Google
the most lovely cafe! excellent iced latte, chai, and the carrot cake is a must! one of the best carrot cakes I’ve ever had. service is lovely and the location and atmosphere are fantastic.

I enjoyed my filter coffee here so much so that I had to come back twice during my stay here! Best coffee in Bergen imo. 😚👌🏻

Kaffemisjonen is a hidden gem for coffee enthusiasts. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff create a welcoming environment that sets it apart. The baristas' expertise shines through in every cup, making it a haven for those who appreciate a finely crafted brew. The menu offers a delightful variety, ensuring there's something for every palate. From the first sip to the last, Kaffemisjonen delivers a consistently exceptional coffee experience. It's not just a coffee shop; it's a destination for those who savor both the art and taste of a perfect cup. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a coffee haven in town.

Google
Really tasty and high quality black coffee. I have been to this cafe today and a few months ago. A blonde girl Barista and a guy Barista with medium length brown hair were very knowledgeable and helpful. I think that this is the best cafe in Bergen. Greetings from Polish Barista✌🏽️

Google
Patronised on a rainy day for daily fix. Nice coffee pairing with a good book to read. Absolutely tranquil. A side note, this cafe runs on self service, order & pay at the counter, collect your drinks after that.

Google
Really nice place to have a morning coffee before hiking. Tasty cinnamon bun, elastic and moist. Award winning coffee lovers

Google
Excellent coffee, best we’ve had in our trip through Norway so far. We will be back on our return to Bergen for sure.

Google
Shabby chic. Tasty coffee and filled croissant. Good place to rest after touring round Bergen, definitely would recommend stopping in.

Yelp
Brilliant spot for a coffee and scone. The staff were very friendly with excellent English (I have no Norwegian to offer!).

Yelp
Really good coffee. Seating is not so ample but unless they are really busy you will have a chance. But the coffee is really good :)

Yelp
First stop in Bergen, on walk from train station to hotel, as it was highly recommended by barista in Oslo. Really loved my cappuccino and my husband loved his double espresso. Service was nice. Looks like they have a fairly extensive food, both savory and sweet, menu.

Yelp
Location: Third time's a charm... so like I said in my last two reviews: in the heart of Bergen. Walk. The place: A bare bones coffee shop with a bit of seating. It's away enough from the core that you don't really see tourists here - my favorite part! The goods: I ordered a Cortado and it was pretty darn good. Definitely a coffee highlight since I've left Montreal. Service: Good. Price point: I forget what I paid but I think it's on average with other coffee shops. Just remember: everything is expensive in Norway.

Yelp
Probably my favorite mean in my 8 days in Norway. The latte was absolutely perfect, and the open face cheese sandwich was exactly what I wanted. The fresh bread and sharp cheese with tomato was perfection. The gentleman at the counter clearly knew coffee well and proudly shared that. He was also very friendly.

Yelp
I am baffled by how this place is so highly rated. Maybe they don't like non-Norwegians? We walked in and said a friendly hello and the barista looked straight at us and didn't say a word, just scowled. We asked for a cappuccino and an americano and she made no acknowledgement at all that we had ordered, just turned away and started making the drinks. Once the drinks were done she stated the amount due and pointed to the card machine. She never said one other word to us. The drinks were pretty awful, my husband took one sip of his americano and was done with it. Also the floor was very dirty and in need of repair. Giving two stars just because my cappuccino had a pretty design on top, but I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Cappuccino was good but more like a latte. The mocha was quite powdery and the cocoa separated from the milk and coffee. Croissant was flaky and buttery. Scone was not too dry and not too moist.

Yelp
Good coffee, nice barista, in the center. Everything you want from a specialty coffee bar ...but they miss: working wifi, heat in the room. Like most of the places I visited in Norway I froze while I was drinking my coffee. More gezellig like that indeed. It's on the good coffee in Bergen list.

Yelp
The best espresso drinks and black coffee I had in Bergen were made at this cafe. They stock beans from specialty roasters like Tim Wendleboe and Supreme. The space is small and the pastry and food selection is very limited, but if you want very well made coffee, this little cafe is where it's at in Bergen.

Yelp
It was a little chilly outside today as we walked around town, so my mom and I decided to stop inside and give this place a try. As usual, I ordered a latte. I like ordering lattes at every coffee shop I visit so that I can compare each one. With that said, I tried this place's latte and found it to be pretty similar to most coffee shops I've visited. I only ordered one shot in it, so it was a little weak.. but it was still good. Nothing fantastic though. I probably should have tried their special. As for the atmosphere, it was very calm and welcoming. There was a woman who brought her daughter (maybe around 3 years old). It was so cute watching her and her daughter having a mother-daughter date. Kind of like what my mom and I were doing. Not too long after sitting down, another mom walked in with her daughter (also around 3) and met up with a friend. Lots of people meeting up to share coffees. It gave the place a very comfortable vibe. Definitely enjoyed sipping on my coffee with my mom. So the ultimate question is, would I go back? If I had more time in Bergen, definitely.

Yelp
Loved finding this place, at the moment to get out of the soggy cold, kaffe and kake sounded like the cure! Love the teal cerulean color and lights, plus the kaffee really was the best. Cappachino was extra creamy and best coffee. Spice cake was sweet too. Service was friendly and we learned how to say thank you in Norwegian, 'tussen tak'

Quentyn Z.

Yelp
Unfriendly service to start. We walked in and the barista said nothing to welcome us and just stared at us. We said hello, and she still said nothing. So we ordered and paid. Grabbed our coffee and sat down. Broken/wobbling table sent my Americano flying all over the table and me. No accoutrements set out for the customer. My Americano (what was left) was extremely bitter and undrinkable. My wife's cappuccino was average. This strikes me as a locals only place. Which may account for the barista's attitude toward us.

Yelp
One of the best coffee shops in the world. I owned a coffee shop in Florida - I am a trained barista, I've trained other baristas, I've competed, I've studied coffee science. These people are awesome. I had 4 different drinks while in Bergen - everyone was done perfectly. Texturing milk & serving it at the correct temperature (where it has carmelized but not scalded) takes training. This shop nails it. It's very close to all of the tourist activity & it is totally worth the 2 block walk to get there.

Yelp
This was my favorite coffee spot in all of Norway! The cappuccino was absolutely perfect, and the baristas were so friendly and accommodating. It was the best spot to read a book and get out of the rain. I can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
I love this place! I ordered a muesliyoghurt and expected something boring and regular but it was amazing! The mokka is good and the chocolate cake is also amazing! Staff is friendly too.

David H.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible coffee, with excellent service ! I came across kaffemisjonen while strolling around one morning in Bergen, and this was definitely one of the highlights of my visit to Norway! As a coffee lover I regularly look for the best coffee spots in any city I'm visiting, and all I have to say is that I'm very sad that Kaffemisjonen is many thousands of miles away from NYC, because this is by far one of the top coffee places I've ever been to and I wish I could go there regularly. The staff was very friendly and told me all about the Jacu coffee that they use, which is absolutely a amazing, and the yogurt was a delicious way to start my day. I look forward to stopping by next time I'm in Bergen!

Evan O.

Yelp
We loved this cafe. Cappuccinos were perfect, of course. But the yogurt with muesli was the real star. Be sure to get there before they close their kitchen so you can try it. We had a good sandwich too. That yogurt tho.... UPDATE: tried the scone and oh.my.god. I pushed aside my yogurt for that scone. Have both!

Yelp
Outstanding cappuccino and service very conveniently a block off the center for a chill experience.

Katy L.

Yelp
Ordered a cappuccino and a croissant. The cappuccino was one of the best I have ever had but I am pleasantly surprised about the croissant because it was crunchy and puffed up. Nothing like the saggy and slightly soggy croissants I've tried so many times before. Perfect way to start a morning with a good croissant and a cup of good coffee.

Yelp
Probably the best coffee shop the wife and I went to while in Norway. We were there on several occasions and had both great service and coffee. The staff was nice and understanding. We also tried the baked goods, which were also excellent.
google avatar

Jonathan S.

Yelp
This is best cortado I had, simply love the Nordic roasting style with whole milk. Will continue to be my place to go get coffee while in Bergen.
google avatar

Jackie N.

Yelp
Seriously, best latte I've ever had, in my life. And awesome croissants too! You can't come to Bergen without visiting this coffee place!

Yelp
This is the real deal as far as good coffee in Bergen goes. Seeking out the best coffee when I travel is essential, and since I'm from LA my standards are high. This cafe did not disappoint and makes an fantastic Americano. Staff is pleasant and the ambience is perfect with great window light. They're also open early! Rare for this area. Don't sleep on this spot.

Yelp
Not to be too snarky, but wasn't crazy about this place. Mediocre atmosphere and cappuccino, sparse food selection, wrong change given after cash payment, and slow wifi. Would recommend Bar Barista a few blocks away. :)
google avatar

Marc L.

Yelp
Had lunch here. The menu was in norwegian only, but the staff was nice enough to help out an english-only speaker. Good food, nice view of the street if you like to people-watch.

Chad P.

Yelp
This place absolutely deserves it's high ranking. Best coffee we've had in Scandinavia so far.
google avatar

Yvonne V.

Yelp
BEST coffee in Norway so far. Loved the latte with an extra shot. Hubby had the mocha which was good as well. For lunch I tried the sandwich with fennelsalami and goatcheese: yummie. Highly recommend that too. Bit pricey but that seems to be the case anywhere.

Yelp
After reading about this coffee shop in a blog that boasted that best latte, of course we had to check it out! The vanilla latte was very delicious and we paired it with a croissant that made it definitely worth the trip. It's a great place to regroup from exploring Bergen while experiencing a very modern style coffee shop.

Peter A.

Yelp
Had a good coffee here after several disappointing coffees through Scandinavia. Helpful and friendly service, and good cake and pastry.

Riju K.

Yelp
Very nice cappuccino ( a large here is a small, really small by American standards, but we are not in America!) accompanied by carrot cake which was not that great. The croissants were very good. Nice ambience, casual, street facing seats ( only a few).

J P.

Yelp
I fell upon this coffee shop by walking by. I had a Japanese green tea. Wait staff was friendly and efficient.

Bill M.

Yelp
Very good cappuccino and Cemex coffee. The cheesecake with mango and the carrot cake were both excellent (for the non-coffee drinkers in the group). Friendly staff.

Laura L.

Yelp
Loved! Service was wonderful (the gentlemen were super sweet, professional and knowledgeable), coffee was delicious, and the mozzarella sandwich was great. My favorite coffee place in Norway thus far!
google avatar

Anton M.

Yelp
Loved the homemade cheesecake! Cute coffee shop in a nice location. Very local feel. Good americano.

Cannus T.

Yelp
WOAH. Some serious good lattes and vibes going on here. Four stars for this latte I had! When everyone around you is speaking in Norwegian, it's a sign you have stumbled upon a local gem. Decor on point, clean cafe, quiet atmosphere. Staff seemed friendly. I didn't have much interaction besides putting in my order but it was a pleasant experience.
