Where to Stay in Hanoi?

"JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi offers a contemporary and futuristic ambiance with views of the National Convention Center. "Gallic Flair at French Grill Although the new JW Marriott Hotel is slightly inconveniently located in a new business district a long way from the centre of Hanoi , it is is worth making the trip there for this fancy restaurant alone. As the name suggests, there's an emphasis on French methods here. However, there's nothing fiddly about the stunning steaks and seafood morsels grilled by the expert chefs."

"The JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi is, among other things, a symbol of the Vietnamese capital’s aspirations as an ultra-modern, cosmopolitan city. It’s a contemporary, even somewhat futuristic structure, overlooking not the Old Quarter but the National Convention Center. And if there are echoes of colonial style in its interiors, they’re faint ones — it’s reminiscent instead of the modern luxury hotels of other East Asian capitals, from Singapore to Shanghai. An expansive spa and fitness center includes a remarkable indoor pool, and among its bars and restaurants are Japanese and Cantonese options." - Tablet Hotels

We have stayed in Marriotts around the United States and a few outside the US, and this location by far was the very best. They really gave us a master class on how luxury hotel stays should look, feel, and taste. ||Upon arrival, we received the usual greeting upon exiting our vehicle and were escorted to the front desk. There was a seamless handoff to the desk, no wait check-in, followed by an escort to our suite with a tour given by Hiep, our incredible receptionist. The extraordinary service continued throughout our 5-day stay. In fact, we were initially staying there for 3 days, and extended our stay because of our experience. ||The food was amazing. We had drinks and snacks at the JW Cafe and dessert at the JW Patisserie. The executive lounge was superb, and the Wong Chi Ming restaurant was exquisite. There we had to crab, and my wife said it was the best she's ever had. I must also mention my friend, the awesome Viet Ahn, our server, who introduced me to Vietnamese egg coffee. Ahn's personality and service were amazing as well. Overall, after 35 countries, this was by far our best hotel experience ever!

What an enjoyable stay! I chose this hotel on my way through Hanoi at the end of the trip, and it was a perfect choice. After a string of smaller local hotels, the exceptional comfort and quality of the JW was a perfect reset. I was upgraded to a suite, which was far more than I needed, since I spent most of the time lounging in the superbly luxurious bed. The food options were very good as well, with local dishes done authentically and the breakfast buffet a perfect example of the unbeatable asian-region JW quality. Service was personal and professional, and the executive lounge had a decent tea and happy hour. Would absolutely stay again.

One of the best luxury hotels in Hanoi! The balcony room is perfect for smokers — finally, a place where you can enjoy the view and your bad habits at the same time. The scenery from the room is so good it almost made me forget about my emails. The breakfast buffet? Easily top two of all the hotels I’ve ever stayed at — and I’ve done enough “research” to be considered an expert. I’ll definitely come back if I have time (and appetite).

Highlights: |Club Lounge (Wide selections of international and Vietnamese food/drinks. It was a nice spot to relax and recharge)|Breakfast buffet (LOVED! So many options!)|Gym was fully equipped and clean|Rooms were clean, well-maintained and spacious. The lake view is relaxing and tranquil.||The only drawback is the location. The hotel is about 30 min drive from the center. But it|wouldn't deter me from staying at this property again.||The best part about the hotel is the staff. The phenomenal service is consistent throughout the hotel: from the lounge, to the concierge, to housekeeping. Everyone was eager to help and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. I'd like to recognize the following employees who truly made my stay great. |Phuong at Exec Lounge helped with our request for early check in.|Sy and Linh at the Exec Lounge were amazing. So professional! Nothing was a bother or too much of an ask.|Tan at Concierge coordinated a laundry service freeing up time for us to explore the city.|Huyen took care of us at breakfast everyday. She is so kind and genuine.|Hang took care of our room daily and did a wonderful job. We came back from a hot day exploring the city to a clean and refreshed and fully stocked room. That's a great feeling!!||Thank you JWM Hanoi for a wonderful stay. We hope to come back in the near future!

It's probably the only hotel I stayed all my years of business travel that I have only praise and appreciation for the room, the service and the food provided by this spectacular JW Marriott in Hanoi. The look of the building is simply majestic and futuristic. The view from the executive lounge is breathtaking. The service at the breakfast hall is more than just treating the customers as family. The spaciousness of the hall and variety of food makes one feel so pampered. Worth every penny spent here.

What a luxury experience from Marriott in Hanoi. From the moment you walk into the hotel, every element of the design and the service is designed to make you feel welcomed and pampered. Besides the incredible views of the lake, the highlight for me was the hospitality of everyone working at the hotel, I felt like totality. The Lounge for Bonvoy members is well appointed, the gym and the sauna was a great place to get in a workout and a sweat. I also had a chance to indulge in the spa, and for the fraction of what I pay in london I had a 90 luxurious massage that was a perfect way to unwind. The breakfast buffet in the JW Cafe was tasty, and the Chinese restaurant on the lobby floor was very high end and extremely delicious!

One of the worlds best! The only time you will be disappointed is as you drive away. Have stayed at this hotel since it was new and everything is just consistently excellent. Great restaurants and rooms and the staff are consistently exceptional. If you are going to Hanoi do all you can to spend at least a couple nights at the JW Marriott, you will not regret it. ||Only had one night on this visit but had a great meal in the Japanese restaurant. Great room and the staff everywhere including the lounge front desk every body you see will do all they can to make sure everything is take care of.||Thank you for a great stay.

So we visited for two nights in August as a family. The hotel is fine but nothing notable. The room was spacious but not overly so. We were particularly disappointed with the Yum Cha Package that we purchased - and was meant to be a dim sum breakfast. The food was great quality but there was basically about three pieces of dim sum each - instead congee and noodles were served to bulk things out. Given the quality and price of the setting - we really wish we’d instead gone for the JW Cafe buffet. Swimming pool is also disappointing - quite busy and not enough space for the kids. Staff were friendly throughout, but overall very disappointed and lacking the touches we normally expect at a JW Marriott and as Gold members.
