"Kadbanu, Dundas West by Sovereign State. Kadbanu opened in the winter of 2014, bring Persian flavour to the street. The space is bright, tall and light envelops the restaurant thanks to wraparound windows. It’s a great spot to sit down and enjoy lunch, their lentil soup being the perfect dish to indulge in when it’s cold outside. Kadbanu offers a wide selection of unique sandwiches, stews and dinner plates. Make sure to leave room for cocktails, especially the Safka which is saffron infused vodka, sour cherry juice and pomegranate seeds."

It's quite a beautiful space, great for 2-4 people to a group, and reasonably comfortable. Menu is great, although not what I'd call a good value. Food was good, tea was good, definitely enjoyed it, but ended up having to supplement my meal after with a small sandwich/croissant. Would go again if I were in the area, but I wouldn't say I'd make a special trip just to have brunch here. Come here for a light brunch, good drinks, beautiful space, and the overall atmosphere.

The quality of food is good, Mirza Ghasemi was delicious. portions compare to the prices charged are really small. Just a FYI, There are no kebabs on the menu, very few Persian dish options. Perhaps this place is better for brunch.

The restaurant, as you can see in the picture, is located at the corner of the block, and it has a lot of big windows. It’s painted white, and it has a high ceiling. All these make a very open space and bright atmosphere which is perfect for the brunch or lunch time. The portions were very very small, and everything was too expensive for the size. I ordered “Khorak e Zaban” (restaurant menu: “braised beef tongue with jus, served with side pickles, and barbari bread"), which was not fresh, not hot, and it felt like heated up leftovers from last night! Other people at my table got other things. The quality of their food was better, but theirs was small and expensive too. By the way, all the items are about $1 more expensive than what you see in their website. Up to this point, even though I'm not satisfied with my food, I was still happy (maybe because I was with my friends and we were having a good time), but something happened that changed the whole experience. One of my friends wrote a review online while we were waiting for the bills, and the owner asked my friend what he didn't like. And when my friend started explaining the whole price/size thing, she said something like that was an appetizer and started walking away mumbling stuff. I have never seen an owner/manager being rude and not caring about their customers’ opinion! Since I know the owner will read this review, I will address the rest to her. I understand if you were not ready for the lunch menu, but you should have told us before we order anything. You claimed that “Khorak e Zaban” was an appetizer, but it was listed under main courses in the lunch menu. Even appetizers are not that small. It was more like a sample. All this aside, and let’s for a moment assume we’re wrong about what the size of a lunch item should be and etc. The least you could do was not being rude and listen to what we had to say, and you can ignore it later (which you shouldn't). I know you don't care, but I will not come back to your restaurant, and if anyone asks my opinion, I will strongly recommend against it.

If you wanna pay $45 for one main dish (Beef stroganoff) + one appetizer (2 spoon of two table spoons of tomato sauce and 5 grams of cow tongue) , then go to Kadbanu. The sad part was when we decided to talk to the owner, she rudely ignored my comments. Very poor management and such a bad experience. Close the business down if you are too busy to talk to your clients or you don't care about them!

Although the food was very tasty, the portions are very small. My table of 4 all left hungry. We had to remind our server abouy our drinks more than once.

They are doing summerlicious. Summerlicious is a tasting menu where we try a few courses but smaller portions. If they shrink the portion I'm afraid we will be left only with crumbs. Food is decent, prices are high. I hope the owners do a 360 to save this place

Find some very traditional iranian dishes, good cocktails and a beautiful litle space right in Dundas West. Been for dinner and brunch and loved it everytime. I tried the rice-chicken dish with a few iranian friends who mentioned how authentic it was.

It's not amazing but the food is good and the presentation is excellent. Couple that with the large, simple, and clean motif of the restaurant and that is why I keep coming back.
