The 1914-vintage former bank, designed by the great Daniel Burnham, emerged from a $400 million investment as thoroughly class-act. I was in town for the Marathon. It was a great location and the service was fantastic. The first two nights my room was not great. The staff bent over backwards making things right and getring me into a great room. It was much appreciated. The lobby bar also had fantastic food choices and taste. Totally unexpected, but very satisfying

When you just can't get it right. Here's the deal, permanently on my Marriott record it says feather free. When I checked in I confirmed feather free. Got to the hotel room about 9:30 p.m. and not feather free. They said oh we'll just change out your pillows, that doesn't work everything needs to be changed out. Moved us to another room guess what not feather-free either. Their solution was to change out the sheet with nothing the comforter with something that did not fit the bed way too small and then throw a blanket from Target on top of the entire situation. Not necessarily what you would expect out of a JW Marriott. The managers response will give you $175 worth of hotel credit. Simply sloppy and not expected from a property that should be a five-star property. You've got to do better there's other options in the city such as the Renaissance and Hotel Chicago that don't mess up like this and that treat you better. Very disappointing all in all.

Our favorite part about our trip to Chicago was easily this hotel! The service, the food, the rooms, everything was a 10/10. The beds are also some of the comfiest beds of any place we’ve ever stayed. The room service also came quickly and was absolutely delicious. The two bartenders downstairs were so incredibly kind and attentive. We love, love, love it here and cannot wait to return!!

The staff was friendly and amazing. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The building maintenance was very nice. The hallways were clean and everything worked as expected. The location was perfect for walking for sightseeing or catching the train. Would definitely stay again.

I recently stayed at this hotel and I can tell you I’m never going back. Now the bar was nice downstairs and Thermon is amazing by the way. The room service on the other hand, not so good. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and fries. My sandwich was not cooked all the way through and on top of that it caused me to have food poisoning. I woke up at 2:30am sweating and hurling over the toilet multiple times. It was even worse because I had an 8am meeting that same morning. I reported the issue and loss prevention came to do a full report. I asked them if I would be charged for the food and the loss prevention rep told me they would talk to front desk and that I should not be charged. Upon checkout the manger came out and removed the food charge and apologized for what happen. He printed me a new receipt reflecting the food had been removed. Well 2 hours later I received an email from that same manager advising he reapplied the food charge to my bill and someone would be in contact for next steps. Now I’ve been a lot of places and I have never heard of someone taking something g off the bill in your presence and then adding it back on after I’ve left the hotel. I’m big on customer service so I guess it’s safe to say upon traveling to Chicago for business or pleasure, I will NOT be staying at this establishment.

Our room was spacious and amenities great. However I noticed stains on the bed sheets and the towels were very old. The gym was great and had all the necessary equipment, however, jacuzzi had mold. Overall we enjoyed the location, food, and service. Please throughly clean bedding, pool and jacuzzi.

The service here is great. The lobby and work area are clean and well kept. The problem I have is that fact that don’t offer free WI-FI…just include it in your price and call it free. It’s unheard of to not offer it. To make a separate payment makes it look your nickel and diming. (Not a good look) A Minor issue that I ran into is that there isn’t a microwave in the room. Also, while most of the hotel room was clean there was mold in the shower. A little bleach goes a long way. The next time we are in the city we will probably look elsewhere solely for the WiFI.
