place to go to that makes really delicious, non-alcoholic cocktails. My go-to is the Mate Cooler, it's refreshing, citrusy, and the caffeine boost from the mate is much needed for all of the late night dancing.

One of the worst experiences at any establishment I’ve ever been to. Finally decided that I would do sober January. I ask the bartender for a water and she told me that there’s a McDonald’s right down the street. So disrespectful. She had a huge eagle tattoo on her chest. Absolutely unreal

Love this place!! Incredible atmosphere made that much better by a stellar bartender named Nic who made some of the best drinks we’ve had in the city so far. Will be back (and I hope Nic is working again once we’re back!)

This place is so cute. Definitely lives up to its name “Jupiter Disco”…it feels as though you’re in a bar in space (or what I would imagine that feels like). The drinks were great but a little pricey IMO. Bartenders could be a little more amicable and attentive. Overall decent spot to grab a drink, people watch, and vibe out to some groovy music!

This place can be a bit overwhelming, but the staff is so nice. I’m doing dry January and they were super kind about getting an n/a drink in my hand without making me feel any kinda way.

Nic is an incredible bar tender! I came in and said surprise me, they asked a few clarifying questions and then made me a delicious Negroni. Will return 10/10 service

Cute spot to go out and boogie. Bar serves cute drinks including non-alcoholic ones that are presented across a screen like something out of Star Trek. So good and not horribly expensive! Dance floor is an intimate vibe, where phone use is discouraged and everyone is moving. Really electric place with great sound and vibes. So glad I popped in finally and can't wait to return

Preface: I was down bad, y'all. I had the norovirus - which has been rapidly spreading in NYC - and walking pneumonia at the same time. I'm not sure how this happened because I'm always mindful (and demure ) of the places I go and religiously wash my hands when I get home. BUT after narrowly avoiding death, my friends decided to celebrate my full recovery, and life in general, by dragging me to Jupiter Disc, last night. I'm not sure what the cover was because my friend paid for tickets in advance. For a dive bar, it's quite spacious it was compared to similar spots, which are usually smaller and have you stuffed like you're inside a tin can of sardines. Don't get me wrong, it's not huge but roomie enough to get your dance on without stepping on someone else's shoes. It's also super clean and has proper air ventilation... if you're into that sort of thing. The light fixture in the middle of the ceiling... should I call it a centerpiece? is impressive as well. I've seen many LED fixtures over the years. This is amongst my favorites. Another win of Jupiter Disco: on a cold, January night they had an adequate number of bartenders. Something other places struggle with. I can only speak to the cocktail I had and it was wonderful: Professional Widow ( Tequila + Lemon + Ginger + Cardamom + Blackberry Balsamic). I had a few of those and they were all made to perfection. My friends ordered other drinks but they said everything was to their liking. The DJ - For Future's Sake: Just wanted to drop a quick additional note about the DJ, For Future's Sake. Each time I hear his sets I become more and more impressed. His ability to mix top 40 hits with obscure and niche dance and EDM tracks together is unmatched. Shoutout to him for keeping the vibes pretty epic last night.

I'd rate Jupiter Disco three and a half stars. Casual dance bar. Full bar with a few beers on draft. I had a Pilsner. Bartender was very quick and hospitable. We arrived earlier in the evening and the bar was still quiet; by the time we left, there was a bouncer and it started to fill up. I'm not an expert on dance music, but I'd say the set list was more niche.

Whether I've liked it or not, my friend group will somehow always end up at Jupiter Disco, usually as a last ditch effort to go out somewhere to dance when all other spots are closed or too packed. The music can get a little experimental and out there sometimes, which is probably why you don't see people going crazy on the dance floor. Unfortunately more energy is usually what I'm after. What I do enjoy about JD is that for a dancey bar, it's pretty laid back and easy to get into. I haven't had to worry about anyone being pushy or creepy, and there are parts of the bar where you can actually have a conversation without shouting or getting elbowed by an overzealous dancer. I think it has so much more potential to be a higher energy bar, especially considering the area and their late hours, but post 2020 many of us have come to consider a mellow after party as the norm. I'd give this place a soft 4 stars.

My friend and I came here for drinks on a Friday night. There are a couple stools at the bar and some stools and bar tables around the perimeter of the room, but the middle of the room is cleared out so people can dance. I had the Bizzy Izzy. Their happy hour is from 6 - 8pm every day, and classic cocktails are only $8 (as of March 2024) during this time. The music was super loud, even though there weren't that many people there early in the evening (we were there around 7 - 9pm).

I had no expectations coming to Jupiter Disco. Was told it was a dancey bar, which it definitely was. When we arrived it wasn't very crowded so felt a little uncomfy but literally by the time we ordered a drink it filled up quite quickly and before I knew it it was packed. They really nailed down the space theme-- loved the menu on the TVs and the drinks are poured strong. The dj that started the evening spinning was very good, wasn't a huge fan of the one after so we bounced but definitely a fun option for a night out in Bushwick if you like dancing.

Tiny bar with a dj booth. Pretty fun to check out before going somewhere else. Music was good

DJ KFeelz was playing classic house from records! I haven't seen a DJ play from records in so long that I was really impressed. The music kept me there, honestly, the place is a bit small, but the music was so good you don't really care and you can't stop dancing lol. I hadn't been dancing in years, and in 40 minutes I danced 4,000 steps . Thank you for the workout I didn't know I needed and allowing me to let go of some much needed stress.

THIS WAS THE BEST COCKTAIL EVER!! Ok this was actually so delicious! Strawberry gin drink with a fresh strawberry garnish + lime. Beautiful presentation for sure. First time I got a specialty cocktail here and was so impressed. If you want to go get a fancy drink, this is a great spot to do that. And the prices are very reasonable. This was 16$ but very fancy drink with multiple ingredients/alcohols. I think well drinks might be like ~$10 only. A bit of a cozier going out spot, not super rave-y but fun atmosphere, dim lighting but not too dark, & fun DJs

Very sus spot... if you're chilling at the bar and rest your half-full drink on the bar the bartender will swipe it away and gaslight you that it was empty to try to sell more drinks. Pretty pathetic to be honest.

Music and crowd are horrible. $10 cash cover. Me and my POC friends got heavily aggressed upon by white people. The scourge of fake liberal hispterism. Didn't feel safe so left. Could play a lot funner music for something called a "disco." Had no clue where the bathroom was either. Might have been deep back but you couldn't walk through cause the density of the crowd. Only good things were they had a nice sound system but no speakers in front where you enter and furthest from DJ. So everyone crowds the back where the DJ is. Also, I think probably cause of the cover they don't have to pack the place like sardines so there was space in the front entrance area to move and talk. It's pretty small inside for a place that charges a cover for god awful edm music. Heard a lot of good things about this place but Mad Tropical is much better in all respects. Won't be coming back.

great staff, good music, cheap drinks. happy hour runs late, which is perfect for when you wanna pregame before a show at the venue around the corner.

a must stop location when passing through the city for the cocktails and the dance floor , where the real party gets going!

I enjoy visiting Jupiter Disco. Its location is great, in Bushwick right on the border of buzzing Ridgewood. It's also near the train and other venues, such as House of Yes. I think Jupiter Disco is a great pregame spot or first stop on your night out -- it's usually free entry before 11 and the drinks are solid. Their house cocktails are $15 which is a tad pricey, but they're definitely strong and well-crafted. The bartenders, even on busy nights, put in the time and effort to make each drink perfectly. The vibe is great. You might miss the place if you go by too quickly, since it doesn't have a sign and is inconspicuously settled in the industrial side of town. Inside is super cool, a dark-lit room with a DJ and disco ball, purple and red lights and a cool neon space-looking thing behind the bar. The drink menu appears on TV screens in a matrix-style font. The crowd who goes there is that pretentious hipster type, but they're not annoying and don't bother anybody. It's actual of-age people in here. The bathrooms aren't immaculate, but the two that are in there are OK for the size of the place and the amount of people in there. You don't usually wait on line long. My only complaint is the music. While I absolutely adore that the DJs spin actual records, they play mostly obscure techno music with no lyrics. It's not bad at all, but I find myself standing there with my friend like "what am I dancing to?" If they could switch it up between that type of music (because it does fit the vibe) with some old-school disco hits that folks can sing along to, Jupiter Disco would be my dream bar.

my friend was verbally assaulted here by a male patron and then the same guy pulled a knife on our friend group outside and the bouncers (except for the female bartender- who was the only one who listened to our claims) literally could not care less. afterwards, asking for our cover back from the male bouncers (after getting assaulted & threatened with a knife) would literally not refund our friend.... because she left from a bar. where. she. was. assaulted. i actually used to love this place, but that's just simply inexcusable.

I had a date at an Ethiopian bar around the corner and stumbled here after looking for a bar that would keep my interest level high. I popped in on a Thursday. It was bumping but empty enough to find two seats at the bar. The space is pretty cool. The best part is the entry way -- it looks like a 70s spaceship mock up from a telly show. The menu of the bar -- like everyone stated is on a tv. It's frustrating because they go by pretty fast and the bartenders aren't too helpful. They tell you to check the website for the menu. There should be at least ONE paper menu. The DJ is cool and did try his best to fulfill request. But his library is limited. Drinks are actually pretty good but they're fru-fru drinks. Depending on what you get you might have more ice than alcohol. I would come back. I did eventually -- with guy I texting in the bathroom all night on the original date. It was a much better experience -- but only for the company.

This place could have eked a second star out of me if it weren't for the horrible rude bouncer who, after I took one picture with flash, asked me not to take another because it "dysphoriates" [sic] the bar, the meaning of which I can only assume as it's not a real word :/ This place reeks of trying to be grungy without the authenticity of an actual dive...behind a barely-marked door is a Bushwick-chic cocktail bar serving up a modest selection of beers and an equally shoddy selection of cocktails. The one I tried (my boyfriend's), was offensive to the taste buds and every time I thought I had rid my palate of it, it was back for another battle. I ended up settling on a Bells Two Hearted (the devil you know, after all). The beer was $8 no less... Music is John Hughes if John Hughes had no taste. After 20 minutes of horrible 80s synth pop I had my fill and was ready to move anywhere....god ANYWHERE else. Minus an extra star for vile bathrooms. Return? Over my dead body.

I stopped by here after a show at Elsewhere, which is not a unique idea because it was empty and then all of a sudden crowded all at once. It's a pretty small bar, dark as hell, and there's a DJ, so the crowd made for a better dance floor. Solid music. The drink menu rotates through a TV mounted on the wall. There's a pretty extensive list of cocktails, some of which are delicious, and some are delicious but 2 gulps and still $13. Get a beer if it's crowded and loud, but try your luck if you're here during a less busy time, hopefully like happy hour.

We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. We arrived and everyone was seated around the booth. The ambiance is dark and definitely disco-y (is that a word), it's a cool, sensual almost vibe in a dive bar setting. The drinks were a little cheaper than Manhattan, but not by much. They were okay, nothing really fantastic that stood out to me. The drinks menu was projected on the tv in Galaga type font, going off the Jupiter vibe I assume. They flash by a little quick, but are fun to read on the screen. The bartenders were friendly. One of them accidentally spilled half of my drink on the table as he was preparing it and then still charged me for it, which I was really disappointed about but didn't want to make a fuss as there were more people waiting. I asked the DJ to play Whitney Houston, which is what I would consider disco, but he didn't have any unfortunately. I'd suggest increasing the number of songs in the library as well because they all blended together and sounded the same unfortunately. People were dancing in a huddle towards the front of the music, but it's a pretty tight place. The entrancewas hard to find as well, which I guess goes along with the intergalactic vibe, but was just really inconvenient as it was raining.

I lovingly call this #MySecretGarden There is zero signage other than some holiday type lights around the only window & a red light above the door with people standing out front either smoking or trying to get in (depending on the night and the DJ). Once you enter you realize that what you thought was supposed to be a dive bar is actually a wonderful Bushwick upscale hidden gem. As much success as I wish for the crew at Jupiter Disco I also love that unless you know about it, you don't know. The DJs are eclectic as are the people that you will find coming to listen and dance to them as they take over the ones and twos. The drink menu is via one of two TVs at either end of the bar and scroll in a dot matrix way that makes you want to jump on a game of PacMan or maybe even better Galaga! If your old lady eyes struggle to read the menu you can view it via your cell at http://www.jupiterdisco.com/menus.html. The bar is long, the dance floor very cozy and there are two booths available (right as you enter on right) if you are lucky enough to snag one. The lighting allows for the right amount of dim but "I can see you" with the perfect sexy glow omitting from the orange pipe lights above. This is an intimate space, please treat it as such, this isn't TAO. Drinks are not dive bar cheap you might have been hoping firbut they are also beyond reasonable for the craft and care that goes into making them. One of my favorite cocktails is the Salt + Ash (tequila base) which seems to have remained on the menu thanks to Al or Max, not sure which but maybe Max as it's his creation. The cocktail menu rotates and I always try a new cocktail once it's added. Some I've loved, some not so much but ALL are good - just maybe not what I was craving at that moment. For those looking for a snack with your libation Jupiter also sells empanadas. All in all, you'd be a fool not to step in & shake your tail feathers at least once here BUT also shhhhh only share this special place with those you really like otherwise it's going to become another frat bro location and let's please keep Brooklyn weird!!! Go to Manhattan for that nonsense!

Fun small spot around the corner from House of Yes. They pump the music and cater to a diverse crowd. It's a good feel and dance kind of night.

Came here the first week of Oct for pregame before seeing Don Diablo at the Brooklyn Mirage. The bar itself is extremely dark, however it is quite chic (blade runner sci-fi settings with old school computer matrix fonts used for drink menu) and DJ spins techno tracks all night. This dive bar has really cool vibe and definitely attracts many patrons from their mid-twenties to late thirties to have a great night out while dancing to awesome tracks. In terms of space, it is quite small so it gets packed in no time even before 11pm hits. Drinks were around $11 or $13 each (quite expensive IMO since it is in the Bushwich area) but it was decently strong. I didn't interact much with the bartenders since my friends took over order duties, but I recalled them mentioning they were helpful, despite they took a little longer to make the drinks as the bar gets crowded. Overall, really nice dive bar in-between pit stops in the area. A little bit out of the way if you ask (it is located by industrial city), but great place to pre-game before a show at the Mirage. I recommend you check it you if you have a chance!

Finally, a place I can love to dance to. Really incredible sound system that looks alien or from the future. The menu is reminiscent of The Matrix and I love it. The mix of nu-disco with the older and lesser known disco is amazing on Fridays and Saturdays.

Hands down the best small dance club in Brooklyn. The sound system is quite unusual and top notch and the staff are amazing as well. The deejays are always fantastic and tend to avoid the derivative pop music that is so omnipresent at most Brooklyn clubs.

Went by Jupiter disco on my one of my walks and I was reminded of how many great nights started off here. It's a quirky and unique bar with a very interesting drink menu. Definitely check it out if you're in the neighbourhood.

A really fun bar with a great blade runner vibe. If you are looking to rid Brooklyn of replicants you will definatley find one here! Lots of drinks and a great DJ. The horizontal neonlights make you feel like you are on a space ship! The screens scroll through a bunch of crazy space named cocktails that are changed daily with a cursor

I had been meaning to come here and finally did after a day of drinking. The decor is not as...dystopian/Blade Runner/sci-fi....or whatever, as articles and reviews have made it out to be. It's dark, there is some old technology sprinkled about, but I wouldn't call it themed. What made our freakin night was the bartender, Mellie. She was the BEST. We talked Buffy and movies and music and science and politics and everything. We came in a little after opening, she was still shaping the ice for the cocktails and chatted with us the entire time. I know the drink she made me was amazing but can't remember a thing about it. I also know the music was great, but same story. It was a Sunday. Go and see her and say hi.

Tech Noir meets Blade Runner, there's many reasons to love this brand new bar in Bushwick. Blink and you'll miss it! Super intimate, dimly lit spot with tasty drinks and a killer sound system, add a dash of sci-fi dystopian bunker vibes and you have Jupiter Disco!

Not a large venue at all but I like the dark atmosphere (it's quite dark) and they had an interesting theme. I don't drink so I can't speak for that but the friend I came with had no issue with the drinks; pricing is high but they do have a great display for their menu and they also have empanadas, but I didn't get to try them. I was mostly there to hang out with him and do something on a Saturday, figuring he might want to talk to some ladies as I wasn't there to meet guys & there weren't as many guys around. It got crowded later in the evening but music was decent and the dance floor was pretty good. The bathroom isn't as easy to get to but if you're looking for a club atmosphere without the douchebag types, this seems like a good place for that.

Very dark bar with space theme and awesome beer list. They have at least 3-4 options for sour beers at all times, which is a huge asset. The staff is unpretentious and friendly. Great spot for a date or pregame before going out.

It's kind of like your broey cousin who works on Wall Street wanted to open a totally lit bar in Bushwick after watching blade runner 2049 and you mention that there was another blade runner in the 80s and he is no longer paying attention cause there are some yeezys he's bidding on on stockx that just dropped 100$. Apparently in the dystopian disco that only exists on Jupiter they serve 12$ vodka sodas, the menus are 10 point scrolling font on an old crt monitor and the music is hit or miss. It's trying so hard to be sci fi themed and I love their neon glowy cathedral mirror thing behind the bar, but something doesn't work about the theme. Fun place sometimes. The bartender spilled a glass of water on me on accident and didn't say anything and charged me $12 for another drink. There's no sign but it's not hard to find.

came here on a night out with friends, don't live in the area. came to jupiter disco first as it was recommended by a friend and was interested in the theme. we could not have been more wrong to come here. someone broke glass next to me, and i helped direct people around it while waiting to be served. a white male bartender in his early 40s, dark hair with facial hair, helped me with getting four shots. he stated that each shot was $5, so i said okay, and gave him $20. he seemed confused and confirmed that i was paying him $20 for the $20 bill, and i said yes, that was how much it came out to. a friend helped me take some of the shots, and i was picking some of the others up. he stops me and aggressively says "is tipping against your religion?" i was shocked and asked what he meant by that. he said "in america, we usually tip. was the service bad? you only gave me $20 for the shots." i said yes, i had change with me, and was planning to tip after i had gotten the shots to my friends so i wasn't taking up space at the bar. he said fine and walked away. i was shocked at the childish and inappropriate behavior at a bar that has such high reviews. my friends and i won't be returning. additionally, the space was small and incredibly dark. i hope this isn't the type of treatment that jupiter disco endorses. i wouldn't recommend this bar to anyone. choose any other bar in the area for a better night.

OKAY MY DRINK WAS BEYOND AMAZING! I love a good cocktail made with consideration, not just something thrown together! The atmosphere is great with a couple friends and the Dj playing dance music. I Will be back Brooklyn !

Party, party party! Came in one night on the strength of a friend & wasn't disappointed. The D.J. spun some great songs so I can shake my derriere. The crowd was cool & vibes on point. If you're looking for a place to party & all in good fun_come on through.

I looove this place. It sticks to the Bushwick aesthetic (wood, pipes, dim lights) but the space cowboy accents makes this place stand out. The bartender, Chelsea, was very friendly and accommodating AND the drinks were A+ Also, I'm not sure why others had issues getting past the bouncer. NY husband has a Mexican ID and got in just fine...

Strange place. No signage outside so it's difficult to find, bartenders were unsociable, and the drinks were literally out of this world prices. Not recommended.

VIBE this place is the literal bomb dot-com. Would like to also throw in a rec for our man behind the bar - Gerard - totally chill, but also a badass and made us feel very much at home at this happily bizarre spot. Went there last week but coming back w friends because this is easily one of the most beautifully, thoughtfully conceived spots I've come about in a long time. - P.S. Cant put into words how much I appreciate the warning signs on your televisions - fuck yes! this place is literally everything good about nyc summarized by one bar.

Stopped by on a Thursday to pregame before heading to Elsewhere. As this was a hosted "meet-up" party before the show, it got packed very quickly. Very easy to miss this place as it looks like it's an abandoned shop. There's nothing too special about the inside, just the bar and a couple of booths. The annoying thing is the menu as there is none only a very 80s type computer screen. Decent selection of beers and okay Happy Hour prices.

Super cool bar in Bushwick. It's dark and cozy with a space/sci fi vibe. You could walk right past it as it's unmarked. Look for the red light outside of it. There's limited seating but lots of standing room. I highly recommend their cocktails - so many great options.

Decor is cool, cocktails are killer, staff are friendly, empanadas are tasty! Wow, I really liked this place. Such a great addition to the neighborhood! We went here last Saturday for a couple of drinks and I am so glad we did. The cocktails were killer. Our bartender was top notch - If you're not sure what you want, let them decide for you as they have skillz.

This place has a cool theme, the staff is pleasant and there's was a live Dj the night I was there. With that being said I wasn't a fan of a few of the cocktails, which is the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars. Otherwise I wouldn't mind coming back and hanging out and maybe having off menu drinks.

Amazing spot with a different vibe - it almost felt like I was in the cantina on Tatooine from Star Wars. The lights and music and dancing are awesome and I loved that the crowd in here was so different than the normal bar vibe. The DJ was great the night we went

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The security treated me like I was a fucking fruit aka some still shit like I had no brain I gave my id and he said it wasn't me like how ??? but that's fine I finally got in because it was me. Well anyway I proceeded to the bar and ordered a drink and they said what's that "blonde ale" and acted like they didn't have it when they did because another bartender came by and I ordered again "blonde ale" and they said okay we have it. So they did have it all along but for some reason the first bartender thought I wasn't worthy enough to get it. Moral of my story/paragraph is that they where rude.

Have two drinks before coming here, but otherwise great place. Shoutout to the bouncer on front door, checking Instagram thirst traps. Respect, my bro. Good dj too! Treble could be a bit less, and bar tender could be a bit less dead and drunk. But hey, good times!!

Sunday evening - Showed up 15 mins before opening but the bar owner Al was super considerate and let me sit in the bar to rest my feet. Rest of the nite was great! Had a engaging convo with Al about queens and astoria and then interacted with Leo who is knowledge and an enthusiastic bartender and we had a several good laughs! Overall great time! Top cocktails: Lucifer rising, songs of innocence, slow burn Cheers! def check out this bar!

The vibe here is so weird unless you go late at night when everyone is dancing, DJ usually sucks though, 3 Diamond has better music. The other annoying thing is they don't have drink menus and make you look it up on your phone, they tell you to look at the TV that has the me ur on it but it scrolls and you can't see everything.
