"Brunch and Schnaps Near the Limmat River At this hip, airy café in a former butcher shop, the draws are breakfast and brunch served daily until 4pm and open-faced sandwiches with ingredient combinations like roasted veal with tomato-chili jam, arugula and Sbrinz splitter, a hard cow’s milk cheese. The “haus-schnaps” is made from quince grown in the backyard."

Insider tip: Order your drink and a snack at the bar before taking a seat, whether indoors or outdoors. After an exhausting walk in the hills, I welcomed the break at Kafischnaps café. I had a Latte Macchiato, which was decent, and they also offered a selection of pastries. My coffee was served with a glass of water, which I really appreciated!

It was a lovely caffee in not the busiest road of Zürich. It is still close enough to the river that after a lovely coffee, you can get down to the water in about 5min and go for a nice walk along the river. Also good for dates and stuff ;)

I came by for a coffee while walking around the area on a Saturday in October. It had been raining off and on but there was a table outside that was dry so I sat down. However, the hostess who seated me did not tell me that I needed to order inside so I sat there waiting for several minutes. Not a huge deal but when I went inside to order of course it started raining. So I had to rush outside to get my already wet backpack then come back in and get my coffee and then stand at a table because there were no seats available. Some spaces were not taken but had reserved signs. But once everything was settled, i enjoyed a very delicious cafe latte while taking in the atmosphere of the restaurant. Definitely worth your time to stop by for a coffee, beer, or bite to eat.

Prive doesn‘t reflect quality. Self service only (which is ok). Food is mediocre at best, the bread is good but the dishes do not taste good. You can get better brunch in zurich for the same price. Coffee is weirdly bitter. Service didn‘t interact with us at all, didn‘t ask whether we are finished before clearing our table. All in all not worth it for the price.

Nice cozy atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor sitting areas. Outdoor area is covered as well and they provide blankets so it still feels warm and cozy even in the winter. Has a wide variety of all day breakfast/brunch options. Can strongly recommend the Chèvre Pain Perdu (especially during the winter) as the warm cheese was a great complement to a cold November morning. Service was great however the options are slightly overpriced for the amount of food you get.

Great and famohr bar (wide range of cocktail) and coffee place. There are also room upstairs to rent with a shared bathroom. Very clean and well designed, only inconvenient might be the noise you get from the bar below.

🌞 Had the most amazing brunch today at Kafi Schanps! 🍳☕ The morning started with a steaming cup of coffee that was simply divine - it woke up my taste buds and my soul! ☕😍 The food at Kafi Schnaps was exceptional - a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. 🍳👌 Cappuccion, expresso, salads....; it was a brunch lover’s dream come true! 😋🥞🥓 What truly made the experience outstanding was the warm and welcoming service. The staff at Kafi Schnaps went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and their smiles were infectious! 😃🙌 If you’re ever in the mood for an unforgettable brunch, Kafi Schnaps is the place to be. I can’t recommend it enough! 🏡💫 #BrunchGoals #CoffeeLovers #FoodieParadise #kafischnaps

Yelp
I stayed here for one night upon my arrival on Zürich. I wish I had booked a second night as it was a welcoming place to stay. Alas, they were all booked up. This pension is located above/next to the cafe/bar of the same name. It's in a residential area but a short walk from tram lines and the Wipkingen train stop. These give quick access to the airport and downtown. You check in at the bar and receive a coupon for a free beer/coffee which is a nice touch. The 5 rooms are named after various fruits. I stayed in Cherry which is a single twin bed room. Despite being above a busy cafe/bar, my room was quiet and had a view over the street and patio for the cafe. The single bathroom is shared so there might be an issue with waiting, although I had no issues during my stay. I'd definitely stay there again if I return to Zurich. For the cafe, I took advantage of the season and drank gluhwein which was delicious. They were fairly crowded on a Thursday night which I took as a good sign. There is indoor and outdoor seating, with a fire pit outside. The morning I left, I had tea and scrambled eggs with chives. Tasty and a good start with some protein for the day. The cafe was lively even at 10am with lots of local residents. Check this place out if you're in Zurich!

Yelp
Given the giant rectangle staring out at me from the Yelp main page, how could I not write my review for Kafischnaps ab sofort? :) -went to this place the other eve to meet some fab Zueri-Yelpers and had a very nice time indeed. Although I only had beer (a nice amber-ish one at that that the very charismatic and hip 'tender may have thought was dark beer, but no matter) I would be inclined to return as the overall vibe of the joint was casual and inviting. This place calls itself a 'Cafebar' and I would be inclined to go along with that. Have a coffee, a campari, wine or an ale while sitting with friends and chatting. There's grub in the form of soups, salads, sandwiches and such to fortify the tummy. As an after-dinner drink order a coffee with schnaps! If it weren't a good idea, then the place would be called something else, I should think. What I didn't realise until I checked out their website in greater detail is that Kafischnaps also offers accomodation for the Zurich visitor. They have five 'comfortable and price effective' rooms for the discerning traveler furnished by local designers. If I didn't already live here, then I'd be inclined to book a room. Kafischnaps...for the discerning guest wanting to experience a more 'locals only' Zurich.

Yelp
Baileys and hot chocolate for 7.50CHF is a pretty darn good deal. That drink really hit the spot on a cozy night with a bunch of fun fellow yelpers. Thanks Simon for arranging such a cool event! Thanks to Bea B. and Jamie G. (wow that rhymed) I now know that Kafischnaps offers rooms for the fellow traveler and different menus throughout the day. How random, and cool! The people working here were polite and the place seemed like a normal little cafe. I was really proud of myself because I took a tram ALL BY MYSELF for the first time. It was quite easy to find the place, even though it wasn't right by the main train station. Das Cafe ist schon und hat heiss Schocolade mit Baileys fur 7.50 CHF. Ich denke das ist sehr gut. Es ist neben ein Tram halt auch.

Yelp
I've looked around for a breakfast place on Sunday while I've stayed here in Zurich (was visiting). Read some reviews about this place but was not 100% convinced to go as I wasn't sure what to expect. I've ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and the Kafischnaps complet which consists of bread, croissant, marmalade, cheese and a slice of brioche. It is all self service so you need to order at the bar. When I arrived there was quite a number of people waiting to place their order. You can read the menu above the bar or the paper version on the table - anyway I got to order quite quickly so didn't really have time to process the menu (which is not that comprehensive) but dunno why I didn't manage to read it all :-) The hot drinks you usually take yourself to the table - the ordered food is served by the waiter. All arrived quite quickly. From the presentation point of view the "complet" wasn't that spectacular but the food very nice and fresh. I also liked the cappuccino and ordered a second one after I had finished my two dishes. I am quite picky with coffee but this one I really liked. Overall a good experience and I am sure I'll be back again next time I am in Zurich.

Yelp
I can't tell you enough how much I adore this cafe and hotel. The hotel is reasonably priced and easily within walking distance to the city center (Zurich is not that large). The rooms were clean and well-equipped. The bathrooms were fantastic and spacious. As true for pretty much everyone in Switzerland, the staff members here are the most genuine form of kind. Even though we didn't speak their language well, they greeted us with open arms and made us feel so welcome and at home in Zurich. When we arrived a bit early, we had a coffee as a booster from our overnight flight. The staff let us take luggage to a secure room, and use a room to change our clothes and spiffy up for our day exploring Zurich. They showed us the best and most scenic route to get downtown and offered suggestions for where to go and what to do. I really wish more hotel and/or hostels treated guests like this. Our stay here was what made Zurich feel like a home away from home. Thank you for such a nice stay! When we return, we will most certainly stay here again.

Yelp
One of the first coffee shops I've found where I'd be happy camping out and working. Good coffee, good pastries, and good WLAN. Clientele is friendly, welcoming, and more non-smoking than usual. Music is goofy: Cameo and Rick James last time I visited. And the Schümli-Pflümli is luxurious.

Yelp
Morning coffee in the way to Lucerne. Most expensive coffee I've ever had- 6.50CHF, but maybe that's normal here. However coffee was very smooth, loved it.

Yelp
The drinks were quite standard, and the food was OK. Here`s a note for you: they`ve got different menus across the day. But they used our own shot glasses, for that they earn extra points. And though it`s off the beaten path, it`s not hard to find this joint. Directly next to several buses, and close to Limmatplatz- come try out Kafischaps, and add a lil extra to your night cap!

Yelp
Neighborhood cafe/bar that seems to be popular with the locals. It's nice to sit outside and enjoy the weather (and a beer) in the summer, and in the fall/winter, it's also nice to warm up indoors. Had breakfast here once, and it was okay, but nothing to write home about. Ordered salmon scramble, and the salmon was a bit dry (overcooked - better than undercooked!). Not a bad place; wouldn't mind coming back for a drink or two.

Yelp
:D I love this place :) It was supposed to be an old butcher shop and you see that it was not designed to be originally a bar, but they made something cool out of it ! The place itself is not that big, but just cosy enough for a good beer. Everytime I go there I see colorfull people ( in the good sense) sitting and having some drinks. The bartenders are really nice, and the way the bar is designed you can't really miss them (i'll leave it to you to see how it is :P ).
