EDIT: I have removed a star due to the owner's response. I have never eaten or ordered food here, nor addressed my concerns in person. My name is not very common, so I highly doubt they have any basis in assuming I am the same person. I went in for the first time yesterday morning, ordered a drink, tipped $2, and then noticed the food menu. After getting back to my car, I looked up the menu online to see what items they had and what I'd like to order upon my return. This is when I saw the AI images. Kafiex, it's true that more than one customer has the same concern, and I think it's very arrogant of you to assume that's not the case. Just take the photos down. It's embarrassing. It's not my problem that you paid a professional and were apparently ripped off; that sucks. Use a phone like every other cafe, or leave the images blank. It won't matter anyways, the images have already been generated, the harm done. But you clearly aren't equipped to handle the feedback correctly so maybe just take them down.
Original Review: I love going to Kafiex at Esther Short and was excited to see they opened a second location and with food! However, I was wildly disappointed to see that they AI generated all of the photos for their food ordering platform. Yikes! Not only is it dishonest, it looks terrible and is unethical to contribute to the massive water waste caused by AI use. No photo would’ve been fine. It would actually be less dishonest to use a stock photo. They claim to source their beans sustainably but that is apparently as far as their sustainable mindset reached. Super disappointing!
