Food was good. I ordered fried chicken, yams, cabbage and a fried fish sandwich. Chicken and fish weren't seasoned enough in my opinion, end of the night maybe? Loved the yams.

I purchased 2 whiting fish platter with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. I paid $32 for my food. Opened the containers and was shocked. The fish was fried nicely just right not to soft not to hard. The macaroni and cheese was old burn overcooked and not palatable. The manager should have made a new pan and discarded the pan they served me. Who sell old burn food the customers? Just to serve you in Wilmington has declined over recent years. The older lady with the glasses and dreadlocks is extremely rude and has a nasty attitude. I believe she is the owner. The male owner bald short guy just stares at you and says nothing. The dessert case which used to be filled with desserts from Denise’s Bakery is limited with just 3 types of cakes…. I believe the business is secretly in transition with new owners. Poor customer service and nasty food are a great combination to lose business. Never again no ma’am I’m done. It’s sad because the bald guy prided himself on the quality of his macaroni and cheese and said he fired people for not making it correctly. Well fire everyone and close the doors cause this ain’t it more.

I’ve been coming here for years. This past Saturday was the last time I go. They had a bunch of kids whom are constantly on their phones and they left me on hold for 15 minutes.. when my daughter walks in, she says that she sees that they are on THEIR PHONES WHILE IM STILL ON HOLD. They failed to give me my proper order. Mixed up my sides. My pork chops were a little burnt. They didn’t even have the rice underneath the pork chops, the comes with the rice. Just terrible this place fell off. I dont care.. I SAID IT. Additional: I called to speak to a manager and the person who answered the phone did not sound PROFESSIONAL, let me make that clear. So to think that Im going to put in a complaint with someone who cant answer the phone in a professional manner is an obvious NO. Also, I wasn't able to make a complaint because the business was closing. That should of been obvious since this complaint is being fact checked.

It's so hard to find good soul food in Delaware. This place hits every time. I'm a fan of the catfish platter. Excellent portions.

I used to come here a lot when I was a mail carrier, I just started coming back. I can say the food is still tasty, love the yams and the chicken is always on point. Thank you for this good soul food.

Ordered baked flounder , was given wrong order! Was given fried fish! Greens were salty and cold and sweet potatoes were cold! I waied another 20 min cause they gave me the wrong order! Got the second platters flounder was messing broke into pieces very salty !!

The customer service is beyond horrible. And the fact that they have so many comments saying it and it has yet to change actually shows you the owners lack of care as long as we keep spending. The food is good while the portions have definitely changed in downsizing and you charge a good price why are people paying for cornbread smh

Usually my go to after a stressful work week. But this recent order missed the mark. I ordered through DoorDash. I usually get the breast/wing platter, but this time I ordered the catfish . The fish was rather salty. The sides in the platter (Mac/Greens) were pretty ok. However the side of potato salad I ordered was subpar. It only had a few chunks of potato. One of which was noticeably dark and old. I gave 4 stars because I definitely will give them another chance in the future… every one is allowed to have a bad day & this is the first time I’ve had food from them that wasn’t good.

Terrible experience. Waited over an hour for food that was flavorless and salty at the same time -- fish had zero seasoning, green beans were also salty and inedible. The staff didn't seem to care, and the place was dark and uninviting. Complete waste of time and money. I would suggest get some bright lights in the place, have some jazz lowly playing in the background. Also try smiling a bit.

9/20/25. I ordered the fried fish which was ok but lacking seasoning. The Mac n cheese was burnt and horrible and the potatoes salad had potato skins in it and was also horrible. This is not home cooking. It is I don't care if you're satisfied. If you can't take pride in what you're cooking close down. There was no love or pride in this platter.

Just to serve you. Is a great place to go if you want down home Soul food meals. The food is excellent and you get really good portions. I come quite a bit if I can. The staff is super nice. This my favorite restaurant. The prices are good. Overall it's a nice place to go if you're hungry. Ms. Denise

This is the second time I've found metal in the dinners we purchased at this restaurant! The first time was baked turkey wings, the second time was baked chicken, this will be the last time we buy from there! SMH!!!

Food 3 Service -1 8/24/24. Haven't been here in a year, definitely doesn't taste the same. Seen a whole different crew in there. Order a fish platter, not seasoned the same, green were not good either. Macaroni and sweet potatoes were good. New cooks brought the taste down. Same timing though, always an hour wait, but they always say 25 minutes. Just say the real time so I can make an informed choice instead of waiting around angry. Just say we are running behind it maybe an hour or more. Then they get an attitude when you ask how much long after waiting for an hour

Purchase meat loaf, green beans, rice (requested without gravy) & peach cornbread. First, the rice had gravy on it and it was salty. The meatloaf and the gravy on it and the green beans was also "salty". Also, on the bottom of my door dash receipt I requested NO gravy on the rice - guess the server making the food did not read? For a black owned and run establishment patronized by mostly African american people (higher incidence of having high blood pressure) they should know to refrain from cooking with salt. Then the peach corn bread the one item I truly wanted was hard, dried up and inedible. The piece given should have never been sold in the first place. I want to support black owned businesses but Just to serve you - You need to step your game up to how the establishment was when it first opened.

The 6 wings with mac and cheese and yams were top tier! Had to order early by 6:30, but it was enough for two meals. Unfortunately, I have not gotten to the peach cobbler yet I will check back soon with more info--so far so good.

Food is good. Long wait time. Normally call order in helps with wait time. My husband loves the 6 wings & fries. I love the blacken salmon over rice.

Man this place here! Ok I just got to Wilmington and was looking for a spot to grab food. Saw this on YELP and figured I'd give it a shot. I mean I'm from the south and in in Wilmington, Delaware... Southern soul food should be aight at best! Man was I NOT disappointed! The ladies and gentlemen there put their WHOLE foot in it. Staff was very friendly too! Ordered the Turkey wings (without gravy), rice and beans, and cabbage with cornbread. Washed it down with some tea. Held heat well too as I had to drive back to my hotel to eat it. The only thing I'd say that they lack is a place to sit down and eat. Am I coming back? You bet your sweet ass I am. Update: Ok I went back again for lunch the next day. Threatened the ladies there with kidnapping if they keep making the food like they are. Get the Turkey or fried chicken wings! So much food that the kid had to sit on the box to close it. Yeah I'm going back tomorrow... Last edit.... Ok I went back everyday for food... Too much to type... just go there!

The food was overall amazing. There isn't really many soul food spots here in delaware. The price was great for the amount of food they give you. They have a strawberry shortcake cheesecake for dessert there and that's also AMAZING. You have to try it. The jerk chicken is a little spicy for those of you that can't handle spice. The mac and cheese was baked so it had that crispy texture, very good. The rice was normal rice and the meatloaf portion was HUGE, honestly could probably feed two or three people.

So so soul food - I have had better! The wings were way too big (steroid chickens). Mac and cheese was average and so was cabbage!

This is my third time ordering from this restaurant and each time I have purchased their chicken wing platter and I can't say that I love it. I gave it another chance hoping that I would love it, however , not yet! The chicken wing platter is advertised to be (6) wings and (2) sides. On both occasions, I received (5) wings each time. When attempting to call, the staff can be rude and abrupt and this is a stain on any business. While the wings are ample size as are the portions, if your menu has changed, make the necessary updates. The wings were seasoned enough not to be bland but a little more time should be utilized to remove feathers. As stated the sides are ample but not very flavorful. I'm not sold on restaurant and hope that take notice of the reviews and do what they can to make this a go to place here in Delaware. I can day on this last order, Doordash was fast and friendly!

Ordered from the local hospital, order was confirmed right away by the restaurant. Portion size was great! Greens good and Mac n cheese delicious. All I needed with the fish was hot sauce.

Was there twice and every time the older lady was extremely rude! First, we entered and was not greeted at all each time. I figured that the old lady that wears glasses was having a bad day the first time to discover NO that's how she is all the time. Will never give them our business again and even recommend others don't as well. This place is the worst!!!

So I have come to this place a lot of times . Its a typical soul food place . I normally get Fried Whiting with Yams & Mac . I have tried the Turkey Wings also & most of the sides so over all the food is good . BUT they lack in service . Wait time on the phone is normally more then 5 minutes . When I placed my order today I was hold for 7+ minutes . When I asked why such a long wait the person answering the phone said "7 minutes aint that long" I called at 707 food wasnt ready until 815 . I arrived at 750 that means I had to wait an extra 30 minutes after already calling . The lady at the counter who also had took my order charged my card for the wrong order so they had to refund my card then charge me again for the right order . She also was answering personal calls at the counter . I had to ask if my order was ready at that & it was sitting right there smh . They need to get a better system so customer dont have to wait long especially if they called in they order, communicate better as coworkers, & have some customer service training .

Based on previous reviews I called in a takeout order expecting a long wait time. I arrived in about 30 minutes and the food was waiting up front. It was fairly empty & this was around 2:30pm on a Friday so maybe the busy hours are during dinner. The portion size is fairly large, all platters come with the choice of 2 sides and a side of cornbread. I ordered the fried whiting with a side of mac and cheese and candied yams. the fish was fresh, mac and cheese was cheesy and the candied yams weren't overly sweet,the cornbread however was a tad burnt and tasted stale. They also have a pastry case by the register and offer homemade lemonade you can get original or strawberry. Cashier was friendly & I was able to see in the kitchen while at the register and all the cooks did have on gloves and hairnets so that's a plus; It's definitely worth a go.

Loved the food and excellent customer service. We enjoyed the Turkey wings and fish. Mac and cheese was amazing & the pineapple coconut cake is a must. I love the one in Philly and so happy that this location is open in delaware

I love this place. It may be small, somewhat hidden, and has a wait time of 20 - 40 minutes, but it's worth it. The food is delicious! I love the sweet potato, mac n cheese and collar greens. Oh, can't forget the fish, turkey wings, chicken, cabbage, peach cornbread - and you get more then enough. Great prices too.

Food here is usually good and I have been hung here since it opened and supported it since it since the COVID Pandemic. I realize that COVID has impacted most businesses to increase take out and delivery through Door Dash and other delivery services.Customer service and sanitation is critical but poor at this restaurant.I called in an order and was placed on hold twice for long periods of time.The front end lady never even acknowledged the wait after returning to the call.I placed the order for pick up and was told it would be ready in 25 minutes.I arrive and she indicates it is not ready. While there another person was given my exact order and returned it stating my order,a catfish/shrimp combo while I was there due to the error.(No one else had the same order)The order was taken to the back by the front end staff who told the chef.After taking a call,he opens the container-no gloves ,mask lowered and asks the front end lady what is this? She goes back and takes parchment sheets to remove the items and says just redrop it)refry it) and I guess re-serve it to me.I am watching this from the front and at this point ask for and got a refund. I cannot believe that they would attempt this after the item left the store with another customer and returned and to re-fry it-I am very disappointed and May report to OSHA. They need additional help on the front desk with better customer service and she too was preparing the take out bags,handling money and cards and taking phone orders but wore her mask improperly below her nose the entire time as well as when she went to the kitchen as well as no gloves.Again very disappointed and may not return.

Great food everything was well seasoned and very tasty. The portions are large well worth the price.

Customer service could be better but the food was great. They were able to accommodate a group of 7 without reservations on Sunday. They seating is limited and the downstairs area is small. The food was delicious. 3 of us ordered the catfish which was just fine but the sides were great I had the Mac and cheese, potato salad, and greens. A good thing I wasn't to highlight is that one of us wanted oxtails and they were all out. However, our waitress said it was a small amount left and let us have that. I thought it was very nice gesture. I was very pleased with the food just wish the waitress was friendlier.

I had to give 1 star because the option of negative wasn't available. The WORST soul food restaurant ever! I ordered my food at 6:30pm, my order took 2hrs to complete/ready.at 8:35pm (3 adult platters and 1 kid platter) This establishment is very unorganized. One server was extremely unprofessional, rude and the profanity was out of control. Never again!!!!!

I heard about this restaurant through a coworker. I don't live in DE so I'm always looking for new places to try for lunch. The first time I went I ordered over the phone a Turkey Chip Platter with 2 sides & Turkey Wings with 2 sides it was about $15 for each. Once I returned to work I discovered I was missing a chop but I called and straightened it out with the staff Pros: Food is fire everything I've ordered has been amazing. Perfectly seasoned and fresh. I also had their fried wings which were good too. Cons: Placing an order over the phone. This can be quite a task. If during lunch call early. Maybe be on hold for a bit but worth the wait. Try it at least once I think you'll like it.

The food is good. The service is the reason for the rating. 1st time I called ahead the girl put the phone down and started complaining in the back round to another worker that she was alone and didn't know what to do then they started joking around and no one ever picked up after 8 mins I hung up. 2nd time I called a girl picked up put me on hold for 15 mins and then they hung up on me I was calling ahead to order for 10 people. Once my friends got there it was empty and the workers were standing around and once she placed the order there was still a 25 min. The food was great but too much of a headache for that type of service and thus the reason for the rating.

I used to go to the Philly location, so when they made this one I was happy! I was going every other Friday for dinner. I stopped going as much once I found hair in my cornbread. But the place is already packed and sometimes their phone is off the hook, so call ahead like when your 30 mins away

Food is always cooked to perfection I always order the chicken wings imma try the fish next the side could be better but I haven't had any bad sides yet I will continue to order from here and eat here

Found this place around the way from my sisters place in DE. Flavorful and hit the spot. There was a line before and after I got my food so the locals know its good food.

I'm only giving 2 stars because I've been here on a weekday for lunch and everything was good. I think they can't handle heavy volume because my Mac and cheese was watery and ran all throughout the platter.

Fantastic food. I had a turkey chop, Mac and cheese and yams and it tasted just like the way my grandmom cooks. No complaints at all and definitely will be ordering again.

I ordered on DoorDash and it took them almost 2 hours to tell my dash driver that they ran out of everything I ordered. I ordered around 5:30. My dasher called me at 7:25. Rediculous

So i have been eating at just to serve you since they opened this establishment in Wilmington Delaware, typically always enjoyed the food portion as well as taste and apperance cause to be honest i like my food to look apetizing (yes its very impressive when the food looks just as good as it taste . Today was the first time i ever had a complaint ordered whiting platter macaroni and cheese sweet potatoes for lunch the whiting had no taste no seasoning at all. So i called and complained they quickly let me no it was because some folks complained of batter being to salty wchich i understand but i never experienced that and they quickly apologized.. 2 minutes later they called me back and asked me to return after work to pick up more platters free of charge the way i am used to gettung from there wchich was absolutely hot and theee best...thank you just to serve

I'm so ashamed that this is my second time here in one week lol. Yes it's that good. This is certified grade-A soul food. Everything is great but I have to say the macaroni will make you slap your momma! Portion sizes are huge too.

I went to Just to serve you in Wilmington De. My team and I ordered $100 worth of food and the service was horrible . I called the order in at 11:30, got there at 12:10 and the food was not ready . We did not get our order until 12:35. I asked the lady why wasn't it ready sooner and she instantly got an attitude with me . The nerve of her after we supported your business. I don't think I will order from there again due to them being unorganized and their horrible customer service. If anyone that is employed by this company is reading this review (which I hope you are ) please add some staff to help make the platters because your food is already cooked and there is no reason as to why your customers should have to wait so long .

This place is very deceiving when you walk by but once you sit down and began to taste what Dave prepared you will be an instant fan and will always come back. I highly suggest that you call in your order because they can get busier times and you will not be disappointed

The food is very good. I have frequented this place at least ten times because of the food but this last customer service experience is the last straw. Holiday hours state they are open until 7pm. On 12/31/20 I started calling as I made my way there, figuring I could place my order and it would be ready. The phone was busy my entire 15 minute ride there. I arrive at 6:40 walk in and I am told there closed. The phone was off the hook and the heavier lady up front ( who is always nasty ) was extra nasty, attempting to dismiss me by saying Happy New Year. I used to be a big fan of this place, food was good and prices were reasonable. It was until I experienced the customer service first handed that I realized how rude and unprofessional are the people who work here. They have no problem down-talking you in front of other customers. They also have no problem with hanging up on you too. The food is good, but with bad customer service there is no point in going there. They lost a great customer.

So happy there's a location in Wilmington now. I used to frequent this business when I lived in Philly. There's absolutely nothing different about it. Same great food, same lousy service. Not rude just very unorganized but hey the food is great and the price is totally worth it. Just call in your order in advance.

Crowded and you'll have to wait a while to place your order but it's worth it! Area upstairs to dine in or you can carry out. The pics are my leftovers. Plenty of food. Will definitely be back.

I ordered turkey chops, mac & cheese and yams. Everything was tasty. Mac & cheese was cheesy and very flavorful. Great food, huge portions, really no complaints. I will definitely come back.

Decent food, customer service from Hell. I haven't been here a time where some mess wasn't going on in the back. String beans is slamming! Cabbage is okay. Whiting is good. Lightly seasoned. What they lack in taste, they make up for in portions. Yes, you'll get plenty to eat in an order. Don't be dismayed by Sista. She got the "Drill Instructor syndrome". Treat her with some luv and respect. She will hook your plate up. Yaahmeen

Very flavorful fried chicken, fried catfish, fried whiting, collard greens, yellow rice, mac and cheese, candied yams, and cornbread. The only I don't recommend are the mashed potatoes (they're flavorless and don't have good texture to them).

Terrible service!!! The staff doesn't communicate with each other so orders are always wrong. They're in there running around like chickens with they're heads cut off I ordered at 6pm and my food wasn't ready until 7:30-8pm The cooks never have food ready! They keep you on hold forever if your'e calling to place and order. Last time I went they over charged me for 1 side. Fried wings are never cooked thoroughly It's just a total mess in there. The place is a joke The entire establishment is unprofessional. Take my advice and stay far far away from this place.
