Just Salad

This restaurant is popular on the Too Good to Go App and their surprise item didn’t disappoint! I got a loaded bowl with plenty of protein, veggies, and condiments. The employee was also very considerate and asked if I had any allergies prior to making the bowl. I definitely recommend this location.

BIG shout out to TJ! I only want to come back when he’s working there. He made me the most amazing warm bowl & had such great customer service. I’ve been coming to this location for years as I work in the area, and I can tell you right now he’s the first employee to give such exceptional service! He was very attentive to my needs and altering my order to what I would like. If I could give 10 stars I would ❤️

Genuinely exquisite shop... The ingredients ratio was absolutely splendid and I enjoyed every second of it. The service was equally superb. WILL be coming back ASAP!

Salads are delicious, fresh, and value for money. Even better than the salads, though, are the people who work at this location. They are helpful and fun to be around. I truly enjoy coming here because of them.

Clean facility with fresh food! Super easy to make a build your own salad. The place wasn’t busy and there was plenty of space to sit and eat with charging ports. The employee that made my salad was patient and helpful. I got my salad quick and it was delicious! It made me feel good. I recommend this location.

I order lunch here almost every day. Five stars for the manager (Kevin) and staff who are fantastic: always friendly, efficient, positive attitude. They gracefully accommodate the many students who eat here. That said, I wish the company would price their salads (especially build-your-own) more reasonably and offer discounts for teachers.

Friendly staff and app orders always made right. Can't Recall any wrong app orders and I usually mix up toppings. My one star off is that they usually are late making online orders. Note I go at night and weekends when they usually only have two counter workers. They should just make the app have thirty minutes be the fastest order during these times. And JS please bring back app rewards as your main competitors are using them frequently now.

I love the chicken poblano salad here. The service was a little off at this location compared to others (the guy was a little stubborn and not friendly and definitely did heavy instead of medium on the dressing) and the tables were wobbly but overall, still loved my salad here and the service was quick!

So many salad options, I feel like there's something for everyone. I got the soup and salad combo which was around $14. It was a perfect amount of food for the price. The lettuce itself was very fresh and the sauces were really good. The pumpkin bisque was delicious, perfect for this time of year. I'm quite picky when it comes to salads. My favourite salad is Ceasar salad and this one is exactly how I like it! Service was also really good, very fast.

The air conditioning is never turned on and this store is often above 80 degrees posing a serious food safety risk. The staff is all super nice and friendly - they have told me not to order specific items because they have been sitting in the heat all day. They have informed me that corporate controls the air conditioning and refuses to turn it on to save costs. I feel really bad for them working in such an unpleasant environment during the summer and I don't think it's safe for perishable food to be sitting around in the heat... Hope they fix this as I love the salads!

This review is for all Just Salad locations. Delicious menu, and the staff is great. The reason I gave four stars instead of five may seem petty, but it's something that bothers me anywhere. The customer wifi never works, regardless of location.

Very clean, fresh products, a lot of variety and great service. Great options but I like that you can make your own salad. Surprisingly, I thought it would be more expensive, but it was not badly priced. I loved the miso ginger salad dressing.

When it pertains to eating a delicious salad, JUST SALAD is definitely the place to go!!! The location in Chelsea on 8th Avenue between !6th and 17th street is where a young lady by the name of Patricia works. I recommend everyone who decides to stop at this location to ask for her. She is the epitome of diligent, caring, professional and takes extreme pride in her work. I always look forward to picking up lunch there because I know for sure that it is going to be an awesome food experience. Thank you Patricia for your service and always making my lunch time enjoyable.

I frequent Just Salad in numerous other locations with good results and thought I would try the one closest to home. Unfortunately, in ordering a kale Romain salad, with combo topped with balsamic dressing, I realized the kale was mostly wilted and because of the high vinegar to oil ratio of the balsamic vinaigrette dressing; it made for a rather disappointing experience. I mentioned this to two different workers, and they shrugged their shoulders, dismissing my comment or disappointment -- not so much as a check of my salad nor the kale bin. Chalk this particular Just Salad off my go to places in the hood.

We ordered two salads. One with heavy dressing tossed in and one with dressing on the side. Neither one had any dressing tossed or on the side. I think it would have been good with the dressing I selected but I needed to dress it up with oils and vinegar. A shame since the greens were extremely fresh and crisp.

Just Salad in general is the ugly stepsister of sweetgreen, both of which I think are ridiculous chains that should have died out with covid but somehow are still hanging in, but I guess paying $12 for a pretty average bowl of arugula, chicken thighs, and cherry tomatoes is some people's thing, so whatever. I happen to be extremely lazy, so while I recognize that I'm leaving my apartment to pick up a salad that would have cost me $3 to make at home, I'm also not making it at home. Rant aside, this Just Salad is fine but pretty bad with pickup. Last time I went, I ordered the pumpkin bisque and when I got there, they said they didn't have it and asked it broccoli cheddar was fine. It's like yeah whatever but also I never would have ordered that to begin with. They also forgot our bread and the lemon wedges that the salad was supposed to come with. Anyway, will probably order again out of desperation.

I came to this location because apparently the 8th St NYU location closes at 5PM now? Who has dinner before 5PM in New York? Lol anyway... I walked in about 5:15PM, place was empty. The employees in the back were blasting loud music. The front end employees were mostly goofing off and talking shit. I placed my order and the woman making my salads was a little rude/curt with me. She would laugh and joke with her coworker in front of me and then when she would talk to me, she turned ice cold. Sorry, I am just a customer trying to place an order! Sorry to bother you! She was bumping and grinding to the loud music while preparing my salad. She was talking to her coworker about how small the new chicken they got was. I love hearing about how stingy the company is while I am paying $12 for a salad, lol. I have worked in the service industry. It's hard and it sucks. Of course you want to let off steam and goof off with you coworkers. Of course you want to talk shit about your company and the job. I understand all of this. However, my coworkers and I knew 100% you never do any of that shit in front of customers. It's rude and it also makes the customer feel awkward. Ultimately, this kind of behavior comes down to management. If management is communicating their goals and standards effectively, this kind of stuff doesn't happen. Either the manager here doesn't care or they are simply friends with the employees, so the employees don't take them seriously. 3 stars because the food is good, but don't expect too much service wise.

Ordered on Uber Eats for an early dinner. I got two BOGO Earth Bowls, two with chicken, balsamic dressing mixed in, and two with tofu, dressing on side, no beets. One of the salads with chicken was missing sweet potato, which was quite disappointing. The sesame tofu was pretty good, though nothing special. For the price though, I think I would still prefer sweetgreen for the larger portion sizes and be better topping options.

Really unpleasant staff, I came here and ordered around 3:30 pm today. A young African American woman greeted me as normal, When we got to the avocados, she dropped a bad half in my salad Quickly, meanwhile there's no line..... Once the avocado was in my bowl, I asked if that avocado is even good, she responded with an attitude stating : "the avocados are all like that..... unless you want me to pick through all of them" why would I want a bad avocado in my bowl especially if I'm paying extra for it ? I used to work at a similar job, if the avocados are all bad like that, they're supposed to be THROWN OUT, not placed in someone's bowl for them to eat .... She continued rushing through making the bowl . If you don't like your job, just quit ... I've been to Just Salad's where the service is so good. Not this one.

This place is abusing with very expensive prices! Last time here ! A chicken bowl Salad 25 dollars! No way!! So expensive!

I order dinner and it was never delivered. When I call to complain and ask for a refund they justify it by saying that the delivery guy had left for the day. Never mentioned why I didn't got a call. I had bad experiences before when ordering at the store ( unfriendly staff). I'm never ordering from them again

Jennifer I. from guest relations is the most polite, efficient representative I have spoken to in a while. Her level of customer service was so elite that my query handled within minutes which made my day and experience pleasant.

I mealpal lunch here about once a week, and occasionally pay full price for dinner. I don't understand why Just Salad isn't more popular. The salads are good, healthy, and pretty big. The quality of ingredients may be a little lower than Sweet Greens, but the value is much higher, and because it isn't as trendy, the lines are not nearly as long. Part of why the value is better is because the salads are much more filling. The service at this location is pretty good and efficient. In particular, the salads they have already created (the recipes...they don't have premade salad sitting there) are a fantastic value, and they are very flexible on substitutions. One other Sweet Green comparison: I love some of the dressings at Sweet Green, but there are few, and they don't really work that well with the salads sometimes...I think of them more like dips. I like the Just Salad ones more, and there is such a big selection.

I find my regular orders to be very consistent with fresh ingredients. Even if I preorder with their app I can get a friendly smile during pick up. When I ask (or use the app option) to not drown my salad in caloric dressing, they comply.

Good salad but the warm chicken fajita was just that.....barely warm and if you're looking for a bathroom while eating here, keep looking because it is only available to employees. Would have eaten elsewhere if I had known that.

Go somewhere else. Save yourself from awkwardness. Staff are rude and will talk shit in front of you. Unorganized systems will make you crawl out of the place. Upgraded ghetto salad bar. You can tell they don't give a damn about cleaning where the food has been made all day. Leave people. Leave!!!

Went to Just Salad today and honestly I don't usually eat there but today really changed my mind. There was this one employee RJ super friendly. He was very helpful and knew exactly how to treat me.

This is way TMI for a Yelp review, but the backstory is necessary to show how much his actions meant to me- I lost my debit card last week and am waiting til I go back to LA to order a new one bc of a mailing situation, so I've been having to get cash out each day from the bank. So it's a Sunday and I ran out of cash and had no money for dinner, but found a $50 gift card that my friend gave me for Christmas. So I'm all stoked and running down to Just Salad before it closes to I can eat. I get to the checkout and Curtis tells me that my card expired (which is total bullshit that a company can just keep my $50 like that????) ANYHOO. I'm super sad and tell him he can just cancel my order, but he goes ahead and tells me that the salad is on him. IT MADE MY DAY SO MUCH I REALLY ALMOST CRIED. I needed that salad. Thank you so much Curtis!! I just wanted you to know how much your actions meant to me. I came back today and he was working and remembered me. That made my day too. Yennifer was working the checkout and she was so kind and lovely. Tables, floors and glass look and feel like they haven't been cleaned all day. Staff including the manager on at 3:30 today 9/30/22 was extremely rude and made a face when asked to purchase an addition to my meal. For the price we pay for these salads, the staff should be nicer and place definitely should be cleaner. Manager needs coaching or to find a different career.

This is a great place to grab a salad for lunch for reasonable prices. When I went, there was no line even though it was peak lunch hour. I got the salad with Romain lettuce, black beans, avocado, onion strips, and grilled chicken. They have lots of options here and I'm sure everybody would be able to find something! I'm not the kind of person that loves salads, but I definitely really enjoyed this one. The process was a little bit confusing, especially because the people at the stations called out your name for the salads to be made. I had difficulty hearing the man who called out my name, so I just lingered around awkwardly until he annunciated everything. Overall, it's in a great location with plenty of options, so i'd definitely come back again!

Super delicious! I ordered a BYO Salad bowl which allowed me to customize my salad. I went ahead and got the Kale Salad because I'm OBSESSED with kale! It turned out so good and the price point was perfect! The ingredients tasted fresh and my kale was chopped beautifully. I'm definitely coming here again for a bite!

I have eaten the Thai salad almost once a week this was the last one it had a strange taste and when I returned it the girl behind the counter did not know how to do a return

So far so good, I'm pretty satisfied with the taste of the food and still pretty reasonable prices. Healthier alternatives and clear to how more calories they are and what ingredients is in it. You order and they help you like how subway works, and you can add or substitute something. First substitution is always free but after it's extra. You have pay $1 for a recyclable blue bowl and use it twice than return it and it's eco friendly. The utensils and containers' lid is still plastic but the bowl or packaging or bag itself are all recyclable. Friendly staffs and pretty fast. People in and out, usually people take it to go but you can definitely eat there too. It's never packed so the line isn't bad. Walkable to the red subway line and across the street from the L train and blue subway line. Not my favourite spot but definitely a place I'd come back to. I do recommend it too

I frequent the location on 8ave everyday and I must say it's never a dull moment whenever I visit. The team is always high energy and I always look forward to seeing the smiles on their faces. Today I ordered my 20th salad from Just Salad & am happy to say I really like this place. For some reason, a few weeks ago, the salads were "off" but now they are back on track - fresh & delicious! Love the Cobb salads & the low- calorie one with the Tahini dressing especially. You'd never guess it was less than 300 calories. Just Salad makes great salads!

This place is my best place in New York! Not only the food taste like the best coming from heaven, but the people there smile alllll the time and have the best energy that I seen: Jose, Alima, Emily, Avlene, Dianna make you feel like real musical where you could almost hear the birds sing!! When you live in New york you live in you bag and never have time to go home and you move so much so fast work hard play hard!!! The chicken we just got in our salads was old and dried out. Clearly has been sitting out or they are using up week-old supplies. Disgusting. Avoid at all costs

Got the Chipotle Cowboy salad and it was one of the best tasting and most unique salads I've ever had. It wasn't that complex, just chicken, beans, avocado, pepper jack cubes, and crunchy onions I think, but the dressing was very good and I thought everything, particularly the crunchy onions, went well together. It brought out this Southwestern flavor that I really liked. Not to mention it was also served with a piece of rosemary focaccia that was very good.

The Salads is so good but the service is horrible! They are so rude! From the beginning you could tell they didn't even want you in there, you won't fell welcome at all.

Forgot to come back and update this... they totally fixed the pickup process, and have been doing a great job handling things carefully during COVID. Keep up the good work!

I've ordered from the Just Salad on 8th street by NYU at least 30 times this year and never had an issue but due to current events I've had to order from the only open store near me. This is solely based on my experiences with this store. My first, less than pleasing experience was about two weeks ago when I placed an order for 3 salads and a drink. I only received 2 salads & no drink, I called the store and the person seemed unapologetic and explained to me that because i ordered via Uber Eats, I could just place a complaint with them and so I did, I received a reimbursement for the inconvenience but no salad.Although I was happy Uber Eats reimbursed me,I was still starving. The second time I ordered they forgot my drink but I got the salad so I figured it was better than nothing. The third time was the absolute worst !!! I ordered a large order for my office and thankfully nothing was missing but I was completely embarrassed when one my coworkers walked up to me on the verge of vomiting because she found a roach in her salad!!!!! This is where I drew the line with this store, it seems like the people working there are could careless and I would simply avoid this place !!!!!!!!

The customer service is not great. Took a while to ask somebody if I could sub out the egg for tomatoes. The salad itself is okay, not as good as Sweetgreen or other high quality ingredient salads. They freaking didn't even take the avocado out of the avocado peel and just threw it in whole. Unamused by that; I will go elsewhere.

This place is always on point. And no easy feat b/c there are 8 public schools within 2 blocks of it. Even when it's busy, they're very efficient. My order is always correct, they get me out of there quickly, and they have THE BEST EMPLOYEE EVER -- Kevin. If you're lucky enough to get Kevin, you're going to have a great lunch, and probably a great rest of your day. His energy is fantastic, he's the nicest person in the world, and he's just lovely. More generally, the food is always fresh and there are so many choices of ingredients, they make it easy to not get bored of eating healthy. Thanks, Kevin!!!!

I get salad from Just Salad just about every other day. Fresh salads, very very kind and nice staffs. Recommend to try the wasabi dressing. Soooo yummy~

Food is okay, however, this is the 3rd time this place has forgotten an item. Didn't give me my drink on two occasions and then gave me a chicken bowl with 0 chicken.

Very nasty and rude service especially the lady in charge. They gave me raw tomato's and the salad bar was disgusting.

I went to just salad (this location) three times and really wanted to like it, despite mixed reviews and high prices. Last week when I visited, I found a semi-chopped dead bug in my salad.

Horrible experience at this location. I really love just salad and all of the fresh food you guys provide but when it comes to customer service, you need to be very careful when consuming here. I went today around 3:30pm and I've never felt so attacked by anyone before. The cashier that took care of me seemed to be very angry and with a horrible attitude towards me I was going to provide with my prof of vaccine in order to dine in at the place and she very aggressive told me to move out of the way and went outside to the lobby towards me, I felt so unsafe and dissatisfied with this action that all that was left for me to do was walk out of the place and NEVER coming back here again. Just salad offers a huge variety of ingredients and healthy options but the fact that they have people like this young lady treating your customers like this, makes the experience horrible and never wanting to come back here. I hope you can improve this horrible situation.

Elena at the 8th & 17th location was a delight to deal with. And she makes a mean Winter Harvest salad! I'll be going back.

The staff at this location clearly does not want to be there. Wildly unhelpful, unfriendly and purposely ignoring a line of customers in order to make online orders. Every request (i.e. "please don't add chicken") elicited an eye roll and my salad had far too much dressing. Will not be returning.
