Where to Stay in Hanoi?

"A sleek, contemporary‑and‑futuristic stay that goes beyond the conventional hotel, this property serves as a testament to Hanoi’s modernity, offering views of the National Convention Center rather than the Old Quarter. There’s still a touch of colonial charm, and the overall polish mirrors chic establishments in cities like Singapore and Shanghai. The spa and fitness centre are exceptionally well‑appointed, featuring a breathtaking indoor pool, while dining ranges from Japanese and Cantonese cuisine to the vibrant Cool Cats Jazz Club. With a lively atmosphere and contemporary‑classic leanings, it’s an excellent choice for couples and honeymooners seeking a romantic getaway, and it also caters strongly to business travellers thanks to its location within business districts, high‑speed internet access, comprehensive business facilities, and luxury amenities that balance relaxation with productivity." - Pruepat 'Maprang' Songtieng

"Gallic Flair at French Grill Although the new JW Marriott Hotel is slightly inconveniently located in a new business district a long way from the centre of Hanoi , it is is worth making the trip there for this fancy restaurant alone. As the name suggests, there's an emphasis on French methods here. However, there's nothing fiddly about the stunning steaks and seafood morsels grilled by the expert chefs."

"The JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi is, among other things, a symbol of the Vietnamese capital’s aspirations as an ultra-modern, cosmopolitan city. It’s a contemporary, even somewhat futuristic structure, overlooking not the Old Quarter but the National Convention Center. And if there are echoes of colonial style in its interiors, they’re faint ones — it’s reminiscent instead of the modern luxury hotels of other East Asian capitals, from Singapore to Shanghai. An expansive spa and fitness center includes a remarkable indoor pool, and among its bars and restaurants are Japanese and Cantonese options." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed at the JW Marriott Hanoi for six nights and had an excellent experience. Upon check-in, we received a lovely upgrade to a Lake View Room. The Guest Relations team, especially the lady who escorted us to the room, was warm and welcoming. The room itself was spacious, modern, and well-designed, with a beautiful open bathroom and great views. The hotel is large and well-maintained. The lounge as well the Breakfast was excellent - with a huge variety of food, great coffee, and top-notch pastries. Overall, a first-class property with great service and strong attention to detail. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the JW Marriott Hanoi for three nights and had an excellent experience. Even before arrival, the hotel sent a detailed pre-arrival email asking about preferences and airport transfer - a very professional and thoughtful touch. Upon check-in, we received a lovely upgrade to a Lake View Room. The Guest Relations team, especially the lady who escorted us to the room, was warm and welcoming. A birthday cake and pralines were waiting in the room - a really nice gesture. The room itself was spacious, modern, and well-designed, with a beautiful open bathroom and great views. The hotel is large and well-maintained, featuring a big indoor pool and a fully equipped gym. The concierge team did a fantastic job organizing a private city tour on short notice, and everyone at the entrance was consistently friendly and professional. Breakfast was excellent - a huge variety of international and local options, great coffee, and top-notch pastries. The Chocolate Bar is a real highlight. While the hotel isn’t in the Old Quarter, Grab makes getting around easy. Overall, a first-class property with great service and strong attention to detail. Highly recommended.

Came for Christmas holidays and the Hotel was so beautifully decorated. The hotel restaurants were amazing and the food incredible. Highly recommend the JW MARRIOTT, good for couples or family. Only down side and it was minor. They are replacing the roof and the workers started at 7am with making all the noise. The hotel should be more attentive to the start time. Highly recommend this hotel. Like and follow for more amazing places to see and visit around the World.

Amazing hotel!! + Lovely ambience, very lux feel, + large/roomy feel throughout the hotel, grand lobby, huge rooms + Executive lounge is impressive.....huge selection of food at breakfast, high tea and evening hors d'oeuvres, which in reality has large enough selection for passing along as dinner. We are vegetarians of Indian origin and had Indian selections at both breakfast and at dinner in the lounge + Service is amazing. Everyone is always so willing to help and so polite. Hospitality is a culture here......special shout out to Simon (SY) in the lounge. He always has a smile on his face and is very willing to go above and beyond to help. - Location is a bit far from Old town but the hotel runs a complimentary one way shuttle to the town at 9, 1, 6 so that helps a bit. Taxi/Rideshare is super cheap but it does take a bit away. That said if I were to do this again I would stay here as we would never find this quality hotel in the Old town area.

I have to be a bit critical here. Service and hospitality at this property is at an elite level for Vietnam. Bonvoy member benefits are recognized provided in full. The brekfast spread is impressive. taste and quality, however, not so much. If you're coming for vacation, this hotel is far away from the main tourist area, the Old Quarter. During peak traffic it can take an hour by taxi. Also, I was notified ahead of time that the fitness center would be closed for the first day (day if check in) of my 3 night stay. OK fine, I thought. However it was closed for my entire stay. Personally, a good fitness center and sauna are significant factors when choosing accommodations I'm willing to pay for good facilities with the intention of fully utilizing them during my stay. Had I been aware that the fitness center and sauna would be closed my entire stay, I might've booked elsewhere. I have to deduct a star from the service portion for that miscommunication.

I stayed at JW Marriott Hanoi for a 3D2N business trip and had a truly enjoyable experience. The hotel is modern, spacious, and beautifully designed. During my stay, the hotel was hosting a Christmas Village event, which added a festive and charming atmosphere. The decorations, music, and overall setup created a warm holiday vibe — a pleasant surprise during a business trip. My room was comfortable and well-appointed, and the service throughout the stay was excellent. Staff members were attentive, professional, and always ready to help. The hotel’s facilities and ambience make it a great choice for both business and leisure. Overall, a delightful stay and I would happily return on my next visit to Hanoi.

.|We spent three wonderful nights at this hotel and were thoroughly impressed. While it is located away from the hustle and bustle of central Hanoi, the trade-off is more than worth it for the stunning, tranquil grounds. Our rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, and offered a truly magnificent view.|The breakfast buffet is a must-try, featuring an extensive selection of Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, Chinese, Indian, and Western cuisines—all of excellent quality. We also dined at the Chinese and Japanese restaurants and found both to be outstanding.|A special thank you to the entire team for their hospitality. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and professional, going above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
