AMAZING, I went for the first time today and I loved all the food, I tried “basic” stuff from the menu to play it safe but to me, they were delicious. Service was amazing as well, waitresses were always checking on us and being super nice and efficient. The place was perfect for a dinner of 2 or even more, even though it was small, it didn’t feel packed. Rather homie, I felt really comfortable there and their food has become one of my comfort foods!!

Google
Nothing really stood out here. It was just alright. Service was wonderful, but the sushi rolls were very loosely rolled and made a mess and my sons chicken in his teriyaki bowl had too many charred pieces. Would like to come back and try the ramen, but will skip on the others.

Luci Lima

Google
It would be 5 stars if the ramen was made with traditional noodles. I was really looking forward to enjoying a comforting bowl of ramen, but I was disappointed to find that the restaurant used regular spaghetti noodles instead of traditional ramen noodles made with kansui. The broth and toppings were really good, but the noodles are such an essential part of ramen that it completely changed the dish. I hope they consider switching to authentic chūkamen to give customers the real experience. Takoyaki was good 5.8/10

I have waited until we had sampled this place at least four different times on different days and different times before completing this review. Kaen Na Ramen & Sushi in Visalia is a hidden gem that delivers big on flavor and service! Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, but a few standouts made the experience unforgettable. The Spicy Salmon Roll had just the right kick, balanced perfectly with fresh, buttery salmon. The Fried Sexy Jalapeño Roll was a flavor explosion--crispy, creamy, spicy, and totally addictive. We also loved the Spicy Garlic Edamame--the perfect starter to wake up the taste buds. The Poke Salad was fresh, light, and beautifully presented, and both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Black Clover Ramen were rich, comforting, and deeply flavorful. You can tell the broth is made with care and passion. Speaking of passion, Johnny the sushi chef is an absolute delight. He's not only incredibly skilled but also super personable and fun to watch. He welcomes questions and clearly enjoys connecting with customers, which adds a special touch to the whole dining experience. Service here is consistently excellent--attentive, friendly, and prompt. The only downside is that the restaurant is on the smaller side, with limited seating. But honestly, that just adds to its charm and cozy ambiance. It feels like you've stumbled into a well-kept secret. Highly recommend Kaen Na if you're in the area--you won't be disappointed!

Google
This is the best sushi/Ramen spot in town! Service was impeccable, atmosphere was sublime, food was delicious. We will definitely be going again. The restaurant was a little on the warmer side, but understandable as they had an open kitchen. Loved all the anime decorations. We will definitely be going back. Can't wait until winter weather comes so we can take full advantage of their delicious Ramen!

2-15-25 This is an update❗️ service has went down waiting for a table and a couple just walks in front of us and she noticed us there before but gave them the table and it was a regular table their reservation tables has a placard on it this is how you get identified a reservation table and not a regular table tried also calling for a reservation for a table and no one have an answer for the last 20 minutes if this is going to be there common service then most like you were going to have to go somewhere else I will not stand for this been a while before I gave a 5 out of five but it was well worth it we spend a total of $90 and every cent was worth it the pictures I'm putting up was very good I believe the soup could not use the corn cuz it would overpower it but overall taste the flavor of the food and I have travel to Nevada Arizona New Mexico Texas Eamon been to the Fresno volcano Style seafood Japanese style and I paid close to $235 and this place out beat that and don't forget to try the sake my favorite is the peach cold and I know it's usually serve hot but I like it cold

Google
Absolutely amazing food. Such an intimate setting with amazing food. You can tell the food was made with detail and skill as I noticed the smiles on the chef faces. Prices were decent and the service was good.

Google
I really love their Ramen! It’s superrrrrrr flavorful and delicious! I also enjoy their sushi but I go here mainly for their Ramen. Pick up is SUPER fast. No long waiting. Overall I absolutely love their ramen. I give it a 5/5. My partner got a rice bowl and he gave it a 3/10…but hey this is my review not his🤣 Customer service is great and staff is super friendly and welcoming! Give them a shot yourself if your looking for some tasty quick ramen.🙏

Yelp
Was in the area for work and suddenly craving yellowtail collar --so I checked Yelp and stumbled on this gem. Walked in, and the staff at the bar were super welcoming. Always order miso soup first because it's the ultimate vibe check--and yes, it was amazing . Everything tasted ridiculously fresh. Started with a cucumber salmon roll (no rice) and wow... fresh and delicious. Then came the yellowtail collar. I waited 20 minutes, but oh... my... goodness. Knees weak, heart racing, face probably red--it was crispy perfection on the outside, juicy in the middle, and that sauce? Chef's kiss . Tony, the sushi chef, is a legend--super attentive and makes rolls that are just next-level. Highly recommend if you're in the area, and don't forget to ask Tony about his Jiu-Jitsu competition in Vegas !

Yelp
Came in Saturday night. They were super nice and let us reserve a table. Inside it was almost at full capacity, the music was playing at a fairly good volume that blocked out ambient conversation but we could still hear each other. It was a mix of oriental sounding music that sounded straight out of Edo period and a cool night-groove track. Around the bar looked like original art and paintings of different anime. The vibe inside was actually really nice and helped get the saliva flowing. Aka Buddy role- mango white fish, shrimp tempura $18 great. Not spicy Dragon roll $17- unagi was good, avocado solid. Shrimp tempura also tastes good Sexy jalapeño $18 spicy mayo sauce with fried sliced jalapeños and spicy tuna inside Mochi ice cream- $6.95. Was ok, nice of the kitchen to split into 4. 3 pieces. Gyudon- beef over rice. $13.95 may or may not be worth the price. Probably wouldn't get again Salmon sashimi and Ikura over rice $19 Nice slices of salmon and little spoon of previously frozen Ikura. I was glad they even offered it

Yelp
Small little sushi place in the old Kmart shopping center, but it never disappoints!! I love coming here for the ramen even when it's summer. The servers are always friendly and quick to bring food out, great little spot for good ramen and sushi in Visalia

Publius S.

Yelp
A shout out to Pin, the server. Nice lady. She remembers me and what I usually order. That is true customer service. My go-to spot in Visalia for sushi. Everyone does rolls, but not all do Nigeri. Kaen does a nice job with them.
google avatar

Harvey W.

Yelp
They really earn this rating! Sashimi deluxe with sushi rice and edemame. Sapporo on draft?! Yes, please! Super hot saki. Couldn't leave without trying the spicy tun roll. Shout out to Micah and. Peen. Great service and friendly laid back vibe. But, the sushi!!!

Yelp
Mob psycho roll. Phenomenal, Black clover ramen EXTRA SPICY, if you can hang, phenomenal. My favorite servers. Amazing staff. Love the tiny corner vibe too. My favorite.

Yelp
My wife and I visited here based on the reviews. It did not disappoint. Very packed place for a Tuesday night but we were seated right away. The portion size is big compared to other sushi spots we tried around the area. To us it's in our top two favorite sushi spots. We will be back. Thank you guys.!

Yelp
We love this place, we do, and I've previously given 5 star review but our last experience was just ehhhhh. My sushi roll, the rice wasn't packed tight enough and the bottom end kept falling apart. The garlic edamame had zero flavor on it and for $7.49 we only got a handlful of them. I still love this place, but they just dropped the ball this time. We will be back to see if they go back to the 5 stars they used to be.

Yelp
The best Tontaksu Ramen I have ever eaten -- recommended!!! The broth is out of this world. The service is amazing. This was our second time eating here in three days. If we lived here, we'd be regulars. Wow! Wow! Wow!

Yelp
My family loves this place, I finally had a chance to try it tonight, amazing food. Love the cozy vibe, it was very busy, we sat at the bar, excellent fresh quality food all made to order. We had a chance to watch all the sushi being made in front of us. Portions are very good and there is something for everyone. We love the anime decor! Thank you guys! Awesome food, we'll be back!

Yelp
Cozy corner spot for ramen and sushi. Came in around 5pm on a Saturday night and just beat the dinner rush. We were able to easily get a table for 4. Service was attentive but sometimes uncoordinated. Multiple servers came to us asking similar questions which got confusing. But I did notice as some people walked in, they were greeted by the wait staff like they were regulars so that was promising. Sushi and nigiri were decent portions. Shoyu ramen broth was a little salty and the tonkatsu ramen broth was just ok. We might stick to their rolls and nigiri next time. By the time we left, there was a nice sized crowd already forming outside waiting for tables to open up.

Yelp
The good: the calamari, veggie tempura and sushi roll was good. Cons: the ramen & chicken teriyaki was not good. My sister ordered the same ramen as I. After placing an order and waiting for 15 mins, found out they ran out of pork chasiu, so we sub for chicken. The chicken was overcooked and dry (just like the chicken teriyaki). When they brought out the ramen, one had an egg and the other didn't. They failed to tell us, so when i asked about the egg turns out they ran out and didn't say anything. Not a fan.

Yelp
Omg... came here on a calm Wednesday evening and had the greatest spicy tuna roll in Visalia! I love the anime-atmosphere of the restaurant, as it feels very quirky yet pop-culture inspired. I was not strong enough to handle their Rengoku (Demon Slayer) spicy ramen! Too spicy! The waitress did warn me & the manager did apologize, but they did not need too! I love spicy food, and recommend the bowl to those who have high spice tolerance. The edamame is also very good, and the service was top-notch. Their california rolls were also very delicious!

Yelp
This place used to be my absolute favorite for ramen, especially the Black Clover Ramen which was always incredible. Unfortunately, our latest visit was a big letdown--the food was off, and the service was worse. The waitress, who was dressed in a pink hoodie and sweats, barely said a word to us and didn't check on our table even once. We had to wave her down multiple times, feeling like we were a bother. To make matters worse, it took almost fifteen minutes to bring us the bill. The owner happened to walk in, and I asked him for the bill. When I mentioned the ramen was too spicy and not the same, he just shook his head as if he didn't understand English. I won't be back. I'll just take my business to Sushi Kuu.

Yelp
It was pretty busy like usual! Service was great My friend got the California roll. I got a spicy jalepeno & the rainbow roll
google avatar

Jordan K.

Yelp
The service here is great! Super friendly, very helpful. One person we were dining with had been there previously and didn't remember what roll they got but had a photo and our sever was able to tell her what it was. I ordered the Black Clover ramen with garlic chili oil on the side, another in our group ordered the Miso ramen, and the other ordered a sushi roll. The Black Clover ramen was delicious, I love a tonkatsu broth and theres was delicious. The chashu pork was really good, although I wish they put more of it in there. But none the less it was really good. We also got the tempura vegetables and those were great. I tried the sushi roll as well and it was really good. It had imitation crab inside and spicy tuna on top as well as spicy mayo, eel sauce, and siracha.
google avatar

Yelp
Everything was pretty good. Service and ambiance was nice. Didn't wait to be seated and went in around 7 on a Friday evening. Got spicy chicken wings, spicy miso ramen which had a strange smell to it or maybe that's just how it's supposed to smell but it tasted fine, and sushi and all were adequate. Pricing was fair

Michael G.

Yelp
Fantastic ramen, recommend the spicy black clover ramen. Amazing service, and the anime/manga theme of the restaurant was a nice touch.

Yelp
It was laidback and pleasant. Good food and service. Very enjoyable. I will go back next time in town.

Yelp
Went here a couple months back and all I can say is I'm missing their food so much. Everything was delicious and the service is absolutely amazing. My friends and I went here a couple times before i unfortunately had to move, but I'm yet to find another place better than this place. The whole environment was just so amazing, everyone was super kind and welcoming and it was overall an experience to remember. If I ever go back to that state, I'll definitely visit again! 10/10!

Yelp
Always a great place to get Ramen in Visalia! Always satisfies the Ramen craving. This time we got Tonkotsu Ramen, Cucumber Salad, Ikigai roll, and beef teriyaki bento box all to go and all very delicious.
google avatar

Megan R.

Yelp
The best sushi place in town! Staff are respectful and hardworking. I always feel at home. I am including photos of the updated menu!

菊

Yelp
The tuna sashimi is very fresh, but a little thin. I prefer thick cuts. There was only big eye tuna when I went there. It would be better if there was a bluefin tuna. I like the Seaside roll so much. There are tuna, avocado, shredded crabmeat in it and topped with salmon. Ramon is also good!

Angela S.

Yelp
Has a good menu. Plenty of different types of sushi, etc. I wish there were more types of meat for the ramen. Vegetarian or pork only. But I ordered sushi and it was yummy. The server was attentive and the order was brought promptly. The place is very casual. Good and bad. Casual is good but reminded me of a small cafeteria with a sushi bar.

Yelp
Second time picking up ramen to-go and I can't even understand why the heck we haven't been again before tonight! The BEST ramen I've ever had! Husband loved it too. Huge portions and super friendly staff! We will definitely be adding this place to our regular rotation.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
The sushi rolls are the best I have ever. The tempura was great. The food is very fresh. The restaurant is small and romantic good service.
google avatar

M J.

Yelp
Haven't tried their ramen yet but I'm sure it's just as good as their sushi. Always fresh it never disappoints, take out takes a bit but I don't mind because I know it was made fresh. Friendly staff too.

Yelp
Service: If I could give 0 star I would do it. I went there for my birthday dinner with my family on a Saturday night. They were accommodating a huge birthday party at the restaurant which took up a few tables. Upon arrival, this big group of people already finished their food. Then they did the cake, sang the birthday song. Afterwards they were sitting there and chitchatting for a long time. At the end, they used different credit cards to pay separately which took a long time as well. At that time, we noticed that another 2 tables became available. We'd been waiting for 1.5 hours with 2 seniors and 2 young kids. I suggested that they should put those 2 tables together so that 6 of us could sit down perfectly. Staff was not helpful at all. They insisted that these 2 tables should be reserved for another party of 6 which was still on the way to the restaurant, and we should wait for the big birthday party to leave then they would set up the table for us. But we were already there for a long time. I don't understand why they didn't let us sit down first and gave another table to those people who were still on the way. Food: This is worst Japanese food I've ever had. I doubted why this restaurant got so many good reviews on Yelp. Are those fake reviews? My husband's coworker who is from Visalia also said that this was not a good Japanese restaurant. Sushi Kuu is the best in the area. We ordered a few bento boxes and ramen noodles. Everything was too salty. They used the same teriyaki sauce for all the bento boxes but apparently that was not a great one. It was super salty. And bento boxes were not that authentic since it didn't come with a salad or miso soup which you usually see in other Japanese restaurants. California rolls that my kids and husband usually love to eat did not taste right, either. Anyways, I will not go back. I'm not from Visalia and was just traveling at that time. If I do go back to Visalia one day, I will not go back to this restaurant.

Yelp
This ramen is ridiculous... Do yourself a favor and get an extra egg in yours, and don't forget to try the spicy ramen. We are LUCKY to have this place in Visalia

Tim D.

Yelp
Went there Wednesday for the first time and went back with my family on Thursday for my birthday. I can't get enough of this place. They surprised me with a piece of deep fried cheesecake. Out of this world. You gotta try this place!!! Waitress "Pen" is the BEST!!!!
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
If you want great ramen and good sushi, this is the place. The service is excellent and Johnny at the sushi bar is polite, professional, and poised. The spicy garlic edamame is fire and don't miss out on the hot sake and a Sapporo.
google avatar

Kinsey C.

Yelp
We split a tonkatsu ramen and a dragon roll and they are perfect every time. One of our favorite places to eat.
google avatar

Ash B.

Yelp
Worth the drive from fresno area and so worth the wait Donnie and Johnny are awesome. This place makes you feel welcomed and at home at the same time sexy jalapeños roll and Mitsuri Roll

B S.

Yelp
We came here tonight for the first time. My husband and 2 of our kids. We all loved it. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious! We had miso ramen, bento box, sushi, fried cheesecake and it was all so yummy! We will definitely be back.

Griffin S.

Yelp
Got the miso ramen, and it was absolutely phenomenal. Loved the decorations themed around anime. And had servers coming to our table to check on us every ten minutes. 5 stars would definitely eat here again.

Yelp
First things first. This low score is the food. I'm not rating it because of poor service. Honestly I never rated foo this low but this is what I experienced. I love sushi and ramen. I was blessed to come from down south Orange County to LA to visit some of the best spots. I currently drive all the way to Lindsey for my fav sushi spot so when I was told there was one in Visalia that I have yet to try I was excited. We got there about 40 Mins to closing. I regret coming in at that time I don't like to rush or have employees wait for me to leave. Anyways I ordered the classic tonkatsu ramen. No spice. Right away I can tell it wasn't fresh. The noodles were way overcooked. I was disappointed. I store it up thinking maybe someone at home would like it so I wouldn't have wasted any money. No one did so it went to the trash. I then ordered a baked sushi that had red snapper on top? I forgot the name. Again was soo disappointed. It was cold and had no flavor. Again I ate it to not waste my money. Nonetheless my money was wasted. They also charge a fee for using a card and it's not like .35 cent or 50. To use it. It's a percentage based on your total. Mine was almost 2$. I shouldn't have to pay you to use credit debit and the fee be based off my total. Either charge a flat fee or say cash only. The waitress was nice.
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
Summary: If you dine here, stick to the appetizers and sushi. Service was a mess. Missing chopsticks and napkins. Napkins was given for only a table of four. Didn't get saucers when we ordered a sushi roll. Water wasn't topped off. My sis and I ordered the spicy tonkatsu ramen but they ran out of tonkatsu and asked us if we wanted to substitute the meat or cancel the order. We settled on getting a chicken substitute. When we received our order, one of ours was missing an egg. We inquired about the missing egg and they ran out of eggs as well. The missing egg was not comped at all. Plus, the egg was fully cooked, not runny. The chicken teriyaki was tough. Wouldn't order it again. The only good things were the tempura, calamari, and sushi roll.
google avatar

Michele A.

Yelp
Service is horrible here now. We ordered the tuna sampler as appetizer and it came out 15 minutes after ramen hit the table. Even after I told waitress to just cancel the tuna. They have decided that a whole hard boiled egg is Ok to splash in ramen. Normally the egg is soft boiled and cut in half to make eating it reasonable. Oh and the $22 tuna sampler is only 6 small slices. Not worth it. I feel bad leaving a 2 star review since we have been coming here for sushi since they opened. There is plenty of kitchen staff, but only 3 servers and only one of them is actively working.
google avatar

Adriana L.

Yelp
Everything was okay. The roll was very much mid. The teriyaki chicken was kind of dry. The egg rolls were okay. Service was quick, about 15 minutes wait. I did feel like the seating was too close to each other.

Ron S.

Yelp
Kaen Na has some of the best ramen and service I've ever had. The noodles are perfectly cooked, large, and clearly fresh. The flavor is excellent - I got the Rengoku and was NOT disappointed. It was not overwhelmingly spicy but rather the flavor and heat mingled really well. The chashu pork was the star of the show. Their sashimi is fresh and reasonably priced.

Yelp
The food tastes delicious, the service is great and the ambiance is warm and inviting. Love eating here!!!!

Yelp
The Boston Roll and the 3-Stars and a Sun Roll were amazing! The server was so attentive and friendly. We got our food super fast and super fresh. The place is small, cozy and comfortable.

Bill B.

Yelp
I got the spicy miso ramen and it was by far and beyond the best ramen I've gotten in this part of the country. Food came out somewhat quick and the wait for a table was only about 5 minutes. Incredible spot!

Sara W.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Best ramen. There was a bit of a wait but it was shorter than expected. The service was AMAZING. Very friendly staff all of them. The rolls we ordered were on point.

Micaela J.

Yelp
One of our favorite spots in town! Usually get the Ramen since I don't eat raw fish but my husband loves the rolls.
google avatar

Manar Q.

Yelp
service was lagging when i went and it wasn't busy, i didn't get my water and service until 10 mins of just waiting. I probably just went on a bad day. the food on the other hand was great! casual little shop and i recommend it!

Yelp
Food and service were amazing. Our rolls were prepared to perfection. i see now why this establishment has 4.5 stars.

Yelp
We were in Visalia for work and were hungry. It's always a good time for sushi or ramen . Let's check out this place. We ordered one regular tonkostu and one spicy tonkotsu ramen. And we ordered a few rolls. Jalapeño roll never seen that before! Spicy crab yes please get in my mouth. Daily special nigiri black snapper that's new must try it! Also uni and otoro. Ramen was just ok. I like my noodles hard and they were way too soft for me. Soup was also a bit light. But I live near too many great ramen places so I'm picky. On to the sushi. Here's where they shine. First the jalapeño roll . They hollowed out jalapeños stuffed them with spicy tuna tempura battered them and fried omg so good!! The spicy crab had nice spice but you could still taste the delicate crab. Black snapper served with tiny slices of lemon. Excellent taste nice texture new one for me. I love otoro , their version stepped it up. They put caviar on it . Literally melted in my mouth!! I had two orders. My buddy also ordered a shrimp roll that I tried that was excellent as well. Hamachi nigiri was served with spicy garlic If you are on your way to Fresno you should check this place out!!!
