On the Grid : Kaffe 1668

"A charming coffee shop that brings a warm Northern European feel to New York’s industrial experience. Dark woods frame the interior, dimly lit by mason jar candles for quiet work and cozy chatter. Inside is also decorated with tons of wooden sheep (an homage to the homeland?) that surely will have you counting for hours." - The Charles

"If you're meeting friends here keep in mind that there are actually two Kaffee 1668's in Tribeca, just a handful of blocks from each other on the north and south sides of the neighborhood. If they're looking to own an area, they've certainly done it, as it's the best spot south of Canal for an almond milk latte (or fresh juice). Another boon: There's plenty of seating and WiFI, too, particularly at the location in upper Tribeca."

Google
Small cute coffee shop with good products overall. First of all, the drinks are directly made to go, without the waiter even asking, which I didn’t expect. The atmosphere is nice, but the vibe overall is not cozy and the staff is not very attentive. People come in and go all the time, it is not really the right place to enjoy a cozy coffee and/or to study. I liked their coffee though, and the bowls are good too.

Google
I really like this place! Probably my favorite açaí bowl in the city, their granola is to die for. It’s a decent place to do work at, and although there are solo tables they get snatched pretty quick, but there’s usually seating open if you don’t need to stay plugged into an outlet and don’t mind sitting at their long table (i did). the vibe is very chill, not necessarily quiet but i wouldn’t recommend trying to take phone calls or meetings here. matcha was expensive but par for nyc. açaí bowl i think is definitely worth the price!! just a nice little spot to grab a drink/food if you work/are in the area.

Google
EXPAND COMMENT FOR THE COMPLAINT! I absolutely love this place. One of my favorite coffee shops to go to. Generous employees, great coffee, even better food! MY ONLY COMPLAINT! The Air Conditioning does NOT work. It feels like a sauna inside. The fact that employees must work in these conditions seems criminal. And it is only going to get more hot as the summer continues to run its course. Owners need to do something about this ASAP. Or they will see a drop in sales. Plenty of other coffee shops nearby where you are not subjected to that kind of heat. No one wants to step inside a coffee shop (away from the heat of a NYC summer day) and be met with the same if not worse conditions that are outdoors. FIX THIS.

Google
Absolutely loved my visit to this coffee shop! I ordered a raspberry matcha and it was perfect, sweet, smooth, and so refreshing. The barista was incredibly kind and welcoming. He took his time with my order, made sure everything was just right, and even gave me a great recommendation (which I’m so glad I went with!). His sweet attitude really made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
This used to be my go-to place, but the employees’ perpetual frowns and the lack of enthusiasm from management to fix anything broken have made me question the quality of food and coffee. Their AC has been out for years, and their door has been broken for about a year. What’s happening here? I’ve had to stop coming because it seems like the owners don’t care about their employees or customers at all. They just want money. What a shame! I’ve overheard people leave the shop ask how something small like fixing a door can go unfixed for so long. It’s really bizarre for what everyone thought was a decent establishment in Tribeca.

Google
Cool little coffee shop with very friendly vibes. Great place for a quick cup of coffee on the go or to sit down and relax. Plenty of people on laptops inside too. The coffee is sourced responsibly and the food is farm to table. The beans are roasted in Red Hook, Brooklyn. I definitely recommend coming here to whether it’s for a cup of coffee or just to say hi!

Google
I went today with some friends 20ish minutes before closing hoping they were still making drinks and the atmosphere was so inviting. The barista made the most beautiful matcha lattes, completely selling me on the seasonal raspberry matcha and it was just as good as he said it would be. The house made syrup was sweet and tart and was so good. But what really made this visit was the barista, he was so patient with us, helped us customize our drinks to how we would like, and did it all so warmly. Highly recommend :)

Google
A nice cafe to work from. Though seats are plenty, it was relatively busy when I went. There is a clean restroom in the basement, which is always a huge plus. I ordered a blue bowl. They were nice enough to sub the banana for me. Though I was a little disappointed at the bowl. The toppings felt skimpy to me. I forgot the bowl came with cacao nibs until I felt a bite and saw there were a few more. The housemade granola is tasty, vegan and gluten free for all my friends who need to know.

Yelp
I had a nice oat milk latte with salted caramel syrup at Kaffe Are. You order at the counter and then can either get to-go or a nice mug. There's a wide oak table where you can sit and sip or do some work on a laptop. The wifi worked well. I didn't try the food but it looked like they had a nice grab-&-go fridge section.

Yelp
Made a quick pit stop here for our morning brunch, ordering a mango-spinach burito and a ham & cheese croissant, along with a (very watery) cappuccino. Food & service were great and very quick, but I wouldn't order coffee again. Interior was very cozy!

Yelp
They make a fabulous Pumpkin Spice Latte! It's not too sweet at all, it's just right. This location has mostly one large communal table to sit at and a few smaller two seat areas so it's a great spot to go for a quick bit or to sit for a bit! The staff is very friendly and the coffee is SO well made.
google avatar

Yelp
Really friendly staff and the large communal table in the front and smaller meeting tables in the back offers a great mix of spaces to choose from. What surprised me was the large bouquet of fresh flowers on the community table that lifted the atmosphere even more. The whole place feels like a great meetup spot in the neighborhood and a great destination to find new coffee blends. I already had lunch before coming in or else the menu of sandwiches and snacks would be really great accompaniment to the nice range of pour over and espresso drinks. Would be returning again.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute coffee shop! We got the matcha and a vanilla latte. Both were spot on! They have a lot of table space so this is a great place to do work.
google avatar

Sabrina H.

Yelp
Great cafe, they have a lot of breakfast/lunch items made to order and some prepackaged salads/sandwiches. Ordered a cappuccino, cookie and turkey sandwich and all were delicious. Plenty of seating and decent prices. Service was fast and not too noisy.

Yelp
Quick pitstop walking through the city. Really liked the layout and art! Def would be back if in the neighborhood. Caramel Outmilk Latte

Yelp
I came here spontaneously for a coffee drink before getting some work done, and it is a nice little find. There was a fairly long line, which really conveys its popularity. I appreciated the friendliness of the girl behind the counter who made me an iced espresso with oat milk without suggesting I get an iced latte! :) There are a bunch of healthy food options here such as açaí bowls, sandwiches, salads, and juices. Next time I am here, I would love to try any one of them since they all looked very fresh. While the music can be somewhat loud, I appreciated the long wooden tables with beautiful flowers as the centerpiece. I also wish Kaffe Landscape had more natural light to brighten the atmosphere because it can be quite dim even on a sunny day. I definitely will be back for some more coffee and a healthy lunch!
google avatar

Steve J.

Yelp
Great coffee & food! Egg Sammies slap, the pastries are pretty decent too and it's otherwise a great place to meet before work. However - 1$ for oat milk? In 2024? Offensive! lol

Yelp
One of my newest favorite coffeeshops. It had a wonderful assortment of accessory food items. I personally had the french toast (and although I wished they warmed it up), I really enjoyed it. I saw people enjoying smoothie bowls and sandwiches and they all looked scrumptious. I walked in and asked the staff for a matcha latte as well, and boy did the latte art look fantastic. Great vibes, great music, always packed (so be sure to get there in the morning), since there was a quite a crowd later in the day. There is also free wifi from nearby stores, outlets, and some seating space if you want to get work done. There is entertaining Sweadish (i think), music playing in the background. Great place to get work done, but it can get a bit crowded. Also a bit on the pricier end for a matcha latte. Still enjoyed my time here. There are also a few outlets and a bathroom for coffeeshop workers.

Yelp
My partner drank a literal UNICORN from Kaffe Landskap last week and I now officially love this place for more than their delicious breakfast menu.
google avatar

Morgan Z.

Yelp
I hopped into Kaffe before heading into the office with one of my colleagues for a quick coffee and breakfast on-the-go. The inside was really cute and had some seating to eat in. We both ordered drip coffees and breakfast wraps. Our drip coffees were really good. Note as with any drip coffee, it took about 10 minutes for our coffee. I ordered the breakfast omelette wrap and my colleague ordered the quinoa power wrap. We both thought the wraps were filling but light at the same time. Everything in my wrap was so fresh and paired perfect together. The service was pretty quick and the staff was nice. I will say they assumed we were sitting in rather than to go, so I'd recommend making that clear when you order so that your drinks / food come in the right container. I would stop in here again for a quick bite. I recommend checking it out!
google avatar

Yelp
Extremely cute place with some amazing healthy breakfast and lunch options. My friend and I stopped in for breakfast and coffee. It's a little snug in there, but its the Financial District, so it's to be expected. A lot of regulars were working and having small meetings in there, so we knew it was good. I had the Quinoa Power Wrap and it was gigantic! I probably should've only eaten half but due to the amazing flavor, I shoved it all down. Everything is fresh and delicious and the staff is very nice. The only thing I would change (definitely not the music as I loved the Lorde vibes emulating from the speakers), is that they wouldn't call out the names of the coffee orders, or the coffee order at that. So we couldn't tell when our coffees were ready. The food was the same, too. very strange.

Yelp
A homey little cafe and a rare gem in a neighborhood of fancier, more expensive, less cozy places.

Yelp
Great coffee in the neighborhood. Came here a couple times while staying at the Conrad nearby. Also fantastic for people watching.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly staffs, good vibes. Good coffee. I got the mocha latte with a banana bread.

Yelp
Surprisingly excellent variety of baked goods. I'm rather particular as an intermediate cook and their lemon (-glazed?) blueberry scones, moist muffins, and gluten-free berry muffins all especially stood out to me. Details like cardamom really speak to me too. Apparently they're a Scandinavian/Swedish cafe that started out in CO, with 3 NYC locations of Tribeca (2) and Midtown (1). Feeling pretty lucky they're a short walk from me in lower Manhattan!
google avatar

Amira A.

Yelp
The bourbon vanilla latte was amazing. I like the decor as well. The vibe is cool. I just lounged around for an hour to wait for my next client. I want to try so much more from here, especially that jam biscuit.
google avatar

Vicki C.

Yelp
The matcha latte from here is not the overly sweet kind but you actually get to taste the bitter and nuanced flavor of the tea. Really loved it! Not pictured but their coffee was amazing too - I think this might be my favorite coffee near the office (fidi) so far!
google avatar

Alyssa G.

Yelp
Absolutely love! The ambiance is really cute, the food is delicious and the coffee is tasty! I came in for a vanilla latte and was given a lavender honey latte and I asked them to fix it, they happily remade it and were very kind about. Definitely my new favorite spot!
google avatar

Devonne C.

Yelp
Literally running here every weekend for coffee and a matcha mana bowl after the gym. I like to indulge in as much caffeine as possible it seems. Ha! Great coffee (a brew of their own) and nice breakfast/ lunch options like salads, sandwiches and pastries. Really great for an on-the-go meal or to stay and hang out (though it can get loud when it's busy). If you're looking for food inspo (so many options)... I'm a fan of the breakfast BLT... and always ask for extra avocado.
google avatar

Cassie H.

Yelp
I got the Hawaiian pink dragon smoothie from here, and it was really tasty and nutritious! Not sour, but a well balanced and nice tasting smooth smoothie. The service was pretty quick, and the seating was very spacious and picture worthy. This cafe is also a quick 5 minute walk away from the 9/11 memorial and WTC, so it's convenient and efficient!
google avatar

Ariana V.

Yelp
We really enjoyed stopping here before a full day of travel! Everything we had was so delicious and obviously, incredibly photogenic. I had the double espresso, as is my go-to, and thoroughly enjoyed this full bodied shot! Husband got the cappuccino, which he says was as tasty as it looked. My avocado toast was the perfect start to my morning: healthy, filling, and savory. I loved the side of arugula as it's one of my favorite things to pair with avocado toast in the morning! My husband got the oatmeal which I managed to sneak a bite of and WOW! It's literally comfort in a bowl with all the super fresh fruits you crave in the morning. The vibe inside was great: cozy, but perfect for catching up with friends before heading our separate ways. This was definitely a worthwhile stop and would definitely make a point to come back next time we're in the Tribeca or FiDi areas!
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
This is a quiet little coffee shop near the 9/11 memorial. There is plenty of seating and food is available. We just ordered our usual lattes and they were very good. The milk was textured reasonably well and the temperature was good. A small amount of latte art was produced. The drink was mellow in flavor and relatively smooth. One of the things I didn't like was that I explicitly asked for the drink to be for here as I much prefer to drink out of a mug than a paper cup. When my drinks were ready they were in paper and when I folks the barista this, he looked at my order and just said, oh yeah, sorry about that. And, that was it. I'm glad that was the only thing wrong otherwise I might have been stuck with additives or alt milk which I didn't want. Also, there is no public restroom so make note. Overall, it was relatively good coffee, but I'm confident there is still a better shop in that particular area.

Angie T.

Yelp
This spot is ok - it's overpriced for how mediocre the food is, but it's a convenient spot to grab a pick me up after a Target or Whole Foods run. The matcha is solid; it was just the right amount of sweet. The Hawaiian Pink Dragon smoothie was unmemorable and bit too tarte for my liking (didn't hate it but didn't think it was worth 12 bucks). Would come back to try some of the breakfast items / smoothie bowl if I ever happen to be running an errand in the area but wouldn't seek it out specifically. Service was alright (baristas seemed really friendly and knew the regulars) and ambiance is fine
google avatar

Sarah V.

Yelp
Did anyone else get a fraudulent charge from Ecolab no less than 30 mins after coming to this place? I purchased a salad. I'm not really sure how to mess up a salad, but I paid $15, took 3 bites and tossed it. I wouldn't be returning for this reason alone. 30 Mins after I left I got a $374 charge on my credit card for some kind of environmental website.
google avatar

Samantha P.

Yelp
The environment was very quiet and comforting. The person that took my order and made the drinks made sure that the drinks were to our taste and that we were satisfied. They have a small outdoor dining area with a few tables and a nice indoor space. The drinks were made perfectly and I'm completely satisfied. It is a great place to study, get work done, and just have quiet time. I will definitely be coming here whenever I pass by.

Sonya D.

Yelp
I'm giving 3 stars because of the menu changes. The staff and coffee are the best. But the new menu items are a major disappointment, especially the reformulated avocado toast and oat meal. please bring back the OG and you'd be 5 stars again!

Ali K.

Yelp
Awesome service. Awesome quality fresh food. Much Variety and scrumptious. Have been a devoted Kaffe Landskap South customer for many years. Food is always healthful and generous servings too. Coffee high-octane strength. Had an ordered delivered today which was incomplete. Called and two managers spoke with me to start the process of completion. Then, called Square/Nash and spoke with Regg. She was fantastic too. Successful order was delivered quickly. As predicted the first delivery specialist was just working so quickly; he grabbed 2 bags instead of the 3. Problem easily corrected. NY-ers are all working so hard & efficiently because it is a stressful world. Outstanding NYC delivery people all the way around. Much gratitude to everyone for keeping the two immuno-compromised members of our household ALIVE the last five years. Muchas Gracias, NYC.

Yelp
I came to Kaffe because of its decent reviews and to get a picture of their cool cups! When I arrived, it was super dim and it seem like a bunch of people who liked working or chatting in the dark. I asked the barista for recommendation on something strong, but different. I got back a pretty rude "You can choose what you want." I went with the Ethiopian Coffee which was recommended by a nicer barista. The coffee was super strong, but for the price and service, I rather go to the 100s of better coffee shops than Kaffe.
google avatar

Mariah S.

Yelp
FIRST LET ME JUST SAY... @Kaffe1668 WORKING AT THIS PLACE TAUGHT ME A LOT OF THINGS GOOD AND HECTIC lol. Secondly you won't find another store with this kind of craft coffee! This store is a blast from the past for me but coincidentally I remember absolutely ALL of my Regular Customers!!! ALL 300+ From being stuck on the Espresso Machine for hours on end vibing to Fifth Harmony to Daniel Caesar because the lines sometimes never ended too the Extra fuzzy sheep that always CAPTIVATED everyone who would pass through. BEST COFFEE IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Yelp
Sheep on! Kaffe 1668 South is the family love creation by Swedish twins Mikael and Tomas Tjarnberg. They've been in NYC over five years when they opened their first Kaffe 1688 on Greenwich Street. Now with three NYC locations, they are serving up some terrific coffee. What's great here is the variety of single-origin pour overs. There are many different coffee choices ranging from Ethiopia to Honduras. The espresso offering is a bold roast, Kaffe 1668 South is a true coffee lovers destination. All of these Swedish places have some insane baked goods! If I had more time, I would have loved to have one of their many egg breakfasts or panini lunches. I grabbed a big chocolate chip cookie with sea salt with my latte. The coffee after the first sip is bold, perfecto! If you're in the area, have a seat and enjoy the coffee along with a few fuzzy sheep.
google avatar

Eugene Y.

Yelp
Pretty cool spot in the Tribeca area. I got a cold brew with some simple syrup - it was good. I usually like to Sri k to the basics with coffee - a simple espresso or an americano for me. A nice spot to get a quick coffee and stroll around.

Chris M.

Yelp
I loved this place. I was visiting from California and found this spot with delicious matcha and they have a green juice too which was soo good and fresh! Super busy but spacious and everyone is so kind
google avatar

Stacy S.

Yelp
My first time trying Kaffe and it was fabulous.. the cappuccino was perfect and avocado toast I recommend. The atmosphere was perfect to settle and enjoy your time. The music was not too loud and an enjoyable playlist to reminisce. I will be returning
google avatar

Gigi A.

Yelp
The Kaffe brand offers some delicious coffee, lunches, snacks and treats. This location is no exception. I like a lot of things about this cafe. Obviously their drinks are snacks are good, that's what keeps me coming back. They sometimes sell day old cookies at a discount. But a TriBeCa discount so they're still like $2 each. The seating is nice and he atmosphere is pleasant. You can come here with a friend or alone without feeling lonely. The restroom is downstairs, so be aware of that if you have limited mobility. Perfect location near Whole Foods and Target if you're running errands and need a break.
google avatar

Jackie S.

Yelp
I used to go to the Kaffe 1668 in midtown once in a while and always loved how big it was. The FiDi location is smaller but still has plenty of seating at a communal table, and a few smaller tables. The thing is, downtown coffee shops don't have the come-and-stay-while-sipping-coffee vibe...since everyone is heading to work and busy. This is one of the few non-Starbucks locations in the area where you can actually sit if it isn't slammed. Friendly service, nice decor, and bougie coffee drinks. It's what you'd expect.
google avatar

Shin C.

Yelp
Solid coffee place. I ordered the bourbon vanilla oat milk latte and there wasn't much extra taste to my coffee. Good place to hang out or work though.
google avatar

Sherry L.

Yelp
I don't usually hang out in Tribeca, so I'm not familiar with the local coffee scene. I was looking for a place on Greenwich Street with only one requirement: wifi, and this was one of the establishments that I had bookmarked a while back that fit the criteria. Unlike it's sister location a bit further up on Greenwich Street, this particular location has free wifi (open network). Also, if it's important to you (those of you who are looking for a place to hunker down and do some work), there is a large clean bathroom available for customers downstairs as well! Although I liked the decor and the rustic feel of the cafe, I found it a little too dim of a place to start my morning - honestly, all I wanted to do was cuddle with one of the stuffed sheep, toss a sheep throw over me, and take a nap in the corner, instead of waking up like I should with my morning coffee. I started out at the back of the cafe at a small table, but found it way to dark to do work, so I moved up front to the bench next to the window sans table. However, I do appreciate that there are a variety of seating options - both at the communal table up front and smaller tables in the back. I ordered a latte, and it was photogenic, but even with whole milk, it tasted watered down to me. I was hoping that a couple shots of espresso would wake me up more than it did! I like this place, and would definitely meet up with friends or do work here if I was in the area, but I would not go out of my way to visit!
google avatar

Izzy L.

Yelp
The best iced mocha latte I have found in the Financial district area since I moved here!
google avatar

Hunter T.

Yelp
sorry don't like complaining but food was mid, service was nice and kind but real slow. it's like real dark and scary in here too. Also, idk if they ran out of greens or something but they replaced every green on every dish we ordered with spinach. bland af. was disappointed and wished i went with my usual option rather than trying something new.

Maya Y.

Yelp
A very nice cafe spot! The staff is so nice and the food is really good! I love the lemonade, overall I really recommend.
google avatar

Kathy G.

Yelp
Really good food! Four of us got breakfast sandwiches- they do have GF bread and are accommodating for allergies. THANK YOU for that! They have protein snacks, pastries, sandwiches, other meal options. We also got coffees and smoothies. The dining space is a little small, but we had space to sit together. It is clean and employees were very kind & helpful.
google avatar

Sabrina C.

Yelp
Great coffee - had an oatmilk latte and it was creamy and delicious with beautiful latte art to top it all off. For all my fellow oatly fans, they use oatly barista ed, the good stuff. I absolutely love the cafe space. There's PLENTY of seating (15-20 seats; combo of 5-6 two seater tables and one big table for like 10 people) which I've found to be quite rare for Tribeca cafes, so it's a great place to meetup with friends or just to get some work done. Speaking of getting work done, THEIR WIFI IS SO FAST. I was so productive in the 1.5 hours that I was there that it more than justified the $6 coffee I paid for. The big table doesn't have outlets which sucks so come with a fully charge laptop. I probably won't be stopping by for a daily coffee here because there are other shops where I can get the same quality latte for about $5 (ok I know it's only $1 but IT ADDS UP!!) but you can find me working here very, very often.
google avatar

Christina T.

Yelp
I don't know what they put in this salad but I'm glad I always taste before I add dressing (Purple Antioxidant Salad) with organic chicken AMAZING
google avatar

Fanglin Q.

Yelp
After ordered and paid , for a iced latte, waited about fifteen to twenty minutes, then I stepped down to ask, the barista eventually started to make it with a minute. I mean if it is busy day, who wouldn't be understood it happens to wait. But no, it's just me, a asian girl was standing in front of the first table. If you don't want to sell only a cup of drink for to go, you can just simply to reject.
google avatar

Daniel Z.

Yelp
Gluten Free Vegan Healing Bowl is great, it has almost all of my favorite ingredients: quinoa, seaweed, brussels sprouts, and sauerkraut. Purple Antioxidant Salad is good too!
