The good: This place has excellent food.I strongly suggest gyro fries. I don't know what kind of sauce they put on it but I like it with the cucumber sauce thus as well. Gotta salad with my food and it was fresh. The service is good.The cashier typically work solo and brings your food out to you.After you place your order period food did not take forever. Atmosphere, this place is always clean.There's not too many people that eat in the restaurant.But every time I go there there is always to go.

The portion sizes of their food are good. Quality was mediocre. Their utencils wwre dirty so I asked for dispoable ones.

Ordered take out while at the place, very quick service and the kabob was tasty as well as the tabbouleh, the hummus too.👍 Recommended.

Excellent food with large quantities. The plates come with lots of rice and two side dishes of your choice. Service was helpful and friendly. The dining area is low key but comfy. All in all, definitely recommend!

Excellent Mediterranean cuisine! Portions are HUGE! The plates have so much food expect to have leftovers. Staff is very friendly - I believe it is family run. You won't be disappointed!

So disappointed. The kabob was basic. The lamb chunks were burnt and overcooked with no flavor. I recommend not ordering the garlic parm fries because they are a soggy, salty, and gross. The Parmesean used is cheap and low quality and because they do not cut a hole for the fries to vent the parm had melted adding more salt and making it inedible. They charge for Taziki sauce but it was flavorless, and tasted like sourcream or yogurt.

UPDATE This last visit was way off, different cooks, management or standards, The Price have gone up as well. ----- We were pleasantly surprised with our order, the portions were above average, everything we tried was really good, and prices seemed right on Our service was excellent, so overall we had a great time. The only constructive suggestions would be to spurs up the place or provide easy refills.

Kabob House is hard to beat! Their service is quick and the food is amazing. My sister and I both got the beef kabob plate. The kebab was juicy and flavorful, the rice was delicious, and the tabbouleh was very fresh! This is my new spot for a quick fix of mediterranean food in San Diego.

Delighted with the experience at this restaurant! I ordered the combo plate with side salad and hummus and did half couscous/rice, which was both quality and quantity. The meats were juicy, and the garlic sauce was yummy. The hummus was so good, and not at all greasy. The restaurant's was giving an "at home" atmosphere, and the cashier was so sweet. Although I missed out on the baklava this time, it's a must-try for my next visit. Can't wait to return!

When I tell you I'm still dreaming about this food I'm not lying it was so good and so fresh it's going to be my go to spot 2x times a month. The lady working was super nice and helped with recommendations on what to get. My family and I came for Easter and yall Need to come here and support. They didn't have many customers during the time we ate there and with how big the portions are they need that. It's a perfect spot for Mediterranean food.

Really delicious food and friendly service at this hidden, unassuming family restaurant! I get the beef kabob plate with tabbouleh and hummus- it comes with pita, rice, garlic sauce, and a small spicy sauce. The kabob is juicy with a slight char on the outside. I've also had their Greek salad and it was really good and fresh. There's also a cool mural inside the restaurant.. because why not? I would recommend dining in to really enjoy the food at its best but the only caveat is you might deal with some flies (annoying but mostly harmless).

Ordered take out for the first time from Kabob House for a movie night and we were all very pleased for our orders. I got the chicken shawarma plate which came with hummus, a side salad and a huge amount of protein and rice. I seriously was able to almost make three separate meals out of it.

I just happened to drop by the plaza in which Kabob House was located, and of course I always check Yelp to see if there are any hidden gems nearby. I decided to stop by for a bite and ordered a beef schwarma pita plus a beef kebab on the side. The first thing I noticed was how reasonably priced everything was. A pita wrap for less than $8? I think its the only place in SD that hasn't doubled their prices because of inflation. The kebab was also reasonable at less than $4. The food itself was delicious and fresh. The pita was filled to the brim with fresh veggies and they didn't skimp on the meat at all despite it's price. The kebab was also good as well, but the name was a bit misleading as it was kofta rather than beef cubes as I was expecting. But for the price I paid, no complaints from me! I would definitely come back if I was in the neighborhood again.

This place was awesome every time I visit. The bowl is always so good, sauces are good, just go there. It's worth every dollar.

Visiting from Houston and just saw this place on our map when looking for a place to eat near the Comic Con Museum with a good rating. Wow, what a gem we found!! Food and service were exceptional! Highly recommended! Do not judge this place by the outside or you will regret it! Go here and get some of the best kabob I've had (trust me, I'm from H-town where the food is the best in the world).

Very enjoyable dining experience! My husband and I met for our lunch break (1 hour). We arrived about 15 minutes after opening. The guy working was extremely kind and helpful when answering questions. He advised me to order the combo as it would save me money from ordering the wrap and fries. I appreciate that because some places may want the extra $3. You order at the counter and food is served at your chosen table. We ordered the chicken schwarma in a pita and the gyro wrap with fries. Our food was served hot and the fries were well seasoned. You get sauces in a little cup so I enjoyed dipping my wrap. Also, it didn't take forever to get our food. We were able to eat and enjoy eachothers company without feeling rushed. I would return again and try a salad. Bonus! We were gifted some delicious treats at the end of our meal. Very Very good!! I drive by this restaurant omw to work every morning so I'm glad we decided to eat there today.

This is my nth time in this place.. a humble middle eastern food place which whenever me and hubby craves for it, we know where to go. They remodeled the place to a more hipster looking one.. people come and go to get carry out orders while we dine in to enjoy our food. Server is usually friendly and helpful on the food you are ordering. They do explain what is in it or what kind of food you're getting if you're a newbie in their place. Prices went up a bit now (thanks for inflation!) compared to when we first tried this place last year and the months after.. food is still the same so we keep coming. For me, it's one of the few authentic middle eastern food here in San Diego that satisfies my palate.. ;-)

Our new favorite authentic Middle Eastern food place. Hands down much better than any franchised, corporate chain Middle Eastern-ish /Mediterranean/Greek marketed restaurants - this is real, homemade, authentic and family-made Middle Eastern food. They have real ground koobideh kabobs here - if you know you know.!! We usually get kabob plates and salads. This place is legit and in my regular rotation.

I introduced my parents to Kabob House and my mom got hooked lol. So much so that she wanted to order some food to cater our Mother's Day get together. I placed the order a week in advance and the process was so smooth, I decided to go in for the order as opposed to ordering online since the Greek style chicken wasn't displayed as a catering option. The young lady (so sorry I don't know your name even though you see me REGULARLY) had to call the owner to sort out the specifics for the chicken order, so i had to wait a little bit for that to be sorted, which was completely fine. Once the owner was able to provide us the pricing details I ordered two of the family specials, a medium tray of hummus and tabouleh, 1.5 trays of the Greek style chicken (my moms favorite), and a large green salad. On the day of I called to double check the set pick up time and upon arrival the food was hot and ready. The young lady helped me put the trays in my car and I didn't realize until I got home that they snuck in a complemented dolma which I was eternally grateful for because they were so good! The order was correct, the food was fresh and flavorful and somehow was even better than it typically is. I look forward to using Kabob House for future events because the service and food was so amazing!

I thought it was all pretty mediocre. We got it through Uber eats and I did notice from a lot of the reviews the meat is hit or miss. I ordered during dinner time and the meat came fresh and the chicken was not burnt but quite well grilled just a little bit of crispy parts on the outside like I like, but juicy on the inside the beef was very tender as well as the lamb. the hummus was flavorless, and the pita was not fresh just store-bought from Costco, I did not try the Tabouleh or baba ghanouj this time so I cannot speak on it my friend got a side of fries and they were just soggy. The tzatziki sauce was super water down. The rice was OK not my favorite but not the worst I've ever had everything rounds up to about an OK experience, I've heard a lot of good things about this place but it's not my favorite with so many options I may or may not return

Good food, good portions. Fast service. Only downside is the sketchy parking lot. Always keeps me coming back

If and when I go out to eat, it beter be this place wasn't even a spark!! I ordered the half Chicken with two sides 14.99 + 2.00 dollars extra for the "greek salad, it was more of a "veggie mix"‍ more bellpepers than anything else! My 1/2 chicken was hard as wood!! No flavor and personally will never go back!!

What a wonderful dining experience. Wow, seriously. I got a falafel combo with hummus and babaganoush and a Greek salad plus water. The guys working were super sweet and gracious hosts. They busted out the most BEAUTIFUL food. I could not finish it at all. Everything was made to order and it was a complete delight. What a refreshing experience to have great service and food. I loved everything about it. I will definitely be back soon. Highly recommended.

I am giving 5 stars instead of 4 because when this place is 'on' it's by far the best shawarma/ kabob joint in south SD. What I mean by that is when the meat is fresh off the spit - such as the chicken shawarma or gyro slices - it's the best. I used to think shawarma guys had the best chicken shawarma but when this is fresh here it's def better in my opinion. However, a couple times I've gone it wasn't fresh, it's left over chicken or gyro that is re heated. Very mediocre at that point. So I'm still giving 5 starts only because when on point it's the bomb. I learned from the owner, a cool dude from Iraq, that he only cooks the meat fresh every two days. If he cooked it everyday he'd had way too much left over. Fair enough. So I call now and ask if it's fresh that night and if it's not I don't go (I typically alternate between Tues or wed night and usually one of those two nights the 'fresh cook' falls on that date). Do the same and go here when it's fresh. The price is also really good for what you get, the two meat plate I usually order an extra pita and then I can make an extra meal out of it for lunch the next day. Enjoy.

WOW! Okay, the kabob was sooooo juicy. I hate it when my kabob is dry BUT NOT HERE! Everything was good. And you get soooo much for a small price. Tabouleh, potatoe salad, chicken kabob , beef kabob, yellow rice and coucous AND pita bread for l also fast service! I went with 5 others and we got our food in like 10 min? I think less. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

It's been a long time so I had good Mediterranean food the salad was fresh!!! And the beef and chicken kebab were not dry like other places. I normally don't like to buy chicken but I am happy I did because it had a lot of flavorful spices. I always judge a restaurant by how good the rice is and they pass the test!

Love love love this place. Me and my husbands go to place when we want Mediterranean food and don't mind driving compared to walking in downtown. Price perfectly not over priced at all. Great service the daughter I think is always there in the front and so friendly!!! The place did recently get updated and looks more inviting now!

This place was pretty good, I really enjoyed the hummus and rice, my protein of choice was kind of dry but as it was the end of the day I won't complain much. Definitely want to try this place again soon but probably picking the kabobs instead as those looked juicy !

I found this place on Yelp and chose it cuz the pictures looked good and I love Mediterranean food and really wanted a Gyro and Tabbouli. Atmosphere is nothing to write home about. It's in a 7-11 parking lot so there were quit a few homeless or (people that looked homeless) walking around. Mind you, I ate lunch here. There was no music on when we got here. Staff turned on music tho after a few minutes, but it wasn't a Mediterranean vibe. It was a house pop music vibe. My Gyro wasn't bad but the Pita didn't taste fresh. The tabbouli was good. Not too wet like some places but was on the dryer side. I don't know for sure but the tzatziki must be made in house cuz the consistency wasn't what I'm used to at many other Mediterranean restaurants and from some I've eaten in Greece. It's unfortunate, but they don't have any ice, so I walked next door to 7-11 and got an ice cup. ‍ So, food rating is 3/5, atmosphere is 2/5, service is 4/5.

Wow. I ordered delivery and I know some things don't survive delivery well. So maybe things could have been better dining in. The side salad and the rice were fine. The tzaziki sauce was fine. Pita was OK too. I ordered the beef kebab. I was expecting beef cubes, not flavorless dry hamburger lumps. It did not look like they had been skewered. Schawarma is normally sliced off a spit. The chicken Schawarma was light-years away from the real thing. And the side of falafel. Dry and flavorless. It has been years since I have been here. It was decent food then for the price. Sorry for the negative review. Maybe I've just been to too many good inexpensive Mediterranean restaurants .

Freshness is key here. Portion sizes won't leave you hungry...at all!! Love the Kabobs of course. The gyro pita was overflowing with meat...so good!! Ask for extra Tzadiki even tho I don't know how to spell it.

This place and it's food are straight fire I came here for take out the other day and every part of my grilled chicken plate was delicious I got the chicken plate that was marinated in lemon and spices. Sides were tabouli and hummus. Best hummus I've had in a very long time and this comes from someone who used to make hummus from scratch. Also had half rice and half couscous. I can't say which was better because both tasted great. Full of flavor every bite. So glad I found this place. Super helpful customer service that helped me order for the first time giving me recommendations.

I ordered off of UberEats after having past this restaurant a few times. Upon receiving our food, it was nicely packaged, and smelled delicious. When we opened everything we were surprised at how generous the portions were- down to the hummus and pita bread. Everything was delicious, fresh and wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys Mediterranean food. The salads are large, the plates are tasty. This is definitely going to be the spot we buy Mediterranean food moving forward. Thank you to the employees who made the food. It was wonderful :)

I loved my meal from Kabob House and am surprised that there hasn't been more hype around it. First off the portions are huge, we were able to get two meals out of the plates and it's very reasonably priced. I love the variety of sides you can choose from. I ordered the beef kabob with cous cous, hummus, and babaganoush and the chicken shawarma over rice with tabouli and hummus both, came with pita, garlic and hot sauce. Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Don't sleep on this place!

Delicious food for good price. Enjoyed the steak and chicken along with the hummus it was delicious and worth the wait. I got there when it first opened up and waiting 20-30 mins for my meal well worth it.

I live in the area and have been eyeing this place. Wanted to see more recent reviews before trying out but I've waited long enough. I ordered the combo plate. You get a choice of two proteins and two sides. I ordered double beef kabobs, couscous, fries and baba ganoush. Beef kabobs - delicious! Not greasy, tender and flavorful. Couscous - This surprised me. I didn't think it would be this delicious. Baba ganoush (With 1 pita) - absolutely recommend this to anyone. Fries - they were so-so, just regular fries. They were enjoyable. All for only $15. 100% recommend going here!
