Just Salad Is Really Pushing Salad With Its Unlimited Bowl | Eater Philly

"Located at Penn at 3728 Spruce Street, the new University City Just Salad opened last week as the chain’s second Philadelphia location. I found it to be a fast-casual eatery that offers more than salad—wraps, hot bowls, smoothies, and avocado toast are all on the menu—but for those committed to salads the restaurant is running a May promotion: buy its reusable Unlimited Salad Bowl for $99 and get a free salad every day in May. With 31 days that works out to about $3.19 per salad (20 days would be about $4.95), although orders for the Unlimited Salad Bowls have to be in by April 25 and the bowls are sold only through Just Salad’s website, so there’s a shipping fee plus tax. Just Salad’s suggested combos, like the Tokyo Supergreens with kale, spinach, grilled chicken, carrot-edamame slaw, broccoli, and avocado, are included in the promotion, or you can build your own with four toppings and one protein. Since most salads usually cost $9–$11, I think it’s a decent deal that also reduces plastic waste, but of course you could buy the bowl intending daily salads and only use it once, which would make it an expensive pile of spring mix. The company, which started in New York in 2006 and now has 34 locations, also sells a $1 reusable bowl that gets free toppings and says its program saves 75,000 pounds of plastic every year." - Rachel Vigoda

A Market Named Market Is Opening in the Italian Market | Eater Philly

"Opening at 3728 Spruce Street early next year, Just Salad will focus on takeout salads, wraps, grain bowls and smoothies, seat about 23, and offer a reusable bowl program (buy for $1 and get free toppings each time you use it)." - Rachel Vigoda

I recently had the opportunity to visit Just Salad in Philadelphia and, as always, the experience was quite pleasant in terms of the quality of the food and service. The restaurant has a wide variety of healthy and fresh options, which is what has always attracted me to this place. However, during my stay I heard a conversation between employees that worried me deeply. One of the workers told me that a colleague, whose name was given as "Nereida," could be working with irregular documentation, and that supervisor or manager Angel would have accepted those papers. What surprised me the most was that one of the employees expressed his concern about how these possible legal problems could affect the restaurant's reputation, especially with the presence of ICE or USCIS in the city. Personally, as someone who has some knowledge in law, I understand that this type of situation can generate uncertainty for both employees and the company. The legal implications of hiring someone with false documents are very serious, from possible sanctions or investigations by immigration authorities (such as ICE), to significant damage to the company's reputation. In addition, this situation could generate an environment of insecurity among employees and customers. No one wants to be associated with irregular practices, and this could affect customer confidence in the brand. It seems to me a legitimate concern that cannot be taken lightly, since it could affect both employees and the company as a whole. I believe that it is crucial that management investigates urgently and transparently. Just Salad's reputation and customer trust depend on the integrity and compliance with labor laws. I kindly ask you to take this matter with the seriousness it deserves and carry out a rigorous internal review to ensure that everything is in order. Respectfully that Human Resources or internal management review this matter with the seriousness it deserves and, if necessary, take the appropriate actions to ensure legal compliance and integrity of the team. I appreciate your attention and remain available to expand what I heard if you consider it useful. Despite this concern, I want to make it clear that I still love Just Salad. The quality of the food and service has always impressed me, and that's why I always come back. I hope everything is resolved in a positive way and that the restaurant remains a place that customers can trust and enjoy.

If you order online I wouldn’t expect it to be ready on time or correctly made. Arrived at 4:20 for pickup on Aug 26 and had to wait 10 minutes while they made it on the spot. The woman working in the front was very slow and had a bad attitude. Furthermore, I suspected there was no egg in the finished bowl and she said it wasn’t part of the salad I ordered, then checked and saw it was. Even still, when eating I found there were more missing ingredients - spinach and avocado. This was an unsatisfying amount of food and a poor customer experience for what should have been a simple grab and go.

Google
Great spot to grab takeout lunch from! Lots of options for customization. You can order online in advance. Sometimes pickup is a little slow but they’re often pretty busy so it’s understandable. Great lunch spot for something healthy if you forgot to pack a meal. Easy transit access from the trolley tunnel or several buses and walkable from the hospital, CHOP and UPenn.

I ordered from Just Salt for lunch via UberEats because I wanted to try something different than the usual Sweetgreen or Honeygrow. This place is definitely a nice alternative and their seasonal menu was particularly interesting to me. The meal was expensive but tasty. My main complain stems from the fact that it was poorly packed and did not travel well. I would be curious to see how the experience is in person. My salad also had too much dressing on it, but that was my fault for ordering it mixed in. I would avoid the avocado toast. While it had plenty of avocado and great toppings, it was just soggy by the time it got me and the toast could have been a little more well done. I'm giving them 4 stars because they offer something interesting and the food was not bad. I will only eat here again if I go in person.

Google
I walked by this place & took a chance to try it out. They have some good food choices & you can make your own bowl. I didn’t realize they have a blue reusable bowl. No one had mentioned it. I tried the teriyaki chicken bowl, the chicken was a bit dry. I wish it had more teriyaki flavoring. Overall, it was a healthier option for lunch. I would try it again.

I come here almost 3 or 4 days a week!! The foods has so much options, the staff is very friendly.. sometimes they give me an idea what should i get. Clean store tho! Better than sweet green on other block of penn! Very recommended 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Waiting for concrete actions of Just Salad in the face of gross negligence Thank you for your response, but I regret to inform you that it was disappointing and completely inadequate given the seriousness of the facts. My grandmother is still hospitalized in critical condition after suffering anaphylactic shock Severe, caused by negligence in his restaurant, despite having been expressly warned about his severe allergy to nuts. The employee involved, identified as Nereida, was clearly informed, and still proceeded to deliver food that put a person's life at risk. Even more outrageous is that said employee continues to work as if nothing had happened, while my family lives moments of anguish and despair. I want you to know that my grandmother's lawyers have already evaluated this situation as a clear basis for Proceed legally against Just Salad. We are compiling all the necessary documentation, including medical reports, testimonies and evidence, and we have a legal team ready to start a lawsuit for negligence and damages. However, we are still waiting to see if Just Salad is willing to take responsibility before continuing on that path. This is your opportunity to show that they truly care about the health and safety of their Customers, and that it is not only an automatic response to a serious complaint. We expect from Immediate: A formal and detailed response explaining what concrete measures are being taken on this Specific case. The immediate suspension of the employee Nereida while an internal investigation is carried out. If we do not receive an adequate response in the nextDays, we will have no choice but to proceed legally and make this experience public. This incident has not only deeply affected my family, but could have been easily avoided with responsibility and professionalism. We trust that they will know how to act up to the circumstances. My grandmother was released from a cancer treatment center just two weeks before this incident. She had been battling severe cancer with incredible strength and courage. After everything she has been through, to now be fighting for her life because of a completely preventable mistake is heartbreaking. How could anyone think I wouldn't demand justice for her? My family and I will not stay silent while she suffers because of negligence. We trusted your staff with her safety, and that trust was broken. My lawyers will be happy to take this case to a Judge !!

For awhile during the pandemic their level of service suffered and hours got wonky but they're BACK - love the focus on sustainability and selection.

Yelp
Just Salad got this special? Down pat. Looks like I got a two random iHot Honey Harvest but not heated up and not a lot of honey. For 5.99+ for what apparently goes for 12.49+ basically, an awesome deal too. :) I loved it. Very appropriate for upcoming Thanksgiving and didn't have to be. And seemed pretty healthy just like the name. Staff was efficient and friendly.

Yelp
I got there about 30 min before closing and they were totally okay with me ordering a smoothie! The guy taking orders was awesome; super friendly and polite, and listened to my request for the PB smoothie with no agave. Give this guy a raise The place was super clean as well! 5/5

Yelp
Super yum! I loved my buffalo cauliflower salad, and it's an easy walk to and from CHOP. Definitely want go to back here!

Yelp
Okay salads with quick service. Just Salad has many menu options and their bowls are cheaper than sweetgreen (although not as filling). This location is rarely busy so it's easy to get a quick bite at.

Yelp
Great place for a healthy meal! Such a huge variety of salads and grain bowls plus you can create your own. They also have smoothies, soups and avocado toast. We've been here a few times and have had everything but a smoothie and a grain bowl. It was all delicious. Impressed that the items that are listed as spicy do have a nice kick. Only qualm is the inconsistency of the level of dressing mixed into salads. You can order light, medium, or heavy; however, depending on who you get medium can be heavy and light can be medium so there's room for improvement on that. Also, it sucks that this location is closed on the weekend. Otherwise, this place is great! Will return and do recommend !

Yelp
I ordered a salad online for pickup. It was a Thai chicken salad, and it contained no chicken. They also gave me a lemon instead of a lime. The vegetables were fine, but I paid for chicken.

Yelp
Came here for their grand opening $2 event and it was amazing! The line was down the block, wrapped around the corner but it moved pretty fast. Also, there were plenty of people who came by with free reusable salad bowls, tote bags, Instagram photo frames and stickers to keep us occupied so it was totally fine. Came during the noon lunch rush and waited 50 minutes in order to get inside - once we were inside, everything was super fast though. I got the Tokyo Supergreen Salad with tofu and it was great! The thing that stood out the most was how fresh the avocado was - stood out from all the other ingredients and I was shook. Where do they get their avocados and can I get some? I guess it just speaks to their quality of ingredients because you can truly taste the difference. Initially, the miso dressing was a little strong (not mixed enough) but after mixing it a little more, it was perfect. So many more options than Sweetgreen, tastes better, fresher and for me (home base is 40th and spruce) about the same distance away so I'm going to opt to come this way for lunch more often. I docked a star because I came back two days later for their Smoothie Happy Hour (50% off every day in April from 3-6 PM!) and my smoothie (Berry's wild) was lukewarm... I saw the barista put ice in so I don't really understand, but smoothies m u s t be cold. At least in my book. Great hip place, salads aren't that expensive and for how fresh the ingredients are, definitely well worth it. Other menu items are a little steep imo but I've never been one to purchase avocado toast at a store and would rather make it myself (personal preference). Their social media game is on point too. Definitely coming back here with my reusable salad bowl to make my own! PS: tried to make an online order cuz a dude was handing out "$5 off first online order" flyers in front of the gym but they didn't even have this location online.. so how am I supposed to put in an online order ? -.-

Yelp
I had some wraps and the Autumn Caesar Salad catered for a work lunch and was excited from the simple and clean presentation of the packaging. Sadly, the attention to detail stops there. I strongly believe that a salad is not a meal (fine as a side) so I went for a wrap. I had the California wrap and mostly had mouthfuls of romaine lettuce. Feeling unsatisfied and still hungry I picked up the tofu banh mi wrap and a heaping serving of salad as well. Incredibly, this wrap was worse than the first. It was a whole wheat wrap filled with 90% raw carrot, 5% raw cucumber, and 5% tofu and some sprinkled furikake with no sauce or other flavor. It was so awful and rabbit food-esque that I tossed it after a couple bites. Maybe stay true to your name, stop throwing vegetables into tortillas and marketing them as wraps, and stick to just salad. Though even then the one I had was mediocre at best. I'm off to have a slice of cake now because I am still hungry after the triple disappointment and I just need something that won't let me down.

Yelp
Super friendly staff and manager! Great menu options. Consistent service. Always clean and welcoming. Not too crowded. Even if there's a line, it moves quickly.

Yelp
My experience at this location was just so-so. I was meeting a friend for lunch and while it met all of our needs (we just wanted something fast and casual on Penn's campus), I left underwhelmed. I walked in at about 11:50am on a Friday and it was completely empty. Since my friend wasn't going to arrive until noon and I was a few minutes early, I figured I would just browse through the menu and wait until she got there. Little did I know that just a few minutes later, the place would be packed. It seemed like all of their customers were making a quick stop in during their lunch break from work or school. My friend and I had only allotted one hour to meet and in an effort not to waste any time, I figured I would just jump in line then before it kept piling up. I ordered the Barbacoa Market Bowl which comes with chicken barbacoa, warm brown rice, Brussels and kale slaw. It sounded great on the menu and the friendly waiter told me that it has a bit of kick to it -- perfect, that's exactly what I wanted. Just a few moments were spent to prepare my bowl and to process my order so the entire process was fast and easy. The Barbacoa Market Bowl itself was just alright. The chicken was good, the rice was warm just as suggested, and the Brussels were fresh, but honestly, the bowl was flavorless. It had no kick to it whatsoever. Putting the underwhelming food aside, I was content with the layout of the restaurant, prices and staff. Everything was kept clean and tidy, and the staff was nice. For roughly $10, I left content without that uncomfortably full feeling. Would I return? Possibly. Although it wouldn't be my first choice, I do like the fact that it's a healthy and easy option for a lunch meeting spot in University City.

Yelp
I had a very interesting experience here. I was thinking about ordering an ahi tuna salad and getting it delivered but I'm glad I didn't! When I walked in, the workers didn't seem thrilled to be doing their job which is understandable, but I also was the only customer in the store so I would expect at least a little bit of customer service. Then, they said they were out of the tuna so I decided to do a pick two with a salad and smoothie. The menu is very misleading as it says that the steak is only $1 extra, but they mean that specific steak salad on their menu is $1 to the combo, not adding steak on the build your own. To add steak is $4 and when I got to the register and explained my misunderstanding they didn't say anything except this is how it is, so I ended up paying $4 for salad. The salad and smoothie itself were freaking delicious. You get to add 3 toppings for free and the green goddess dressing is so good, so overall it hit the spot for craving a salad and the price was actually great for what I got. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the experience, but if you can get past that the food is great.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Great option, IF, they ever had ingredients. For the past two weeks they were out of several of their salad ingredients both veggies and proteins. Today, they were of 50% of their ingredients. It's getting very old. I don't want to hear that its a supply chain issue. There is a grocery store down the street. Take a trip down there, buy that day's missing ingredients and start chopping, cooking etc. or just shut down. I'm tired of pay $12 for a bowl of lettuce with cheese dressing and a crunchy topping.

Yelp
I want to preface this by saying I am not the type to give a bad review; in my year of using yelp I've given very few bad reviews, if any. That being said, I've been to this location of Just Salad twice now, and I've had a horrible service experience both times. First experience: I had never been there and was wondering how do order - the lady was super rude despite the restaurant being practically empty and wouldn't take the time to answer my questions. At the end they give you bread for free and I didn't know so I asked what it was. She looked at me condescendingly and just said "it's bread." After a series of more condescending answers to my questions I just got the salad and left. The salad itself was mediocre - I'd give it a 3/5 for taste itself. Second experience: Penn had a promotion with justsalad where if you bring their re-usable bowl you get two free toppings. I wanted to take advantage of it so I asked if all the toppings were free. The lady said yes. I pointed at the specific topping I wanted - it was a protein - and asked so if I got that it would come with the bowl right? She said yes. Then I also got quinoa which I again asked "so since I get two free toppings with the reusable bowl the topping comes with it right?" She said yes. Then when it came to pay, I was disheartened to find that they had in fact charged me for both the toppings that were supposed to be free. When I brought it up with the lady she just kind of shrugged as if she remembered those toppings weren't included in the promotion. Not wanting to make a scene I just paid and left. I will decidedly not be bringing my service to this location again. If you're craving a good, fresh salad and also good service - take the extra 10 min to walk to sweetgreen. The workers there are super sweet and the ingredients are clearly much fresher. Edit: managers reached out and righted the situation. I was pleased with how they dealt with it. Honestly for the taste itself it's ok; you get what you pay for. Not the best but not horrible in terms of quality either.

Yelp
I love it here, the salads are always delicious , it's nothing like a rainy day a movie and some just salads
google avatar

Yelp
I ate here for the first time today. I had the Autumn Caesar (seasonal only) and a piece of bread. It comes with romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, croutons, dried cranberries, bartlett pears and shaved Parmesan. I had my dressing put on heavy. The bowel it comes in is big and they fill it up to the top. I felt the sweetness from the cranberries were a perfect mix. I'd definitely come back to try some of their other choices. You can also buy a reusable bowel and get free toppings each time you use it.

Yelp
Just salad is a fantastic experience if you are looking for real fresh, real fast, real healthy, real tasty salad. I took my Wife and kids here because we were all craving a nice salad. I heard great reviews about this place and they more than met our expectations. There is off street parking that is pretty easy to find after 5 o' clock. The restaurant is easily accessible. The dining area is very clean and comfortable. The staff is very hardworking and courteous. The bathrooms are very clean and well kept. The prices are very reasonable for a fresh salad. I ordered the Chicken Shwarma they ran out of the correct dressing for the Chicken Shwarma. I was a little disappointed but opted for the Ranch which was very tasty. My Son got a Buffalo chicken salad and he said he liked it very much. My wife and Daughter ordered the Classic Chicken Caesar salad and they also enjoyed their meals. I can say that the salads are very fresh. We had zero complaints and had a very nice meal for a reasonable price. Go check them out.

Yelp
Solid healthy lunch joint that, despite its name, doesn't sell "just salad." A tad overpriced (thinking of that long ago Tweet from someone that said "Salads. We're $16 now!") But it's true. I mean, you want fast casual organic ingredients, you're gonna pay. Bonus points they offer reusable blue bowls to bring back for your next lunch. I wasn't sure if I'd be back so I just got the standard compostable one. Regardless, it's one of the few healthy lunch options on that stretch of Spruce (the Sweetgreen over on Walnut somehow only does mobile orders now and is always chaotic?) and so I probably will visit back, especially because their Warm Chicken Thigh and Goat Cheese bowl is a close second to Sweetgreen's Harvest Bowl, and that's saying something. Definitely not as big, but an adequate, protein-fueled lunch with really delicious balsamic mushrooms which is a nice added touch. Without a drink or anything else, it was over $10, which is to be expected. Line was longer than I'd care to wait in on my limited lunch hour, but also par for the course these days.
google avatar

Janice C.

Yelp
I am a frequent flyer of this location. I always enjoy the Crispy Chicken Poblano and Chicken Fajita Warm bowl. I recommend getting one of their reusable bowls and bringing it to every visit as you are able to get a free topping and also help the environment. The staff is also really sweet and helpful.
google avatar

Krystal H.

Yelp
I have to echo the common theme from other reviews and say that the customer service really needs some work. I work on campus so I've been here probably 10 times. I can think of maybe 2 instances where someone wasn't rude to me, a person who is paying for a service. It's almost always the same girl who is rude and acts like helping you is a giant inconvenience to her. She will stop paying attention to you mid order to turn and talk to her coworkers about something that happened last night. If you ask a question about a menu item you are treated as though you are stupid. It makes no difference if they are busy or not, she's still a jerk. The food is ok but not worth being mistreated. I think today will probably be the last time I go here unless I'm desperate at some point in the future. I'd rather pay slightly more and go next door to kitchen gia. They seem to understand how to treat their customers. I hope this doesn't end up costing them their business. They already took a risk by putting a new salad restaurant in the same place a different salad chain didn't work out.
google avatar

Bridget K.

Yelp
I came back a month ago and ordered a Tokyo Supergreens salad to go. The staff was very speedy with preparing my salad and took my vegan diet into account. I enjoyed my salad at work that night and it was delicious! I loved the tofu and avocado. It was also super filling! I definitely will order this salad again.

Yelp
I was so excited to come here as I really liked this place back when I lived in NYC. Overall I wish I could give it a five star because my harvest salad was AMAZING!!! But there's one little thing that happened that does have to be mentioned :/ My friend found a hair in her salad which is gross. I noted that the workers behind the counter did not have hair nets and I think they should after this experience. However, what just salad did to correct this issue went above and beyond. Not only did they offer to comp her Salad, but the owner offered to make the two of us smoothies and gives us free bags of chips. I thought it was totally unnecessary to give me anything as my salad was fine but the owner wanted the both of us satisfied since we came together. I would recommend this place invests in hair nets but overall I still did like this place
google avatar

Yelp
Was excited for the Just Salad to open on campus because I had been many times in NYC beforehand. Recs: - 2 for $12 deal - you get to choose two items (I always opt for the smoothie and medium salad). The salad though technically smaller still will fill you up and you can choose any salad. - Barbacoa Market bowl - I prefer this warm bowl over the salads actually because I think there's more flavor. I personally think adding the corn + bean side to the bowl fits really well. - My favoriteeee thing about this place is actually the Avocado Dreamsicle smoothie!! if you're an orange dreamsicle fan this is an awesome alternative and is always satisfying -- extra worth when you get it in the deal Cons: - Though the salads are very classic flavors and don't try to be fancy for no reason, the meat feels very processed to me (it's super cube-like and that makes it less appealing and natural to eat).

Joshua M.

Yelp
I frequent this place at least twice a week, sometimes more. The whole staff is very friendly and helpful. The salads are pretty good sizes and they have several options to choose from. They offer wraps and smoothies as well. Great place to go if you're looking for healthy options! Someone mentioned the prices are a little high, but show me a place these days where prices aren't increasing. I feel the cost is worth the portion.
google avatar

Joo Yeon J.

Yelp
First off, the Barbacoa Market Bowl is amazing, *if prepared right*. Unfortunately, that's a big if. Some issues I've faced: - the portion size varies way too much. Sometimes it's filled to the brim of the bowl, sometimes the bowl is barely half-filled. - way too many mistakes. I've had countless visits with issues, most often missing an ingredient in my bowl. Considering the market bowl consists of ~ 4 ingredients, this shouldn't be the case. - poor new employee training. I've had employees literally ask me what goes next in the order. I had to talk him down the line, telling him what goes in the market bowl. He asked me if his scoop of chicken was "the correct amount." Not my job. - the brown rice is sometimes very hard. Either it's undercooked or gotten very dry. It's like having small pebbles in my food. Not fun. train your employees better! make sure everyone knows what goes in a menu item and understands the standard serving size.

Yelp
Stopped by in the afternoon for salads to-go. Ordered the Crispy Chicken Poblano and the Thai Chicken Crunch. Both salads were quite tasty and generous portions that filled us up. Service was fast. Store was clean; area behind the counter with all of the ingredients was clean as well. Definitely recommend for delicious salads!

Yelp
There isn't much to look at in my picture because I got delivery (didn't know Just Salad did that...and now I'm OBSESSED) but I wanted to post a quick review. The Crispy Chicken Poblano Salad is so delicious! The Poblano salad has in it: romaine & kale, breaded chicken, cotija cheese, avocado, mexican quinoa, tortilla chips, topped w/ a smoky poblano ranch dressing. The bowl was filled to the brim and was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Already looking forward to getting take out again.

Yelp
I love Just Salad!! Salads are incredibly fresh and filling! Ingredients are high quality, toppings are generous, and there are plenty of dressings to choose from. I come here very often because of its convenient location to my classes on Penn's campus, quick service, and I'm always satisfied!Employers are very friendly and always say "hello" when entering, which creates a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Go check it out!
google avatar

Wendy S.

Yelp
I have only come here for the smoothie, and both times they are extremely delicious! There is not much for me to comment on other than it's all freshly made and the service is very fast. The only downside is that it is a bit pricey (about 6.50 after tax) for a 16 oz smoothie. I have yet to try the salad but excited to come back.
google avatar

Neil R.

Yelp
So I wanted to be healthy once, okay? I got their Autumn Caesar Salad, which was simple, clean, and filling. It was packed with squash, which is a nice and unique addition to any salad. The service is fast, fresh, and while the salad is a little pricey, you'll feel good about yourself afterwards. It's a great restaurant for a to-go salad. I will definitely be back as needed.

Sonja M.

Yelp
HORRIBLE! Ordered online. The order was incomplete and the item was given to the GrubHub driver without being placed in a bag. The driver went to another store to get a bag for the incomplete order after the idiots at Just Salads refused to give him a bag!!!

Amanda F.

Yelp
I just got a salad from there and the workers attitude was so bad I almost walked out and left the salad there. I've never encountered such a severe amount of attitude for no reason. Also, I went an hour before closing and they had all of the chairs up and some of them were scrubbing floors and angry that I dared entered during business hours. The salad was also subpar and not worth the attitude or the price.

Yelp
I am so shocked at the number of low stars on this location. I honestly used to go to the one at chestnut street, but this location was so much closer to me. I am welcomed every time I walk in and everyone works at a fast pace. I am in and out within 5-10 mins, especially with the lunch time rush. The two females Maria, Kat, and Fanny are always very nice and ask how my day is going. When I have a long day and ready to eat, I come here because they are clean, and all the ladies are very nice. Its basically a store ran by females, besides one or two guys working there. I usually get the Thai Chicken salad and the peanut butter smoothie, it tastes so delicious. If you ever are in the area and need a quick lunch or want to sit and eat, this location is great and healthy. Thanks Just Salad!!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
They have a nice selection of salads and toppings. The dressings are average. I never had the Avocado toast so I cannot write about that. The chicken noodle soup was somewhat flavorful but cold. The wraps are small, expensive and unfulfilling.......you're better off getting a salad. The detox smoothie was 5.99 for 16oz (Starbucks Grande Size) and half of the smoothie was the leftover pulp from the ingredients that was blended. I filled the cup up with water to drink the remaining smoothie particles. Now as far as the service....75% of the time the people who work there have an attitude. I'm not a rude customer. l say please, thank you and I try to smile as much as possible. It's RARE when those courtesies are returned. I try not to take it personally but at this point I don't even like going in there. The level up scanner works 50% of the time. Now one thing I noticed is that there is ALWAYS gnats and flies in the store because they leave the door wide open. All of the ingredients are exposed and there's nothing covering the food. I just thought about it today what if I was eating some fly larvae in my salad? Food for thought.....

Yelp
When I first entered the store, the first thing I noticed was how clean and inviting the atmosphere was. After that, I was greeted by Karen and the rest of the staff. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable about the menu because I had several questions. I ordered the Chipotle Cowboy salad and the Berry Wild smoothie. Everything was delicious and fresh. If your looking for a healthy fast food restaurant, this is the place for you! I was very satisfied with the quick service and will be returning soon.

Yelp
Just salad is a good place to sit and eat if your looking for a healthier option and don't want to comprise on quality as well as taste . However you are looking for an environment to comfortably sit in a enjoy your food this is NOT the place for you. Just salad has to be the hottest establishment I've ever been in i could practically see my lettuce wilting. The employees were sulking obviously impacted by the heat . How can you eat in a establishment thats feels like the summer sun is your lunch date. No complaints as far of the food but please do something about this heat.

Yelp
Just went to Just Salad for the first to time. Although the food was good the service was "Just Awful" The young lady made mistake after mistake with out a single apology, she actually seemed to act as if her errors were our fault. Oh well there are other Salad places close by. I will try SG next

Yelp
I ordered one of their seasonal salads to go, which was good. The staff is very unwelcoming and even have scowls on their faces. I won't go there again.

Yelp
I'm honestly shocked at the number of reviews lamenting poor customer service. I frequent this location at least 2-3 times a week and have only ever seen friendly, smiling, enthusiastic employees. Even when it gets crazy busy (which is not uncommon), everyone has always been polite and attentive from what I've seen. I will say that the location is center city is less friendly, but I usually come to UPenn one and it's always a fantastic experience. The food is honestly incredible. A little expensive for salads, but not unusual for the city. No price difference from sweetgreen or honeygrow at least. If they ever get rid of the sweet valley, I may literally cry. Ditto for the spicy avocado dressing. I have always been a CYO kinda girl, but the salad creations here are so good that I order right off the menu. I want to give a special shout-out to Jerome at this location. He has got to be the nicest and most considerate person I've ever met. He never seems to have a bad day, and has a way of making every customer feel welcomed and appreciated. Also, his salad making skills are a 10/10. If you're in the area, give this place a try for yourself! I think you'll be happy you did.

Yelp
This place is overpriced for what it is. If you're looking for a salad meal, I would recommend sweetgreen, honeygrow, or real food eatery as alternative, better options for similar kinds of food with more interesting combinations, more variety, and better quality!

Yelp
I used to frequent this location regularly during my lunch break as it is just a block from the area hospitals. My favorite was the chipotle cowboy salad. Unfortunately since they reopened after the 2020 covid shutdown, the quality has been horrible. I've had a smoothie made from what I suspect were unripened bananas (tasted like plastic); a sealed honey iced tea that literally had fungal growth inside (from what I suspect was a bottle kept in poor storage conditions during the covid shutdown); and salads with vegetables that are just not as fresh as before. I owe this in art to the reduced customer volume. Ultimately I can't recommend this place; many other and more delicious culinary options in the area.

Yelp
The restaurant is quite nice and clean. The flavors of the salads are quite nice, the salads are relatively customizable, and the ingredients used are relatively fresh. The portion sizes are substantial also, so they will definitely fill you up, and there will probably be left over for your next meal! Would recommend the chicken poblano salad.

Yelp
Just trying too hard to be trendy, salads are just ok. A bit expensive and the portions are small. Focaccia bread is pretty dry and tasteless. Crazy prices when you add anything additional.

Yelp
Got a wrap on Spruce St. made by Quinn yesterday. It was great, she was very nice, and I will be back!

Yelp
This is literally my first review on Yelp and it's not about the food. It's about customer service. While I understand how often chain restaurant places might be underpaying their employees, the attitudes from the people who made the salad are just the rudest. They were condescending to people who have never been to the place before in explaining how the ordering and extra toppings work. I have been there 4 times and only the third time the manager was kind enough to explain how the ordering system work. If you are ordering build your own, you're basically ruining the lives of whoever is making your salad. They would discuss how they can't hear the customers so they would just ignore and that customers need to speak up in front of us. The hostility from the employee there is just crazy considering this is just an overpriced salad place. I have had better customer services at fast-food restaurants than this. Just a simple search of "service" on the reviews on here you will have an idea what I am talking about. The details are all similar and it sucks because the salad is delicious but the people will be what keeps me from going because I don't need that negativity in my life.

Yelp
Ordered delivery, Foragers bowl was overwhelmed with goat cheese and inedible. Also not dressed, which was disappointing.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of JS. The produce is always fresh, the ingredients are delish. And their dressings are fantastic. I always make my own salad and I consider the prices to be entirely affordable. I love JS because I want to eat healthy all the time, but I find that if I buy produce I end up with a lot of rotting food in my fridge. Plus, it feels like it would be such a hassle to prepare the kind of incredible salad I get from here. Yum!
