"Denton’s Jupiter House Coffee has officially reopened its doors about a year and a half after a fire at a nearby building forced it to close. According to GuideLive, the shop returned last week after 74 weeks of construction woes and a complete remodel of the space. Since the revamp, the shop is now known as just Jupiter House, and will serve a menu of sandwiches, salads, and bagels, among other options." - Amy McCarthy

I was a first-timer and was meeting a friend. It was a very cool coffee house. It's spacious, the staff was friendly, and the patrons were friendly too. They have a great menu selection with a lot of variety, and the bake desserts were delicious. I will definitely visit again in the near future.

Google
love this place! the coffee is amazing and the atmosphere is inviting and perfect for friend meet-ups and study sessions. however, the bagels are pretty mediocre, i much prefer their baked goods instead seating can sometimes be limited, which kind of sucks. but overall, one of my favorite spots on the square and one of my favorite cafes in denton :)

Google
Coffee was pretty good, the food is fine. Its a coffee shop so don't expect much from the food. Only real issue I have is the complete lack of open seating at most regular hours. Everyone is pretty nice there and they have good service.

Google
I love the place ! Especially having a really cute lgbtq safe place, however the only thing a bought was a chocolate shake (which unfortunately came to be a coffee tasting shake.) But the price seemed reasonable until I got a notification at 2 am the the transaction was upped? To almost 10 dollars? 7-8 dollars is pretty reasonable for a shake but that much?? In this economy? I also do not like how it was changed so randomly days after ..

Google
Haven't been here in MANY many years. ... Very different feel from back in the day. There was apparently a fire next door (hence why the antique store is now a vacant lot). The damage from that allowed for some remodeling of the old Jupiter house. Still a great place to go to study, read, work, meet with friends, etc. Breakfast bagels and cinnamon rolls were delicious. Coffee is good. Atmosphere is the best for a coffee shop (imho). Staff are great. Hopefully I can make it back here soon!

Google
Food and beverage quality is good, prices are too high. Service is ok. Employees are often eating and drinking behind the counter while customers are waiting for their order to be taken. Atmosphere is also good. Nice spaces to study, however, chairs are uncomfortable, and hardly any seating for fat/plus size people. I would avoid if you are. Would love to see more accessible seating options from Jupiter House.

Google
As a place that sells coffee it’s great but as an actual coffee shop it’s terrible. The chairs are incredibly close to the table, there is only a few outlets throughout the whole area and the music is extremely loud. If you’re here to just sit down with friends it’s good but for someone who wants to study and for college students it’s a terrible place. If they had better seating it would be so much better

Google
There is just something about the sites and sounds of this place that makes a Saturday morning special- just a great vibe with good service and great food!

Chris U.

Yelp
Good little coffee shop! I had a large americano with extra shot. Was warned that it already a 4 shot drink. As a general Gen X'r rule I grew up with jolt cola and Mountain Dew as "normal" give me the extra shot. I can take more caffeine than a herd of pachyderms. Should of ordered more extra shots lol

Blessing B.

Yelp
I came here during the summer with a friend and we were instantly greeted. Upon recommendations, I had the zucchini bread and iced herbal tea. The zucchini bread paired with the iced herbal tea was delicious. There are plenty of places to sit and I love the interior of Jupiter House. They have a small outdoor patio with flowers which I thought was cute. This coffee shop fits well in the quirky Denton area and on the square.

Yelp
Definitely a go to for me, my family and my friends. Great environment to work in or just spend some time enjoying your coffee. I love their sandwiches, they have really good breakfast bagels, and things of that nature. The barista's are always super nice, fast paced, and never make me feel pressured when ordering. The baristas behind the counter always make sure everything fits pushed out fast and correct. The only reason for the 4 stars is the layout and the pricing, other than that I love it.

Lysette R.

Yelp
Very sad about their new dog policy. For the past two years I've been coming to JH, they've always allowed dogs inside. Apparently that's changed. Huge bummer as I've always enjoyed bringing my well behaved dog in. Well- it'll help me save some money at least; Definitely making more coffee at home now, haha! I don't normally come in the afternoon- typically a morning visiter. There is a noticeable difference between the service of the morning and the afternoon baristas. I wasn't acknowledged when I said thank you as I picked up my drink. No greeting either.

Emily L.

Yelp
Really cool place with great ambience. I was shocked at how much seating there was- outside, indoor, and upstairs. The barista was friendly. They have little tiny laminated menus for the bagel sandwich options and there were so many it took me a while to look over them all, so the barista suggested the #8 which I got on an Asiago bagel. It was a bit overcooked but otherwise pretty good. I also got an iced whole milk latte with hazelnut syrup, although his favorite that he suggested was with honey and cinnamon. I love when people give good recommendations because I'm indecisive. It was $16 for the two items which is definitely above average price but I feel like you get a good experience and good quality. Next time I come back I would definitely treat it as a shopping experience. When you walk in the walls are lined with different things they sell. Some handmade stuff / from smaller vendors, like knickknacks. But they have tons of bags of different coffee beans, and a cooler full of house-made pastries and breads. I had my eye on the coffee cake bread. I'll be coming back for sure!

Palka M.

Yelp
I have been going to Jupiter house for years now! When I was in college I went to the old one before it caught on fire. One of their chocolate espresso milkshakes has always been my favorite!! The new building looks great!

Yelp
Coffee House vibes on 1000! If you're looking for a place to chill, work remotely, or whether a coffee date/meeting, Jupiter House is your place. Located on the square, Jupiter House has ample space with eclectic vibes. My first time visiting, atmosphere definitely was a warm and chill. The staff ran through the menu with me, coffee was on point and the breakfast sandwich was on point. Definitely a recommendation in the Denton area for a nice relaxed space.

Alex A.

Yelp
Jupiter House, located in the Denton Square, offers a good coffee experience with a parking challenge easily navigated through extra spaces on the side streets of the square. I ordered a caramel comet latte, which had a nice balance of caramel. The strong wifi was also helpful while working remote, and the availability of two floors for seating added to the comfort and ease to find somewhere to sit. As the clock struck 4 pm, the atmosphere became even more peaceful, making it an ideal spot for working remotely. Jupiter House, with its inviting ambiance, emerges as a noteworthy choice for both coffee enthusiasts and remote workers in Denton.

Yelp
BEST baked goods and Lavender Latte in Denton by FAR. So many coffee shops around here are disappointing in several ways including burned temps & not great textures in espresso drinks. Most places also up-charge for nondairy milk & choosing not to torture cows which is the industry standard. Jupiter lets customers choose their preferred milk option for the same price (clap clap clap!) Jupiter just SERVES tha people without the pretentious crap- i love how cute it is, the collegiate vibe, but most of all- the attitude there WITH excellent coffee & goodies puts it number one. Id love to see Jupiter honor its namesake and expand to another store w a better amazing patio, possible open mics/live music, and even more food/drink options-

Victoria P.

Yelp
From the patio of this shop to the whole Denton square scene, it's like stepping back in time. Upstairs, it's all about the study grind, but we chilled on the patio instead. The hot chocolate? Rich and creamy. Those red velvet cake pops? My son said "MMMMMMMMMMM" (approved by 3 year old). And then there's the single-serving cereal bowl - total throwback to childhood mornings. Our server, with all the face piercings, was cool as hell chuckling at our silly toddler.

Christina M.

Yelp
I was super impressed by Jupiter House! I really loved the seasonal pancake latte that they had. It was delicious! The space is also pretty cool. It would be nice to have more tables as it gets real crowded but it's kind of interesting to have community like long tables. I really liked the upstairs loft looking down as well

Michelle C.

Yelp
My first visit to Jupiter House was great! I'm super indecisive, but Mason, who took my order, was really nice and fun. I asked for his recommendation and ended up with his favorite drink--a honey cinnamon drink. Not sure exactly what it was, but I totally recommend asking Mason for it. It was really good! The place has an artsy and aesthetic vibe, and the service was excellent. We were in and out quickly, but I'll definitely be back!

Mark F.

Yelp
What night is complete without a trip to Jupiter House, on the far east corner of Denton's majestic 1800s square downtown. There's a good spirit here and you might even make friends with townspeople walking by the front of the shop. Days are a great time to have a coffee to give a little more bounce in your steps. Cheers, Mark F.

Taylor S.

Yelp
The vibes here is real! Tons of seating. Extensive flavors and combos on their menu. Loved walking the square after. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable.

Tiffany J.

Yelp
This was one of the coolest coffee houses I've ever been in. Plus the cinnamon roll was to die for

Haylee S.

Yelp
This is a great spot in Denton to get some work done or study! The service is okay - nothing spectacular :) The coffee is good but a must try is the zucchini bread Overall, it's not my absolute favorite cafe but was a good experience and I may come back again!

Jeremy C.

Yelp
*MILLIE + KITCHEN SKA = THE BEST AMBIANCE *BUTTERY TASTE + MELT IN YOUR MOUTH INGREDIENTS = TOP NOTCH MORNING FARES!!! *MILLIE + ALL FOH I UNFORTUNATELY MISSED THE NAMES OF = SERVICE WITH AN AWKWARD YET CULTY INVITATIONAL VIBE!!! *So far, The #13 is my favorite! Honey hinted salmon, capers, I nixed the tomato but added some feta on and it kicks this perfectly portioned Asiago dream up a notch! *The yogurt parfait, is what it is... a yogurt parfait... the catch here? It's not overpriced because of being in this type of spot! Cudos to you! *Overall... if you don't come here and see these wonderful folks, you will miss out on what's as close to morning coffee house magic!

M M.

Yelp
Great coffee for a good pick me up. I'll leave them a 4-star review, but they did make my order wrong :-( I hope they pay more attention to future orders when I place them. The service is usually good, as are the prices

Sam S.

Yelp
Nice latte - the service was fast and the atmosphere doesn't disappoint for the "on the square" vibe.

Santanu S.

Yelp
Unlike my visit about a year ago, I wanted something light to eat. While waiting in line, I saw options for both in-house and name-brand instant oatmeal, as well as, various shrink wrapped muffins. On the back of the coffee menu, there was a variety of bagel sandwiches. I ended up getting a slice of banana bread. Like last time, I ordered a hot mocha. I was not surprised the drink tasted like a melted chocolate bar. Because the temperature was appropriately hot, I was able to drink it quickly.

Kristin S.

Yelp
Fun coffee shop located in downtown Denton. Great location, Wifi was good enough to get some work done.

Catherine C.

Yelp
I had a jalapeño bagel to which was added a very generous amount of green chili "shmear". A very good combo indeed! Ate half before I remembered to snap a photo. $4 to me is on the pricier side for a bagel, but it's on the Square and you're also paying for time. The peaches and cream smoothie was mediocre. It sounds better than it tasted - I wish the consistency could've been thicker. Almost seemed like yogurt. The interior is very spacious, the workers were very nice and efficient, and they are dog friendly! Which is why I'll be coming back again in the future.

Eva C.

Yelp
WHAT CAN I SAY?! Let me tell you. I had the absolute best Chai Tea I've ever had in my life. The drinks and customer service here were so great, I came to this location 3 times during a 5 day vacation to the DFW area!!! Pros- Amazing customer service. Rachel is a total sweetie. All of the other workers were also super friendly, patient, and accommodating. Food! Their breakfast sandwiches are amazing as well. Drinks- They definitely put love and care into every drink that is ordered. Cons- NONE! I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back next time I visit!

Hannelore L.

Yelp
Tried the Jupiter House for the first time. Loved the salmon bagel and my coffee. Not sure I care too much about the ambiance - a bit too communist/socialist for me.

Kendall S.

Yelp
Really cool space. High ceilings, brick walls, black & white tiled floor, big staircase, lots of seats, Costa Rican roasted coffee, baked goods (a couple vegan and gluten free options). Jupiter House is very "Denton" being in a historic building, showcasing local art and products, and having a laid back vibe. I was surprised the space wasn't busier around noon on a Wednesday afternoon -- all the bright light, openness, peace, and delicious coffee aromas make it the perfect place to set up camp and stay awhile. I'm not a big coffee drinker but we popped in anyway to hide from the cold wind and to take a peek. We ordered lattes with almond milk and they were soooo good. I almost never drink more than a few sips of any hot drink before I set it down, never to be finished. But this particular latte was so enjoyable that I actually drank at least half! Next time I want to order the Cinna-Mocha or Integrated Mocha (both dark and white chocolate). And of course, the bagel menu... order one of Royal's Bagels. There appears to be endless options! Okay there's #1-20, not including "just a bagel" or "bagel and schmear." If I could eat bagels I think I'd get the #12: pepperoni, salami, mozzarella, banana peppers, parmesan, and sun dried tomato schmear. And if I wanted something sweet I'd choose the #5:"peanut butter monkey schmear" and sliced bananas on a French toast bagel... I mean come on.

Felicia C.

Yelp
I've been visiting this place since I was a student at UNT and I still love it just as much!!! food is the best and so is the coffee

Loren B.

Yelp
It's hard to say too much about the amazing atmosphere and popularity of Jupiter House in Denton. I don't know how to quantify the threshold between a concept that's so developed it seems corporate and one that still retains the essential underground feeling you want from a local coffee shop. But, Jupiter house navigates this delicate balance with perfection. There's something to see in all directions no matter where you look, with lots of light color, mixed materials, music, and social consciousness, and a deep sense of rootedness in Denton history. The menu is diverse, having the expected coffee drinks and a few surprises like a Breve, Cafe Au Lait, and French Press. Specialty drinks are interesting and I can't wait for more visits to try them. For now, doing keto , I settled for an Americano with a splash of cream, which was a solid cup of coffee. Lots of syrup flavors are available for customization along with milk alternatives. Jupiter House also offers sandwiches. Seating is ample, with long tables, short tables, a section in the very back, and an upstairs balcony with picnic tables. We started upstairs, but it started to fill in with too little distancing for us. So, we moved downstairs. On warm enough days, there's also an outdoor seating area in the front. I highly recommend Jupiter house as a top entry in my Fort Worth coffee tour collection. It's everything that's great about coffee shops. Loved it!

Patrick O.

Yelp
Great coffee, cinnamon roll was fantastic! We'll be back if ever in town again. Very friendly employees! Classic coffee house

Thuha N.

Yelp
We got a few coffee to sip as we walked around downtown. Strong and tasty drinks, friendly staff, and artsy space. Definitely will come back.

Sarah H.

Yelp
A small unassuming loft located in the Denton Square... but man, do they have a good coffee! The staff is friendly and helpful, the menu is extensive, and the coffee keeps bringing me back!

Vic G.

Yelp
The coffee was great, Wife and I found are go to place. The people are awesome We coming back soon!

Molly L.

Yelp
THE BAGELS ARE AMAZING!!!! They also get it out very quickly considering how busy they tend to be.

Julie Ann B.

Yelp
the coffee was fine until I found a long black hair chillin in my drink. a little upsetting because thats super unhygienic and the drink was over $6 and I can't finish it.

John P.

Yelp
Jupiter House is amazing. I make it a point to come here every time I'm in Denton. Coffee and food are both wonderful. I look forward to my next visit and my next cup of coffee.

Maru C.

Yelp
We had cappuccinos and split 1 tortilla with egg, cheese and bacon. The order came with 2 perfectly grilled tortillas with the egg and bacon inside and with a really nice spicy sauce on the side. It was delicious. The coffees were great too. The ambiance was cool and staff very nice. We sat upstairs and could look down into the cafe and into the Denton square. I really enjoyed this cafe.

Garfield M.

Yelp
Nice coffee house in Denton, good vibe. I enjoy coming here when I am in the area to visit my daughter. Service is quick and the people are friendly not so noisy that you cant have a good conversation and relax.

Garnie B.

Yelp
I visit Denton, especially downtown area frequently, so decided to hit Jupiter House for come java... Meh... well, it was just ok... I liked the atomsphere and decor. It was really nice, the art, the layout, and the causal vibe, but the coffee... the coffee was not good, took a few passes, and had to stop. Just a note: they do not carry heavy whipping cream Would I go there again ? Well for the casual atomsphere, sure, but NOT for the coffee. I do not recommend this place for coffee... seriously.

Hayden B.

Yelp
Great coffee! This place is a lil' slice of what a coffee shop should feel like. The people are humming with chatter in a magical hall of bricks, stars, and chill beats! My favorite is iced salted caramel latte and #13 Bagel (Honey smoked salmon, capers, tomato and Garden Schmear! (You know it's good when the call it Schmear ).

Matt P.

Yelp
To round out my favorite/best-of experiences in the DFW area, it's safe to say I drank one of my favorite chai lattes here. Normally when I travel, a coffee spots chai is usually an indicator of their attention to detail and flavor. The ginger-like bite to their latte woke me up in the midst of a day-trip to the area. Stop by the green across the street to catch up with friends and sing endless renditions of your guilt-pleasure songs!

Sara C.

Yelp
Jupiter House fired a loyal employee of 7 years who stuck by them through a fire, rebuild and the pandemic after she was held hostage for over 2 hours by a scammer disguised as Denton County PD who presented her with private information and instructed her to empty the safe. This employee literally helped them rebuild from the ground up after a fire, baked and drove cinnamon rolls all around Denton and surrounding areas during the pandemic so they would still have some income during mandated shut down, handled all day to day operations and is the reason many clientele have become regulars. Jupiter House decided $700 was worth more to them then the health and safety of a loyal employee of over 7 years. Profits over people? Sad.

Karlee T.

Yelp
The #8 on the Asiago bagel and an iced caramel nut nebula with almond milk is gonna hit every single time

Son L.

Yelp
What a great place for coffee! They are practicing social distancing and mask wearing during the pandemic for everyone's safety. Decided to try an iced caramel comet latte with almond milk. This was the most delicious latte I've had since the pandemic began. I can't wait to try more things on their menu. I will definitely return in the future :-)

Maria H.

Yelp
My favorite chai in Denton, whether hot or iced. It's always perfect and with the right amount of cinnamon powder added as well. The bagels are also so good and they have many smear options. Check out the menu because you can absolutely go here and get something different every time.

Nani B.

Yelp
Good vibes, nice space, fantastic tunes, and a solid drink and food options. They give a discount if you bring a reusable mug and don't charge extra for alternative milks. I am plant-based/vegan and definitely appreciate that. Adrian, our barista today was super friendly and provided awesome service. We love how he made our oat milk mocha and oat dirty chai. Can't wait to come back!

Jordan S.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop in Denton for years! Best bagel sandwiches ever and even better coffee

Jess C.

Yelp
We went here a couple times. The matcha latte with oat milk iced is my go to. Lots of goodies to look at while you go through the lone to order. Strategically placed to increase my calorie intake and decrease my wallet

Manda C.

Yelp
Upon entering Jupiter House, you will have a long trek across the galaxy to make it to their counter in the very back. As you make your journey, you will drift through the huddled masses of study groups, the tension that is bred by focus as backs hunch over laptops (that's really terrible for your neck, by the way) and see the dead eyed glaze overtaking people who have been staring at the same page in their textbook for two thirds of their last coffee. As you land in line, you will see a bright and large menu that is still fairly difficult to read because of the low lighting... or I'm getting old and going blind. Second, if you are me, your eyes will be drawn to their pastries on a table to the right... oooohhh, snacks. You may forget to figure out your drink as you sift through vegan banana bread and triple berry muffins and then notice a stack of cookies. Anyways, it's clear that they have lattes and smoothies and shakes and cocoa and cider and oh yeah, regular old coffee. What I didn't know until today is that they have bagels and bagel sandwiches! I had already placed my order and paid when a young, hormonal couple finally rotated out of my orbit, revealing the counter sign! I was so disappointed, I would have gotten a bagel instead of only raising my blood sugar with... well, lots of sugar. Oh well, next time, perhaps. They have bagel sandwiches for $4 and bagels with spread for $2.50. Side note... why does no one say cream cheese anymore? Am I the only one? Did I miss the memo that it got classified as a curse word? Schmear, spread... why? Anyways, back to Jupiter House. I used to come here from time to time when I was in college, but hadn't been in forever... it was almost like discovering it all over again. The wood tables are clean, pale, flat and make a great work space and studying surface. I mentioned earlier that the lighting is pretty dim in there, but it's pretty awesome that they have lamps at almost every table by the wall. That allows an individual or a pair to use the light, without messing with the overeall ambiance. The seating is varied, I didn't remember them having booths, but they do! They have tables of varying sizes and heights and benches too! However you like to study or work, you'll probably find the table/chair pairing for your needs, including outside. When I stopped in yesterday afternoon it was uber quiet, though it was half full- they're concentrating... or on Facebook, I dunno. I remember it being livelier in there, but that's probably in the evenings when it's safer to socialize. The layout is actually pretty nice and I love bagels. Right as I'm wondering if the parking is the only reason I haven't been here in forever, my order is ready. I got a cinnamon walnut muffin, which tasted as expected and was very reasonable at $1.50. Sugar helps with all nighters so they are catering to their crowd pretty well. Also, it's Denton, so it's great thar they had 4 or 5 vegan snacks too. I didn't notice any gluten free, but it was pastries, so yeah... sorry GF crowd. It varies though, maybe tomorrow. Anyways, right as I'm wondering why I don't come and get some work done in this very nice, spacious, quiet shop, I take a sip of my Orange Passion smoothie. It's orange juice, bananas and strawberries- the smallest they had was a 16 oz and it was $5.50. Oh yeah! That seems familiar, it's just not very good. The drink was weak on flavor and sour. The orange flavor was really light, the strawberries were not to be found and where the hell is that super unpleasant, sour taste coming from?? I drank 6 sips, spacing time between- enough to be polite, my mother taught me right- and then tossed the rest and headed out. The memories come flooding back of burnt coffee, stale snacks and weirdly mixed shakes. I've had decent items here before, but just as many have been disappointing. With a place like this, the quality is strictly based on the current staff. That's why I'm saying it's average, because over the years, that's just how I feel about the place. Besides, my meh visit today, may be your fantastic visit tomorrow. Considering their drinks are overpriced, I need more consistent good experiences to consider it a good value and rate it any higher. They fulfill their function of providing a place to study and free wifi though. They are a Denton institition, so average or not, I'm sure you'll find something you like about the place.

Josh C.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop in Denton! I am from Colorado Springs, but I visit Denton almost every year, and Jupiter House is the go-to. I usually get hot lattes (I've had vanilla and coconut) and they are always great! My wife and I recently tried the French toast bagel with egg, sausage, and maple cream cheese, which was tasty! The cinnamon rolls are excellent too. Great spot for a good start to your day!

Laura G.

Yelp
Had a great lavender latte! I loved the environment and the baristas. Lots of syrup options, I'll definitely be back!
