Yelp
Good food, open late, plenty of parking, great service! Will definitely come back! The owners are so so sweet. This place needs more business

Tina D.

Yelp
Table was actually dirty when we came in. When I whispered this to my friend? The waitress may have heard me she apologized and promptly wiped down the table! I believe I got the seafood tofu soup, but I'm positive the seafood came from a seafood mix bag from the grocery store. The mussels were the size of a penny. Good nonetheless! Love that this place opens late!

Megan C.

Yelp
Came here late on a Friday night because I was craving some tofu soup! The soup and side dishes were really solid. It also comes with a side of rice which is nice. I got the seafood tofu soup and there wasn't much seafood inside of it, it mostly was tofu. They only had one cook in the back, so even though there weren't many people in the restaurant the wait for food was really long ~about an hour. They didn't serve the side dishes until my soup came out, so I was starving at that point. Overall the food was decent but this soup alone was $16 with tip & tax, which I think is over priced and the service could be more efficient.

Yelp
Located in the parking lot of what used to be china max (rip) is a very small and quaint restaurant named K Cuisine. I ordered the beef and seafood mix tofu soup at a spicy level. Spice was more on the medium side, but there was plenty of seafood, beef, and tofu. It came with a small bowl of white rice. The highlight of my meal there was the seafood pancake-it was delicious. I also appreciate that they give you a carafe of water there. I was slightly confused when she brought out a red solo cup with water drops inside and it made me think they were reusing plastic cups...until I noticed that they keep the red solo cups in the fridge so most likely it's condensation. Much better food than the Tofu House on convoy and in Mira Mesa. Banchan was served and tasted fresh! Solid food, I dig it-4 stars.

Yelp
It was very satisfying to have a nice Korean hotpot on a chilly night. Their food is pretty delicious, the pork bone hotpot we had is very big, with a lot of meats in it, it is also flavorful. Comparing to other Korean hotpot places like Jomaru, this place is not the best, but not bad at all, it more tastes like a home made. It was a little slow on a Saturday night and they were not even that busy, but their free small dishes came fast and they ate free refilled.

Yelp
Inflation is out of control. It's been some time and apparently their prices have drastically increased. Do not to-go from here. $21 for this chicken bulgogi that was apparently discontinued on the menu. This looks like left over. It's sad because I used to come here and enjoyed other dishes. First time ordering this and the portion size is a joke. When I call back to see if this is right she tells me that it's a discontinued menu, but made it anyways as if she was doing me a favor. Never going back.

Samantha W.

Yelp
The lady working is so sweet and nice. I really enjoyed my mushroom tofu soup. The spicy chicken wings were good, had a good coating and tasty sauce but they were kinda over cooked which caused the meat to be dry. The bulgogi was pretty good. Would go back to try other items.

Toni P.

Yelp
Love the seafood tofu soup. Banchan was very tasty & generously given. The server very friendly. Will return for these highlights!

Alexis S.

Yelp
K cuisine is a nice hidden corner gem in the heart of convoy. Nice little dine in spot , reminds me of an authentic food sit in joint . Order at least the tteoboki. The ajummas will take care of you if you are courtesy to them . Don't forget your GAMSAMEADAH to them.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Always an amazing experience every time we come here! Parking isn't the best but the food is worth it! Small little mom and pop shop and the food quality and portions are AMAZING for the price. Each time me and the hubby come, we always receive the best service and have thoroughly enjoyed every single dish we have ordered. This most recent visit we ordered soondubu (tofu soup-mixed), grilled pork belly, and grilled eel. Can't recommend this place enough!

Arielle C.

Yelp
My first time at K Cuisine was on a Saturday night to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food took a bit of time to make but it was worth the experience of a home cooked meal. The portions are huge and made to share between friends and family. Do not come here to eat by yourself unless you want leftovers or have a big appetite. My favorite dish is the plain fried chicken (not pictured) with a side of sauce and tteokbokki with spicy sauce. Everything on the menu is delicious so I recommend it all! Thank you to the server and chef who let me sit in the restaurant for ~30 minutes to wait for my party and served me water while I waited. I appreciate that they put our birthday cake in the fridge for us and brought it out when we were ready to blow out the candles.

Yelp
This place is pretty much the only place I'd go to in San Diego for late night eats that have soup and wholesome home cooked Korean foods. The inside is quite small. If you come during the late nights, there's lots of parking and there's not too many people seated. This place looks like a mom and pop shop. Definitely give them a try!

Michelle Z.

Yelp
Craving soup late at night, K cuisine is the place to go. Their soups are nice and meaty and very filling. I also really enjoy the purple rice that comes with each entree. Service here is quick and friendly and the night vibe is quiet. Definitely a to go spot for late night dinners or Korean food cravings

Gareth H.

Yelp
The waitress lady look nice. It took very long time waiting for the waitress to come and the food to come up. Very short staffed The kimchi might have been expired or it was made with too much vinegar, making it taste bad and I'm having diarrhea for two days straight

Samuel H.

Yelp
Second time here, food still as tasty as the first time. Everything is fresh and prepared after you place an order, so do expect a bit of a waiting time. I'm not a pork belly connoisseur, but the pork belly had just the right amount of fat to meat ratio and when you mix it with the salt/oil provided.... All I can say is this dish is worth coming back for. Love the fluffiness of the rice. Dukbokki sauce was pretty spicy, you'll definitely taste the heat if you eat the sautéed vegetables. Friendly and attentive service

Lindy N.

Yelp
Came her a few weeks back and was so happy with our meal. The menu had pretty much every Korean street food you could think of, it felt like eating at your friends house thats how comfortable the place was. We had corn cheese, fried dumplings, and our favorite was the kimchi and spam w/ tofu hot pot. The hot pot was big enough to feed 4-5 ppl and had ramen noodles, spam, pork, pretty much everything. It's open late and the lot has plenty of parking, there was only one server and one cook the day we went so please be patient. Our server was so nice, she kept asking how our food was and was so happy to see everyone else eating.

Yelp
We have been to this busy plaza on Convoy St. and passed by this Korean restaurant for like a thousand times. We never thought of walking in and trying their food until recently. This is an authentic Korean restaurant that serves many of classic Korean food. The menu is pretty simple with some options of noodles, tofu soup, stir fried plates, seafood pancakes, etc. The decor is simple and only one waitress who may be the owner. The ambiance is a simple Korean restaurant that you know it's authentic. We ordered three items on the menu. Their beef soft tofu soup was pretty good. It's simple, not particularly memorable. The portion is slightly larger than other Korean restaurant, but again the flavor is typical. The steamed rice that came with the soup was too soft, sadly. I like the rice to be more firm. The clam soup was really good. She gave us a generous amount of clams. The soup is simple with white pepper flavors and green onion. Lastly, the stir friend squid is okay. It's not spicy. I felt it would be better to be slightly spicy. We didn't order to be spicy but thought it would be already and didn't need to specify. I really like their side dishes. She gave us a generous amount. I liked the variety including one item that I haven't seen before, which was spam covered with egg. Overall, it's an authentic Korean restaurant with good food. Nothing fancy, but you know it's Korean.

Kathy N.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. I love the "mom and pop" vibe here for Korean hotpots. They never pick up the phone so make sure you arrive early to get a spot for a small group. It makes you feel like you're eating homemade food from your favorite auntie. We got pork bone stew, seafood hotpot and bassam. Everything was delicious. I've never really ordered bassam (boiled pork belly) at the restaurant before because it just seems too pricy for what it really is (19$) From not expecting much to being surprised about how good it tasted. The pork belly was tender and it was such a perfect combination with the sweet cabbage and pickle kimchi radish. The hotpots were also a great choice for a rainy day for us. The price is reasonable for the portion size. It usually takes 2-3 people for each pot and it's a lot better than ordering individual soup at other restaurants. We will definitely come back.

Vivian C.

Yelp
I've been to convoy so many times but finally tried this place recently. The inside has a really wholesome and homey feel. The lady working there is really nice the food was better than the average Korean restaurant for sure! The side dishes and Korean army stew were highlights for me.

Nancy Z.

Yelp
Love this place and I wish it got more love! I always come for their Bossam and Soondae which aren't found at the other Korean places nearby (or it's just not as yummy! ). They use steamed cabbage for their Bossam which is different than how I've had it before but I honestly prefer it this way!

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Such good food! Probably our favorite korean restaurant in SD. Highly recommend: - Seafood pancake - Spicy beef noodle - Spicy pork bulgolgi Their bonchon taste like really high quality and honestly, we got sooo much food for 2 people for only $70? Not bad at all considering we brought home leftovers.

Kevin M.

Yelp
K-cuisine is a good place to come and grab a late night meal. They are open until 2:00 a.m. on the weekends. Most of the restaurants around convoy clothes around 9:00 to 10:00 so it's nice to have an option to come to if you're looking for something later at night to eat. Plus the workers here are so nice. Most of the time is just the sweet older lady that works by herself and manages it just fine. It can get a little busier at times so things might be a little slower so you might have to bear with it. It's hard to get mad at someone so cool. The food here is pretty decent especially when times are slim Pickens at late hours. The galby ribs are a no-brainer. I personally like the grilled eel and the corn cheese. We also tried the spicy rib hot part before and that was really tasty. Usually I'll come here with a couple friends so we can try more of the dishes.

Mai V.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious and very cute atmosphere. I love supporting small mom and pop business and this was a gem to find. Everything was delicious and memorable. The food is pricey but you'll definitely have leftovers. Spicy Chicken Feet: 10/10, mildly spicy, sweet, sticky, soft and so delicious. Can't stop thinking about it. Stir fried beef small intestine: 10/10, so delicious with rice! Must try if you like organ meat. The beef flavor is aromatic and present! Clam soup: 9/10 delicious light clear soup full of delicious clams. Soup is simple but the clam flavor is strong. I love how peppery it is. Rice: 10/10 the multigrain rice provided is delicious. Great texture and flavorful. Side dishes: 9/10 all of them were amazing. Best kimchi I've had: perfect balance of spicy, tangy, and not too sweet.

Colleen L.

Yelp
Small mom-and-pop-like restaurant. I love all the variety of sides that come with the meal. I've gotten the Tofu beef soup (staple) and it did not disappoint! Second time I came, my BF and I went a bit over board. We ordered the seafood pancake (crowd favorite), the Pork rib soup and Gizzards. The Pork rib was delicious but too spicy for me (I'm not good with spicy though). The pork fell off the bone and was so flavorful. The gizzards was stir-fried in onion, garlic and jalapenos with (what i think is) a sesame seed oil + salt and pepper dipping sauce. Can't go wrong with Gizzard! The picked radish was a little sweet so went well with the spicy soup. can't wait to go back and try more dishes! The Bossam is next on my list!

Andrew N.

Yelp
I think this is the best quality Korean food I've had in San Diego. Its very humble on the inside nothing to be seen inside but the galbi was very soft, tender, and flavorful. The beef tofu soup was delicious too.

Foodaholic P.

Yelp
I really don't want to be heartless but I would close this place down. Food was really bad. I had to get the servers attention for anything I wanted. And everything was priced at the same price that you could get down the street that taste 10 times better. Trust me, if you're tongue has tasted good food, go elsewhere. Had the chicken feet and stir fried squid.

Kyle S.

Yelp
This place is super cozy and homey. I love the decor with the fishing rods. The food came in generous portions and the side dishes were plentiful . My favorite was the tofu soup! The service was very friendly and nice.

Ellen l.

Yelp
Their corn cheese is the best in town! I always order this. It's huge and so cheap. Drooling

Chris D.

Yelp
K-Cuisine is always a great option whenever I'm craving Korean food. Some friends and I decided to order takeout from here on a Friday night and this was the first time I've been back here since the pandemic began. My favorite item on the menu is the Bossam. The thinly sliced pork belly is flavorful and goes perfectly in the cabbage wraps with the soybean paste dipping sauce. We also ordered the regular fried chicken wings which came both crispy and juicy. I've also had the spicy fried chicken wings before which comes in what's essentially a spicy glazed sweet and sour sauce and that option is also good. Depending on what you're craving, you can't go wrong with either. Finally, we got the Ttoek-bokki which was pretty standard when compared to other Korean restaurants, though it may have been less spicy. Overall, K-Cuisine is a restaurant I'd recommend for it's homestyle food and atmosphere. It's never particularly busy or crowded here, even before the pandemic, which was nice when you wanted a more relaxed place to eat. I only saw one table available for outdoor dining so I'd recommend just calling ahead for takeout. As of August 2020, they're open Mon-Sat 5pm-11pm and closed on Sundays. Based on past visits though, they sometimes close early before their official close time so maybe call to check if they're open before coming just in case.

Kim T.

Yelp
Love coming here for a late dinner with some friends. We were lucky to have our friends introduce us to this location and tell us all the best items to order. The wings are super good and spicy octopus was amazing!

Lisa L.

Yelp
Small place, tucked in the corner of a strip mall. I got the pork and kimchi hot tofu soup. It came with purple rice and was delicious. My boyfriend got the rice cake (tbokki) and it had lots of veggies in it which was nice. He also got some type of noodle dish which was good. Friendly workers, quick service. Very happy with this late night stop.

Anniejoy C.

Yelp
Great little spot! We were a little skeptical at first because there was only one other party of 2 eating besides us. The food was great and the service was better! Highly recommend the seafood pancake! It was jam packed with fish, squid, and veggies.

Mai H.

Yelp
We originally planned to dine at LIUYISHOU Hotpot but it was too busy; so decided to eat here for the first time instead. It's a small restaurant with not very many tables and one server throughout the night. Their corn cheese is good, better than most places because they give a lot of cheese. The side dishes weren't given until requested. Their chicken feet flavoring was just okay; it also made my mouth pretty tired mid-meal from all the chewing and spitting out the bones.. and it was also pretty pricey ($22?) at that. The bossam was the best dish ordered. The pork was cut thicker than to my usual liking but it was great to wrap with the cabbage and jalapeños and garlic-- yums! The chicken ginseng soup was regretful... it tasted like water and chicken, very bland and flavorless. The items we ordered were more like appetizers. It wasn't satisfying because we didn't have carbs (rice or noodles), as all my meals normally would. Overall I'd give it a 3.5-4.

Michele R.

Yelp
Such a great mom and pop restaurant. We came for a late dinner and are so glad we found this place. Two of us shared two dishes and it was the perfect amount of food. The mixed beef and seafood tofu soup was well balanced, spicy, rich and had a flavorful broth. The seafood pancake was chock full of seafood, flecked with green onion and zucchini, crispy yet tender. Panchan selection was also on point, we really enjoyed the kimchi and fish cakes especially. The restaurant was empty when we arrived. Don't let that fool you. If you want a flavorful and great quality meal, give it a try!

Jeremy K.

Yelp
Best Korean restaurant in San diego. It's run by one Ajumma though so bear that in mind if it's crowded.

Drew H.

Yelp
Late night spot. Mushroom tofu soup was amazing. They only serve Terra beer, which is neither a plus nor a minus. Just a point of information. Standard Korean accoutrements come with every dish. They blast k-pop and stream the station straight from Korea. Will be back.

Jocy C.

Yelp
K Cuisine is a Mom and Pop shop (Korean / Chinese restaurant) located in Kearny Mesa area of San Diego. FOOD: I ordered Yook Gae Jang (spicy beef soup - individual size) and my significant other ordered the Pork Neck Stew Hot Pot (family size). Both were delicious!! DRINKS: My significant other and I were able to order the Soju / Bek Se Ju to mix. Woot Woot!! Best way to drink without a hangover!! ENJOY!!

Dung N.

Yelp
My friend wanted to meet up before her long trip and wanted Korean food on Convoy, so I suggested this place since it is fairly new. There was hardly anybody there on a Saturday night, which was surprising. We shared the beef bulgolgi and jap chae, which arrived with some ban chan. The dishes didn't look that appetizing, but tasted better than they looked. The beef was flavorful and noodles were tasty. I wish that they took more time to present the dishes nicely, since it makes a big difference, in my opinion. Service was friendly and quick, but with so many Korean restaurant options on Convoy, I'm not sure how well they will do since they don't have anything particularly special on the menu.

Jacs P.

Yelp
This place is a hole in the wall!!!! Best Korean spot in convoy!!! A small mom and pop shop that deserves more recognition

George P.

Yelp
Came by here last night after seeing it many times and never going in, and what a surprise. Friendly staff, no wait, and very solid menu with inexpensive prices, and best of all: delicious food. Ended up getting some corn cheese, beef bulgogi, and an order of their seafood tofu soup. Everything arrived in a timely matter, and the banchan that came with it was so good (especially the seasoned daikon?). I was surprised they didn't for a spice level on the tofu soup but it ended up being the right amount of flavor and spice. It was a delight to finally drop by this place and can't wait to make a return visit soon. Also, I liked the fishing theme of the restaurant, especially that giant shrimp (or crawfish? lobster?) figure near the back.

kenneth N.

Yelp
Mom and pop shop, generous portions and very good food. Recommend heavy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

William C.

Yelp
A small, little restaurant with fantastic service, but only okay food. We came late one weeknight, and pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves, which was great! We were starving, so we got the seafood pancake, the japchae, and the wings with fries. The wings were rather bland, but they were very well cooked. Crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. Unfortunately, there was only the taste of slightly salted breading. The same also goes for the fries - perfectly crisp, but ketchup required. The saving grace here is that the portions are huge! The japchae was decent, but not as sweet or flavorful as their competition. The seafood pancake was probably the one thing I had that was up to par, but it was not as eye-poppingly large as other spots. Even their complimentary side dishes weren't as good as other places we've had. Their best, redeeming quality lies within their service and their portions.

Li C.

Yelp
GREAT SAN DIEGO KOREAN FOOD DISCOVERY: I haven't experienced such authentic-tasting, spicy, flavorful and BOMB Korean cuisine since I was in Ktown last year. **BEST TIP** Buy their Korean food before walking into a Karaoke joint like Jin Music Studios, a few doors down in the same plaza! I got their Ddubokki dish for $14 comes with 4 eggs. IT WAS SO GOOD. I seriously haven't had ddubbokki that good since I went to Ktown LA. Service was on the slow side, because there was low staff, but the employees were so helpful and sweet and accommodating. I'll absolutely come back at the next chance I get, or probably next weekend haha.

Gee L.

Yelp
Great Chicken soup w ginseng. Seafood soon tofu was great too. Not disappointed. The waitress or receptionist could be a bit more welcoming, but the food and price were great. Will come back for other soup items.

Emily L.

Yelp
Can I give a quick shout out to the dukbokki here? If you are craving some of this spicy rice cake goodness, look no further. But why you gotta charge an extra $2.50 to add ramen or an egg? Overall, good hearty food for a reasonable price. Haven't seen it get that busy here, so if you need some nom Korean food like RIGHT NOW, this is a good spot to go.

Diana P.

Yelp
I had my doubts about this restaurant and it's been difficult to try it even when I consider it because of the limited parking. But this place is open late so I finally got a chance to try it since not many people were in the plaza at 11:30pm. The lady serving us was really sweet and helped explain items on the menu and sauces to pair our food with. Sides. They were good. Fish cakes were my favorite. Dumplings. Pretty standard. It wasn't bad but I'll pass on it next time. Fried gizzard. Omg I love gizzard. They made it so well here because it didn't smell weird nor was it too chewy. They also give you a side of oil to dip your gizzard and garlic cloves. Recommending this to others for sure!! Wings. They use corn starch instead of flour but I absolutely love how crispy and homey it tasted. It's different from cross street. Definitely coming back for this. Great with cass! I like the original more than their spicy one. Beef rib soup. I thought it was going to be like galbitang but it was a spicy broth with shredded beef. A bit bland in my opinion.

Justin T.

Yelp
In this area it is so competitive Asain food wise. Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, all basically fighting it out next to each other literally neck and neck. This place happens to be Korean, and the 3 things I ordered were absolutely scrumptious. I ordered beef with clear noodles, kalbi steak plate, and dumplings... all 3 were great, and would order them again. The place is relatively small but could also handle a decent amount of people. The man who took my order was polite. The place seemed very authentic. I would recommend trying at least once amongst a sea of other equally amazing asain! Happy eating!!

Lauren T.

Yelp
Who knew K Cuisine was hiding the best dumplings aka mandu on Convoy? How long has this place been flying under the raider? Unlike the Myung In Dumplings (further south of Convoy), that taste like a mixture of bland pork and bread, there's so much flavor and juice in K Cuisine's mandu that using soy sauce would be a serious disrespect to the chef. Anyway, moving on from mandu heaven, my bulgogi was good as well. It was a little sweeter than what I'm use to having, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Lastly, unlike most Asian establishments in the area, the service was pretty good! Let's say it was refreshing not to have to vigorously wave your hands in the air just to ask someone to bring the check.

Calvin N. H.

Yelp
This obscure little restaurant is tucked away in the corner of the same shopping center as Inifini Tea. Earlier that evening, I had eaten a super light dinner, so started feeling hungry really late that night. Infini Tea's kitchen was pretty much closed (only serving popcorn chicken), so I decided to look for another place to eat. A quick Yelp search brought me here to K Cuisine. It's nice that this place is open late. More food options late at night isn't a bad thing in my book. Based on reviews, pictures, and what I was craving I went with beef bulgogi. On my second visit I ordered spicy chicken wings. Both times I really enjoyed the food. The beef was tasty and tender. The chicken wings were crisp, flavorful, and had some nice kick. I wouldn't have minded the wings to be spicier, but they were good. I would like to try the soft tofu soup next time. They did serve side dishes both times, but they were different each time. It's nice for them to change it up, I didn't mind the variety. Restaurant was nice and clean, service was good, and the food was pretty good. Overall, a nice little restaurant.

Joyce L.

Yelp
So far, this is my favorite Korean restaurant in San Diego. They're open late and make delicious food. Service is a bit slow since they are understaffed which is understandable bc this is a mom/pop store and there isn't much space in the restaurant in the first place. Be patient and enjoy the ambiance; the food is worth the wait and the staff are friendly and accommodating. my friend who always orders bulgogi at every restaurant that offers it on the menu has said that the bulgogi they serve here is the best. I personally love that they have purple rice and their side dishes, although not the best i've had, are varied and will keep you sated until your food arrives. Their fried chicken is honestly better than Bonchon which is right next door. For all the yuppies and instagram food bloggers, this is not the place for you! If you are craving authentic homestyle korean food check it out.
