The pork rinds here are a thing of beauty. It was great in my Luang Prabang som tum, and I’m sure it was great in the tomato relish dip dish that every other table seemed to be ordering. The assam river prawns reminded me of a dish that my grandma used to cook. And the sirloin skewers, despite not being charred enough, still managed to be wonderfully moreish and flavourful.
I think this restaurant has lots of potential. Didn’t order much as I wasn’t very hungry that day, but I’ll be back soon to try more of their menu. Their focus on sourcing, from breeds of local pork for the sausages, down to the different kinds of rice, is admirable and something I wish we’d see more of in the context of casual restaurants like this.
