11 Essential Ramen Shops in San Jose and the South Bay - Eater SF

"A quaint, cozy spot in San Jose, Kahoo Ramen serves a thoughtful assortment of miso-based ramen with egg noodles. Though the broth is light, it doesn’t skimp out on flavor or depth. The signature miso ramen is rather simple, but the black garlic miso ramen takes the umami up a notch with black garlic oil, while the crab miso ramen is, of course, topped with fresh crab meat. If you’re craving a heftier bowl, you can’t go wrong with the Ultimate Ramen — miso ramen topped with a crispy, deep-fried pork cutlet." - Paolo Bicchieri, Cathy Park

Great hole-in-the-wall ramen place tucked into the corner of a plaza. It's cozy, with 7 tables and bar seating, but weekday lunch is the perfect time to stop by as it's not busy. You'll sit, order, eat and pay in 30 minutes. Now for the food. It's my favorite ramen here in the South Bay. There are other places that also have good ramen, but the non-ramen dishes and appetizers are equally delicious, like toasted onigiri with tobiko, chicken karage or spicy takoyaki. And the icing on the cake is the price is more reasonable than most restaurants. Oh, if you like garlic, get the black garlic miso!

Google
Order non-spicy miso ramen it was delish 😍. The small katsu-don was absolutely amazing too. Tonkatsu was good as well that came with vegetable soup. Service was nice too. I like how the short hair glasses lady made sure the orders were correct. I really appreciate her attentiveness & friendliness towards my son, and us.

Google
The fried chicken and garlic scallops both taste good and are well prepared. The takoyaki are too soft and covered in sauce. The steamed clams are bland and not even salty enough.

Google
Food is comforting, delicious and the quality is consistent. Service is wonderful. They are kind and accommodating with customizing orders. Be aware it will be first come first serve as the location itself is very small. The tables are pretty close to each other, so be ready for that. There is also a countertop option to sit at... You may need to wait in line, so plan accordingly. This place is worth the wait.

I've tried the ultimate Ramen and the Curry. I enjoyed both but don't bother with the volcano sauce as it is disappointingly mild and not worth the extra 2.50. they also don't serve the red pickles with the curry.

Grew up coming to Kahoo Ramen...first time visiting in 10+ years. I'm glad they survived COVID. I was sad that they updated their menu to phase out their simple shoyu/shio ramens. Two of us ordered: -karaage $9.95, the fried chicken here is still really delicious, must order -yakioni mentaiko $5, crispy rice was good -black garlic miso ramen $14.95, ramen was ok. Not the biggest fan of miso ramen, but not too many options on ramen side now Definitely a great spot to eat! Excited to be back to try their other apps/a la carte items. Parking is super tough in the plaza.

Highly recommend checking them out! We went in for dinner and the atmosphere really reminds you of Japan. While the seating is limited, the service is super nice! We got the Kahoo legit ramen and the Karaage chicken curry plate. Loved them both! Comforting food overall.

This Ramen house is very good in my personal opinion. I like the fact that it is run by Japanese instead of non-Japanese so it gave me the feeling that the food is authentic. Overall, good food.

Yelp
Oh NO! Another one bites the dust... I totally forgot to write a review for Kahoo Ramen. It was around for a decade or more from what I recall... Only made it in once, but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. #Kahoo: ~ Chicken Karaage - 3.5/5 ~ Spicy Miso Ramen 4.5/5 ~ Kokumaro Shoyu Ramen - 4.5/5 Looks like Tsujita is taking its place in June.

Yelp
Food: 9.2/10 The quality of the ramen at Kahoo remains consistently exceptional. Between the ultimate ramen and the black garlic ramen, the broth is rich and deeply flavorful, the noodles are well-cooked with the right level of chewiness, and the toppings--particularly the chashu pork--are thoughtfully prepared and well-balanced. This is clearly a kitchen that values both tradition and precision in its craft. Service: 9.5/10 The service was impressively fast and efficient. Staff were attentive without being overbearing, and the entire dining process felt smooth and well-managed. It's clear the team operates with a strong sense of organization and customer care. At the end I even got a free appetizer coupon! (Food in 3 minutes!!!) Ambiance: 7.5/10 The recent remodel has improved the overall layout and visual appeal of the space, but it still falls slightly short in terms of comfort and atmosphere. While clean and functional, the space feels more practical than warm or inviting. A few design touches could elevate the dining experience further. Overall: 8.9/10 Kahoo Ramen continues to be one of the stronger ramen options in the area. With outstanding food and attentive service, it more than makes up for its slightly underwhelming ambiance. Highly recommended for those seeking authentic ramen with minimal wait and maximum flavor.

Yelp
Small Japanese eatery. There was a wait time but the turnover was fast. I ordered the karaage teishoku. That was a dry chicken thigh with just kewpie mayo. I didn't really care for it. My table mates got the curry which seems to be good. The soup that came with the meal was tasty. Service was prompt

Yelp
Located in the Strawberry Plaza off Moorpark and Saratoga, this place is hidden in a little corner. Decorations inside are quaint - very much like a shop you might find in local neighborhoods in Japan. The walls are adorned with items off the menu and you can easily look around and see if anything piques your interest. Service was wonderful. The ladies working gave us ample time to look through the menu and were quick to refill our water when needed. Since it was pretty quiet when we got there, we were seated away from the other groups to give us space. However, before we got our food, a group of 4 showed up and were seated next to us as it was the only seating for 4 that was open. Oh, well - we were crowded for sure in that little corner, but not too big of a deal. The food came out and looked appetizing. I enjoyed the spicy takoyaki, but didn't care for the agedashi tofu. My spicy black garlic ramen - again, looked appetizing - but lacked any real depth of flavor. The broth was warm and had a slight hint of garlic, but I tasted more black pepper. The spicy was not spicy at all and the chashu pork, although cooked well, was only okay. I did like the egg, which was cooked to a good runny consistency. My friend didn't like all the cabbage in her ramen and ended up just pushing them to the side. It's a cute little restaurant to visit, but not a place I'd want to go back to.

Yelp
Try the tartar karaage! Huge pieces and amazing sauce. I wish they have more small plates options to be a real izakaya. This is more a casual quick ramen place now. Service is standard. Friendly staff.

Yelp
I came a few times to Kahoo Ramen, but it's been a while. They redecorated (maybe a while ago) and added more menu items! It's got an upbeat Japanese dive bar feel. I like it. The ambiance is nice, simple decor with menus and drink items plastered all over the walls. The tables and chairs are stained dark brown, which gives it a slight elegance. There are several tables inside and at the counter seating. It's not really a good place for large groups. The service is polite and quick. Yaki Onigiri (grilled rice ball) with Tobiko. Deep-fried or pan-fried with oil. Though, maybe the oil got too hot and burned a bit, so the Onigiri didn't have a clean taste. I'll say just my order. Otherwise, crispy on the outside, with a salty savory soy sauce basted on the outside. The inside rice was nice and fluffy. Black Garlic Miso Ramen: Miso based soup, Chashu pork, beansprouts, eggs, green onions, corn, & black garlic oil. Ok, this came out piping hot! This gave me a chance to take some pics before diving in. The egg was a full sous vide egg, nice creamy yolk with a soft outside. The broth was delicious, earthly, and savory, but not as salty as you would think. I almost drank it all. The chashu was very thin and 2 small pieces, but very tender and well seasoned. I wish they gave more or thicker slices. The noodles were a good thin thickness, but I prefer it to be a bit firmer and have a bit of a chew. The beansprouts and corn gave this a crunch as you drank the soup and slurped away. Other restaurants offer the nori, woodear mushrooms, and bamboo shoots, which I love. But, their ingredients work for them. I'll be back to try their other dishes.

Yelp
Came here based on a recommendation and I was surprised by the quality of food. We got the black garlic ramen and tartar karaage set. Black garlic ramen broth is flavorful and only $14.5! (Which is lower than other ramen shop in Bay Area). Came with chasui though I think the meat is quite fatty and can be more lean. Big portion for karaage. Crispy and match perfectly with the tartar sauce. Be prepared to get in a short line as the restaurant is not big! But wait time is reasonable. Definitely will return again.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place since I was a kid, sometimes nearly every week. I used to love their tanmen--the veggies had a perfect crunch, were well-seasoned, and came with nice pieces of pork in a light yet flavorful shio broth. Unfortunately, in recent years, the restaurant seems to have gone through a makeover or rebranding, and I've noticed the cooks and staff have changed, along with the entire menu. The tanmen is now called "Kahoo legit ramen," but it's not quite the same, losing some of the qualities I used to enjoy. That said, it's still a solid spot for ramen, especially if you like a good amount of veggies in your bowl. I might give it another try sometime.

Yelp
Gonna miss you guys! You were one of the first of the Ramen Revolution that swept through the area and it's sad to see you go. I'll forever remember grabbing a bowl at the counter and arguing about rock music with the owner over a bottle of Sapporo!

Yelp
The service was fast and everyone was helpful. The place is small but the interior makes u feel like you're somewhere in Asia. The food was very flavorful and very tasty.

Yelp
Mixed food reviews here between me and someone else. I truly enjoyed the crab miso ramen. Good broth, soft noodles, large chunks of crab, and even corn (I like corn). The other person had the katsu dim and didn't like it. She said the meat was all breading. I tried a spoonful and thought it tasted good but maybe she's right. Also enjoyed a nice small bottle of warmed sake. I have to say, their place had an odd smell. Not sure if it was their cleaning formula or what.

Yelp
I wish I could have tried the food here, but unfortunately, the service was so bad that we weren't able to even order. We came on a Saturday afternoon around 12:30pm. There were plenty of empty tables and seats. Sure, the restaurant is small, so we understood that they initially said that we have to fold up our stroller to fit inside the restaurant. So we accommodated their request. Note that when the waitress told us to fold the stroller, she didn't do it nicely either. Just said.. fold up your stroller or we can't seat you. We folded our stroller and put our car seat on one the chairs at our table, and sat down and prepared to order. The server came by again and told us that we can't have the car seat on the chair. The car seat wasn't in anyone's way, but the server rudely grabbed the chair with the car seat to move it away. At that point, I just wasn't having it anymore with the server's poor attitude so we got up and left without ordering or eating. We have been to restaurants with tight spaces and normally they would have moved a chair out of the way and allowed our stroller to fit where the chair goes. Or offered a high chair for the baby and found a place somewhere else for the stroller and car seat. Or been apologetic about not being able to accommodate us. There was no apology or apologetic attitude or offering us a high chair (which they did have). Just rude attitude and rude grabbing of our car seat.

Yelp
Because my friend and I were moving slowly, we originally wanted to go to Fugetsu, but ended up going here instead. Service: 5/5 quick, no wait or many people toward the end of the day, on MLK day too Karaage: 5/5 the mayo doesn't quite taste the same as the ones at nicer Japanese restaurants Black garlic ramen: 3/5 I think I was expecting something else since I used to frequent Nishiki ramen in San Diego and they had a black colored smoke bomb ramen, so this didn't quite live up to that. This ramen itself was okay, well cooked chasu but broth didn't have too much umami, I wouldn't get it again. Katsu curry: 4/5 decent curry and pleasantly cooked Katsu, but missing the classic red pickles!! I remember it would get pretty crowded for lunch on the weekends and loud. For the price I think this place is ok, especially in a great location with other Asian stores to browse if there is a wait.

Yelp
Changed since the pandemic... I miss the "spicy" but they have some good options. I will say that they do give you nice portions when you get the large and it's only $14. Rice bowls are $7/$14 and worth it.

Yelp
Had a great experience here! There was no wait when we arrived and our server was friendly and brought us water right away. The restaurant itself was pretty small, but I enjoyed the ambiance of the place. We ordered takoyaki, miso ramen, and black miso ramen. Food came out quickly and they were decent portions. Food was full of flavor. Will be back to try out other items on the menu.

Yelp
In the strip mall with Mitsuwa, Kahoo Ramen is a small ramen place but serves a menu more than ramen. It has some interesting appetizers like scallops in butter sauce, clams. It also has grilled rice balls and small dishes like miso salmon nabe. It has a weekly special of ramen and a side rice combo selling at $18 but the side rice combo is as is, although it rotates the menu every week starting Monday. They also serve curry dishes and the sukiyaki curry beef sounds interesting. Their ramen soup base is always miso. It tastes ok but with nothing memorable. My friend was satisfied with how el dente the noodle is. The grilled rice ball with flying fish roes came in ok but the rice ball seems flatter than other restaurants' such as Tanto. Service is good. We were greeted, and checked up upon twice with water refill as well. There's a paper and pen wait list and because they are small inside, in rush hours there will be wait.

Yelp
Our family goto restaurant for home cooked Japanese comfort food. A couple of our faves are: The "legit" ramen is the original kahoo ramen for old timers that went here years ago. A miso broth loaded with veggies and bits of chashu. Tastes the same as before and hugely satisfying. Plus you don't feel so heavy after eating as you would a tonkatsu broth. The tontatsu curry is also great. Pork is thick enough thats it's still juicy and cruspy on the outside. Curry rice is excellent. Love this place - def try.

Yelp
Kahoo Ramen is located in the corner of Strawberry Park, right next to Teaspoon. The restaurant itself is relatively small and limited in seating. Luckily, it wasn't busy when I came in for an early dinner. I ordered the Salmon Asari Miso Nabe, and shared the Takoyaki and Pork Cutlet Katsu Curry with my partner. The Salmon Asari Miso Nabe was good, but I wish the portion was just a bit bigger. I thought the dish was very comforting and was perfect for the cold weather! I suggest ordering a bowl of rice to make this dish a little more filling. The takoyaki was okay.. there was definitely more dough than the filling. It's good to try once though!

Yelp
We came here since Santouka ran out of ramen earlier than closing so we decided to try out this place instead. We ordered the beef don, black garlic miso ramen, and chicken karaage. The chicken karaage was so delicious! It was flavorful and tender. The beef don was pretty good like what we expected. The ramen was okay, not my favorite item at this place. Their menu has a variety of options for you to decide from. The servers here are friendly and very attentive. They came by to refill our waters multiple times. Overall, this is pretty decent Japanese restaurant!

Yelp
This place is great, there's something for everyone! I'm ashamed to say that it was my first time trying Kahoo Ramen, despite visiting the Strawberry Park Shopping Center/Mitsuwa countless times. I ordered the sukiyaki beef curry, and my friends ordered the black garlic miso ramen, tonkotsu bowl, and veggie ramen. My sukiyaki beef curry was as expected, very delicious and hearty meal! I always have a soft spot for Japanese curry, it's my go-to when I'm unsure of what to order. The tonkotsu bowl was good according to my friend! The veggie ramen's egg was tasty, the broth was creamy but didn't leave a large impression on her. The noodle texture is excellent too! The black garlic miso ramen isn't for picky eaters, it left a bad taste in my mouth and was bitter. My friend liked it though! Overall we all agree that we'd come back to Kahoo and try their other menu items. Service was quick and the food was tasty.

Yelp
This is a quaint little place authentically Japanese. There is a cute bar and a line of tables that I like to see and reminds me a lot of the types of places I actually saw in Japan. Parking on an early evening weekday was far easier than parking in this lot on a busy weekend. At about 6p I waited for about 10 minutes before I got a seat. I'll get right to the point with the ramen. It wasn't that good and I had their top ramen on the menu. Maybe I would have been more satisfied if I had got a different ramen but the one I had was a little too salty and the flavor missing. Also there's a lot of cabbage in there which I wasn't a fan of. The other dishes I had were great though. The karaage seemed larger than normal but still succulent and tasty. Asari scallop garlic butter I would come back for. I would be interested in trying more here, just not the ramen.
google avatar

Yelp
This is our usual go-to ramen place near home. It is a small shop with decent service. The ramen is authentic; it is one of the few places that offers garlic shoyu ramen in my area. It does feel like having ramen in Tokyo.

Yelp
This is for the experience with a staff member. Not food. Friday 5.24.24 1134am I was looking at the menu board right outside , Some children banging on the other side of the board. The lady with short hair comes outside only says "Please don't do that it's very fragile" The tone wasn't very nice. It's no problem to tell people not to bang but there has to be a better way to tell potential customers in a way that does not turn them off from coming here in the future. It's ok to spend money here, but it's not ok to make noise outside and "ruin" your plastic board?!? The priority lies in the plastic board and not future customer or being nice. There are so many times u go to clover bakery next door kids banging and making sounds at the bell in the front door and nobody says anything. In fact the clover Japanese staff (especially rounder face lady with short hair)nd sometimes they even interact with rowdy kids and smiling and offering to keep an eye out so parents can order and check out. I think a smile goes a long way. U can smile and say you are so cute but please be careful with the board. It will fall and break easily and you can get hurt. It is dangerous. Basically you get the same point across (don't bang on board). But with a prospective customer focused approach.

Yelp
I really like the idea of teishoku and got the hirekatsu teishoku which is not as thick as the tonkatsu. The pork was tender and the soup was great. Will visit again!

Yelp
I tried this place for the first time in person; we had ordered takeout before. It is located next to Mitsuwa and Teaspoon, but is a little bit hidden. It has a casual, cozy feel. Not good for big groups since the tables are pretty small. There was also only one server when we were there. The ramen was very delicious and authentic! I wouldn't mind eating the soup by itself honestly. I also felt that the clams in the Deluxe Ramen made it seem like a treat. One thing to keep in mind is that they don't have a kids menu, so we ordered extra noodles and I just shared my broth and toppings with my son. There is a wide selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. One minus is that for some reason the tea came in a disposable cup, which made it seem cheaper. The main reason I am giving it a 3 is that when my husband came to put our name in, they said the restaurant was closing in 15 minutes. But he noticed that the server didn't tell that to any of the other groups (who came in 5-10 minutes after us) who were taking their time ordering and eating. It made us feel rushed/a little unwelcome. I want to come back again because it is close to our house and the food is solid. Maybe the service was just off that night.

Yelp
I first came here when it was covid and they had outdoor seatings. This was my second time here and I got the Black garlic miso ramen. The ramen came out fairly quick, the servers were very attentive when it came to refilling my water. The ramen was good when I first started eating it until I tried the broth, it was just too salty for my preference. Sadly I couldn't finish it, tried my best to at least eating half of it. I felt like I had to drink more water to compensate the saltiness and quickly became full after that. Although I couldn't finish my ramen; I do want to come back to try their curry dishes, they look so good. The environment of this place was nice as well, servers were nice and attentive with customers.

Yelp
One of best ramen in the South Bay. Service is fast and friendly. Bar or table fast turn overs. The wait is reasonable.

Yelp
Kahoo ramen was a very delightful dinner venue! Parking can be tough on weekends since it's in the Mitsuwa plaza, but I've never had trouble after circling the lot twice. Kahoo ramen is easy to miss since it's further into the plaza and despite all of the bright signage, it's wedged into a tight space across from Tomi Sushi. However, the ambiance of this place is so cozy and perfect for a bowl of ramen. The service is great as well since the seating is so limited. The food varies from decent to great and I enjoyed every item I ordered. Yaki Onigiri: 4/5 perfectly grilled and flavored, wish there was filling inside. Eggplant side dish/agedashi eggplant: 5/5 perfectly delicious, not overly seasoned so you can still taste the vegetable's flavor and texture. Must order for any eggplant lover! Black garlic ramen: 3.5/5 unfortunately the ramen was the weakest item of the meal, but the black garlic flavor was strong and the serving was pretty big! I found the noodles to be mediocre since we have so many ramen places with handmade noodles in the area, and the broth lacked depth. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
It's been awhile since I've eaten here but was around the area with a friend and a bowl of ramen was fitting for a cold rainy day. Glad to see this place still doing well! Since I've last eaten year (years ago), it's still the same small cozy ramen shop that I remember. There was a small wait and was able to get seated within' 5 minutes. I was in the mood for something basic and not too heavy. The first item on the menu - miso ramen sounded perfect. I opted to make it spicy as well :) The miso ramen comes with cha-su pork, bean sprouts, egg, corn, and green onions. It's a very simple yet delicious ramen bowl. The miso broth was light & flavorful with the right amount of spicy kick. There were two nice pieces of cha-su pork which was perfectly cooked. My favorite part of the ramen were the noodles - they were cooked al dente and carried the miso broth which made each bite delicious! The portions were on the smaller to medium size. I ate a few dumplings before coming here so the bowl was sufficient. Looking forward to trying their other dishes. Will def be coming back to try their other options. Great ramen place to check out!

Yelp
Been coming to this shopping center lately during swim lesson breaks! This place I stumbled onto has a good feel and the vibe was correct! I ordered a Ramen veggie bowl that included a little cooked pork slices. It was quite tasty especially when I added some of the white pepper they have on the table. The tiny dark but cozy cool place I will definitely check out in the rain! While sitting there , I saw this big plate of chicken cutlets put in the service window where the staff is and asked the server about it! He told me it was from the Curry Place next door and they were going to use it for their own lunch! When I was done I saw the other server put various plates on a couple of tables and I was watching and joked " oh Yum, there's that chicken!"The waiter offered me a huge piece but opted for one cutlet ! Is was really tasty and I'm definitely going to go next door next time with the Mrs who loves Curry and check it out!! I took some pics! You can see of my bowl and the curry chicken cutlet! Both were good the server was great! Will absolutely go back!!! Thanks guy

Yelp
This place has probably changed hands many times but seems the name remain. In the old days it's ramen with a stir fry toppings, now it's clams, black garlic, etc Pretty good and consistent consider there were no Japanese cooking in the kitchen. It's good.

Yelp
I have tried Kahoo Ramen for several years and every time I visited thought it was really good. It has the same feel as a Japanese ramen restaurant in Tokyo. The service was always great, even when there is a line out the door, which happens quite often! After the release of Yelp's best 100 ramen restaurants in California, I felt compelled to try Ramen Hajime and Hinodeya Ramen because they are close to me. I tried them several times. But today I went back to Kahoo Ramen and I can say with certainty that this is my best Ramen joint in the South Bay Area! Their spicy black garlic ramen with chashu pork, egg, corn and sprouts is out of this world! Besides the service, in addition to dealing with a full restaurant and waiting patrons was impeccable! I highly recommend Kahoo Ramen!

Yelp
I guess the store changed hands again recently. The menu selection is different than a few months ago. The store now focuses on serving tonkatsu instead of ramen. The problem is their tonkatsu is not that good. The meat is way overcooked, chewy, and tasteless. The only good thing is that the tonkatsu is not too oily. The ramen is now bad in general. The noodles are overcooked, and the soup is bland and tasteless. I will not come back ever again.

Yelp
Always one of the best places to grab a quick lunch in Saratoga. I was glad to see this long standing establishment return mid pandemic. They have a great variety of choices besides ramen. I definitely recommend the teishoku rice plate with karaage. I will say this maybe the best karaage in the South Bay. The portions are still huge. If you come during lunch hours the parking lot can be busy but you'll always find people coming and going.

E K.

Yelp
Used to be one of my favorite place. Haven't gone in a few months. All changed. The noodle tastes like a soup of baking soda. Horrible.

Yelp
I was shopping in the same center as this spot and stumbled upon it. The outside is unassuming but I was craving curry something so I chanced it. I went in and it's a quaint small bariffic type place. I've been to Japan many times and Asia - Thailand-Korea-Nepal and with its small tables and raised bar that peaks into the kitchen area it reminded me fondly of one of my fave Asian spots in the east. I was promptly greeted by a young smiley waitress and given a menu. I ordered a water and tea - unsweetened - and the tea came canned which was fine. I ordered the chicken karage curry and the agedashi tofu appetizer. They came promptly - and portions were good for pricing. The tofu was crispy outside but not too much breading like a lot of Chinese places over do it - it came in tasty but no too salty ponzu with scallions - shashinto green pepper roasted and light topping - tasty and four pieces was perfect for me at $4.95. My curry plate was served with four healthy looking pieces of chicken karage on top of white rice that also had some pickled veg on top off to the side and some small roasted cherry tomatoes. The carb protein was on one side and a the other was the curry sauce. The chicken was moist but not oily - there's a big difference - breading was crunchy but not too thick and curry was just right - not too hot and flavorful and stuck to chicken and rice but not runny nor too pasty. Rice was moist - not dry or too wet and overall everything was fantastic for $14.95. I mention prices because to get a good meal like this at $20 with the appetizer/drink is almost a deal considering a fast food place costs that much for burger - fries and a drink at times. So nice ambience - great service - simple ordering - tasty food that is priced right. Glad I stumbled on Kahoo and will return to try the ramen next time .

Yelp
I am a fan of Kahoo Ramen. I am very sad about my dining experience today. I would like to give my feedback to business owners here. I tried this new appetizer on February 8, 2023 and it was delicious. Fresh and rich in soup. My husband and I finished the soup that day. Today, April 25th, I brought my kid to try it and it tasted completely different. I was disappointed by the owner's response "oh we started making this 2 months ago and they overpacked the stuff and now the soup is undrinkable". So... excuse me...quality control? If you don't want your customers to have any expectations, then you should always set the same standard. This can be understood as cheating and not nice to your customers. At that moment I was not in the mood to eat the order anymore. Disappointment is still so strong until now.

Yelp
Love their ramen especially Kahoo Legit Ramen, my wife and I sat on the bar. My wife has a miso ramen and I have Kahoo Legit Ramen (stir-fried cabbage, carrots, corn, green onion and chashu) with miso soup base. I love mine because the tasty soup base and the aroma of the stir-fried vegetables which for me is a perfect combo ramen. It represented in a large bowl and the ramen is al-dente, right on timing. My wife liked the miso ramen especially the charred chashu (I think they charred their chashu with a torch that created a smoky aroma and enhance the chashu flavor). Will definitely come back soon. The service is good and our server is very attentive.

Yelp
This was my first time to visit this restaurant. I really had craving for Ramen for along time but me being an Indian I have a very limited non veg option. This is a small restaurant with total 30 people capacity. When I entered here to this restaurant I was actually not aware of its food selection as my options was limited but am really happy to say that I got an amazing service here by its staff. He described me everything with its ingredients etc which helped me a-lot. I opted for a take out and the service was very fast I got my order within 5-6 min. The food packaging was good and the food was nice and warm. I really enjoyed the Karaage Chicken alot. Ramen was also good but was bit light as per my tastes. Overall I enjoyed being here and am looking forward to visit here with my family and friends.

Yelp
I searched Shirataki noodles on Yelp and found Kahoo has it! I have gestational diabetes during pregnancy and have been trying to find diabetes substitutes. I'm so happy to have found one, let alone at a ramen spot! They didn't advertise the shirataki noodles at all, so I thought I would just let everyone know on Yelp they have it! The karaage was delicious too, with dark meat and fried to perfection. Happy to have found a noodle alternative!

Yelp
Every time So Delicious! Whenever I complete my shopping at Mitsuwa Market, I pop around the corner for lunch at Kahoo Ramen. Besides being So convenient, it is So Delicious. Every time! The restaurant is cozy and the menu is huge. Today I told my friend I want to come everyday for a couple of months, so I can taste every dish, it's seriously that good.

Yelp
No-frills ramen spot located in a strip mall. The stopped by around 3 pm and there were a handful of people inside. The kitchen looked busy though perhaps a busy pick up/delivery day. My hotel was right across the street so I got my grub to go. I was greeted promptly when I walked in the door and a menu was handed right away. I gave my order and my food came out about 15 mins later. I ordered tonkotsu Ramen and chicken kaarage. The ramen was pretty good. The broth was flavourful and had a clean pork taste. The char Sui was tender. The noodles were Al dente too. 4/5. The kaarage was good, freshly fried and delicious. Crispy and juicy. The kaarage also came with white rice which was appreciated. 4/5. I would visit again.

Yelp
My son and I had a ramen craving yesterday and enjoying ramen was a good idea on a day that was a bit chilly. Eating ramen always fills my belly with a warm and happy feeling. This restaurant is a bit small, but packs a lot of flavor. We were greeted warmly and seated quickly. I've always received very good service here. In addition, the quality of food is top notch. I enjoyed the Black Garlic Miso Ramen, while my son ordered the Spicy Black Garlic Miso Ramen. I "slurped-up" all my soup, which is a clear indication of how well I enjoyed my bowl of ramen. My son liked his the spicy paste, which he said definitely kicked-up his ramen. The waitress refilled our glasses of water a few times and was very friendly.

Yelp
Food, Services, truth be told ain't the original ownership as it once did. Don't taste the treasure a hidden shop in a plaza. Ambiance, can't say much, still the same size. Don't recommend this place. If you wanted Ramen, simply head to the food court in Mitsuwa Market.

Yelp
The ramen itself was pretty good, we ordered takeout and the person taking our order on the phone was incredibly nice. Dont know if it was because we got takeout but the portions seemed pretty small, lacking in toppings and broth. That said, the egg was runny and amazing.

Yelp
We came here since it was open later than other ramen spots in the area which was nice. It was a pretty average experience all around so probably should've trusted some of the other reviews on here. They specialize in miso ramen so most of their ramen has a miso base which I was excited about. I love miso ramen but this was pretty middle of the road. It wasn't bad but just nothing special, especially compared to other spots in the area. The kahoo legit ramen was a bit of a letdown.. the chopped veggies in it were an odd addition and was sad there was no egg in it (should've read the description closer I guess). Probably don't see myself coming back but was glad to try it and check it off the list!

Yelp
Food is excellent. My wife and I often order the fried chicken appetizer along with the ramen. Service is always good. Attentive and helpful. Small cozy place with a nice ambiance.

Yelp
This is a very small restaurant in Strawberry Park, in a center with many restaurants that have a line to get in. After deciding the wait was too long at a couple other places, we came here. It has a come-as-you-are vibe, and someone even wore a costume at the bar area. Luckily we got a table. You could watch the kitchen if you wish. I decided to try something different from the usual basic miso and got the black garlic ramen. It had a strong black garlic flavor but not so much that would overpower the other ingredients. The pork was tasty and the egg and corn made it a hearty soup and a full meal, pretty much.
