"Venture out to East Norriton to savor some of the most delectable hibachi in the Philadelphia area. Choose from its single-selection menu, with options like the Angus NY strip or one of its sizable combination platters, such as the Kabuto Deluxe (a trio of filet mignon, scallops, and lobster)." - George Banks-Weston

Google
First visit here with one goal, to try the AYCE option. I think this is the best place for that in the area. Really enjoyed the appetizers and having unlimited desert options stood out. The salmon sashimi was large and the eel was great. We came in right before closing, so appreciated the staff working with us to get the best experience, I’d come back!

When you walk in, you’re greeted with the sound of a small waterfall, and much to our delight, koi fish in a small pool. The space is larger than anticipated, with mood lighting, dark toned furniture and a chill playlist. Our server was very sweet and friendly, she shared a genuine smile and upbeat attitude. We ordered one signature roll, a hand roll, miso soup, and smoked salmon nigiri! All were well presented and flavorful.

I give this place another year before it’s out of biz. I did not have an extensive wait but it’s telling that all six (!) of the staff behind the sushi bar sat on their phones for the duration of my time here. One gentlemen sat in front of me for the entire duration of my meal without getting up or doing anything. A customer sat down next to me and asked for help - he pointed across the room at someone else and said they’d be over shortly. It’s fine that they’re a barback but you’re legit sitting in front of us, pretend to be working at least. A beautiful restaurant inside, with a lackluster menu and staff. This place stands prime for a takeover of an interested owner. I asked for appetizer recommendations: “I recommend this one but it’s unavailable and don’t recommend any others” of ~10 options. I ordered an app anyways and it came some time after the special rolls / entree. The nigiri options were basic and lackluster and three were out of stock (86). Again, wild. Nothing noteworthy which was disappointing. The rolls were ok. If you like cream cheese in your rolls please disregard my entire review, it’s not for you. You’ll be fine. I took the two recommended special rolls and they were palatable but neither I’d order again. The app I did get was the five piece nigiri which had 2-3 of the same sauces dumped over the cuts including plain sriracha. What! Wow. Zero effort. Yikes. On a positive note, 4 of the 7 pieces of fish I ordered sushi that they were able to fulfill were fresh enough I’d order again if I came back, which I won’t. I wouldn’t turn down this place by their supplier, which can be an issue for some. Nitpicking hardcore but I do wonder however about the raw salmon which arrived room temperature or above. The other pieces were slightly chilled as they should be but the salmon as lukewarm. I don’t know I’ve ever been served it that way but it made me think about whether I should have eaten it as it was unappetizing. Final positive note - super inexpensive meal!

Google
Best AYCE sushi in this area! Sashimi also in the selection. Sushi rolls were so delicious but little too much rice for nigiri. Boba jasmine tea was so yummy. Also, great service. We had a great time. Thank you!

Google
This was my first time here yesterday night, but my goodness! Everything was just pristine and elegant! I'm not a person who goes out to eat a lot, so I tend to be skeptical. But when I went out with some friends last night, I was blown away by it all! To start, the food was scrumptious, heavenly, and ambrosial! The premium price for everything became a dream come true when I could order as much sashimi as I wanted! The salmon and yellowtail was the best part of the meal along with the nigiri version of the fish! Then there's the service! It was quick and prompt! Everything we ordered from the All You Can Eat was brought in less than 5 minutes! They even refilled our water and soft drinks without being told to! A rare bonus, considering there are multiple restaurants with waiters and waitresses who tend to ignore this crucial component! And finally, the atmosphere was intense and yet peaceful at the same time with the hibachi chefs putting on a show from far away while you are in your own table just eating away! Wasn't there to eat any of the hibachi food, but I think seeing it a couple tables away was enough for me! I highly recommend this place and wish I could give it 6/5 stars! Can't stress how much I loved this place for my first-time experience! P.S. A little pricey, but worth it when you want to pig out!

Fabulous meal! We always do takeout from here but decided to dine in and we’re so glad we did the staff was incredible! Valentine roll (left) is especially delicious!

Google
The food is not that bad, it's delicious. Nothing to brag about, however the service could be better. Upon arrival, the hostess was not very helpful. She made it clear, that she herself never tried the food and could not recommend anything to us. So I played it safe, and ordered simple items. Also, there may have been a small language barrier with the waitress. Lastly, they did not allow my daughter to order what she wanted due to the chef advising he couldn't customize her yakisoba noodles. Which is weird, because she only asked to have the vegetables prepared separately instead of mixing with the noodles.

Google
The service was equally impressive, fast and prompt, making the whole dining experience more enjoyable. We usually order takeout but decided to dine in this time and it proved to be the right choice. The staff were fantastic and made you feel especially welcome.

Yelp
Came during Happy Hour on the weekend. Happy Hour times are: weekdays 4-6:30 pm and weekend 12-5pm Waiter was friendly and answered our questions. Orders came out speedy. Food was good. Definitely want to come back and take advantage of the AYCE! I didn't know about it during my visit!

Dinesh P.

Yelp
Hibachi was great and Chef Benny did a nice job entertaining our table as well. Very liberal with the sake streams from chef if you are able to keep up! Only downside was service or lack there of. The waitress took our drinks and hibachi order and that was the last we saw of any server. Couldn't order more drinks and was an ordeal to get some Sriracha sauce. That lack of service carried through to the end when no one showed up to take payment and we had to walk to them and request to pay after waiting for a long time. Nicely decorated place and the fish pond with Coy is relaxing to watch while waiting on a table.

Yelp
3.5 Star Food was extremely good. My family and I did the sushi a la carte. I feel like they should focus on hibachi because the sushi side was slow and they did not focus on that side as much. We ordered food from the hibachi side and it was delicious. The fried rice was amazing!

Eleni J.

Yelp
We happened to be nextdoor at Tylor Asian Market and decided to give this place a try. It's way more spacious than the outside seems like. It's a typical sushi, hibachi place as the restaurant's name suggests. Here is why I only gave them one star: They didn't time things properly. My sushi order came out way earlier than my husband's hibachi dish. In fact, after waiting a solid 30 minutes, his hibachi never came!!! We ended up paying for my sushi, coke and left. There's no official apology or anything from the owner. It's a nightmare with only one simple nonchalant "sorry"!

Allyson M.

Yelp
This place never disappoints, the staff is excellent and they even accommodated us after part of our party being 40 minutes past our reservation. Your entire party has to be there for hibachi before they can seat you. The chef was so good and personable. He was funny and very entertaining. The food is always delicious and it was again tonight. My fav is the chicken shrimp duo which comes with vegetables, fried rice, and noodles. They serve miso soup and salad with ginger dressing for starters. We sometimes order appetizers, as my mom ordered the fried oysters this thing me. They were delish. I've ordered sushi in the past and it was always so good. Great place for birthdays, or any type of family/friend gathering. We actually had the table to ourselves, as it were 6 of us. Totally recommend this place.

Mee S.

Yelp
I only ordered to pick up by my husband so we have never actually eaten at the restaurant so we wanna give a try today. We are sitting here for almost 25 mins confused of what to do and what to order. We were seated, no one actually explained what we could order and recommended anything. The waitress gave us a sheet of paper and left, after 5 mins we had to call and asked for a pen. After 5 more mins we called somebody out to ask because we were confused of what we could order in the menu. After exactly 25 mins, we were completely ignored. If you saw the photo, we had 2 adults and 1 kid, which we were given 1 single set of table setting. The waitress came out and gave me my salad and I told her we were missing table settings. She ran to grab it and not saying anything, then left. I don't even wanna try the food here because honestly we don't feel welcomed. I will not revisit this place.

Yelp
Good food and service. The chef was excellent. The presentation was awesome. I would recommend your attending for dinner .

Yelp
One of the best Asian buffet I have been to. Food came out fast and sushi was fresh, and they have raw oysters ahhh!!! Love it! Bbq and sushi best combo

Yelp
Party of 2 dined in sunday evening... huge space inside - sushi and bar in front and hibachi&bbq in the back. we were escorted in the back as we reserved for ayce ; they just started(i made reservations over facebook business account chat) We were escorted in the back promptly. We were pretty starving. Ordered miso soup, house salad and Takoyaki for appetizers (so many tempting choices makes me greedy but I managed to keep it down to 3) and 3 rolls (not all of their regular menu is included in the ayce options and no sashimi) and bbq meats. Salad did not look that pretty (?) but the dressing was banging! 3 rolls were pretty appetizing appealing. Be aware bbq meats come in smaller portion so if you can eat alot (?) mark quantity accordingly on the order sheet. They have so many good options for meats; porks, beef, duck breast, lamb, prime rib eye (very thin slices) scallops... I instantly regretted ordering too much (?) rolls since rice was pretty filling and I couldn't really dig in bbq.. Only downside was there was no proper sauce for bbq as they were new probably... and serving was bit slow in between providing meats so order plenty and ahead! Seems like 30 mins before closing time is their last call, the server informed us to order for the last time but we were full... The manager (?) was very attentive, smiley and nicely kept checking on us Bill came with (25% promo this month -$9 from 35.99... $26.99 per person) and $7 for 2 Soda.. pretty decent price for ayce I can totally see myself revisiting here but hopefully they had more sauce options!

Yelp
Place is super fun. My kids enjoy it and kids eat free Tuesday thru Thursday. You get a good amount of food and the food is very good. My only real complaints would be the food can be a little inconsistent depending on what chef you get and the place can be pretty loud. Overall, they put on a good hibachi show and it is reasonably priced for what you get as you get plenty of food. Everything I have eaten here is tasty and I highly recommend.

Ian K.

Yelp
Our experience at Kabuto was top notch. Made a reservation for 7 on a Saturday and we're seated within 10 minutes. When at the table the service was quick, and understood the small wait for our chef. All four tables were taken up prior to our arrival. What we snagged: -Hibachi chicken, filet, lobster, NY strip, and all the fixings. There was PLENTY of food. Noodles and rice to start, and very crispy veggies. The ONLY downside is the amount of salt/soy in every dish. It's too much. My fingers were fatter than a tree trunk the follow day. Next time we go, we'll will be sure to ask them to take us easy on the salt/soy. We'll 100% be back here. Maybe try the bar for some of their sushi. That also looked good.

Jeff L.

Yelp
A group of us went out here for sushi and bbq, but they also offer traditional dine in as well as hibachi. The concept here is really nice and I think it has a lot of potential. I was really interested in this place because usually all you can eat bbq comes with all you can eat hot pot. While I do like hot pot, this is the ONLY place near here that offers all you can eat bbq and sushi for one price. The sushi was pretty good, although their all you can eat menu didn't have any descriptions - so you had to shuffle between that menu, and the traditional menu just to see what you were ordering. The big flop for me with this place is the bbq. The selection of foods available was not bad at all. The downside was the lack of flavor on the meats that came pre-seasoned, and for the food that came unseasoned, all you had was salt and pepper. A lot of the bbq places I've been before have an entire sauce bar, along with other ingredients that ei, garlic, scallions, cilantro, sesame seeds, onions, peppers, etc. The only sauces available to dip or marinate your bbq was some very sweet sauce (I don't know what it was, another sauce with a soy base, and creamy Italian dressing . Again, I didn't try their regular dine in option or the hibachi, although the hibachi table behind us looked very good and entertaining. I think if they improve their bbq option, this place would really hit it off. We drive an hour to get bbq in the city, and this place is only 20 minutes away ( plus it has sushi). I would absolutely go back for their hibachi since the table behind us seemed to have a good experience, and I hope management can improve the bbq experience because I would like to go back.

Yelp
This is my second time coming to this restaurant and it never misses! It was my boyfriends first time and he enjoyed his food. The service was amazing, our serve was actually the bartender and he recommend a delicious cocktail. We were in and out quick, there was not a wait time since we went before dinner time, but it was a nice experience.

Yin C.

Yelp
Took over 30 minutes for our first round of sushi to arrive, and the next round also took over 30 minutes. They then ran out of sushi rice and were not able to give us the other two rolls we ordered. The nigiri was not fresh and very fishy. For an all you can eat place they need to hire more staff in the kitchen to keep up with the demands of an all you can eat. In addition we still had to pay full price even though they ran out of food. I do not recommend going to this restaurant.

Mike B.

Yelp
Showed up last night at 8:03 pm and we were told they could not seat us for Hibachi. Their closing time is posted as 9pm so we were very confused as to why they wouldn't seat us and the hostess told us that last call was at 8:30. Once again it was only 8 when we arrived. There was also another family that was being turned away for the same reason.

Valeriya G.

Yelp
Great experience. We were here for a small family dinner with my parents. We sat at a booth instead of the hibachi area (I'm personally not a fan of the heat from the stove). It was quiet and easy to have a conversation with family. I can't have gluten (celiac, very sensitive) and greatly appreciate how transparent they were about all the food options. That the hibachi could be made gluten free in the back on a pan, and the hostess worked with the waiter (who didn't really understand the gluten, but took it seriously enough to call his boss) to make sure it was gluten free. I had 2 special rolls and miso soup, left feeling fairly full, and with no gluten reaction afterwards. Would definitely come back.

Rob M.

Yelp
Yes yes yes. There is no better sushi in the area. Try the pearl river and you will never go anywhere else

P J.

Yelp
Hibachi used to be the thing but these days it's all about Korean bbq. This joint is outdated and overpriced. It will probably do down soon. Not a fan.

Cheyenne R.

Yelp
Food was fresh & delicious. Great selection. Staff was very nice & helpful. Good price. We will come back again soon!

Lilliana T.

Yelp
We came here a couple of times and this time we gave the AYCE sushi & BBQ a try. It was kind of disappointing. Their fried chicken was dry. Meat were not fresh, pork belly too thin and mostly fat. The steaks came out unseasoned so you have to season it yourself with the salt and pepper they provided. One piece of steak came out brown so it can't be that fresh. The marinade they use for the meat isn't that good either. If you plan on ordering sushi be careful because they stuff the rolls with A LOT of rice. One roll would get you full. Giving it a 3 star because if you order of their regular menu, the stuff ain't that bad and service is good.

Rachel S.

Yelp
Such a fabulous experience and meal. Started off with the tuna amazing roll as an appetizer. Very tasty but took 53 minutes to get..... Also should note that you can not take advantage of happy hour deals while sitting at the hibachi table. If we are ordering hibachi anyways and want to get some extras I personally don't think that's right... but their loss. We would have ordered more. Then our table did the hibachi. The chef put on a great show and was very friendly and funny. Everything was delicious and was a massive portion like for typical hibachi serving. It was so good that everyone ended up finishing it all (stomach was happy but not happy with me to say the least haha). Would definitely return!

Jon M.

Yelp
6 kids and 6 adults. Great first time for the kids. Super personable and friendly. They loved the baby sake trick! Will be back!!

Diana L.

Yelp
Rating out of 10: 10 I came here twice and will keep coming back! The filet mignon was DIVINE. The rice was orgasmic- the noodles were alright but overall 30 dollars for a filet mignon hibachi dinner w noodles, fried rice, veggies, salad, and miso soup.

Amanda M.

Yelp
Great hibachi experience! Very kid friendly (kids eat free at hibachi tues-Thursdays). Food is always made well and great sushi selection. I can't wait to come back and try the Korean bbq!

Joseph O.

Yelp
We have the AYCE BBQ and Sushi. The meats are all good and flavorful - recommend the spicy pork belly, cube steak, bulgogi, takoyaki, and seafood pancake; The sushi are decent. I wish they had more menu/food selection for AYCE. The meat and sushi, and menu selection are very limited especially for an AYCE, but you'll get your fill and money's worth. Service is good and friendly, and quick. Minus one star because the last sushi and seaweed salad we put in, never came out. The ambiance is nice and spacious, the exhaust wasn't working properly, the smoke was going to my face and I had to move seat. But for the price, and amount of food we ate, it was a good value.

Audra D.

Yelp
Best happy hour deal around. Half price sushi and cocktails from a limited menu until 6 pm. It's become a favorite too-hot-to-cook retreat.

Lynn S.

Yelp
The stars are for our chef. He was just lovely and kept us entertained. The quality of the food was poor, at best. Over oiled tasteless food. The quality needs improving as does the seasoning. I was very much underwhelmed and didn't eat most of my food. We also waited 10 min for a hostess to appear upon arrival and we weren't seated for 45 after our reservation time

Dean A.

Yelp
Really really bad service. Waited 40 minutes for a simple hibachi dish before leaving. Restaurant wasn't busy and the waiter kept avoiding me. They didn't even refill my soda, which cost $3.50, I wouldn't mind that price if I got at least one refill.

Lindsay A.

Yelp
Great sushi, quick service and quick pick up orders! Amazing time for hibachi, we have been here several times!

K H.

Yelp
First time visitor; the service was wonderful and the food better. Ordered Scallops, which were perfectly prepared and serving size was exceptional... and outstanding value. Wife ordered steak, which was also quite well prepared. Our dinners came with soup, salad, fried rice and vegetables; all included in entrée price. Will return soon as this will probably become our go to choice for local casual dining.

Leila R.

Yelp
Umm there was a thick hair in my sallit and I got zilch for my inconvenience an the manager won't talk to me

Alice M.

Yelp
The food was delicious and delivered in a timely manner. The Chef was excellent in presentation and skilled in preparation of the all the entrees. We had our own setup. The ambiance was nice.

Delvia W.

Yelp
This is one of my top favorite places to go! Prices & portions are theee best!!! Always take a togo bag. Parking: lot. Next to Big Lots Atmosphere: awesome! The decor screams N.Y.C to me. Service: excellent! Attentive. Food: Fresh & flavorful! Kabuto Bento: teriyaki chicken- tinder and delicious Fried rice- fresh and light kabuto salad- regular ol salad but it's the dressing that makes it. Tasty!! Half California roll- ok nothing to write home about. I put spicy mayo on it and I love that they serve low sodium soy sauce. Awesome! Appetizer comes with it also. I got the ahi tuna dumplings. Omg! Delightful. Full of flavor and with a spicy sauce drizzled over bite size pieces. I would like a full order of those! My friend had the California and Boston rolls and she enjoyed. Drink: Dragon nectar. Good but needed more alcohol. I didn't taste any. If you don't like sweet drinks, this is not for you. Overall this place is very nice. Going back for happy hour. Can't wait! Enjoy

Linda T.

Yelp
The food is wonderful. The staff is great, and fast. Crowded tonight! Would recommend them to anyone.

Robert H.

Yelp
We had a great meal but we're disappointed with the bill. We started with the Happy Hour and were not charged the posted wine prices. When we went in for dinner, we were told to scan the menu with our phones. When that bill came, again we were over charged on the posted prices. The waitress said "the manager hadn't changed them on line yet." Why not honor the posted prices OR tell consumers prior to ordering??

Siu F.

Yelp
Went there with the whole family and kids were able to be distracted with the fishes in the entrance, the host was super nice with them and we loved the AYCE sushi and bbq! We'll be there more often.

Rose H.

Yelp
I'm Asian and my husband is white. Before we got together, he had tried Asian food only a couple of times in his life. Married now over 19 years and he appreciates Japanese, korean, Chinese and Thai food and knows the difference. He knows what is good. I would call this before I met him "white people" Asian. Basically watered down bland version. This is place is not representative of good Japanese food and I hope if you ever want to try Japanese, you don't start here. If you eat Spicy Nacho Doritos and think it's actually spicy, this place is for you. This place gets a B for overall decor and service and F for food.

Alana G.

Yelp
Kabuto has a great vibe and the decor is beautiful. Dropped by this week for dinner. We were seated within a few minutes of arriving - it wasn't packed given it was a Monday night. My brother and I split the chicken lettuce wraps (the chicken was flavorful) and each ordered the Maki B (spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spicy crab) which is served with miso soup and salad - we find it to be well-priced and delicious. The soup and salad came out first within 5 minutes of ordering. The chicken lettuce wraps came soon after - nothing required much of a wait. We just missed happy hour but noticed they had good food and drink options on that menu from 4:30-6:30pm (edited: on certain days). They also have a lunch special to take advantage of. I've also ordered takeout within the last couple of months and enjoyed the Maki B and shrimp shumai. My family and I recommend trying it out.

Christopher T.

Yelp
Awesome experience, fast and very attentive service, good food. Ambiance is great for a date as well

Justin L.

Yelp
Excellent service and delicious food coupled with an excellent atmosphere makes for a delightful date night

Maddie C.

Yelp
We love this place! We come for happy hour almost every week, the sushi is amazing. We come for hibachi too when we have a bigger group, and we always have a great time! The service is always great, as well as the drinks and food.

Lucy C.

Yelp
good food and show but long/ irregular waits very nice, clean space and good appetizers

Nellie C.

Yelp
good food and good service- typically have to wait a little bit but worth the wait. the chefs have always been great and very personable!

Kevin M.

Yelp
Large, open indoor dining area with nice decor. Sanitizer at the entrance and they check guests' temperatures before seating them. Service: I did takeout but when I arrived, there were two parties waiting ahead of me and no one at the front desk. No one showed up for ~3 minutes, so curious as to how long the others were waiting... regardless I doubt this is normal. Food: Sushi Dinner - 3/5 stars - 10 pieces of nigiri, which consisted of 3 tuna, 3 salmon, 2 yellowtail, and 2 albacore. Would have been nice to get some more variety / exotic types of sushi in the dish. The rice was lacking seasoning and may have been just normal rice. On a positive note, the pieces were decently sized. The dish came served with a salad (no dressing), miso soup and an... Ocean Roll - 3/5 stars - Inside out roll filled with equal parts tuna, salmon and avocado. A pretty straight forward roll and is exactly what you'd expect the roll to be. Overall, decent sushi but will not be my go-to in the area. They have some other menu options that my be worth checking out.

Lily W.

Yelp
Kabuto is a solid choice for a good meal to celebrate a special occasion. My husband and I come here usually for our birthdays and when our friends are visiting. Usually the wait isn't bad, but sometimes it can be a bit longer due to I believe short staffed. Regardless of the wait time, we always have a great time here, always quite an experience. The food is on point and the chef always put on a fun show.

Tyneisha M.

Yelp
This place has been so clutch during Covid. Utilized pick up and dined in for sushi. The food is tasty and the service was friendly.

Jacqueline M.

Yelp
Went with a group of six (three adults, three kids) to Kabuto for the first time last weekend and was not disappointed. It was a Saturday night, and we were still able to make a reservation day of. We had a few minutes' wait upon arrival (which was kindly communicated to us by the hostess), but the kids were entertained by the fish at the entrance. Our hibachi chef was fun and engaging. He rolled with the punches when the kids made comments throughout the show. The food was solid. They even comped the birthday girl's meal and brought out a cupcake without asking. Overall, it was a great experience. Check it out next time you're in the mood for hibachi or are looking for a fun meal experience.

Nikki C.

Yelp
Can't comment on the food because we had to leave at the 90 minute mark past our reservation time. We were a party of 8, 4 adults and 4 kids and there was 1 visible hibachi chef for the first hour we were sitting, all tables packed. Finally, two more hibachi chefs appeared, only to cook for the two tables who walked in and were seated after us. Highly not recommended.

Teisha D.

Yelp
Great sushi hour hour special daily! Sushi is fresh and tastes great! Our service is always wonderful!
