I visited the shop for a chocolate truffle making class which was purchased on eventbrite for about $90. The class lasts an hour, and the owner/shop manager was the coach of the class. You can taste the cacao, and some small pieces of chocolates. After the class, you can take home 4 pieces of chocolate truffles that you made.
Basically it’s a class where you learn the fundamental knowledge of how cacao grows, and harvested by watching a 10 mins video. Some other fun fact of how to make chocolate from the cacao nuts. Lecture was about 40 mins in total, and the chocolate truffle making process is about 15-20 mins.
I did come to the class with some expectations and I don’t think the class worths the hype.
I could learn all the fundamental facts about cacao from Google and YouTube. I was looking for more of an experience of making the chocolate. However the chocolate truffle was pre-made since they have to be in the fridge overnight. What we actually did was assembling the pre-mixed truffle, rolling them into the round shaped and adding toppings.
It was quite an average experience IMO, and not worth what I’ve paid for the class.
*** On the side note, the staff judged us when we use “too much” truffle for 1 single piece of chocolate when there is absolutely no guidance of measurements.
