My dream came tureeee!!!! The whole ride was thrilling and exciting. Go first for this ride and you can save much time for the rest of the day. We only waited like 5 mins and the weather was not that hot in the morning. Be prepared to get wet tho. I will definitely go back for this ride ya!! 🦖

Visited Jurassic World – The Ride on August 4, 2025, and gave it 4 stars! The ride was an exhilarating adventure with stunning animatronic dinosaurs and immersive effects that made you feel like you were in the movie. The drop was a thrilling highlight! It was a weekend visit, and the wait time was about 30-60 minutes, which was manageable. I’d definitely recommend buying tickets in advance to skip the lines. The experience was fantastic, though the queue could get a bit crowded. A must-try for thrill-seekers

Google
Came here for the ride and we happened to ride on the first row and it was the most wattage spot!!! We came unprepared for that amount of water and as soon as the ride started we got shot so many times by those dinosaurs 🦖 but it was very refreshing time in the hot summer weather! We all had a great time! :)

Jurassic World, an immersive area at Universal Studios Hollywood, features the thrilling attraction Jurassic World - The Ride. You will feel like you have stepped right into the movie! Jurassic World - The Ride is a thrilling ride that features an original story that takes place within the theme park as depicted in the blockbuster Jurassic World films. The original Jurassic Park - The Ride which operated from June 21, 1996, to September 3, 2018, underwent a major refurbishment and reopened as Jurassic World - The Ride. Guests enter through the Jurassic World gates and into a series of switchbacks. The queue is designed to look like Isla Nublar from the film. The queue is covered with posters and billboards explaining the dinosaurs at the park. Overhead, video monitors display "Jurassic World Network", the island's TV station which plays Dino facts and also interviews with characters from the film. As guests approach the loading area, smaller monitors display safety info before guests board their boat. Each boat is capable of holding up to 25 people. The ride begins by climbing the first lift hill and the boats are taken to the Mosasaurus Aquarium Observatory, encountering the Mosasaurus. The boats then go into Herbivore Valley, a lush tropical area, where riders meet a mother Stegosaurus and her baby and encounter a Parasaurolophus before entering Predator Cove, where riders see carnage has ensued after the Indominus rex escaped with the other dinosaurs. Riders overhear that the ACU (especially Dr. Wu) is being called in to round up the escaped dinosaurs, passing by a damaged Gyrosphere and a pair of Compsognathus / Procompsognathus fighting over a tourist's hat. Claire Dearing comes in over a monitor and tries to comfort the riders, but her signal cuts off before riders travel up the second lift hill, where they see the "Indominus" herself spying on them through a hole in the nearby wall. Owen Grady then patches in and advises the riders not to move out of the boat. He then sends Blue the Velociraptor to help the riders escape. As the boat nears the top of the lift, the first Velociraptor holding a destroyed electrical wire lunges at riders through the ceiling. Following attempts by two Dilophosaurus to spit venom (actually water) at riders and a close call with the Indominus, the riders meet up with Blue, who leads them to an exit, but the Indominus arrived there first. The Tyrannosaurus Rex then arrives and attacks the Indominus; their subsequent fight buying riders some time to escape. The boat then goes down the 84-foot drop, splashing all guests with water once it reaches the bottom and the ride ends. Finally, the riders exit the ride into the gift shop. This is a fun ride especially on summer days. You can enjoy the splash of water at the end. Also, be mentally prepared to get wet, no matter where you sit!

Google
Definitely one of the better rides in the park. There’s enough water related to this ride that I got wet. There is also a single rider line to bypass the majority of the queue. Most of the ride is actually tame and mediocre until closer to the end where there are t-rexes and then the roller coaster feel going down at the end which was pretty amazing. Overall a must ride.

Google
I love water rides. Especially when it's super hot outside. This ride will leave you soaked. Either way I enjoyed it

Jake R.

Google
One of the best rides at this park! Thrilling in every way and the scenery is one of the best in universal! I thoroughly enjoyed this ride from top to bottom! While my family and I didn’t get wet on this ride this time around, I can assure you that with enough weight on the boat everyone will be soaked.

May Z.

Google
Be prepared to get wet, no matter where you sit! It’s a really fun ride especially on warmer days where you can enjoy the splash of water at the end. You’re basically in Jurassic World interacting with dinosaurs into something goes wrong and you have to escape quickly. Premise is creative, the actor voiceover is intense, and overall ride is thrilling.

Yelp
I honestly think Jurassic World-The Ride is my favorite ride at Universal Studios-Hollywood! This ride was awesome! It's a 25 seat water thriller ride w/ an 85 foot drop at the end. Lol, we didn't know what to expect from this ride but as we got seated before starting, we noticed everyone had ponchos. Definitely expect to get SOAKED throughout the 7-8 minute ride, not just at the end hahaha. I've always been a fan of water-coasters & this one was one of my favorites that I've ridden! Make sure to go on this ride if you're headed to Universal Studios-Hollywood! The wait time wasn't bad at all on the day we went but also, we didn't experience any wait times really at most of the rides we went on this day (except Bowser's Challenge).

Yelp
Jurassic World The Ride was recently updated at Universal Studios Hollywood. This ride is located on the Lower Level Lot right next to The Mummy ride. Typically, there is a low wait time on this ride. You can get wet depending on where you sit! This cruise ride will take you through the Jurassic World. You may see a few different dinosaurs on this ride such as the Mosasarus, Stegosaurus, and even the Indominus Rex! The concept of the ride is that the Indominus Rex has escaped from the Paddock. There is a large drop at the end of the ride with a photo opportunity! This is one of my favorite rides at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Islands of Adventure! If you're a fan of the Jurassic World series and Dinosaurs, you should try out this ride! There is only one drop, towards the end, otherwise, the ride is a smooth cruise!

Yelp
Perhaps one of the best water park rides! Part Hollywood tribute to a classic science fiction movie, and amusement park water ride. The scenes are from the original Jurassic Park movie, but the props, and dinosaurs are timeless. Caution: you will get wet on this ride, so sit in the middle and bring a change of clothes.
google avatar

Yelp
Re-Vamped! I truly enjoyed the renovated Jurassic World The Ride! I remember when the ride had an open drop concept. Now it's closed at the final drop. The ride itself is more enjoyable. They've added characters and clips from the Jurassic Park movies. I like the tunnel with tv screens of dinosaurs on it. It is very interactive in that you get squirted with water when going through the tunnel. I like the design and how they upgraded it. The seating is more comfortable too. You can't beat the Jurassic Park theme either! It is awesome and fun.

Yelp
My oldest and I loved this ride. It's near Nintendo World, where we usually go first thing in the morning and then hit Jurassic ride before going back up. I didn't realize that the express pass literally brings you to the front. It's an extremely short walk too. Luckily, I didn't get soaked but my oldest did, haha.

Yelp
This is definitely one of the best and the most popular rides at the park. You will get wet so make sure you wear something that dries off fast. The ride starts off slow taking us through the Jurassic park introducing us to various Dinos. They have a story behind every ride here. This one is about one of the Dinos escaping the park and trying to catch us. It's an entertaining ride. The ending is amazing. The ride picks up speed and splashes in the end. On a hot day like this one, it was a great way to keep ourselves cool. Long lines for this ride. Highly recommend getting this one as soon as you enter the park or in the end.
google avatar

Yelp
Hugo and Ivan are the best! They made this ride even more fun than it already is! Made our daughter's bday that much more special. Thank you Universal for hiring such amazing members!

Yelp
The ride is in a boat so ya know you are goin to have some water action. The ride starts off very much like the movie. Us, tourists, set out to view Jurassic Park on a relaxing boat ride. Out in the open air, not in an enclosed room. We spot docile dinosaurs in the water aquarium and on land. But oh no, the alarms go off. Indominus Rex escaped and is on the loose. She is coming after us. Yikes. As she stalks us, we see other dinosaurs in a frenzy. But wait. Tyrannosaur Rex appears. An epic battle ensues between the two of them. As they fight, our boat plunges over 80 feet. Prepared to get wet, not drenched though just wet. The voice overs were of the actual actors from the movie (Chris Pratt and Bryce Howard). The animatronics is pretty neat. The dinosaurs moved and some even spit at you. Make sure you look right, left, in the water, and up high. Visually, there was so much to look at as the boat moved along.
google avatar

Diele K.

Yelp
"Please remain calm, we have assets out of containment and help is on the way." This is a universal studios Hollywood classic, and I love the refresh from the original Jurassic Park Ride. The animatronics are next level, and you truly feel immersed in the Jurassic Park universe. Easily this attraction was my parent's favorite ride, and in my top three. I'm more of a coaster enthusiast so The Mummy Ride has my heart. There is a ride photo, so be sure to smile as you make the drop to end the ride. The only downside is that they will run the ride even if the screens and animatronics are not running. This definitely impacts the quality of the ride, and wish they wouldn't run without it or allow you to return later when it is back to fully operational.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I don't believe dinosaurs existed millions of years ago. In fact, most of these dinosaur depictions are pure fiction and make believe to help promote a mega billion dollar business IMHO but let's just say for the purpose of this review we can imagine they did exist millions of years ago. This ride is entertaining and well made. Dinosaur recreations are well made and leave little to the imagination. If you sit in front you will most likely get wet. We sat in back and still got a little wet but you will dry off quickly esp if it's sunny. The wait is somewhat long so prepare for a 40-55 minute wait if you go around 12 in the afternoon. My 8 year old son thought the ride was scary but enjoyed the experience. There is a playground next to the ride which is a good way for the kids to play and enjoy dinosaur fossil models and such. 3 solid stars for the ride!
google avatar

Teri K.

Yelp
Dinosaurs, water, and Chris Pratt, what more is there to want? Go to the lower level to find this ride. The line is usually not too long. As you wait, you will wait amongst dino facts and also pre historic like plants. There is a video that gives some entertainment with the dinosaur facts and interviews with actors from the movie. The ride is a boat ride. Yes you will get wet. There are dinosaurs everywhere on this ride. The dinosaurs are cute but also scary. Little kids be wary because it can be scary for little ones. If you are scared of heights, just know there is one major drop at the end of the ride. Hit or miss if you get soaked or just splashed. Don't risk it on a cold day but perfect for a hot valley day. Bring a change of clothes or wear a poncho if you don't want to get too wet. It is a fun dinosaur Jurassic World adventure! A must for universal theme park!
google avatar

Mo H.

Yelp
Tired of the heat while at this park? Try to get a seat at the very front, you will be soaked going down the fall! The dinosaurs are so cool to look at, and it's such a lively ride. One of my favorites at Universals. Sooooo much fun, you might want to go another time after!
google avatar

Amber P.

Yelp
One of the best rides at universal, the renovations turned out nicely. The line is just so long single rider is more worth it.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Jurassic Park is the scariest movie of all time. Yep, I said it. Don't even try to fight me on this. Have you even seen a velociraptor?!?!? I always ask guys what dinosaur they would be on my first date with them...then judge them harshly based on their answer. Jurassic Park enters so many parts of my life, but most recently this scary @$$ ride at Universal. This used to just be the plain ol' Jurassic Park but clearly y'all don't understand a rebranding moment for a new movie! You'll see some main human characters from Jurassic World but they also changed up some of the effects to bring it a bit more into this decade. It's a water ride so you may get wet, but interestingly I somehow always escape the water works. Watch me get drenched the next time I ride. It clocks in at a bit over 7 minutes which is a decent run time for a ride but I could float along the calm waters a little longer if they'd stretch it out a bit. I still feel like they could do more. It's missing a bit of the oomph! My issue with Universal is that they have the BEST theming ever...but something with the execution just always falls a little short. How does this always happen with us Universal!? You bring me so close----and then stop. Is it too soon for another rebrand?!
google avatar

Deanne R.

Yelp
Yes you will get wet!!! Love the little upgrade but was expecting more for universal. But still recommend if you haven't tried it. Wished
google avatar

Angel R.

Yelp
Great redecorations to include more actors from the new movies. The additions in the beginning with the giant screen making it look like you're with that giant whale-like dinosaur and it splashes you is a fun addition. But even better are way more raptors and multiple Tyrannosaurus Rexes at the end. A great splash-filled ride.
google avatar

Jack R.

Yelp
I honestly am not impressed with this new ride. Yes, it has great special effects, but it's way too short and it doesn't have enough dinosaurs. You go from the water dinosaur to all of a sudden tyrannosaurus like dinosaurs escaping who you really don't see until the end. Like 3 at the end? Then you drop and it's over. I literally couldn't believe the ride was that short! They also rerouted the splash zone so that when you drop you don't really splash people and I could be wrong but the drop seems shorter. I was disappointed. I guess they spent all their money on the stars who show up on screen for the introductions for the long lines. Waste of a two hour wait.
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
I definitely prefer the original. You don't get as wet on here and the ride seems to go quicker. Pro-tip: opt for doing single rider, so you can bypass the general line.
google avatar

Maggie H.

Yelp
Worth the wait in line, it's a short ride but the most fun by far. I've been on the one in FL but it was before the "new" Jurassic movies were out so they've modernized it since then which means the dinosaurs are bigger and badder. If I had my way I would go on this and immediately get in line again.
google avatar

Jacob R.

Yelp
A must-ride. Unless it's feeding out. Because you WILL get wet. There are 2/3 instances where dinosaurs splash water on you and it's pretty luck-based if you get wet or not but for the final drop everyone gets wet for sure. I scream really loud at that final drop because to me it's pretty steep! Fun ride though with cool dinosaurs and very chill and easy until the very end and final drop!
google avatar

Terrance F.

Yelp
This rise was awesome my family enjoyed the special effects. Next time I will get the fast pass. The wait was way too long. I'm just glad it wasn't summer time. It would've been a disaster.
google avatar

Nathan C.

Yelp
I finally went to Jurassic World the ride, after they refurbished 4 years ago and I also missed the original Jurassic Park the ride as I went on 8 years ago. Yes, I'm still a fan of Jurassic Park movies from my childhood.
google avatar

Jay P.

Yelp
Action, suspense, and getting a little wet. The Jurassic World ride was the most exciting ride for me at Universal. I've never ridden the Jurassic Park ride this replaced but it seems like it greatly improved on the previous generation design. I appreciated how the ride was long and the wait 15-20 minutes on a weekday. It's part outside-ride, a brief section using screens that was well done, and dark ride with plenty of thrills via animatronics. Love how most of the ride is practical effects and the end part in the cave was timed masterfully with a lot of time spent in the literal darkness hearing troublesome sounds in the blackness. You get wet, not soaking wet but enough to have wet pants and shirt and not wet socks and shoes. There are a couple times on the ride where you will get wet and not just the drop at the end, it felt like any time I took my phone out for video or pictures I was getting sprayed by water. Kid loved the ride and went on once with me and once with my wife. Both time he buried his face in us during the dark cave sequence but jumped out and threw his hands up as soon as he felt the drop.
google avatar

Ann T.

Yelp
More like a 3.5, but I'm rounding up since I'm a huge suckers for dinos anyways. I was one of those "dinosaurs are my entire personality" kids growing up. Loved the Jurassic Park series and had the wonderful opportunity to ride the OG ride a year or so before it closed down. There was a 10 minute wait to get on this ride on a December Monday and despite being in the 2nd row we barely got sprayed on or wet at all. I've gotten wetter on Pirates of the Caribbean before. Not sure if they changed the amount of water or the acceleration of the ride to acclimate for the season? The Mosasaurus part of the ride has an "aquarium" screen that you can look at and I thought it was pretty dang detailed and convincing looking. Loved the herbivores, just wished there were more for that animatronic portion of the ride and then there is the carnivore section where all hell breaks loose. The carnivore section is both outside and inside as well. For some reason the drop did NOT feel as intense as the OG one from what I remembered. Even Splash Mountain had a stronger dropping acceleration going down (despite a shorter drop length?). Once again I'm not sure if they changed up the acceleration for this ride on different days or something. Not to be a hater but I feel like my expectations were much too high for this ride. Oh well, love the Jurassic World part of the lower lot regardless!
google avatar

Derrick G.

Yelp
This ride was fairly lackluster, except at the end of the ride. The ride is a water ride, so be aware you may get wet on the ride. The animatronics were cheesy, but overall it was a decent ride. It's not worth a long wait, if the ride has a long wait time during your visit.
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
Fun wet and expected! Will go again! Single rider line goes quick and fast! The drop is amazing and thrilling
google avatar

Myrna S.

Yelp
We rode on the new Jurassic World Ride in Universal Studios yesterday and as much fun as the ride itself, the long and agonizing wait time for a ride that was practically over in two seconds did make worth it to cue for that long. It's interesting experiencing it once but unless the cue is 1/4 of the crowd we had line-up with, we won't be experiencing the Jurassic World ride again for some time.
google avatar

Latrice A.

Yelp
3 5 This rain in particular always has a long wait time in actuality. It was the ride that we waited the longest for and wasn't worth the high length of time. Will you waiting approximately 80 minutes? I feel like waiting for this ride was definitely not worth it. It's the line stretches so far. It's like you're in a long maze. We went on a cooler holiday Thanksgiving cooling temperatures where there wasn't extreme heat but the lines were long and I started to fill it in my calves and in my hips 80 minutes for a ride that was maybe 2 minutes. No. This is a water ride so you will get wet the best I could say. If you don't want to get wet, get into the last row of the boat people in the front and definitely would need like a poncho or I had at least and maybe a sweater to throw on you so you want to get this wet
google avatar

Yelp
Jurassic World is a great ride located on the lower lot of the Universal Studios Holywood Theme Park. I had ridden the previous version of the ride way back in the day and really enjoyed the ride and the little hidden secrets (such as the floating mickey mouse ears) found throughout. The ride has since gone through some major renovations and overhauls to update the theme to that of the latest movies and it truly shows the amount of work that has gone into it. From the moment the ride begins it is beautifully themed and the intricacies throughout are prevalent and really a joy for fans of the movie franchise. The digital screens of the water and swimming dinosaur, the screens featuring Chris Pratt and the thrill of the ascent and subsequent 84 foot free fall drop is thrilling throughout. The recent changes really modernized it and brought the ride into a new era of fandom and I found it to be fantastic. This is a definite must ride for me and I highly recommend checking it out for yourself the next time you visit this park.
google avatar

Brian I.

Yelp
The Jurassic World ride is a little updated from its former Jurassic Park. It's basically the same with some upgrades. It's a water ride, so you'll get wet.
google avatar

Peter X.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite and top ride at Universal Studios. I took my wife here on the first day of our honeymoon and we of course went on this ride first when the park open. If you don't want to get wet then don't sit in the front or close to the side. The ride is almost like the original, they just updated certain things and of course added more holograms. They take your picture on the drop and will show you on the monitor but you'll have to buy it if you want it. They don't allow you to take pictures of it with your phone camera unless you somehow do it without being notice. We also went back before we left the theme park and we didn't have to wait long in line.
google avatar

Craig Y.

Yelp
Located at the lower level in Universal Studios. This has been revamped and redone from the Jurassic Park ride and much better. First off no matter where you are sitting you'll get wet or even soaked like I did lol. So to warn you unless your camera is waterproof I would not advise trying to get lots of pics lol I see why lots of people wear ponchos on this ride lol but on a hot day this ride will be refreshing. Overall they did a great job revamping this as Jurassic World.
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
WARNING! You will get soaked the closer you sit to the front. I found that out seconds after the ride was in motion. If you are going to record or take photos have a water-proof cover on phone . Back to the ride I loved Jurassic Park , was one of my favorite rides that universal has added to the revamp / remove list. It still has good vibes but missing some nostalgia . They really want people to be soaked on the ride . It has the interactive Mossasaur portion early on similar to the King Kong feature on the Tram. You see some old and new Dinosaurs on the ride . Jurassic world was Very enjoyable , rode it 2x . First time was 90 minutes wait then 105 so grab water put on that sunscreen and keep the convo going to pass time. And be sure to hold on to your Butts !
google avatar

Dijana J.

Yelp
It is fun attraction. You will enjoy the ride but a little advice, bring something to cover yourself, waterproof jacket, rain coat or just a plastic bag! :)) Anything that will help you stay dry so you can enjoy the rest of the day in the park, hehe. There might not be to many splashes but sit will be wet, so come prepared and enjoy the ride. :)
google avatar

Tammy H.

Yelp
Great ride on a warm day. Very impressive. Kids LOVED it. Ponchos not really needed, you don't get that wet BUT the seats are wet, so your bottom will be wet. Its LA, so you will dry off before you get back to the upper lot.
google avatar

Shon K.

Yelp
This ride is a must see in Southern California and offers some fun thrills along the way. The ride itself has been around for many many years and was sorely in need of an update when Jurassic World became the smash hit it was. Did they ever do a phenomenal job updating this ride and making it fresh again. Could more be done? We all have ideas no doubt but otherwise the ride is top notch. Great animatronics and some newer video tech make this an immersive stroll through the Jurassic universe. Top it off, you get a pretty fun water drop at the end.

Yelp
After a satisfying meal at Three Broomsticks, the better half and I decided to take four escalators down to the lower lot at Universal to possibly become a meal for the dinosaurs on Jurassic World The Ride. Dinosaurs dominated the earth for 180 million years before the Cretaceous-Tertiary Mass Extinction wiped them from the earth. Humans have dominated the planet for between 6 million and 200 hundred thousand years (depending on your definition of homo sapien) and now thanks to InGen and Masrani Corporation the dinosaurs are getting a second chance to be "Kings of the World!" Once you have navigated the four flights of escalators (or stairs if you are feeling athletic), the entrance ( https://bit.ly/33rpNWq ) to Jurassic World sticks out almost as much as a tyrannosaurus rex. Once you walk under the arch, you have two choices, you can go to the ride queue or to the Dinoplay For Kids area. The Dinoplay area has dinosaur-themed playground where kids can "walk through" a triceratops, cross a covered bridge, excavate and look at dinosaur fossils and there are a good amount of benches for the parents to sit while the kids explore the play area. Universal installed several mist devices in this are to keep the children cool during the California summers. Heading to the queue for the ride, there is a locker room area on the left where you can secure any item you don't want getting wet during the ride. The ride queue (I believe our wait was 20 minutes) has several posters ( https://bit.ly/2shv5He ) of various dinosaurs you will encounter on your visit to Isla Nublar. Large flat screens run videos ( https://bit.ly/35BA97M ) with Operations Manager Claire Dearing, ethologist Owen Grady and geneticist Dr. Henry Wu introducing guests to the various features of the attraction. When you get near the boarding area ( https://bit.ly/35Fc6VC ), the flat screens will be provide safety video ( https://bit.ly/2rtMzQs ) and this is one time you should really keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times... unless you want to draw back a stub. Once you are secured into your raft, there is a short climb ( https://bit.ly/37GKbpT ) before the attraction takes you to a large aquarium. The aquarium contains a great white shark which quickly becomes a snack for a monasaurus ( https://bit.ly/2DkpLVI ) which thrashes around while chowing its meal and its tail splashes riders before the monasaurus runs into and cracks the aquarium plexiglass. Small note: The monasaurus was not a dinosaur, it was a carnivorous aquatic lizard related to the Komodo dragon which perished during the Cretaceous-Tertiary Mass Extinction 66 million years ago. Rohlinism: Anything that has been dead for longer than four minutes should stay dead! Traveling through a small cave will bring you to the herbivore area dominated by stegosauruses and a parasaurolophus while the theme to Jurassic Park plays in the background. This gives riders a bit of a break, provides a chance to get wet from geysers and the parasaurolophus popping up out of the water and a bit of nostalgia for fans of the Jurassic Park The Ride. The next area is Predator Cove and surprise... surprise... the indominus rex has escaped its containment. Tyrannosaurus Rex Kingdom is the next exhibit with no rex in sight. A large climb takes you to a warning from Owen Grady ( https://bit.ly/35BDgws ) about the dino-breakout and a velociraptor will drop down from the ceiling to startle unsuspecting riders. A small drop brings into a jungle area filled with the spitting dilophosaurus (spitting water at riders instead of venom), Blue the velociraptor, the indominus rex and a tyrannosaurus rex ( https://bit.ly/34rOrHM ) gives you a dino-sendoff (hopefully with as many riders as you started with) before your raft drops 85 feet ending with a large splash. The raft returns to you the launch point where you disembark (hopefully with all your limbs intact) and are free to continue your day in the park. In addition to this attraction and Dinoplay area, you can meet Blue the velociraptor and Juliet the triceratops (check meet and greet times), eat at the Jurassic Café (better than being eaten on the ride), visit Isla Nu-Bar for that adult beverage and purchase a souvenir from Jurassic Outfitters. The monasaurus aquarium and the jungle scene were the highlights of the ride in my opinion and this attraction is a good way to cool off during a hot day at Universal.

Yelp
The Jurassic world ride has been redone from the previous Jurassic park ride. The ride seats 25 people per boat (5 a row). This ride usually has long wait times unless you come in early in the morning in a weekday. But even though the lines are long they keep you from getting overheated by the numerous mist machines above your head. And while you're in line you can watch videos of how the dinosaurs were brought back in the movie with fun facts and interviews. The ride itself is mostly scenic until the predators escape. From my own experience I haven't really gotten wet in this ride, the most I would get wet was from my seat. Beware of the picture taken for this ride.

Yelp
This is one of my least favorite rides, but it's still great! Honestly, I'm saying that probably because the drop just scares me half to death, mostly because I don't feel safe with the way they lock you in. - This is probably the one ride where I question their securing methods because the bar that goes over you, has tons of space between you and the bar, the loosest of any in the park. There's a huge drop at the end, and that's the only highly anticipating part of the ride. The rest of the ride is entertaining, interesting, and pretty nice. It's mostly outside, some parts inside. You'll definitely get wet, and if you sit in the front or on the ends, there's no escaping it. The view is super nice.

Yelp
The long, awaited anticipation is finally here! As soon as the park opened at 10am, I beelined straight towards Jurassic World: The Ride, of course! I was fortunate to have ridden Jurassic Park: The Ride one more time before it officially closed down in the Summer of 2018. Tip: If you happened to sit in the first four rows, you will get soaked. If you want to be fully drenched, aim for the first two rows. I sat in the fourth row with this lovely European couple and we were soaked. I also brought along my backpack and it was soaked too (luckily, nothing inside was wet and/or damaged). Next time, I'll leave my backpack in the lockers. If you bring your phone and/or camera along, make sure it's somewhat waterproof. Wait Time: Depends on the time and day you are going. Since it was my first ride of the day on a weekday that I went, I waited no longer than 5 minutes. This ride also has the Express Pass and Single Rider lines, yes! Estimate Ride Time: About 8 minutes. The first part of the ride is through Mosasaurus's aquarium. You get to see her swimming around, eating the marine life. She'll also attempt to crack the glass, which will prompt the first series of splashes on you. I was slightly bummed with this first part. I was hoping that there would be some kind of animatronic with Mosasaurus jumping up and eating the great white shark like how they did in the movie. Nonetheless, the audio and visual effects are crystal clear and stunning. Next, you'll continue floating through the "scenic" attraction. The dinosaur animatronics are cool looking, and you'll get "spit," on by some playful and mischievous dinosaurs, lol! From the Studio Tram Tour (where they have the Jurassic Park/World vehicles), I honestly think they should've brought over the round, blue vehicle and place it in this section. Finally, you'll get to Predator Cove. Here's where the ride starts to get bumpy, exciting/spine tingling, and yes, you'll really start to get soaked, lol! You'll see the Raptors around the cove and the Indominus Rex attempting to bite you overhead. Finally, the pièce de résistance: Classic TRex roaring overhead with you shooting down a final chute/drop and getting soaked one last time before the ride is over. Overall, I enjoyed my first ride here at Jurassic World: The Ride and look forward to coming back here again whenever I visit Universal Studios, yay!

Yelp
2 hours to get in, get out, get soaks, get happy. WORTH IT. Not really but it was mega FUN! I'm so happy they revamped this ride and updated the dino animatronics. They also added new technology into the ride, which made it extra special, extra realz, extra fun! But the 2 hours wait time is too too too too long. Go ride this!

Yelp
"Uh, now eventually you do plan to have dinosaurs on your, on your dinosaur tour, right??? Hello?" Well, Dr. Malcolm, the dinosaurs are here. And the redux of Jurassic Park genuinely lives up to the hype, if not the lengthy wait to get on. With plenty of 4D special effects, new opportunities to soak a perfectly good pair of shoes at a place where walking comfortably is key, and some downright terrifying jump scares, the new JP ride is definitely worth your trouble. Arriving early is key, and considering a single rider trip can save you additional time. While you're waiting, the in-line entertainment on dozens of large flatscreens features stars from the films, random Dino-facts (and a few fictions diegetically-aligned with the movies), and of course, that classic people watching activity make SoCal theme parks the best in the world. Don't worry, your clothes will dry-- but if you're like me and go on the ride wearing shorts and expensive running shoes, Murphy's Law dictates you'll be nursing a wet boot and shivering. Still, don't be a tool and wear a parka. Kids are watching you. Better bet: just keep yelling "DINO DNA!!!" Really loud until the teenage employees tell you to cool it. If you can't fight the urge to make a funny for the candid camera thing (you know, the keychains and refrigerator magnets no one ever buys?) nota bene: it's on the big drop after the T. rex. Oops, Umm, spoiler alert. But you're reading a Yelp review on a ride, so I'm guessing you don't like surprises all that much, anyway. Seriously, my kid cried at the T. rex part. And I cried a little at seeing Bryce Dallas Howard's palpable weight gain, reportedly for her role in Black Mirror. Yeah, I didn't see it either. Nature finds a way. This includes foot fungus. So I don't know... maybe bring some Gold Bond and an extra pair of socks to the park?

Yelp
Came back to universal studios and this ride is by far the best. The refurbishment they did was incredible. The fight between the indominus rex and tyrannosaurus was epic.

Yelp
I removed one star because there was a security issue when one of the carnivores escaped from the habitat thing. Our tour boat got bumped into what seemed like a backstage (??) area and then made some sort of evasion attempt to avoid a v. large carnivore (ALSO in a area it wasn't supposed to be in, and would not stay still long enough for a selfie) Some people got wet, no one was eaten so idk ***FOR REAL THOUGH...*** PLEASE take the "heart condition" warning seriously - the strobe effect as your boat drops can trigger seizures / heart attacks.

Yelp
Wait time said 90 mins but I waited 70 mins. What a huge and positive upgrade from the original. I am glad they got new TVs and information boards for people in line to read about dinosaurs. The ride track seems about the same but what you see, feel is very different. I love the amount of technology they incorporated into the ride. I love mixing the new and original movies. He drop is always fun at the end. I like how once your inside it's more lighting now than before! I personally did not get too wet!

Yelp
There's a breech in the fence .... dinosaurs are on the loose .... Hurry ... oh, wait maybe I should have started by saying 'Welcome To Jurasic Park' instead of jumping right into the middle of things. To avoid having to write spoiler alert all over this review, I'll keep it kind of simple. If you have been reading any of my reviews for Universal Studios, this is located on the lower lot. I highly suggest a strategy upon arrival, it helps to mitigate wait times at the rides. The lower lot should be your first stop (except for Simpsons on the way down to the lower lot). The lines get longer and longer as the day goes on and wait times can easily surpass 2 hours. This was our first ride and we had a pretty short line/wait, about 15 minutes. The ride is a journey into the mystical land of Jurassic Park. They have done a pretty good job of making you feel like you are a part of an experience. Once you finish, they have the photo station that takes pics of everyone at an opportune time .... so you can either purchase pics or decline. They also outlet you through the Jurassic Park themed gift shop. Fun ride, and a great way to start our day at Universal Studios.

Yelp
The special effects of this ride are...meh. It all felt like a relatively anticlimactic lead up to what is a shockingly big drop. When it ended EVERYONE in our boat was cracking up because we had no idea the final drop was that big. The entire drop is enclosed so you can't see it from the outside. It's 85 feet. And as someone who doesn't love drops, I would not have gone on it if I had known, but I'm glad I did! It was a hilarious surprise. You will get soaked if you're in the front.
