Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve

Open air experience is worth the experience and food is great and it seems they take good care of their people. Otherwise this place is not worth the money. I would do one night in open air and then move along. Places like Botliers and Kol Kol gives you way more value for money, non-exploitative and luxurious experience. Kagga Kamma is not a 4 star place (as it is now)

We had the best wedding and honeymoon at Kagga Kamma. From the moment we got there until the moment we left, we were treated basically like royalty. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. The cave suite was so breathtakingly beautiful! We will definitely be going back for our anniversary! Would 10000% recommend this place to anyone!!

We stayed 5 nights at Kagga Kamma and had the best experience. “We” = two adults and two children 4 and 6 years old. We stayed in a Hut and it was clean and comfy, water running like it should and the kids took baths in the evenings. ||The service was wonderful. We were assigned a personal waiter who took good care of us all week, learning and knowing exactly that we wanted - big shout out to Donovan, he’s the best! Big menu for both adults and children, the food was really good. Dinner outside by the Lapa every evening was magical, and the kids could play in the sand. ||The pool area was perfect. Beautiful situated by the rocks, good temperature, sun chairs with umbrellas to create shade. The kids had so much fun swimming in it. ||We went on a rock art tour and my husband on a stargazing tour. Well organized, the guides were knowledgeable and made the trips fun. It felt safe with the vehicle. ||Other facilities we tried were climbing up the rock and using the swings, so much fun and beautiful views! We played minigolf, the course was in good shape. There was a driving range that we passed on the way but didn’t use it. We went to the camping area and thrived that pool too but the one at the hotel was cleaner. ||But the nature was the best, breathtaking beauty and quietness. Sunsets were amazing. All in all we can warmly recommend Kagga Kamma, bot with and without kids. I hope to visit again sometime in the future!

My husband and I eloped a month ago and we still haven’t stopped raving to people about how amazing this place is ! We have recommended friends , coworkers and even people in the comments of our TikTok video ! This location is exactly the type of vibe we go for when going away and all I can say is it exceeded our expectations!!!! We’re even thinking of coming back for our anniversary. I’d also just like to say that all your staff are exceptional at what they do and them being themselves made this experience 10 times less stressful and made it feel like a home away from home . They didn’t create a stiff environment and that is something that helped leading up to and on the big day . I’m am especially impressed and extremely happy with the services that Jeremy has rendered! Urgg he deserves all his flowers ! Once again thank you to both him and Abby and everyone else that played a big role on that day . One last thing your chef knows exactly what he/she is doing as well as the people mixing up those cocktails . I’m extremely impressed and couldn’t have been happier with the decision my husband and I made . May your business be showered in blessings !

An absolutely beautiful setting I had high expectations reinforced by the price point and previous stays in other Cederberg places. I really wanted to love my stay. But: the caves are really just dated cramped very basic 2* hotel rooms made into a fake cave. Curtains kind of broken, basin that did not drain and no cupboards to store clothes and belongings so our room looked like a teenagers mess the entire 3 days. Food was really expensive and mediocre. Staff were friendly although not particularly professional but service was generally good.

We recently visited Kagga Kamma on a camping trip and unfortunately the experience fell far short of expectations. The campsites we were allocated had no shade at all, which made conditions extremely uncomfortable, especially with temperatures reaching 37°C. We ended up spending most of the day at the pool simply to escape the heat — thankfully, the pool itself was at least clean. On arrival, I used the ladies’ bathroom at reception and was shocked to find the toilet blocked and in a terrible state. When I mentioned this to the waitress on duty, she merely nodded and took no action, which was disappointing. The menu prices are ridiculously expensive, so we chose to self-cater instead. We did a short self-drive game drive and saw some eland, zebra and a tortoise, which was pleasant, but not enough to justify the overall experience. We ultimately left a day early, as the stay was not worth the discomfort or the hassle of the long gravel road. As a final letdown, when we tried to purchase a bottle of the owner’s wine (which seemed lovely), we were expected to pay full restaurant prices, which felt unreasonable. Overall, this was a frustrating and overpriced experience, and we will certainly not be returning.

Nature at its best, it was like walking on the moon...beautiful, peaceful, wonderful, helpful and super friendly staff. Swimmingpool was a lifesaver, because it was hot...on our hike we found a pofadder, biggest one I have ever seen. Will Kagfa Kamma see me again, YES YES YES😎😇

First I must comment on the food - WOW! The lamb chops in particular are just the best I’ve ever had. Honestly one of the best meals of my life. Especially when sitting outside by the huge fire of the boma under the stars. The location is of course beautiful. Stark and raw and natural - stunning and ethereal. The team went out of their way to make my stay a pleasure. Not only were they great, when I had a puncture on the road they arranged for my tire to be taken to town to get sorted out and arranged the whole thing for me. That’s really going the extra mile and I want to thank them all again for that. All in all, it’s a magical place. Do all the excursions, go spend time alone in the wilderness, chat to the strangers you’ll meet there and enjoy the silence. Thanks for an incredible stay!
