The 10 Best Fried Chicken Sandwiches in LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"The K-Chicken Burger at Chimmerlier in Koreatown looks straight out of a magazine: it’s big, its pickles are oddly symmetrical, and the sesame buns are so glossy you’d think a food stylist gave them a touch-up. But beyond being camera ready, this sandwich is a balanced masterpiece of flavor and texture. The dry rub on the thick, crackly chicken gives a BBQ-like smokiness, dashi aioli adds depth, and a briny slaw brightens everything up. Then there’s the secret ingredient: a single perilla leaf that hangs out beneath the chicken, adding a whiff of floral sweetness you didn’t know you needed." - sylvio martins, garrett snyder, arden shore, brant cox

A very nice Korean bar in Monrovia I'm surprised why they haven't gone viral yet. The vibe and decor are very k-pop. The food was very flavorful and the happy hours was very worth it. I got wings and snacks for reduced price in happy hours. The alcoholic drinks are also cheaper. Kimchi fried rice and chicken wings are very delicious. Servers are very friendly and happy!

Looking for a fun night out with great food in 626? K-Chicken & Beer is a Korean pub that has chicken wings and cocktails. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by vibrant neon lights and K-pop music, creating a lively vibe! We got their new truffle waffle fries (a must-try), so-dduk so-dduk (skewers with rice cake, fish cake, and sausage), kimchi pork tofu (so good), and soy garlic wings. The wings were crispy and perfectly marinated. Our top picks were the truffle waffle fries and kimchi pork tofu! Now, onto the drinks! Make sure to try their cocktails. We had the All Blue and Rizzmelon, both of which were refreshing, sweet, and strong! And for a bit of fun, there's the infused soju game - for just $5 a shot, you roll a dice to determine which drink you'll get. It's a fun and exciting way to try some unique drinks! The service was excellent too! Han was super helpful with recommendations and fun to chat with, and the other waitresses frequently checked in on us. Overall, we really enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and drinks. It's a great spot for a laid-back, casual night out!

I had an amazing dining experience at K-chicken & Beer! The Supreme Pizza with golden crust, stuffed with sweet potatoes, was a delightful twist on a classic favorite. The 10-piece chicken wings with soy garlic sauce were perfectly crispy and flavorful. The Spicy Bulgogi Fries added a delicious kick, and the Rose Tteokbokki was rich and creamy with just the right amount of spice. The combination of flavors was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. Highly recommend this place for a delicious and unique meal!

We had dinner here on Monday and had a great time. There is a lot of street parking. The restaurant itself is charming and warm and inviting. They have a lot of offerings on their Happy Hour. We got a couple of cocktails. The espresso Seoul King was a great caffeine hit. The POG Champion was fruity and delicious and you couldn't taste the alcohol. We also did the infused soju game. For $5 you get to roll a die and the corresponding number is a flavor shot. We both rolled the same number and got a green tea soju shot. It was so refreshing. We got the bulgogli fries. It was a large portion. The bulgolgi was flavorful and the runny egg was perfect. The Korean chicken was crispy and delicious. We got the K Mild sauce which was sweet, had a little heat and we couldn't stop eating it. The seafood udon was amazing. The noodles combined with the seafood and black bean sauce was perfection. The garlic chili chicken fried rice went so well with the seafood udon. The heat from the chicken was really good. Great food and service will bring us back again.

Google
The fried chicken here is absolutely fantastic! You can tell the food is made from scratch with fresh ingredients—the chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The staff is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the dining experience even better. Whether you're a fried chicken lover or just looking for some great comfort food, this place is a must-try! I'll definitely be coming back.

Google
Supreme pizza with golden crust is amazing! Rose Tteokbokki is very creamy and cheesy! Spicy Bulgogi fries are so special, recommend it if you like spicy and fries! Chicken wings are so good too, K-mild flavor is sweet and spicy with garlic flavor. Service is so good, they checked our table frequently! The vibe is so nice for either a bar or a restaurant!

Google
Food was flavorful. The appetizer sampler was nice, but the seafood soup we got was so so. Soup has good flavor, but the seafood used was frozen and not that fresh. We ordered non spicy. It was still spicy because of the black pepper. Mussels had some sand in them too. Not enough squid in there as well. Interesting that they used wood ear mushroom. Bulgogi fried rice was not bad. The meat was overcooked and dry though. Strawberry tea was watered down from all the ice. Could've been stronger.

Check in: Check in on Yelp if you'd like a free choco-pie! Parking: Parking can be tricky on the weekend, especially during dinner times. There is free street parking. You can try your luck with parallel parking, but we parked in the Vons lot and walked over. Ambiance/Environment: We came here to celebrate one of our cousin's birthday. We wanted to dine somewhere casual with a fun ambiance. Music isn't too loud. This restaurant is also great for large groups. They have plenty of tables and bar seating. Service: I failed to catch our server's name, but he was amazing. He checked on us a couple times and constantly refilled our waters. I asked if they did anything special for birthdays, and unfortunately they do not. But at the end of our meal, our server surprised my cousin by decorating the choco-pie with whip cream and drizzled with chocolate syrup. Such a thoughtful gesture! What we ordered: 1) Boneless chicken half & half lemon pepper and honey garlic - The boneless chicken was cooked throughly. I felt the lemon pepper could've been seasoned a bit more. It tasted as if it was slightly seasoned with lemon pepper. The honey garlic was delicious; it tasted exactly as it sounds and not too sweet. 2) K-spicy ramen - I was very shocked with the price $11.95. This is a good amount for one person. This is very basic ramen with the usual garnish and add ons. The soup wasn't too spicy in my opinion .. depending on your definition of spice. 3) Bulgogi Fries - I'd prefer more bulgogi, but this was my favorite dish! The fries were crispy, the egg was cooked well, and the bulgogi was savory! 4) Sweet Potato Pizza - My cousins completely devoured this pizza, so I didn't get a chance to try it. But since it was gone in 5 seconds, I assume they enjoyed it and it was their favorite. 5) Mozzarella Sticks - If you never had fried mozzarella, this is your chance. Fair warning on the endless cheese pull. Pricing: Prices are pretty $$$ average nowadays. We were excited for happy hour @3-6, but disappointed to find out they don't honor happy hour on holiday weekends. We visited on a Saturday of Memorial weekend. Other than that, we were able to share everything we ordered. Portions are large enough.

Yelp
Girl's Night Out?!?! Great Vibes, Food, Service and Something New! Check out @k.chicken.beer in Old Town Monrovia . This hype is real and the food is crazy yummy especially if you love Korean Fried Chicken and anything with Cheese. They are like the cheese melt experts! My rose topokki was addictive, along with the shrimp fried rice, chicken sandwiches and you can get me started on the chicken because it was perfection! They got over 12 different flavors and it's all so saucy and satisfying. I love the vibes and music . It makes you wanna hang out all night long. My girls and I had a great time and can't wait to hang out again! Where should we go next! Visual review: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DIIG55HPVpq/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Yelp
This is definitely the spot to eat at if you're in downtown Monrovia! The wings are perfectly crisped and bursting with flavor, each bite delivers a satisfying crunch that gives way to layers of seasoning. The spicy Bulgogi fries, however, might just be the crown jewel. The Bulgogi itself is of outstanding quality--tender, juicy, and oh so BOMB. The heat is balanced, never overpowering. Service can be inconsistent, but the food more than compensates. A true sleeper hit fortunate for those of us who prefer our culinary treasures undiscovered.

Yelp
Staff is welcoming upon entrance. Once seated they give you menus and try to take your order immediately. This place tends to be busy during the evening. They play Korean pop music and music videos. This place does have a bar like feel as they have a large bar top and it tends to get a bit loud with guests and the music. They offer a variety of Korean pub food. Some of the food was a bit on the sweeter side. Soy Garlic Wings- 5/10 We were seated by a poster of these wings. Unfortunately when they came out they looked nothing like the photo. We received wings that tasted like honey garlic. They were super sticky and very sweet. The soy flavor was not present. Kimchi Fried Rice- 7/10 This dish is good and has flavor. It is a bit too spicy and looks artificially red. Not sure if they use gochujang but there were clumps of thick like paste throughout this dish. Small portion for $19 rice dish that had 5 pieces of diced chicken. Pan Tteokboki- 10/10 Flavorful ask for mild for a good amount of heat. Portion was good to share. Cole Slaw- 6/10 Needed a bit more flavor. The portion size is very small for $7 side. Needs a better portion size and way more flavor to charge this (cabbage, carrots, mayo, garnished with sesame seeds).

Yelp
Good Korean chicken here and their pizza was delicious as well. Next to the movie theater so great to grab a bite before or after the movies! Service here was great and the inside has great vibes

Yelp
We had dinner here on Monday. There is plenty of street parking. Inside the restaurant is warm and inviting. They have an extensive Happy Hour menu. We had a couple of cocktails. The Seoul King and the POG Champion. The Seoul King is their take on an espresso martini. I love that the flavor of the espresso really comes through. The POG Champion was my favorite since ai love POG and you couldn't taste the alcohol. We also played their infused soju game. For $5 a shot you get a die and the number you roll corcorresponds to a flavor shot. My friend and I rolled the same number and each got a green tea soju shot. It was refreshing and delicious. Now for the food: We got the bulgogli fries. It is a large portion of fries and tasty bulgolgi. The perfect runny yolk egg on top completed it. The seafood udon was amazingly delicious. I love udon and never thought it would be so expertly combined with seafood and vegetables. The Korean fried chicken was delicious. We got it with the K mild sauce. The chicken itself was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sauce was so flavorful and delivered just the right amount of kick. We also got the garlic chili chicken fried rice. A large portion and the heat and garlic were so good. Great food and service makes this a place to come back to again and again.

Yelp
Service was good, they came to check on us a few times. My friends thought I had taken them to a bar because they had lights flashing and music playing. It has a nice vibe to drink and spend time with friends. I got the honey garlic boneless wings. The flavor was good. Sweet with a tiny spice to it. It was very crunchy although one piece was just breading. I would love to try the bone in wings next time. My friends got the fried rice and bulgogi fries. They both tasted really good! The fries had a lot of meat so I'd order that next time! We also got the chicken buldak. The more we ate, the spicier it got! Definitely ask for pickled radish to help. This was my favorite dish but it was super greasy so I probably wouldn't get it again. I got the POG Champ signature drink and it was pretty good. My friend got the Peach Ring and I also liked it. Both drinks were on the sweeter side (my preference). I'd love to come back and try more drinks! FYI: parking here is bad since it's located downtown. We circled a few times until we found parking. They have 2 restrooms (one for men and one for women)

Yelp
Gloves? Provided. Radish? On the house. Drinks? Yes, there's an expansive menu. Other than the neon lights and bar vibes, K-Chicken is different from the other Korean fried chicken places I've been in that they provide pickled raddish and gloves on the house. I THOUGHT THAT WAS A THING OF THE PAST. So glad to see some place still upholding the spirit of KFC (Korean fried chicken). The wings here are juicy ~ the flour coating is somewhat thicker than other places (like bonchon) but it lets the sauce stick on well. So it is great if you like your wings saucey. Also pretty cool how they threw in some shishito peppers on the wings! The mild spicy levels didn't taste very spicy. It felt more sweet than spicy. The fried rice served on the cast iron was surprisingly good! Unfortunately, they weren't selling any Korean pizzas anymore...
google avatar

Robin H.

Yelp
I came here craving Korean Fried Chicken. I got their bone in 20 piece chicken wings, fries, and picked radish. The pickled radish tasted fresh and goes well with the chicken. The spicy cheese fries were a bit too spicy for me. The chicken was fresh and tender, but it wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped. The food was a bit overpriced to me. Not sure about the service because I got takeout. The interior of the restaurant was pretty dark and loud but the outdoor area was quiet and had no heaters. I'm not sure I'd come back.

Yelp
K-Chicken & Beer is my new go-to spot for Korean food in old town Monrovia. They're serving up some of the best soy garlic wings I've had in a while and other delicious plates like bulgogi fries and creamy rose tteokbokki And you can't forget about their drinks! The signature cocktails were really good, but they also have beer and soju if you're trying to keep it simple The dice game was really fun too! Test your luck and hope you get a good flavored shot The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and has really cool nightlife vibes. I went on a Thursday night at 5pm and it wasn't busy yet, so we got seated right away. Servers are super attentive and really helpful too!

Yelp
The food is ok... Kimchi fried rice is good, taste is right, the garlic chili chicken I becomes hard once cold so you have to eat it quick... Service is fine, our server always comes with a big smile, however the rest of the team seem to lacking that... They got some cute cartoon on the walk... Music is not loud...

Yelp
Super service, delicious food, and fun ambience combine for a great catch-up dinner with a friend. The bulgogi is that perfect combo of sweet, savory, with a tinge of spice. The wings were oh-so-satisfyingly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They held up to the sweet chili sauce without getting mushy. All in all, a super tasty spot that we'll definitely return to!

Yelp
This spot is ideal for drinks and snacks. Honestly, all their dishes are really good. I especially enjoy their crispy fried chicken, particularly the soy garlic flavor. Another favorite of mine is the kimchi fried rice, which is incredibly rich and flavorful despite its red appearance--it's not overly spicy. I also tried the honey kimchi pizza with a sweet potato crust, which is very cheesy and can be filling. Service was good they were very helpful. Plenty of parking that you can find in the back of the building or on the street.

Yelp
Located in Downtown Monrovia, K-Chicken and Beer is a neat Korean pub complete with a bar, lit K-pop music, and of course great food! Our party of 4 came hungry and ready to feast--and were not disappointed! We had some sotteok, which are grilled sweet and sausage sandwiched between spicy rice cakes. Some other standouts were the the bulgogi fried rice and fries. Overall, we had the best time and can't wait to come back for the vibes!

Yelp
This is a cute restaurant with full bar in downtown Monrovia. The fried chicken is crispy and juicy. My favorite flavor is soy garlic. The golden crust is a must if you're ordering pizza. So far, my go to pizza is the supreme. There's lots of options on their menu to explore, but I've only tried the fried chicken and pizza so far. I went on a random afternoon and a few tables were occupied. The staff are nice and check on you from time to time.

Yelp
Happy hour from 3-6pm: boneless chicken is $16, all cocktails $12, pint of beer $6 and pitcher is $19. All soju $10! Their 20 pieces original crispy chicken are $33z I got the soy garlic and lemon pepper m. Both were so good. I also got the jjamppong seafood soup $40. It was spicy but good. Got a lot of crab and seafood. The seafood combo udon pasta $23 was flavorful. Must stop by in you are in doe work Monrovia.

Yelp
cool spot in old town monrovia! i don't frequent around this area too much but it was clutch after pickleball hehe it extends all the way in the back :0 we ordered the corn cheese (standard yommy), bulgogi fried rice (DA BEST SAUR YOM), rose tteokbokki (hmmm i always lov), 20 piece legs and wings (honey garlic was whatever, mango habanero was spicy ish ~), and the strawberry + mango alc drinks were okay as well. staff is really attentive and friendly! check in for a free dessert woot woot
google avatar

Yelp
Service was fast but parking was slightly difficult on a busy day. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos of the chicken. They 20 pieces come with 2 small radish cups. The corn cheese was really sweet. If you like pineapple this will be for you. The fried were amazing! So we're the fried rice.

Yelp
Heard good things about this place and wanted to try the Korean chicken and pizza. The environment was overall nice. It had a very bar like interior with K-pop music playing. We ordered onion rings, zucchini fries, a whole chicken, and bulgogi pizza. The onion and zucchini fries were great and reasonably priced. The bulgogi pizza was a bit disappointing. It tasted like Costco pizza with some meat on it. FTR Costco pizza is not bad, but I expected more from this place. The whole chicken was overall good. We got k medium and lemon pepper. The lemon pepper was alright. The K medium was good and spiciness level was similar to sriracha. Service was good. We had no issues there One note, they said the whole chicken would serve 4, but imo it is more like 2 maybe 3.

Yelp
A part of me hates giving so many 5 star reviews. I think maybe I should be more critical. In my defense I do a lot of research before I go to a location so most my reviews should be viewed more as a verification idk la live up to the hype. And let me say This place doesn't disappoint. I came in for a late lunch and was granted by a friendly server named Ashley. She was very helpful answering all my questions and recommending things that I might enjoy. I got the chili bbq fries, k sweet and spicy bbq wings and the honey kimchi pizza. All where very tasty if I had to one I could have done I'm with out the fries. But the wings crispy and flavorful with the right amount of spice (I got the medium) and the pizza had a great flavor perfectly combining so many ingredients is truly a work of art. Highly recommend stoping by. The vibe is great for a friendly meal not ideal for a date in my opinion but a solo meal certainly. Give it a try!
google avatar

Dan L.

Yelp
I had a positive experience overall. Their complimentary salad is lacking in dressing, and I was not really a fan of their Cheese Kimbap. However, their Bulgogi Pizza was outstanding. I did not get to try any of their chicken, but I plan to do so for my second trip. The service was decent, all things considered. I did have to ask for utensils (for the salad) and napkins, which was somewhat surprising and disappointing. Parking can be tricky to obtain in the area on a busy Friday night, but it's available if you're persistent in searching and willing to walk a modest distance.

Yelp
It was my first time here at K-C&B & wasn't sure what to try! So many flavors & items to choose from. I enjoyed how crunchy & juicy the wings were! I got original with their soy garlic sauce on the side. The fried shishito peppers that came as garnishes with the wings are yummy as well. The chicken wings itself were nice 8/10! & the soy garlic flavor was just okay. I believe every order comes with a side of pickled radish - which was a little bit on the sweeter side. Not too shabby, although I prefer it more tangy. Overall, customer service was good & staff were friendly & welcoming! I would come back again to try different flavors and other items on the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
I used to love this place- until they got rid of their Korean pizza and redid their whole menu. The pizza was one of the best, with kimchi toppings and sweet potato filling. Now it's just a regular Korean bar restaurant :( come for their KFC if you are in the area, their honey garlic and mango habanero are our faves. but other dishes are just okay- nothing stands out as unique.

Yelp
K-Chicken & Beer for tonight, mm-K? What I Ordered: KBBQ Chicken Honey Kimchi Pizza Food: Both foods were new flavors that sounded interesting, and they definitely tasted interesting as well! KBBQ Korean Fried Chicken had a unique flavor that had strong soy sauce and vineger that reminded me of a vignegrette sauces for salads. The Honey Kimchi Pizza was unique in that there was kimchi in between the cheese and dough. We also got the sweet potato crust, which was delicious! While the concepts were unique and new, they weren't my absolute favorites. The quality of the ingredients were great, so I would love to come back to try the original common flavors of the pizza and chicken. Service: The staff were quick and friendly! I overheard the bartender explain the Korean alcohol soju to the customers, and I was impressed that he was so well informed. Ambiance: Plenty of seats with a bar area and table area. There is also a more private area deeper inside the restaurant. Lots of parking around the area as well! It's old town Monrovia, so there are small shops and parks to visit after your meal!

Yelp
The staff were friendly and efficient, food came out super hot, and the restaurant looked cool. We've been here a few times off and on good bulgogi and the wings we get have never been a miss. It wasn't too busy when we went.
google avatar

Sara N.

Yelp
My friend and I usually go after watching a movie. Their happy hour isn't a great deal tbh. 6 wings for $10 so $1.50 a wing isn't a great deal... Also soju for $10 when they sell a carton of 6 for $17 Anyways, wings are pretty good. Nice a crunchy and perfectly cooked. Order comes with a side salad and radishes. We order a pitcher for the table but again, I wish they had better HH deals. They do have a full bar so if you don't want beer or soju they can probably make you a yummy drink.

Yelp
Fantastic spot in Old Town Monrovia, with ample free parking in nearby lots. Came on weekend happy hour which was great! Staff was super friendly, and patient with our 18mo old daughter. Loved half booth seating. There also was a nice bar area too. We LOVED their bulgogi fries! Definitely a must try. Well flavored and memorable. Will get again. We also liked their boneless wings (got their mild soy garlic) but also tried their newer honey garlic (mild/med spice) but as drumsticks. Their chicken was tender and both sauces were flavorful and special. Can't wait to try more. So much more on their menu to try- we will be back for sure. Highly recommend giving this spot a try, a worthwhile detour even if not from the area.

Lily V.

Yelp
The first time I came here was with a friend. We ordered a lot of food and a strawberry soju cocktail. The fried chicken was amazing! My friend doesn't eat ones with bones so we only ordered boneless. Soy garlic was good as usual, but we tried honey garlic, which was sweet and slightly spicy! Kimchi fried rice and tteokbokki was spicy good too. They also have pickled radishes with the chicken and we ate every one of them, wish the portion was much bigger! Came here a few times afterwards to order out! Their chicken is definitely great.

Yelp
Had dinner at K-Chicken last Friday. The place was a little busy and my party of 4 needed to wait an=bout 30 minutes until we received a text that a table was available. The establishment is a little tiny with most of the table lined on a wall. They also had a back room that was a bit more spacious but looked like K-Chicken has been using it as storage. We were seated there. The place makes up with its service. The staff constantly came to the back room to check on us if we needed anything. Food was good. We had their spicy bulgogi fries, rose tteokpokki with ramen (the best!) and 18 pc half&half wings; we opted for their soy garlic and bbq. I enjoyed the bbg wings more because the soy garlic wings seemed to be a little too boozy for my taste. Speaking of booze, their cocktails are STRONG. I had their mikan tequila cocktail and it was more like Casamigos with a bit of oj. I'd definitely come again to try out more dishes and drinks.

Yelp
I love that I never had to wait long to eat amazing Korean fried chicken local to me! It's always so clean inside, and tbh I love the giant screens showing the K-pop music videos- such a vibe. The chicken so much, and love that they serve the daikon along with it. We were also served ranch without being asked, and that is some top notch service! Also, recommend the rose tteokbokki; spicy, creamy, pillowy and comforting. Five stars!

Yelp
Amazing wings, amazing drinks! The Korean bbq wings are hands down the best! Mat knows how to make the best dirty martini with Tito's that will make Beth Dutton proud. Definitely craft drinks no artificial mixes.

Yelp
My friends birthday is coming up so I decided to take her for some Korean food since we both love it so much! K-Chicken and Beer did not disappoint at all! The restaurant is in a prime location in downtown Monrovia, it seems simple on the the outside but is a pretty restaurant on the interior; Definitely gives Korean joint vibes, I loved it! As soon as we entered all their staff kindly greeted us and we were sat very quickly. The staff all seem to help each other out with everything, so service is very attentive and quick! We ordered the mango iced tea, pan tteokbokki, sweet chili boneless fried chicken, and French fries. The mango iced tea was so refreshing, perfectly sweet tea. It was my first time trying tteokbokki, I've been wanting to try it for soooo long, and it met all the hype; the tender chewy rice cakes soaked up the sweet and savory broth and we opted for cheese to take it to the next level! The fried chicken was as good as I'd expect any Korean friend chicken to be.. AMAZING! Lastly the fries, they were the perfect crunch, I really enjoyed them. Super happy to have taken my friend here for her bday dinner, highly recommend! (:

Yelp
This is an amazing spot! Definitely a go to for hanging out with big groups. They also have happy hour at 8pm! Food: delicious! The chicken and honey kimchi pizza were amazing. I love the combination of flavors. Note that the sour cream and onion flavored fries are great as well! I definitely want to come back to try the garlic Parmesan. Service: great! They were all super kind and our server recommended some really great eats! Thank you for helping us out!

Yelp
I was in between a 3 or a 4 when thinking about how to review this place. The pricing is a tad bit high for the portion size. Although the food looks good, the Korean flavors do not come through. Service is there and not at the same time. Enough service to order and receive food. The bulgolgi pizza was odd and overwhelmed by the onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. The chicken wings had the correct texture like some other Korean fried chicken places, but the flavor was a little miss. A bit strange to put shishido peppers that are sometimes bigger than the chicken wing piece. Also strange to put something spicy on a dish that is not spicy. Highlight was the cabbage salad because it was refreshing how cold the shredded cabbage were and the dressing went well with it. I liked the cubed pickled daikon which is on par or better than some other Korean restaurants.

Yelp
This review is about the delivery service via UberEats that we had. Ordered a whole chicken with 1/2 soy garlic and 1/2 sweet & spicy(spicy level - Spicy) flavors. They were crispy enough outside yet tender inside and marinated well so that they were very much flavorful. Unlike other name brands of KFC:Korean Fried Chicken, the size of chicken pieces were just right, neither too big nor too small. However, if you imagine their Tteokbokki would be traditional and typical, then you were wrong. I mean it was delicious though it wasn't the typical Tteokbokki. Plus, one thing that can't be ignored for a delivery service is packaging, absolutely. The chickens were packed in a sturdy paper container and I can say that they even carefully considered the ventilation of heat to prevent the crispy fried chickens from getting soggy due to the moisture caused by heat. In addition, there was no leak with Tteokbokki since the container had been sealed tightly. The reason I bring a packaging issue here is that I have had the unsatisfactory poor food packaging experiences with some other restaurants for numerous times before for my takeout or delivery orders. Physically I have not been in this restaurant yet but I am sure I will sooner or later. Therefore, my rating is solely based on the delivery service that we had and it is 10/10

Yelp
Yesterday, my fiancée and I met up with a couple of friends for lunch at K Chicken & Beer in Monrovia. None of us had been there before, but with its solid online reviews, a menu boasting a variety of chicken dishes, beers on tap, and even Korean pizza, we were eager to check it out. Parking was a breeze thanks to a lot behind the building and around the corner, which is free -- a nice perk given how busy the street parking was. When we got inside around 1 p.m., we were surprised to find it wasn't crowded at all. For a Saturday afternoon, we expected it to be busier, but we were seated right away. Service was friendly and prompt, and we got started with a couple of beers. They have a nice selection, offering small, medium, and large bottles, as well as different drafts. The beers were cold and hit the spot. As we started to look through the menu, we were excited by the variety of options. However, that excitement quickly turned to disappointment when we noticed a sign on the menu: the pizza oven was broken, and no pizzas were available. This was a letdown. With pizza being one of their standout offerings, it was frustrating not to have any of it available. This wasn't just one or two pizzas missing --none of the pizzas could be ordered. My advice to ownership is to get the pizza oven fixed as soon as possible, ideally within a matter of days or a week. It would also be helpful to put an update on their website about the pizza situation, including an expected date for it to be fixed. This way, customers won't arrive expecting pizza, only to be disappointed when they sit down. Despite that setback, we proceeded with our order. We kicked off with some cheese sticks, which were hot and flavorful -- a good start to the meal. My fiancée ordered the japchae. She said it was okay, not amazing but decent enough. I went with the 10-piece soy garlic chicken wings, which were packed with flavor and definitely hit the mark. As we continued our meal, the service remained friendly and attentive. Even after we finished eating, we were able to sit and chat with our friends for several hours without feeling rushed, even as the place began to fill up heading into the evening hours. The location itself is in the charming, walkable downtown area of Monrovia, surrounded by shops and eateries, adding to the experience. Now, here's a nice touch: at least as of the first week of October, they're offering a free Choco Pie with a Yelp check-in. Be sure to take advantage of that! We did, and while they're small, they were yummy and a great way to wrap up the meal. Overall, K Chicken & Beer has a lot going for it. The interior is clean with an interesting layout, and the food, while not incredible, was satisfying. The pizza situation was the main drawback of our visit, and it's something I hope they resolve soon. We'll be sure to contact them to check if the pizza oven is fixed before our next visit. Other than that, I think this spot is worth a try for both lunch and dinner. They offer a unique menu, solid service, and a relaxed atmosphere that make it a cool place to hang out.

Yelp
Outstanding service and great food for every visit! I love Korean fried chicken but I'm also glad that this restaurant offers more than that. I really enjoy their k-pizza (honey kimchi with golden crust) and their rose tteokbokki as they are a good enough size to share. Definitely a place to bring friends to hang out with as the vibes are casual and lively. The restaurant is relatively large with bar seating as well. I can find myself coming back here often with a craving of Korean comfort food.

Yelp
Liked the atmosphere, food and service. We all agreed that the tukboki was kind of blah, but other than that, pizza and fried chicken were yummy. My fav was the honey garlic chicken. The crust was very crispy and flavor on point!

Yelp
FOOD: Swung by to finally give this place a try during the Happy Hour from 3-6 PM, and it was pretty good. The selection during this time is limited, but the pricing is decent. - Fries ($4.95) paired well with the Regular Boneless Wings ($14.95) in the K-Medium flavor. It had a kick to them without being painfully spicy, and all the pieces were thoroughly coated in sauce. However, the chicken pieces are on the smaller side and not as crispy compared to some other places. - For drinks, we ordered the Mango & Honeydew Soju Cocktails ($14.95 for 1/2 liter). The Honeydew Soju Cocktail was delicious, perfect if you prefer sweeter drinks that hide the alcohol. You could taste more of the alcohol in the Mango Soju Cocktail, but I still enjoyed it. I wish the ice chunks weren't so tiny because they melted quick causing the drink to be more watered down, and it didn't stay cold as long. SERVICE/AMBIANCE: Around 5:30 PM on a weekday there was no one there, but it started to get more busy around 7-8 PM. Good music was playing, and it wasn't overly loud so you can definitely catch up with friends here. The service was okay; the waiter came back twice to repeat our order even though we initially only got 3 items, but still got it wrong. They accidentally made an extra order of sweet potato fries so they gave it to us, but ended up adding it to the bill so I had to ask for it to be removed. The place is pretty clean in general, and there is a lot of seating. OVERALL: I find the regular pricing of the food to be quite high, so I wouldn't come back if it wasn't Happy Hour. The food is not bad, but it doesn't feel like an authentic Korean pocha.

Yelp
Today is National Chicken Wing Day and you should DEFINITELY get some wings here!! THE. BEST. WINGS. Hands down!! We love them so much we've ordered them twice just in the past week lol. We've been coming here since they opened and have loved everything we've ever tried! The staff are always awesome, the vibes are fun and hip, prices standard, and location perfect! My go-to was always their bulgogi bc it's also the best I've ever had but after I tried their wings, I had to switch bc those wings are on a whole other level lol. The batter is excellent - super crispy and so flavorful with tender, juicy chicken on the inside. Their drumettes are plump and flats so full of meat. All the sauces we've tried have been excellent as well. Their "mild" flavors tend to be pretty spicy so be aware. The honey garlic is good - also a tad spicy but doable - a pleasant kick to it. But it's the soy garlic for me!! That's my absolute FAVE flavor!! They've recently added pizzas to their extensive menu so that's definitely on my list to try - once I get past their delicious wings haha! Even their mozzarella sticks are awesome! They're located right in the heart of adorable Old Town Monrovia with awesome wall art and a very chill bar to hang out at. We always have a fantastic experience here and will definitely keep coming back for more! You simply can't go wrong here - Highly recommend!

Yelp
Came here for lunch with my wife. It's a great spot for quick Korean fried chicken, army stew, and a cold beer. The vibe feels like a laid-back bar where you can relax with friends and watch sports. Located in Old Town Monrovia, and there's plenty of parking available.

Yelp
Came here a few times since they opened in Old Town Monrovia, and it's always a blast here. There are lots of drink options: so many different types of soju flavors, and of course, beer. There are so many flavor options for the chicken (bone in or boneless), but my favorite is definitely the lemon pepper. The soy garlic is a close second. The kimchi fried rice was also a hit, as well as the zucchini fries. Price is moderate and reasonable. There is usually plenty of free parking at the parking lot on the side of the movie theater, if you can't find parking on Myrtle. If you're looking for a place to chill with some friends over some beer and food, this is it! They also have reverse happy hour on certain days (you can call to double check).

Yelp
Pricey for bar food. They make bank on the beer & soju, so why the high prices for French fries with bulgogi?

Yelp
I was really craving wings and this place really hit the spot! They have some unique flavors! Chili garlic chicken wing was my favorite! It had nice chunks of garlic which added a great taste to the wings! K hot was also really good!!

Yelp
UNDERRATED. This place deserves more recognition for their food. Yes, there are many Korean chicken spots but the pizza. THE PIZZAAAAAA. It was so damn good. I didn't know what the golden crust was but it said it was recommended with the pizza we ordered. A sweet potato filled crust?? I'm all in. The service was great. Small place, but still good seating and there's public parking lots around Monrovia you can park for free. Will definitely come for more of that pizza or I want to try all of them!
