Yelp
Been here a few times and there are some hits and misses. I loved the atmosphere when I first walked in, it was inviting with lots of lights and colors. The walls were very colorful and it really catches your eye. I loved how the restaurant played Kpop music as well! It adds to the authentic feels of a Korean restaurant. The employees are pretty pleasant and nice. I never have an issue with customer service here. It's a bit of a drive for me since I live all the way across town, but it's worth it when I'm craving a Korean corn dog. They also have a food truck that I've occasionally seen at the Riverside Arts Market.
Here are my ratings, reviews, and opinions on the following menu items that I've tried:
Thai tea bubble tea: 5/10 - I was so excited to see that they didn't use the powdered tea! I was able to see layers of the milk and the tea but upon my first sip, it tasted kind of bland and watered down. I couldn't taste the distinct flavor of the Thai tea at all and the tapioca balls (boba) had no flavor at all. The texture of the tapioca balls were there but the flavor wasn't. I was really disappointed about the bubble tea. I think they have room to improve it though.
Korean corn dogs: I've tried the hot Cheetos one (8/10), the gochuchang and spicy mayo (7/10), and the ramen one (9/10) and all of them were really good and huge for the price point. I wished they had the potato covered kind but it's okay! These will satisfy my cravings! I love the ramen one the most as it was sweet from the sugar dusting on top and salty from the ramen bits. It gave that sweet and salty flavor in each bite! The Korean corn dogs are all half mozzarella and half hot dog, which I prefer because I feel like when it's all cheese, it can be a bit heavy and too much on the stomach. The hot Cheetos one was really good too and I enjoyed it! The gochuchang and spicy mayo one has good flavors but I could only stomach two bites as the sauces were too strong for me personally. All the Korean corn dogs that I've tried have all been fried to perfection and I always achieve that beautiful cheese pull.
Spicy pork bop combo: 7/10 - the pork had a nice flavor but wasn't spicy and a little dry. All the bop combos came with shredded cabbage with a sauce (spicy mayo?), japchae noodles, a dumpling, and rice. The noodles and dumpling were delicious but I must say for the bop bowls, the rice ratio is off. I feel that if they would half the amount of rice given, it would have been perfect.
Beef Bulgogi bop combo: I didn't try this one but my husband did and he ate it all minus some rice so I'm guessing it was really good!
Beef Bibimbap: My sister ordered this and she really loved it! She usually doesn't finish her food and she finished the whole bowl. She loved the combination of flavors and had no complaints.
Takoyaki: 7/10 - pretty delicious and they even added the kewpie mayo and bonito flakes! I wished there were more octopus in the takoyaki balls but nonetheless, it was good and the flavors were great!
Overall, I would definitely come back to try more things from the menu! I think this is a pretty solid place to grab some Korean cuisine and the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get.
