Food here is AMAZINGLY GOOOOOD! Authentic Vietnamese dishes! Top favorites are shaken beef, salted shrimp, salted squid, sf greens, salted chicken, fried rice is great too!

A late night spot to enjoy some Vietnamese cuisine and have drinks with friends. The place can be pretty busy and loud, but the food and sticks come out quick. We had the BBH hot pot, shaken beef, and a tofu/noodle dish with fermented fish paste (my friend liked it a lot). The BBH had some really good flavors to it. The noodles were cooked perfectly and did not stick to each other as we were making our own bowl. The shaken beef also had some good flavor and came out sizzling. The server was quick at bringing out our dishes. Overall, a pretty busy spot with some good eats.

I had the pleasure of dining at Ka Te, Portland's very best Asian restaurant! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I was especially impressed by the owner Eric, who was knowledgeable and passionate about the restaurant and the food they served. The food was absolutely amazing! I had the opportunity to try a variety of dishes and they were all incredibly delicious and authentic. The pho was especially good, and the broth was flavorful and just the right balance of spices. The spring rolls were also excellent, and the fish was cooked to perfection. I also had the chance to try the karaoke for the first time, and it was a great experience. Everyone was having a great time, and the atmosphere was very inviting. Overall, my experience at Ka Te was one of the best I've ever had. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect. I would highly recommend Ka Te to anyone looking for an authentic and enjoyable Vietnamese experience.

The fried rice was so bland, no flavor. Basically white rice mixed in bork belly fat. The salt n pepper squid was okay, could definitely go without ever missing it. Salt n pepper shrimp… omg they fried it in batter with the shells on… the egg-rolls are springs rolls, tiny. I let the pictures convince me otherwise. Fish sauce wings… not my thing. The only thing worth having was the French fries, that should say a whole lot. Spend $80 hoping hoping it would hit the spot. Waste of money!

First time here and I'm blown away with how authentic the food was. Not a lot of places around here where you can order fermented fish paste and garlic butter snails. If you would like a unique experience, definitely try the food here. It's a bar restaurant with lots of chatter and music in the background at night but if that doesn't bother you, come on down! Service was busy but our waitress was nice.

This place is great. The bartender did a wonderful job and took care of my every need. Highly suggest this spot for karaoke or just a night out with friends.

We ordered a lot of stuff for my sister's birthday. The restaurant was fairly empty on a Sunday night. The workers are very polite and had a nice spread of some remixed throwback music that reminded me of when I was younger and playing ddr and whatnot. A lot of the food is very appetizer/shareable style. If I didn't have a baby, I would definitely come here with buddies for a drink and some tasty plates. The garlic butter snails were very good. The flavor and sauce on the shells were super tasty and sweet. The sauce soaks into the shell very well too so the snail is also super tasty. The fish sauce wings were crispy and really sweet and flavorful. The Thai seafood hotpot didn't have the best broth flavor tasting almost alittle bitter but once we added in the sauce from the clams in, it was pretty good. There was a decent amount of seafood In there as well. The salt and pepper squid were big long pieces of squid which I typically prefer the smaller more crispy pieces. Worth the visit and will definitely come back!

The late night hours are a surprise. The karaoke room seems a bit strange. However, I have had the best lotus salad in my life!!!

We love stopping here late nights after being out with friends. The staff is nice and friendly and the food is soo good! It's a small establishment but they have a nice covered patio out back and also a nice open patio our front. They even have a room for karaoke.

If you love Viet bar food, this is the place. In the Bay Area, we have a selection, but here the price is way more worth it. Everything tasted fresh. They have lots of variety of dishes. I always tell people. Try it before judging it because it's so flavorful. Just the ingredients itself sound kinda scary, but you'll be fine. There's lot of seating and I hear it's still fairly new. This place also opens late, so definitely a place to hang when you got munchies.

This is a great late night place to eat. Food always hot fresh and tasty and the service is always good . It's quite but loud at night with karaoke but it just makes the atmosphere fun and definitely a late night after the bar or even a late night food trip

Ka-Te Restaurant & Bar is hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant in Portland! The eggrolls are the best I have ever had, crispy on the outside and filled with delicious meat and vegetables on the inside. The flower snails with butter and garlic are out of this world, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The sizzling filet mignon with eggs and bread is another standout dish, the meat was tender and juicy, and the combination of flavors was unique and delicious. The restaurant has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with friendly staff that make you feel welcome when you walk in. The menu is extensive, and there is something for everyone, from classic Vietnamese dishes to unique creations you won't find anywhere else. If you want a fantastic dining experience, I highly recommend Ka-Te Restaurant & Bar.

Solid bun dau mam tom in town. Chao long is also good. Recommended! Not a fan of the vibe tho.

Went in for midnight snack on a weekday and it was empty. Service was fast but staff was not wearing masks. Food is moderate, mostly not as much flavors. Good service.

This place used to be the 82nd Bar and Grill. The place still has the same features - karaoke room, back patio, and video lottery. The place does get busy at night with a good amount of people karaoking or just snacking. We came here to eat. We had the shaken beef, BBH hot pot, and this tofu/noodle with fermented fish paste (friend liked it). I enjoyed the hot pot as it was super flavorful and good after a long day. Came here late a night--Only ordered Shaking Beef "Bo Luc Lac" and a side of rice to share with a friend. The beef was super tender and overall the plate was delicious! Id def like to come back and try more of their menu items in the future!

Whenever I have friends and family come to visit, I always take them to Ka-te. The food is good but the hospitality is wonderful! The owners always greet us with a warm smile and friendly hello. They are very accommodating with small or big groups. They also have a room that you can book for private events and decorate very professional looking. All in all, Ka-te is a gem in Portland!

I had a wonderful experience at Ka-Te Restaurant and Bar, the best Asian restaurant in Portland. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, and I could tell that the dishes were authentically Vietnamese. I was also able to try karaoke here for the first time, and it was a great experience! The owner, Eric, is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and he was a great host. I haven't tasted food this well since the last time I was in Vietnam, and I would highly recommend Ka-Te Restaurant and Bar, to anyone looking for an amazing Asian dining experience.

Hit this place up on a Wednesday night about 1 am. Love getting late night Viet food in pdx. Ordered BBH and Fish sauce wings and both were bomb! Flavorful BBH stock. Folks were friendly, nice chill smoking patio and karaoke room with a QSC soundsystem ftw. Highly recommended!

We thought the food was excellent. But as Americans, we found some of the offerings too exotic. They're for an Asian audience, I think. They do have a nice bar selection as well as food. We had the shaking beef and also fried rice with barbeque pork and shrimp. The beef was great: tender tasty beef and piping hot veggies in a delicious sauce. The fried rice was some of the best I've ever had. (And I've been around for a while!) I had a Midori drink, which is made with a melon liquer; yummy! We also liked the decor and the friendly staff. So, thumbs up for Ka-Te!
