The Best Restaurants to Try in the LA Mountains This Summer | Eater LA

"Cafe Crepe is proof that crepes are just better in tree-lined mountain towns. Whether the peaks are snow-lined or the sun is beating down on the lake, this roadside cafe serving sweet and savory crepes is a must on any trip to Big Bear. Try the Little Goat with goat cheese, honey, and roasted almonds, or the Dark Side with Nutella, chocolate, or caramel. Crepes can also be customized with add-ons like strawberries, whipped cream, ham, and prosciutto. — Rebecca Roland, editor, Eater Southern California/Southwest" - Mona Holmes

If you’re fed up with all the IHop and Waffle House crap that the fast food industry is feeding us, go here. It is absolutely delicious! Fantastic place! ❤️

Google
This place is an absolute favorite of my family! We would come here every day if we could! Sweet Tooth is a classic. This place is always consistent and incredible.

Google
Wow! Cute little spot to get delicious 😋 Crepe. They have savory and sweet. Perfect size for 1 person or to share. Lots and lots of beverages to choose from and specialty drinks. This is a muct try.

Google
These are the best crepes in town. They have limited items that change often. Today my bf chose the comfort breakfast crepe on the limited menu and loved it. On their regular menu, I love the Buffalo Chicken Crepe. The service is always excellent but today the women working were extra helpful and pleasant. They also have several seasonal drinks available!

Google
Came here today and got the lemon raspberry crepe and mocha fappucino. It was 20 dollars 😅 The crepe itself was good but with the filling (a thin layer of lemon curd and like 5-6 raspberries), for 11 dollars, I would give it a 4/10. It was decent but definitely not worth the money. The frappucino has a good flavor and it's really smooth. I think it's a bit expensive for what you get. I definitely wish it tasted more like coffee. I'll come back someday and try their cookie butter one. Maybe if they had a strawberries and creme? But it's definitely overpriced.

Google
Delicious savory and sweet crepes! They have several specials that are themed and change each week, it's always hard to pick just one! They load their crepes up generously, much more substantial than what I'm used to getting when I order crepes from other places. They also have a great selection of beverages with creative flavor combos

Google
Their crepes are absolutely delicious, offering both sweet and savory perfection. The coffee is excellent, and the cozy atmosphere coupled with friendly service makes it ideal for a quick breakfast or a relaxed treat. A definite must-visit for anyone craving amazing crepes!

Google
Highly recommend this place! They have delicious food with large portions. My kids and I love it here. We ordered the Romanoff, the sweet tooth and birds milk. All were so yummy! The service was fast. The staff is very friendly and offered great suggestions. We will definitely come back.

Yelp
Just as delicious as we remembered. We decided to indulge with one of each the savory & sweet crepe choices. The flavor combinations with the freshest ingredients was cooked to perfection!! The inside is clean && cozy with the friendliest staff that makes ahhmazing suggestions. Look forward to our next visit with keeping our eye on the weekly specials.

Yelp
What a fun walk down memory lane! I've loved this place since their last Yelp Elite event, and after a stop into the neighboring coin store to sell some gold jewelry, I decided to treat myself to some golden cuisine. Indecision was a surprisingly easy trap to fall into, so I asked the friendly woman behind the counter for a recommendation. She offered me their specials for the week, which included a fantastic Basque crêpe. Leaning into our local culture, I opted for that, along with a refreshing strawberry cayenne lemonade. Everything was amazing! Especially the service. When she asked me how my drink was, I let her know that I loved the heat, and when she brought my savory crêpe out, she had some Cholula in hand. Talk about caring about your guests! I'm so happy to know that they have another location in Sparks by another name, Tallinn Creperia. I can't wait to visit!

Yelp
Food was amazing, fast service with a quiet and enjoyable atmosphere! The menu is so big that is difficult to choose between so many delicious dishes! Highly recommended

Yelp
Overall, we had a great time. The service was quick, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The crepe we ordered was amazing--turkey, cheese, and basil made it fresh and flavorful. It was the perfect meal on a cold, windy day. We also had two coffees, both of which were really good. I'll definitely be back to try more crepes. The only thing that let it down was the use of disposable crockery, which made the experience feel a bit less cozy. That's why I'm giving one less star. But 10/10 to the sweet staff and the food!

Yelp
Best crepes I've had in a looooong time. Friendly service, clean store and restrooms. We had the Parisian savory crepe and the lemon curd sweet crepe. Delicious. Workers having fun, singing and teasing each other.

Yelp
Several options of sweet or savory crepes [Reno NV] O-M-Wow! My Reno Yelp friends were spot on about this creperie. I had this cafe bookmarked for some time now and we finally made it here one weekend and had lunch. They are located in the Airport Square shopping center in Reno. We ordered each a sweet and a savory crepe: * California Breakfast Crepe - cheddar cheese, bacon, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, spinach and avocado * Sweet Tooth Crepe - strawberries, bananas and Nutella Both crepes were delicious, prepared with fresh ingredients. Now it's a must stop for us every time we're in Reno. Looking forward to returning and ordering the same thing again! Cute little cafe with friendly customer service. Currently they have a Special Oktoberfest menu running from October 4-11, 2024. Review #3552

Yelp
Yesterday I visited the sister location Tallinn Creperia in Sparks. Today I took my wife to Kaffe Crepe knowing for sure she would love it. And she did. She had the Mediterranean and I had the Alaska. Both were delicious. Large crepes with fresh stuffing. We each had savory crepes but the sweet options looked so good. Next time maybe. Service was excellent and you can watch your crepes as they cook. It is a nice space for breakfast or lunch. Fresh coffee and a breakfast crepe, probably in my near future.

Yelp
This charming cafe was bustling on a Saturday afternoon! Plenty of seating inside and outside, but we opted for a shady spot outside as the AC was cranked up and it felt cold inside. We ordered one savory and one sweet crepe to share. For the savory crepe we got the Turkey Pesto crepe and it was so good! The pesto was really flavorful and the crepe was loaded with turkey, cheese, tomatoes, and avocados. We also got the Sweet Tooth crepe, which is strawberries, bananas, and Nutella (I ordered it light on the Nutella because I don't like my crepe drenched in it). Perfectly sweet and filling! A little pricey, but I appreciate that the crepes are filled to the max with toppings to make you feel like you're getting your money's worth. The staff were friendly and accommodating, offering us extra plates because we were sharing.

Yelp
Cute little cafe, across the Costco parking lot toward the freeway, next to the international market. They offer breakfast and lunch, with both sweet and savory fillings. Fresh drink specials are also available with a variety of coffee drinks and other soft beverage options. Food is DELICIOUS! Everything is prepared fresh, and you can taste it. Portions are large - two people can easily share one crepe. So many choices, too! I chose a California Crepe, and my husband had the Big Daddy (special of the week). I only ate 1/2; hubby got 3/4 through and forced himself to finish the rest. (It's a 14" crepe [+/- an inch] filled to the edges, then folded into quarters, barely fitting onto a 10" plate.) It's only two people on staff, and they are so attentive! It's not a "sit and be served" environment - you go to the register and order, then, when ready, your order is brought to you. (This could be different at busier times, I don't know.) Also, they offer "to go/take out," which seems very popular. Overall, the word that comes to mind is QUALITY. Prices are fair - large portions and delicious food! This will be a regular stop when in Reno at breakfast or lunch.

Yelp
They have a wide selection of savory and sweet crepes here. I love that they have seasonal offerings as well! I had the Nutella and strawberry crepe. It was delicious! I also tried a few bites of one of the savory crepes and it was equally delicious. Definitely a new go to breakfast spot!

Yelp
Kaffe Crêpe was a great experience. From the simple menu of your choice of sweet or savory crêpes, to the clean and cozy indoor outdoor seating. For our my first time here I would enjoy a sweet Strawberry Romanoff Crêpe, while my wife would enjoy a Savory crêpe -- her favorite being the Parnu which is in the menu of their sister store Tallin Creperia. The Strawberry Romanoff filled with of course, strawberry along with Vanilla custard and Nutella was delicious and decadent. The sweetness was blended sensationally and it didn't make you feel like your blood sugar was rising! Though Nutella is an acquired taste for some, if you enjoy that delicious hazelnut flavor this is definitely the crêpe for you. The Parnu my wife had was very good as well. Savory crêpes are really good! Arugula in a crêpe. It's wild! The service was great, I truly admired their hospitality and the energy of the staff. Our cashier was friendly and engaging, our crêpe maker, courteous and quite quick and skillful. All in all, a great experience that everyone should enjoy! Stop by for a delicious crêpe!

Yelp
Lived the crepes!! We had the Buffalo Chicken and the Lemon/Rasperry. So delicious, been quite awhile since we had crepes and this was perfect. Generous portions and friendly staff. Will definitely return again and again

Yelp
Food is always great! Place always clean. Best desert crepes (Lemon and raspberry) and egg dishes (California Crepe). Love their Mexican Mocha. Staff is friendly and the owner is delightful!

Yelp
WOW - this was hands down the best crepe I've had in my life. The staff was friendly and helped me pick the option that fit my taste best. The service was quick and they had a fresh crepe out to me in no time! It was fun to be able to watch them make them fresh. The vanilla custard with the strawberries and bananas were such a delicious combination. Definitely worth the price for these delicious crepes. There are also lots of cute and cozy spots to sit, which was a huge bonus! I'll be back next time I'm in town and would definitely recommend going yourself!

Yelp
Amazing breakfast and unmatched service. Having a Mardi Gras breakfast style this morning.

Yelp

Yelp
Easy to miss as it is a hike in the wall at a strip mall by Costco. Never noticed the place before. Service was quick and friendly, I was pleasantly surprised at how quick everything was. I ordered the Alaskan Crepe and Biscoff Latte. It was hard to choose as so much of the menu looked delightful. My food was fresh and tasty. Crepe cooked to perfection. Latte was not overly sweet, but was flavorful.
google avatar

Kaiwen J.

Yelp
It's a place that sells you crepe and it's good crepe. While the fillings are nice, the crepe itself is what makes the place stand out. Chewy, doughy and delightful on the palette. For any with a crepe craving, this place will surely please it. Small shop with limiting seating and reasonable service speed. Reasonable pricing for the size of serving.
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious and the service here makes you feel like you're at home. Clean and lovely atmosphere. Pricing is fair and it's definitely my favorite place to get breakfast in Reno!

Yelp
I searched for good brunch places on Yelp nearby and came across Kaffe Crepe. My son and I both love crepes and after learning that they were on Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S. for 2019 (#31), I knew we'd found the spot. Plus, it was only about a 15-minute walk from our hotel. The space is small but cozy. The cafe offers plenty of seating indoor and a few outdoor. It was very busy when we arrived and all the tables inside were occupied. We walked up to the counter and were greeted by the staff. We ordered one savory crepe, the Mount Rose and one sweet crepe, the Cookie Butter as well as a latte for myself, and a decaf caramel frappe for my son. They handed us a number and told us they'd bring out our food. We sat outside for a bit until a table opened up inside, thankfully. This was in early April and it was a particularly windy and cold day. The Mount Rose ($12.95) comes with cheese blend, chorizo, scrambled eggs, green salsa, and avocado. I requested no chorizo and they accommodated. This was very filling and flavorful. The Cookie Butter ($10.50) comes with Biscoff cookie butter, bananas, and cookie crumbs. This was rich and divine and was our favorite (we both have a huge sweet tooth!). The coffees were also solid. We're so glad we came to Kaffe Crepe!

Yelp
I had the lemon curd crepe with a strawberry and it was delicious. My friend had the ham and cheese. I really liked mine!

Yelp
Sometimes it's hard to find a place to eat that will satisfy all the picky eaters in our family, but Kaffe Crepe had something for all of us! My daughter got a krepe filled with banana, vanilla custard and dulce de leche that was absolutely delicious. The texture was a little one note (ie mushy) toward the end so she didn't finish it, but my husband and I gladly split the rest! We were both left satisfied with our savory crepes that had plentiful fresh ingredients. My only complaint is that they could've used a touch more salt, but I definitely appreciate them being under versus oversalted. Oh and the raspberry lemonade I got for my daughter was SO good I wanted to steal it for myself!
google avatar

Marciel B.

Yelp
Walking in you will notice a very down home countyish vibe. The gal working the register was friendly and knowledgable about her products. Biscoff Iced Latte: this was served with the perfect amount of ice which I found amazing. I prefer mine a little sweeter, but it was still delicious Lemon Curd Crepe: So delicious. Would have like to see something drizzled on top but very yummy. Riveria Crepe: I have never had a savory crepe, I didnt know it was a thing hahaha but now that i do i want more!!

Yelp
The attitude of the thin blonde was terrible, made very rude comment towards me, than kept stareing at me when I told her, her comment wasn't necessary. The young, shorterblond taking my order was very kind. I won't be coming back here, nor anyone I know
google avatar

Yelp
Upbeat and fun and it smells so good when you first walk in!I love this place. You're greeted with a smile, you're asked what you might like and recommended some new items or specials on their already amazing menu. The food is made to order and takes some loving time, so please be patient while they work their crepe magic. I love just about everything here and this particular visit was for my wife and grandson. The location is ideal, too - right near Costco and some other amazing locally owned businesses that I'm sure you'll check out while in the area!
google avatar

Paul P.

Yelp
First visit here and wow, delicious. So many options to choose from I just wanted a simple crepe with butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Service was fast, restaurant was clean and crepes were delicious. I'll be back!
google avatar

Mely S.

Yelp
Had been craving a crepe for a while and ran into this place by merely coincidence. The staff was friendly and attentive, good variety of sweet and savory crepes. The crepe hit the spot! It was BIG and very flavorful. Ill definitely have to go back to try one of their sweet ones
google avatar

Cheryl B.

Yelp
Very tasty and lots of filling. I had the cowgirl. Reps with Brie, fig jam and arugula. It's both savory and sweet. My daughter had the chicken with pesto and really enjoyed it. She also got a biscoff and banana one to go.
google avatar

Demetrio C.

Yelp
This little gem was amazingly good. It was everything we had hoped and more. The savory breakfast crepe was really delish. Eggs were cooked perfect, not scrambled, but not all greasy either... Just perfect. The sweet crepes were also very good, not overly sweet, but be careful, their a decent size. If you're not big into a lot of custard, you might ask them to go light. Albeit the custard was not overpowering sweat, so even though it's quite a bit, it's still well balanced flavor.
google avatar

Charles L.

Yelp
Nice Turkey cheese spinach crepe made fresh and hot by friendly staff. Good latte. Small strip mall place.
google avatar

Donna B.

Yelp
Locally this IS my favorite crepe spot. The menu selection of savory and sweet crepes is incredible. Plus the monthly special themed menu. The Cowgirl is my most go to- creamy melted Brie, warm fig jam, and fresh arugula. Get this to go and enjoy at home with a glass of wine. The Tuscan was packed with tender fresh chicken bites, sun dried tomatoes, pesto and cheese. The Escape to Athens was stuffed with roasted garlic pesto, turkey, scrambled eggs, feta, mushrooms and fresh tomatoes The strawberry Nutella is the only one my mom orders when she visits. All of Yanna's crepes are tender and light. And simply stuffed with fresh ingredients. Each one is made individually as ordered. No premade crepes waiting to filled. The wait has never been too long, and always worth it. Will waiting you can sip on a variety of coffee drinks, hot or cold or juices. Located in the Costco shopping center to the far east, it might be a bit hard to find in it's simple building. Plenty of parking available.
google avatar

Jyoti B.

Yelp
Visited with my 12 year old son. We ordered the s'mores crepe and the pesto chicken. Pesto chicken was our favorite of the two. Crepes were fresh and staff was helpful and friendly. Very close to airport and easy parking which is convenient. Would go again if in Reno.
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
While waiting for Costco to open I stumbled across this cute little spot. They have so many options for sweet and savory crepes. I tried the French Riviera crepe. I saw the nice woman making it fresh, and using all fresh ingredients. The crepe was lite and airy. It had the perfect amount of filling! I'm looking forward to trying all their crepes! The coffee was also really good:) so happy to have found this place:)

Susie P.

Yelp
Food was very good. They made them really good crape. Service was great as well. I wish I can come back soon!
google avatar

Dan B.

Yelp
The coffee was good and the crêpes were amazing. I got a breakfast crêpe that was mouthwatering. They have a lot of sweet great crêpes to offer as well..
google avatar

Robin A.

Yelp
Every time we have family come into town we make this place a staple to bring them to. You would be surprised how many people have not experienced crepes before. There are sweet and savory options. My husband loves the cookie butter crepe. And I enjoy their cookie butter latte. This place gets really busy at different times throughout the day. The day we came I am guessing we missed a wave because we got available seating inside. The staff was really nice about answering questions about their menu and making recommendations. What's really cool about their menu is that they have a monthly menu that changes and a main menu that includes the everyday items. But yes I sometimes hear that people don't care for crepes like it wouldn't be their first choice for breakfast or brunch. What I say to that is they are not eating the right ones. I was guilty of that before I tried this place. Fortunately, we found this place and they made us believe in great crepes.
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
The crepes here are sooo good! They have many options and the menu is organized into savory and sweet crepes. The staff was friendly and the crepe's came out quickly. I ordered the Holiday special and it was so good. It included a mix of potatoes, chorizo, and pesto. The flavor combination was wonderful and I've honestly never thought about combining pesto with chorizo! The place is small but clean and does have a decent amount of seating. I also noticed they have several milkshakes and espresso options. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Quint B.

Yelp
Excellent food and service with a smile. This place is well worth the price, with a good selection of crepes.
google avatar

Savanna N.

Yelp
I started my morning craving pancakes and when I was searching, Kaffe Crepe came up and it had been on my list of places to try out. The fact I went this long is tragic because it is soooooooooooo freaking good!! Omg. I got the cookie butter crepe and my mom the Mediterranean and both were delicious in their own ways. The cookie butter one is heaven on earth. They really know how to not over do it on their crepes which is probably why this place does so well for a crepe shop. It was perfectly balanced crepe to topping ratio. Definitely will be coming here more often! Great coffee drinks and obviously amazing crepes. And I brought my doggie and sat outside!

Betty Z.

Yelp
The crapes are delicious! Next time i go, i want to try something different than my usual crape order. It is a cute date spot. The inside is small to dine so during a nice weather, sitting outside is recommended. Everybody was nice and welcoming.

Yelp
our choice for Mother's Day was Kaffe Crepe in the Costco shopping center, Reno. I actually heard about it when Michael appeared on the news show and the owner of this restaurant was with him. I've always enjoyed crepes and haven't experienced any Reno before so early on Mother's Day we decided to give it a try. It is a small store front with a limited number of tables inside and out. The place is clean and brightly decorated and a huge chalkboard lists their crepes for the day. We were offered a Mother's Day menu when we entered with some special items. We ordered a lavender crepe with blueberries and raspberries, a potato crepe with applesauce, and a breakfast crepe with eggs, bacon and potatoes. As there were only three people behind the counter, one cooking, it did take about a half hour to get our food but it was attractively presented. We ordered the raspberry lemonade and were able to enjoy that while we waited. The crepes were served hot and were very delicious. They were really quite filling and large and none of us could finish our choices. I'm going to go back again and try a savory crepe but it's very good, very easy to get in, lots of parkingand prices are normal for this area so I suggest you give it a try.
google avatar

Greg T.

Yelp
I was recommended the biscoff latte and it did not disappoint. It was excellent, not too sweet to overwhelm the taste of coffee. I was very impressed with it and would recommend going there. I appreciate the recommendation from the barista. I will be going back to try the food.
google avatar

Joedy U.

Yelp
The crepes are awesome. I had the Tahoe with the sriracha and ita was awesome with just a little kick. I also had the coconut coffee and it was gone when I was done eating. Cool ambiance and service was great. Will be back.
google avatar

Kiana M.

Yelp
Yummy crepes! We absolutely loved it. Great service, friendly staff, can't wait to go again.

Yelp
I ordered a Cookie Butter Crepe. It was delicious with the cookie crumps being on the soft side which I enjoyed. It included banana and whipped cream. The Cafe had a great variety of drinks and crepe flavors that include sweet and savory. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Great environment for doing any sort of homework. Best crepe place in reno!
google avatar

Waynea C.

Yelp
Love this place. My daughter and I eat here or takeout at least once a month. We make sure to get a savory and sweet crepe to share. Turkey Pesto is my favorite from their permanent menu, but the French Riviera and Mediterranean are also great. In addition, we love trying new tastes on their seasonal special menu. I love that the crepes are so different from one another, and the ingredients are very fresh. Portions are generous. Service is always quick and spot on. The ambience is cute and cozy, since there are not that many tables, though not usually not a problem. They also have an impressive variety of flavorful specialty beverages, including lattes, frappes, sodas, milkshakes, and floats, which we have only barely sampled. Mint raspberry lemonade is a fav in summertime.

Cindy C.

Yelp
Kaffe Crepe is truly one of those hidden secrets in a strip mall. These women really know how to cook and make their customers feel welcome. Everything is so fresh and they cook right in front of you! Chopping, whisking, steaming. We go out of our way to enjoy the freshness of the food and the atmosphere.
