Justice Urban Tavern

Mainly this lobby restaurant serves breakfast fast for guests who stay in Double Tree Hilton Downtown in LA. Tried eating dinner here during my stay and found food is basic and menu is limited with less people patronizing the place. At times ready for surprises as item ordered can be found different from order as in my kale salad no kale found.

Ordered their omelette, it was great. Please check out the pics. As a Hilton Diamond member they gave me $18 credit which doesn’t even cover omelette plus tax. Other hotels cover the entire buffet

It’s got a great layout and those high ceilings make it feel spacious. Perfect place to grab a drink and some pub food after work. I’ll be back!

Chilled in here as I waited for my sister to finish her event and had a great time. I got the calamari and WOW- the portion was a lot more than I had anticipated. The calamari was soft, chewy, well seasoned, and fried to perfection.

I was walking around looking for a good happy hour and came across this place on my way to another bookmarked place. It didn't have awesome stars but I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered an old fashioned on happy hour $7, it taste yummy but they need to make one big ice cube or put less in. I couldn't even get to the black cherry ;( sad face. Not the bartenders fault at all, he mad an awesome drink with what he had. Service is great. Attentive, welcoming and friendly. The oysters on hh are $2. Presentation sucks, I was scared to eat them to tell you the truth. Served on a side dish with mostly water and some Ice, the cocktail sauce container overlapping and touching the oysters... I think this is a good place for happy hour wine and beer. But I don't see myself coming back unless I order wine lol. Give it a try I'm sure it will be better

We were staying at the double tree and we had seen the sign advertising Justin’s tavern so we decided to go down and order a couple of night cap drinks, I ordered an Irish coffee and my wife ordered an old fashion, the coffee was hotel quality and my wife’s drink was a very small glass, when the waiter gave us the bill it was just shy of $50.00 which is insane… without tip …

I visited this place three times already. ordered Ceasar Salad and Shor rib for first visit, and Ribeye steak the second. Third time was for. a beer. I liked both Short Rib and steak. Also, Ceasar salad was pretty good too. Hearty meals and good beers. Try Irish Larger. Oh, and the bartender offers efficient service.

My wife and I wandered in after a day of walking around and we're greeted very warmly by the waiter. We were not treated offhandedly for being casual. Also, the tater tots here are amazing.

My party went here for breakfast and lunch. A very convenient location if you're staying in the hotel (obviously, as it's located inside). The theming is very... law? justice system? The food is very expensive in all honesty. I think hotel food is usually overpriced though, so take that with what you will. For breakfast, my party got an omelette (which comes with potatoes, the oatmeal, the yogurt parfait, and the breakfast burrito. The omelet was good though the potatoes tasted faintly reminiscent of .. dirt? The oatmeal came with the toppings on the side and was basically just oatmeal, nothing crazy. Same with the parfait. The burrito was very good and came with a salsa and your choice of meat, but warning that this is very greasy. When we came for dinner, we all got the burger. It was overall pretty good and the included fries had a good seasoning (boooo for the pickle spear being some non-dill variety). The service was consistently very good. They were always attentive and quick. One random thing was that we were given a ketchup bottle that was unopened and we had to open the safety seal up. Maybe a good indication that they have lots of customers so they're always getting new ketchup? Or maybe just lucky timing? Who knows!

Disappointing experience though there were some redeeming qualities. Valentine's dinner for two, the eve before catching the Flyaway to LAX and heading home. We chose Justice Urban Tavern because it was convenient and we were tired. Arriving at 6:20, the restaurant was not busy, but seemed to only have one server and one food runner. The server was also the hostess, so she was juggling many balls. We were seated quickly..... and that's where things began unraveling. Time to take our order seemed long, but OK. No problem. After ordering our food, we had to ask the server for water. Then we waited, way too long. We noticed other guests who arrived after we did eating and even asking for their check (about 45-minutes in). Finally, our server came to our table to apologize, stating she forgot to put our order in. She was straightforward, sincerely sorry and seemed to be a very kind, hard working person. We decided to stay and move forward. Things began looking up. Our calamari arrived quickly and was piping hot and crispy. The breading was a bit much and the flavor, even with the aioli, was lacking (3-stars). Next came our Cesar kale salad. It was large enough for two to share. My husband enjoyed it more than I did. I felt the dressing was a little thick and the greens weren't crisp enough (3-stars). The buffalo's wings were the highlight of the meal. They were hot, slightly crispy and the sauce was flavorful. They came nicely presented in a large tray with generous portions of celery and carrots. We asked for the sauce on the side and it came smothered in sauce, but as t least it was tasty (4-stars). The server comped us the calamari and our total bill came to $40. It would have been closer to $60 without the comped item, definitely excessive for the quality of the meal. The environment was spacious and nicely decorated. It was convenient. Not sure we would return. Not motivated to take photos.

The service here was good and the waiter check on us often. The burger and wings were decent but nothing too brag on. The margarita was way too sweet and tasted mostly like lime and sugar. Located inside of the Doubleetree hotel and it has plenty of window to have it well lit during the day. Plenty of tv in the area to watch games on too.

Wonderful people here! They are ambiance is very relaxing light jazz in the background. Great and attentive service. Always a nice smile. The food is awesome. I had the impossible burger minus the cheese and bread but OMG it was amazing definitely a must come to.

I wanted to love this. Getting back to normal travel has been exciting, and it's awesome to be able to get a quick breakfast in a hotel restaurant. That did not happen here. I went in yesterday, looked at the menu, and the Buffet, but the temperature was so blisteringly cold, I realize quickly that I would not be able to eat there. I ordered a bowl of oatmeal and brought it up to my room. The employees were cold as well but there seems to be nothing they can do about it. Very disappointing and unnecessary. The oatmeal was fine though!

I WANT JUSTICE! For the slop they pass off as breakfast that cost $30. Cold eggs, soggy potatoes. What a joke. I guess they think they can get away with it since Starbucks next door shut down and they have you captive.

Food was good. Appetizer plate was sent back dirty, Best cocktail ever Whiskey with pear liquor. Make sure they include the cherry. Round two didn't have one. The pole bowl was my all time favorite.

The food is not good. It was overpriced and just not good. Ordered the eggs benedict, it smelled like Chinese food. Weird, right?!?! They used so much vinegar poaching the eggs that the whole dish had a vinegar taste. Country potatoes weren't crisp at all and had a strong flavor of bell pepper...strong! Also, if you're going to charge me $20 for eggs benedict, put actual ham on it and not two paper thin slices of lunch meat. Find somewhere else to eat breakfast.

Once we were seated, we asked for water. 15 mins later we had to ask again. The waitress took our drink order (a beer & a lemon drop with Tito's). We received the beer and a glass of Tito's. I sent back the Tito's for the lemon drop. The lemon drop was freshly squeezed lemons with Tito's and a salt rim. I sent it back and just asked for a lemonade. The lemonade was lemon and water. At this point we hadn't even ordered food yet. Because there was ONE waitress/server. We ordered the sliders and the calamari. The sliders were warm and decent and the calamari was a bit dry. I wish I could've had a better experience here.

Nice little restaurant located in the double tree hotel, in the Little Tokyo area of Los Angeles. Nicely decorated, open concept, modern contemporary decor. Staff is super nice, friendly & attentive. Ordered the turkey club with a side salad, my co-worker ordered the pork belly tacos, she said it was good. My turkey club was wonderful, fully stacked, little pricey but the sandwich was huge and it does come with a side dish. Street parking is a challenge, parking restrictions during peak hours, so read the parking signs & I'm not sure if the hotel charges for parking An above average restaurant for me, 4 stars from me.

The service was great, but the food not so much. We ordered a 12oz medium rib eye, and got a well done burnt steak that didn't even look remotely like a 12oz steak

Ive been here several times for different occasions; Parties, happy hours, brunch or just for a drink. The staff has always been pleasant but I had to write this review because I felt weird about my transaction. It made me think that bartenders can create extra cash flow with this small action. Today I bought a beer. The price on the receipt said $7 with tax $7.67. I gave the lady $20 and she gave me $12.00 back. If my mind serves me right, she still owes me .33 cents. I could use that money for the bus! But, Welp, i didnt check the receipt until after I gave her a $1 tip and walked away. It frustrated me because she took my change and I basically paid $8 for a beer that was 7 something...

Hosted an event at Justice and would highly recommend this if you are planning an event or meeting and need to be near City Hall. Staff was easy to work with. There are plenty of food options for a Happy Hour party and drink prices were reasonable. The manager gave us extended Happy Hour pricing which made it an even more affordable option. When I arrived prior to our event, everyone at Justice was so helpful - working with me to find the perfect setup for our event... moving tables around and making sure I had a "pre-event" cocktail for the nerves (you know). We had a great time and the outdoor patio space was just perfect for what we needed. Would definitely book another event at Justice - or even just stop by for Happy Hour when I'm near City Hall.

Overpriced junk food... No descent appetizers are available. Came there for late dinner because we had no choice, was too late and windy outside. We wanted something light for dinner some nice appetizers but everything was junk....had to stick with that.. 2 wines 3 tacos and 1 burger cost us $80.... They didn`t had any fruits or berries for cocktails how sad is this....had to stick with the red wine which was good because I chose it. haha Tacos was ok, burger was ok, fries was good... I didn`t like to eat on the tray seems like we were on some terminal eating from our knees and had to put food on trays... or in McDonalds is popular ... Ambience 1/5 Food 3/5 Prices 1/5 Drinks 2/5 (no berries for cocktails) Interior 2/5 Overall experience 2/5....my next stop will be somewhere else

Probably the worst service I've ever had. Our server had two tables at once, didn't check up on us, there was no bartender, the beer was flat. Had to ask for lemon three times. The food wasn't the best out of four different plates the buffalo wings were the best.

Justice Tavern serves a solid American burger for 13.50 called the "barrister." It was filing and seasoned well. Classic taste that felt fresh from a backyard bbq on 4th of July. Happy hour menu looks reasonably priced otherwise it's your basic hotel food pricing. Drinks are fun and the bartender is nice. Check it out if you're on a business trip or craving something non-Asian in Little Tokyo.

Considered as a hotel restaurant alone, it is actually very good. They currently offer the sort of Covid-limited menu that so many restaurants have but the food and service is excellent. My problem is that, like the now-closed (for the moment anyway) Rendezvous lobby bar in the hotel lobby, they add an 18% "Other" charge to the tab. You are of course expected to add a full tip for the server as well. There is a good deal of chatter on social media about this age-old swindle. It seems to depend on the individual restaurant as to whether the server gets the 18% or not, or some portion of it or not. Some restaurants at least clearly label the charge and the server may even circle it and tell you about it. Justice Urban Tavern does neither.

Came here to meet up with a friend before we headed off to Pali Wine Co. for trivia night. We shared an order of the tater tots, I didn't order anything to drink since we were going to be drinking wine later. I personally did not like the food. It had that old elementary school type of nacho cheese you'd find at the school cafeteria or on home field baseball games -- yuck! I barely had any of the tots because I tried eating only the ones without cheese on them :( The interior feels like something you'd find at a hotel lobby -- I later found out that there was an actual hotel that was connected to place, though I am not sure if the decor, style, aesthetic was planned to be like that? Its not much of a lounge or bar feel in my opinion. The name makes sense to me now that I've seen the artwork on the walls -- the place is near City Hall... justice... and we are in DTLA! They tried to make this place a tavern, but its kind of a weird set up -- very hotel-y "I'm here alone on a business trip, who am I going to meet at the bar" vibes.

I've been here twice now and it's okay! Would I recommend this place? No, not really, but if you're in the area and looking for somewhere to go, it's decent. It's connected to the Hilton Hotel but open to anyone. You can either get in through the back where it says Justice, or through the lobby of the hotel on the other side. The first time I came was for Happy Hour and the menu was decent. I got the house wine for $5, and I believe they had 3 options of cocktails for $5 as well. I sat outside in a nice little patio area. Second time was for lunch. I sat inside and it was nice. It felt very commercial inside but like I said, it's connected to a hotel so that's to be expected. The food is pretty pricey IMO and honestly, not worth the price. I ordered the nacho fries which felt cheaply made. I was with my friend and my nacho fries came out about 3 minutes after we placed the order, while her food came out about 30 minutes after. I ended up just eating and finishing my meal before she even got hers :( She got the poke pole and tried the spinach artichoke dip and she said both were pretty mediocre. I would like to point out that our waitress, Anel, was very very sweet and made our experience better than it would have been!

I came for a private event. The food was so good! We had different bites from artichokes, mushrooms, chicken skewers, cheese balls, and drinks. The chef came out and started to tell us more about the food. It was a great experience. My group ended up staying out in the patio area. Once it got dark, the string lights turned on. It's a walking distance from city hall. For the restroom, you have to ask for a key. Overall, I had a great time there! The servers were attentive. It was also so close to the metro train so it worked out for me!

Good gastropub type place with interesting brews, cool art on wall, and clever legal word-play. A convenient place to grab a bite and drink when staying at the Doubletree L.A.- Downtown. I ordered up the Blue-crab cake sandwich lunch plate. It's pretty darn good. A lightly fried crab cake with butter lettuce. The toasted brioche bun is quite tasty. The plate includes a thick slice of marinated pickle (tangy & crunchy good), ripe tomato pieces, and a small serving of deliciously prepared cole slaw with very light dressing. You get a choice of fries or a small garden salad. We waited a bit longer for our meal due to a busy lunch crowd.. The kitchen was kind to lay out the fries too with the tasty crab sandwich. I really enjoyed the fresh garden salad.....especially the carrot shards. For drink, the Lightning - Thunderweizen with lemon wedge was a good choice (a wheat hefeweizen-type brew on tap). The host and our server were both polite and friendly. This Downtown L.A. tavern is worth a visit.

Title: How do you Screw Up a Spinach and Salmon Salad Decided to have a quick bite at Justice Urban Tavern at the Doubletree in DTLA. Simple enough, Spinach, Garbanzo Beans, cherry tomatoes, Salmon, sweet peppers, roasted corn and fried onions. Well, sad to say the chef forgot the garbanzos, the roasted corn was barely that, could hardly find the sweet peppers and the onions, an abomination of coagulated muck! Simply awful! Chef, go to cooking school! Learn how to grill corn and fry onions and remember ingredients!

Really nice Bar and Restaurant near the court house area and part of the hotel. The bar tender/waitress was really busy but handled the large crowd that rolled in on a Sunday afternoon. The food was meh. I ordered the Caprese sandwich with way too thick of bread for a sandwic. I ended up eating the insides. The potato fries were delicious! Mom order the chicken wrap and complained that the chicken tasted like it was store bought and pre-cubed for the filling. Overall it was a quick stop on an otherwise busy sightseeing day in LA, nice people, ok food.

3.5 stars. The food isn't bad. We went for Saturday breakfast. This is attached to the hotel but we were not hotel guests. We live in the neighborhood and we wanted to try it out. I got an omelet and it was good. I really liked the potatoes that came out with the omelet. Done just right, texture was perfect, just the right amount of salt. My boyfriend got steak and he asked for medium rare but it came out well done so he was not too happy. I did not like the service. Our waiter was friendly but everything came out so slowly from getting the menu to getting the food. When we sat there for a while waiting for the menu, we tried to ask a waitress serving a nearby table(we asked when she was done) and she said "just wait for your server to come by" without smiling at us.

When you walk into a restaurant connected to a Doubletree hotel you have certain expectations. Certain don't set the bar too high all I want to do is shove some food in my face and have a stiff drink after traveling all day kind of expectations. Even with that in mind, Justice was kind of meh. Between the corporate office chic decor that made me feel like I was at a conference and the MMA fight on while I was trying to eat I just wasn't feeling it. The burger was pretty tasty and there was some witty banter from the bartender, but that was it for redeeming qualities. A tip for the new manager who I heard was trying to spiff up the place: new stools. If you're 5'4" your legs are too short to touch the footrest at the bar and your stools don't have a place to rest your feet, so I had dangly legs like a 5 year old the whole time.

Surprised!! Not to be a snoot, but I have dined at 5 star/ 5 diamond locations, and being a Doubletree, I wasn't not expecting much except for the typical fanfare. Dinner: The dinner selections were Really good!! I got the Fish and Chips and my wife got something with Octopus. One of the best Fish and chips I've had. Also, the tartar sauce was really good. The presentation being in a bento box was also different but fitting considering the location. Breakfast: Nothing much to write about here as it was more of the same with other hotel breakfast buffets. My son and I did enjoy the omelette station however.

Breakfast food has a good variety, from American food to Asian food. The fresh fruits are in particular. Raspberry, blue berry and pears are always there to add a sense of uniqueness. Services can be better. Waiters/waitresses take time to bring coffee. The floor is sticky and the bottom of cups sometimes are sticky too.

I have to travel to Los Angeles fairly often for work and I always seem to end up at the DoubleTree in downtown LA. This place is in the same building and is open late, so, it is always convenient to stop in for dinner. I don't need to explain that if you're staying at the hotel, it's terribly convenient to be able to eat on the ground floor of the place you're staying. The ambiance is low-key and casual, but still fancy enough if you were looking for a place for a date. There are several TVs tuned mostly to sports, but some news channels as well. The wait staff are kind and attentive and genuinely seem interested in what you'd like. I don't have to flag them down to get drink refills or to take my order. And, since I'm usually traveling for work, I don't usually linger. These guys are always good about promptly bringing the check. It's no fuss, quality food and is definitely worth checking out.

Since I stay at the double tree 2 weeks out of the month I've probably tried everything on this odd menu. I don't have a lot of good things to say really. The food is god awful...simply put. I usually have to send it back or it gets comp'd. I've stopped eating there and find elsewhere. Most of the staff are pretty awesome though (minus the chefs). Some of the bartenders are awesome as well (there seems to be an ever rotating door and many of them are complete shite). The breakfast is exactly the same thing every morning for the last 5 years. Note to the GM and executive chef - stop trying to be super fancy and get the basics correct first. Steak shouldn't be full of tendon and so chewy a dog could eat on it for a month. Chicken and fingerlings shouldn't be simultaneously dry and drowning in liquid. Steamed vegetables shouldn't break your teeth to chew on them. I would fire the executive chef and start over but I'm feeling fairly Gordon Ramseyish right now. I guess I'm expecting too much from a hotel restaurant but when someone just wants wings and a beer, they have to go elsewhere.

This is my third night here for dinner (business trip); the bartender on Monday was very nice and for the last two nights I've had Vanessa (in the restaurant area). Sweet and efficient waitress! As for the food, I don't recommend the fish and chips unless you like grease but the fish is so good (without the grease coating). The chicken Caesar salad is perfectly made!! The buffalo chicken wings never disappoint. I've ordered room service breakfast - I requested sourdough and revived white bread. I requested a Denver omelette and received an omelette with spinach...it was good.

Remember Yelpers, three stars is A-OK. I'll make this short, we were in the hotel working and I had to order quickly and got the club sandwich. I say it was filling, it tasted excellent and came with a boat load of great fries and I'm not a fry guy. I would certainly go back and order something else. I noticed a pasta dish that was served to a table next to us and it looked great and a huge serving too!

With the explosion of gastropubs over the last 6 years, it's hard to distinguish a great one from an average one. This place fits the bill of "average". Decent size bar with ample seating. Larger than your typical gastropub located at the nothern corner of Weller Court. Typical average bar food of wings, calamari, and entrees such as steak, fish n' chips, grilled salmon. The bar serves local craft brews along with cocktails. Prices here are about above average for what you get. So, it's a bit pricey. Service here was nice but forgetful with drinks and late entrees. We were served appetizers and they forgot to provide us dishes and no one in sight ending up with bones stacked like a high rise tower. If you can't find a spot to hang in DTLA and can't find anything, this place would be an okay place to hang out.

I wanted to like this little place, since it's nearby where everyone works out there in Little Tokyo/Civic area, but it just didn't deliver. My friend suggested it, so we went (after experiencing it briefly from an event we had there recently). When it first opened, I always saw a lot of people in the patio; it was crowded for probably the first two weeks to a month. After that, it's not crowded at all; not empty, but not crowded - that should have been the red flag. Also, my coworker told me she had lunch there and was very disappointed. I should have listened to her. We got there and decided to sit in the patio. There was one patio table with a large group of people that apparently all worked together and were loud. Yes, that's to be expected. (I was hoping for a normal outing, with normal to average noise, not TGIF noise, but whatevers). When the waiter finally served all of them after several times, he finally came to us (keeping in mind, they were only a group of 5-6 people). He then took our order and served our drinks; That was the last we saw of him. He was focused on that group of people next to us. (Oh Yay, lucky us) :(...... Not to mention, he didn't bother telling us that Happy Hour was ending & asking if he could take any last orders; He mentioned it to & was allover that large group. I also noticed another small group of 3 people who appeared to be friends who worked together and another table was a couple. They also got ignored like we did. :( My husband came an hour later and joined us. And after he had his drink, we wanted to close out. That's where it ends.....on a sour note, because it took forever to get that done. As a matter of fact, I think we ended up going inside and asking one of the other waiters if they could do it, but they insisted & ensured they'll tell him to do it promptly. After waiting longer than we wanted to (not to mention we all lived far and wanted to get going and be home), he finally came by. I was so upset, since it was me that was treating and it was not a treat whatsoever. The beers were good - they were all draft. My friends Mojito was pretty much watered down when she got it. The appetizers weren't good either - from the time we came before for the event I mentioned earlier was way better. It was just overall too much expectations and nada, but a bad experience. I normally say in most of my reviews that I'll be back, but not here, even if they are inviting or paying, just once was enough.

Looking for a new spot to chill with the homies in Little Tokyo? Assemble at Justice Urban Tavern. I took my boys here to celebrate the birthday of the Notorious S-H-I-L-E-N and everyone loved it. This is a bar that opened up two nights ago with much fanfare. It is at the base of the Doubletree Hiilton in Little Tokyo. Unfortunately I was unable to visit until last night. It happened to be a perfect stop on a whirlwind tour of Little Tokyo. Justice has a nice vibe and everyone was friendly from what I have seen so far. My party was greeted at the door by Katie's radiant smile. We were taken care of by the night manager Ivan and another server. Seating in the bar was decent, but if you want enough space/elbow room/seats for a larger party, then you may want to take to the outside seating. there were nice looking granite rocks that doubled as lounge chairs. The drinks were strong as a tiger. They get pretty creative too. We asked for a "flaming kamikaze" (with no idea what the heck it was) and the birthday boy loved it! Justice is a decent bar and they will take care of you. Justice can easily become a go-to spot for the locals. Not visiting will be...an INJUSTICE! Haha

Lovely ambiance, pretty good service, but a bit too pricey. After a day of walking around Los Angeles a friend and I finally decided to have lunch a little after 2:00pm, unfortunately happy hour starts at 3pm. We each took our time to go to the restroom, chatted, checked our phones, slowly read the menu...tick tock Finally at around 2:45pm the waiter says, I'll go ahead and take your order, no need to wait. I wanted the grilled bratwurst which is only on the happy hour menu anyway, so I really had no choice. It was nicely presented, one sliced bratwurst with 2 pretzel breadsticks atop sauerkraut, a small container of coleslaw, cheese sauce, and grainy mustard. Also had some fries, cuz I love fries! Everything was tasty and matched well. My friend had a fish sandwich and a beer. The total was $40 for happy hour for two fairly basic dishes, so I won't be in a rush to go again.

I came in a few months ago with my wife & her coworkers for a quick lunch. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant, as well as the fresh, classy decor. The place was mostly empty, only a few other tables were occupied, but I was not surprised since it was a weekday. I was mildly disappointed at the friendliness, or lack thereof, of our waitress, as she seemed annoyed to have to be at work, and more specifically, to serve our group. I have a theory that she was less than pleased due to the type of employ of the group, but again, it's just a theory, so I digress. Other than that, my experience was great. I ordered an excellent chicken salad, with sweet pickles for an added zest. It was a hearty salad and it just hit the spot. I believe everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. I definitely consider it a cool place to hang out. The bar area looked inviting, perhaps for a few drinks before spending the night in DTLA. I hope to come back & try it again.

A large restaurant/bar with a great happy hour deal ($5 draft beer 3-6pm). Right next to the government buildings in DTLA this is the perfect place for our tax dollars to get put back into circulation. I came in here after taking care of property tax and needed to drown my bi-annual sorrows. It has a quiet time between lunch and when the county workers get out. After that it picks up a bit. Probably a good jumping off point before hitting the Edison around the corner. Parking: as always YMMV in downtown. Some street parking but check the time limits. Lots can be expensive before 5 pm.

Named after all the law officials in the area and working not far from it, Justice doesn't have too bad of a happy hour. I've tried Deviled Eggs, Mushroom Flatbread and Fries. The presentation of the dishes are appealing and the food is delicious too, so you can't complain. The serves are also pleasant. Bad part? If you're not by the area parking would suck. Would I come here again? Sure, why not.

So, I stumbled upon this awesome trendy eatery while at a conference in the beautiful Double Tree hotel next door. What a pleasure to have met Jason, one of the waiters. I tell you he is a leader, and he is Greek- mythology could be real, how lucky were the Argonauts! Ok-back to now, perfect name for such a wonderful being. He was energetic and interested and cared about the menu and their offerings. And goodness was he right! My experience, hence suggestions: Great selection of alcohol, pick something... I chose beer. The bread is fresh and rustic and delicious, with that nutty butter! So start with that, then I had the cauliflower harissa - a novelty for me. And then, I dared to have the paella over noodles! A bit pricey ($28) just for that, but so worth it, and could definitely share. If you're in downtown, stop by. If you're not, make a trip and go!

ORIGINAL POST: If you're a woman of color, don't expect to be treated like all the (white) male guests there. I was forced to greet good morning by the men who worked there, spoken to demeaningly, not offered a place to sit or any complimentary coffee while waiting for my food (which took 50% longer than what was given as an estimate), was talked about behind my back on my way out, and then hung up on when confronted via phone. If you're a female hotel guest and looking for breakfast, Starbucks is definitely the better option if you want to have a hassle-free morning. UPDATED POST: Without dismissing my experience, I can say that the management here is quite respectable. After writing to the restaurant manager about my experience, I received a phone call that same day and invited to return for breakfast the following week in the hopes of creating a more comfortable experience. And it worked. The staff were extremely friendly and kind, like how I'd seen them do during my first experience, but had just not received on my first visit. It's good to know that the management not only invests in their customers, but in their team development as well. Not to mention, food is quite good. There's still work to be done, but I feel like I'll give this place another go.

Went here twice. The first day we sat for 10 minutes waiting for someone, while 4 staff people milled about, plus the manager. No one ever helped, so we went to the bar. The bartender was excellent (sort of tall guy with dark brown hair and a mustache). Wings were great. Went back today. Ordered food, server stopped by once and no more after that. All-in-all, the service just sucks. The bartender is awesome and so is Vlad., so they basically carry this place.

A wonderful breakfast buffet, and delicious dinner menu. This was like the best hotel restaurant ever. It stands on its own, with a great outdoor seating patio that is a sanctuary in the concrete jungle of LA. We loved the "not a kale salad" with spinach and fresh Pecorino. The Lamb burger, and their regular beef burger were also delicious. Spinach side order was super tasty, with just the right amount of garlic and lemon.

For Downtown residents in the Civic Center this is the best choice for breakfast. Their $12 eggs, bacon, toast and potatoes that we love can't be beat.They respond favorably to special requests. Like wise, their lunch and dinners are tasty and reasonably priced. We especially enjoy eating outside in their dog friendly patio which has heaters for comfort. Our family always has a great time there. They serve good size cocktails and have a wide choice of craft beers and wines. JUT is simply heads and shoulders better than any other restaurant in the neighborhood. Allan and Cheryl Downtown LA

Usually when I stay in hotel, I try NOT to eat in the hotel restaurant so I can enjoy local places, but in this case Justice Urban Tavern IS the local place. Love the vibe and the very friendly service thanks to the General Manager Paul Trevino. I've eaten breakfast and dinner here, but Happy Hour is my favorite. Their beer, wine, cocktail and food choices all for under $10 will satisfy every taste - I personally love the Cabernet on tap. Will make this my go-to place every time I'm in LA.

Had a great dinner and breakfast here (Stayed overnight at the Double Tree. The service was top notch in the evening with Kyle -- he went above and beyond to make it right when we ran into a bit of a snag. The food was quite tasty (Ribeye and eggs for breakfast, creme brulee and lobster rolls for dinner; I was on vacation...) The art on the wall was quite homey, and the coffee was piping hot. I've eaten in a lot of hotel restaurants and this was definitely one of the best.

I highly recommend their breakfast buffet if you're staying in the Doubletree that this restaurant is attached too! Tons of fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, an omelet station, and more. I came back later for lunch and was also impressed with my meal there, along with their bread pudding for dessert.
