Where To Eat When You’re Visiting Tokyo - Tokyo - The Infatuation

"The world of ramen is so much bigger than just tonkotsu, and Kagura-ya is here to prove it. Unlike the pork bone-based broths mostly served in the US, Kagura-ya’s ramen is all about chicken and the golden schmaltz that gives a deep savoriness to everything it touches. At Kagura-ya, there are five main bowls to choose from the ticketed ramen machine, but the assari toridobe and noujuku toridoba are our favorites. Assari has a clear, salted chicken broth with pools of shimmering gold from the schmaltz that floats on top. Noujuku’s base, meanwhile, is thicker and tastes just like a soup version of Thanksgiving gravy." - kiera wright ruiz

Came here at around 10pm. Staff was super friendly and helped me to order on the machine in front of the restaurant (Cash only). I had the creamy chicken ramen (nr. 2) which was the best I had in 4 weeks of Japan so far. The broth was really creamy and the chicken smoked or bbq which gave it a special flavour. Beer was ice cold. Highly recommend this place. Edit: Came here again today and tried the tomato cheese Ramen. It was sooo delicious.

They do 100% chicken based ramen (no other type of meat is used). Best ramen we’ve ever had. My husband got the creamy version (#2 on the vending ordering system) and I got the usual version (#1). They were both super delicious, the restaurant takes pride in where it sources it’s ingredients, the types of noodles it serves for each type of broth. So delicious. A big queue out the door the entire time. Not great for large groups (like most places in Japan). Max table size of four. Their banana shakes were also yum - I got the black sesame and it had a lovely subtle nutty flavour.

This ramen shop is located near Tokyo Dome. I tried the chicken clear soup ramen with vegetables and finely chopped yuzu on top. I really liked it because it was smooth and flavorful. The thin noodles matched perfectly with the soup. Highly recommend!

Google
Absolutely amazing ramen, and everything is just chicken-based (no pork and no beef not even in the broth). The broth is very rich, with great depth of flavor, just delicious. The noodles have a bit of a bite to them, unlike other places where they overcook them. The spring onion adds a touch of freshness. We also had the chicken char-siu bowl, and it was also amazing: great charred flavor, perfectly cooked rice, great chicken. We shared a ramen and the char siu bowl with rice for two, and it was plenty for both of us, 1,700yen all together. Overall an amazing place, incredible.

we went on a cold rainy day and their noodles were such a god-send. soup base was flavorful and soulful. one staff spoke mandarin which was very helpful to us as tourists. love this little shop to pieces and will be back when we have the chance.

Best Ramen we had in our trip. The only place we repeated. Ramen full of taste. Beer was just a degree above freezing point. Would give it 6 stars if I could.

Local eat is always the best. One simple rule if you want to eat like a local. It’s best to select the restaurant with japanese menu only because most local will come to their favourite ones repeatedly. I and my partner are the only foreigners in the store among japanese. Simple menu: first, you need to select among four types of broth based on chicken broth: thick, smooth, ramen dip noodle (yes, this one is awesome too) and one more type which I haven’t tried yet. I think they got the same noodle texture as I couldn’t have enough time to translate every single Japanese on the menu since there is a queue after me. But the noodle texture is addictive combined with the broth is out-of-this-world. I don’t think you can top up with more noodles since other places offer but it helps you to empty the bowl in an instant since it’s hard fo resist. Highly recommended this hidden restaurant whenever you have a chance to come to Suidobashi station which is near the Tokyo Dome City.

It's surely a hidden gem in Suidobashi and mostly locals know it. We dine twice in a row, surely prove this restaurant caught our heart and belly.. My favorite is the clear broth ramen. The lemon/orange peel was a really pleasant surprise.
